So glad and privileged I was able to feast on several delicious offerings of Gloria Maria Greenhills as they officially joined the Choi Garden family. Everything as in everything was perfectly cooked (tender beef and lamb, crispy duck and pork skin) and seasoned (from the soup to the meats and even rice and noodles).
You can really tell that Gloria Maris uses quality ingredients and the chefs are experienced and skilled. As simple as the Dimsum Trio of hakaw, siomai and egg tart may be, it was uber good!!! It made my tummy giddy and I wish I could have had more although that wouldn’t be such a good ideas as towards the end of the Lauriat, I was too full already LOL. The dimsum was plump, filling to wrapper ratio was perfect and it was fresh while the egg tart was heavenly.
That’s just the dimsum, the mains were even better. My top favorite of course would be the Peking Duck wrap! Oh so sinfully crisp and juicy Peking Duck skin in a Chinese pancake with cucumber, chives and hoisin - perfect! Then the Wagyu Beef in Black Pepper Sauce comes second as it was so tender and tasty, I really enjoyed it a lot. Equally good was the Lechon Macau/ Kawali with crunchy skin and tender meat, I’m running out of adjectives because again it was good / delicious.
I was surprised that they served Lamb Chops, it’s my first time to try Lamb Chops at a Chinese restaurant or as part of a Lauriat and to be honest, I’m not a fan of lamb in general. But when I tried their pan-fried Lamb Chops with mint jelly, it was (again) tender and perfectly cooked and I was surprised that I enjoyed it. I imagine people who love lamb will enjoy it even more than I did.
By the way, the meal started off with a two toned almond and pumpkin seafood soup and it was indeed a great start to one of the best meals I’ve had. The soup was creamy and had chunks of seafood. Even the presentation was a delight (see photo), it was in a big bowl with the 2 colors equally split and when the server scooped it onto our individual cups, it still maintained the two toned effect!
2 more dishes that stood out for me were the spinach bean curd with sauce and the mini taro basket with scallop and prawn. I wouldn’t mind eating these healthier dishes everyday if I could.
There were more dishes that were served but I think you get the picture, it was truly an enjoyable and satisfying meal. Thank you Gloria Maris for preparing and allowing us to sample this amazing feast!
P.S. We were seated in one of the function rooms and it was so cool that each corner of the room (since it was 4 mini rooms combined into 1) had their own clean and spacious comfort room, so convenient.
Food is really good, they have a lot of innovations for Chinese cuisines, service is really slow compared to the main branch in Pasay, also their 50% promo is not really a promo since the mark up is to high compared to the main branch in Pasay. Overall experience is ok but if you want more fine dining feels I suggest the best place is the main branch
I still regard this as the best of best (so does most filchis in the metro I bet). You come here not for something new or something exciting but rather for its consistency, predictability, and something that just says you're home. The place has only gotten better in time especially after its recent renovation about 10 years ago.
Food is still the same and you'll definitely have to spend a lot for the quality picks. If there's anything I need to complain about is how poorly lit the area is especially the dimsum and hotpot areas. Also there's something about their ageing hotpot booths, the cushions just aren't befitting for the bill you'll pay for afterwards. I
