Best food that I've had during my 3 weeks in Manila!
The tastiest tuna jaw EVER. I crave their panga with their special sauce + ginataang kalabasa every week.
This reataurant offers affordable Grilled Panga to satisfy your cravings. I usually order this with Tuna Kilawin as a partner. A must-try if you found yourself within the area.
Hoooooy! You should really try this dish man! If you're a seafood lover this is a must try dish. The panga is so big you can actually share it with two of your friends. The taste is rich it seems that its a bit coated with calamansi and soy sauce as they grilled it which the meat just absorbed the sauce inside. Really want to dine in here some time!
Good food...kind staff and still good food.....those tuna panga is fresh and delicious...with their aligue rice....that makes it more enjoyable
A decent sized restaurant in the Blue Ridge and Katipunan Extension area not far from the original Banapple, Hoy Panga! is a funny sounding name but it is also a funny and memorable one. Obvious to locals that it is a pun for the words "Hoy Tanga" (Hey, Stupid), "panga" refers to its specialty which is tuna jaw (panga = jaw).
And though I don't have the tuna jaw often, theirs is very flavorful, well seasoned and contains plenty of good tuna meat. That's why it's such a beloved part in both the Japanese and local cuisine, a perfect part for the seafood lovers wanting more than the usual.
Incredibly affordable, usually packed and good value for money, it's a very simple interior with a chaotic yet somehow well oiled bit of operation. It's a nice neighborhood resto for seafood and other Filipino food. They did forget one order of ours for their specialty rolls. They say it's good bit we'll never know.
Setting that aside, it's everything Tuna with takes like Tuna Sisig and Sinigang, so it's highly recommended for tuna lovers.
Ordered the adobong kangkong here for take out because I was craving kangkong that day. It was really good. Customer service is also good 👍
We went here to have our dinner and the place was full during that time. We waited for a few minutes to be seated. We ordered their inihaw na tuna and tuna sisig. It was all good and the price is reasonable.
I've been following Bogart the Explorer thru Social Media for quite some time and I have seen posts about this restaurant. I suggested to my Fiance to eat here this Valentine's day. We ordered a large sized tuna panga, red egg salad, eggplant ensalada and bulad rice. The rice was 'buhaghag' and i really didn't mind because it was darn tasty. The tuna panga was grilled well but there was quite alot of char in the skin. The sidings were yummy - complimenting the calamansi. Over all we finished everything in one seating. We'll definitely come back to try their other dishes

I find this resto's tongue-in-cheek decor very interesting: Bogart the Explorer showing up in various historical events are displayed in big photos hanging on the walls. Other than that, the place is pretty much no-frills. Even the food is pretty straightforward: grilled tuna panga and belly, best enjoyed with white rice and the soy sauce and kalamansi sawsawan. I hope they upgrade their rice to a better texture though.
I love the simplicity of the place with the food amazing. Yes? It’s mostly Tuna and they serve all possible Tuna combinations you can think of. First we had the Sinigang. It reminisce with me the time mom used to make it when I was young. It’s sour just right with Tuna complementing well.
I highly recommend their Seafood Kare-kare! It is beyond amazing. Flavorful and satisfying. I didn't mind that 3 cups of rice at all :p I will be back for this for sure.
