Great for balikbayans, family gatherings and casual catch-up with friends, Gerry's grill has been churning out delicious filipino dishes for as long as I can remember. Though widely visible in Manila and beyond, it's surprising that I have only visited the place a handful times.
For our group lunch, we got the famous pork sisig, the "pampabata" crispy pata, bangus ala pobre, lumpiang shanghai, Kare-Kare, ensaladang mangga, adobong puso ng saging, the grilled tuna belly and my favorite, grilled squid! It was an all-filipino banquet and each dish had its own thing going for it. The sisig had the perfect crunch to it was really savory. The cripsy pata was tender and fried to perfection. The lumpiang shanghai was also a winner though it tasted a bit like Jollibee. Kare-kare was not tough to chew and it had a nutty flavor complimented by the shrimp paste (bagoong). The bangus was also good as it had a buttery taste. The grilled tuna belly and the squid were not overcooked. Both were done masterfully and tasted fresh. Ensalada and puso ng saging complimented the other dishes nicely.
Been here with my marriott fam to chill and celebrate the completion of my OJT. Sadly we don’t get to order food from their menu (oops there’s one-dynamite hehe) since my kuyas are not into filipino food that time hehe. We just ordered buckets of beer and have the food from yellow cab instead, which is permitted because we’re sitting al fresco.
Gerrys still okay especially their all-time favorites grilled tuna belly and grilled squid. Kare kare had a generous portion of meat. Tinomok is also a favorite of foreign guests.
