Date of visit: March 14, 2020
It was the night before the community quarantine began last March 2020. My parents wanted us to have dinner before dropping us home. We went to look for a restaurant but some were already closed (on a Saturday night). We went to Melo's to check if they're still open and luckily, they were. They were already practicing social distancing since the tables are placed far from each other. There was even a divider placed between our table and the other diners. Staff were also wearing masks and alcohols/hand sanitizers were available.
We ordered the following: Baked Oyster Rockefeller, steak and pumpkin soup. I don't really like oysters but I tried one and it's good. The cheese wasn't overpowering. The pumpkin soup wasn't too creamy but I liked that they added crabmeat strips for texture. I forgot what specific steak we ordered. It was just okay for me - I liked the side dish (potatoes) more.
Looking for a Menu for Mother’s Day? Go for Certified Angus Prime Salpicao with Aglio Olio or Angus Rice from Melo’s. Since this was a delivery, I had the tender and juicy Salpicao in three separate meals. The rice was a savory meal in itself!
always a family favorite! servers are very attentive, food is always spot on. Steaks are cooked to your liking (just like all steakhouses). There are also times when they cut the part and weigh it in front of you to see that you’re getting what you paid for.
This branch is always quiet and has a good feel for celebrating a special occasion! Melo’s do get bad reviews as the price is just excessive if you are dining without a promo. Expect to pay at least 4k or more per person and for those wanting value for money, go to an expensive buffet and still have your money’s worth!
I don't understand why other people are giving Melo's low-star ratings because we had a really pleasant experience dining there. We ordered ribeye and their surf and turf. Complimentary bread were refillable. You just have to ASK. Loved the taste of the free mushroom soup and their caesar salad was just right.
Can I say that I loved their steak, too? We didn't need any sauce to go with it because it was so flavorful on its own! Hefty serving too as I had to bring home some of my leftovers.
Don't be swayed by the comments here. Yes, pricey but you definitely get what you pay for.
Would like to commend Jon-Jon for being patient with us when we asked for better steak knives. 😊 He was funny and accommodating.

My love for steak is well-known. Well-documented, even. Consider the steak escapes I blogged about here: Mad Mark’s in Glorietta, Mad Mark’s in BGC, Artsy Cafe and the steak spread at Marriott Cafe buffet. I even ask my relatives coming home from the States to bring home slabs of Stateside beef to be grilled here.
I didn't expect the interiors of Melo's to look like a fine dining restaurant since it looked like an ordinary house from the outside. We got the escargot and we all really enjoyed it. It was so good and probably the dish I liked the most! The calamari was really good as well. I also liked the seafood and clam chowder. It wasn't overwhelming and it tasted just right.
As for the steak and lobster, I liked it as well. I got the Australian Steak and it was very tender and soft. The lobster was really good and I liked their lemon sauce for it. I'll have to say that it was a great meal but I feel like I could get more for the same price in different restaurants.
Tucked away from the street is Melo's, just across ABS-CBN. As you enter, you'll be greeted with a slightly dim-lit room giving an air of class and coziness to it. Tables are arranged in such a way that the guests have enough privacy from all the rest. For starter, they served us their complimentary bread and butter, which is unexpectedly good. Then came our order; escargot and pumpkin soup for appetizer, wagyu ribeye grade 7-8 and CAB tenderloin steaks. The steaks are mouthwateringly good. Probably the best tasting steak I've ever had; no sauce needed just plain old salt and pepper. The dining experience is a bit pricey, but you get all your money's worth because the food is insanely good.
Hey I'm back! :) anyways, we went to Melo's for lunch a while ago and for the first time, I really enjoyed eating steak.
The place is kind of small and hard to find specially if you don't have Waze or a gps with you. It looks crowded with lots of tables, chairs and some cabinets plus it looks really old but still fancy. I think it would be fancier dining here at night than in the afternoon. The waiters were very attentive and accommodating (maybe because there were only two groups of customers dining during that time?).
The bread was okay and nothing really special. We ordered oyster Rockefeller and they find it good (I don't eat oysters so... But it did look good!). Then we had cream of asparagus for our soups and I liked it actually. Then we had the salad which I found more delicious than the soup (I wonder that the dressing is). Then the steak. We had their Wagyu Tenderloin Grade 12 Foie Gras with redwine and cranberry sauce and it was so good! It's soft and full of flavors. I love the cranberry sauce plus the mashed potato! The carrots and asparagus were fresh and the steak is cooked perfectly. It was very juicy I finished it even if I was already full! Then we had dessert that looked very fancy and delicious at the same time! I liked the food but I hope they kind of fix the place up! 🍴🍴🍴
I'll just start by saying the place is the definition of Fine Dining. When you come in, you will be greeted by the waiters. The place had carpets and fountains.
We ordered the Aged Steaks and let me just say that it was the best. Ive never appreciated stakes so much before that. It was prepared and cooked perfectly.
The place is surely pricey but you get what you pay for.
