Good and delicouous food, good people like the place 👍🏼
Delicious food and cozy place
Great tasting Filipino food! Ambiance is great and good for families/big groups. Food portions were smaller than expected (was told that the "medium"was size was good for 3-4 people but I think it's more for 2-3). I also couldn't use my Zomato Gold. Apparently, to avail the 1+1 Food, everything you order has to be below P300 each. So even if you had one item that was over P300, you couldn't use your Gold promo.
As a filipino growing up, I've tried different filipino dishes. When I tried Phatchick, I was amazed how innovative the dishes that was served. People should definitely go here to try the different dishes that Phatchick provides.
My top 5 at Phatchick are: Tapa Rice - you can eat it on it's own, it's similar to an on-the-go rice in a box type but it's not for on the go. 2. Crab Fat Gambas - the coconut milk and crab fat absorved in the shrimp, would sugget if they addded a piece of bread on the side to clean out the sarsa.
3. Humbang Lechon - simply delicious, it's great paired with the tapa rice. 4. Corned Beef Sinigang - reminisced on how my buddies and I used to cook it, but this has more flavour. 5. Oysters - I just love seafood, and the cheese was great as well, I don't know what they added to make it more tasty but I loved it.
This place reminds me of the Red Hot Chili Pepper Song under the bridge, why? because It is literally under the bridge adjoining 2 wings of the Festival Mall. That fact though should not dissuade the ever enthusiastic diner to dine here. The location adds novelty to the experience of dining in this confusingly interior decorated restaurant, but all of that just perks up the charm of Phat chick because like Shallow Hal your tastebuds will discover something wonderful beneath the exterior of this diamond in the rough. Here are my top 3 recommended dishes here at Phat Chick:
1.) Baked Oysters - Fresh and perfectly baked this fab favorite gets a further boost from all the cheese it got drizzled with. This is perhaps the cheesiest naked oysters I’ve had, tears wont dribble down your cheeks because of mushy cliche’s, it will be your taste buds triggering it.
2.) Sisig : it’s fresh it’s crunchy and like the name of the establishment it’s severed in, its Fat. Now some folks won’t like sisig swimming in cooking oil but their version somehow tickles a certain kind of fancy.
3.) Corn beef Sinigang - There is a saying that Journalism is literature in a hurry, well their version of Sinigang swapping corned beef with brisket is a brilliant invention of human necessity. To be clear though Phat Chick didn’t create the dish, but they have done it so well that you might think otherwise. The brought has the right sour tamarind kick, and the corned beef perfectly subs the brisket. It mimics the fall of the bone consistency of beef while incorporating the savory texture of the canned staple.
I've been eyeing this resto even before they changed its name for Skewered to Phatchick. I'm quite late to discover that they are now serving FIlipino favorites too, with a theme of modern fiesta and colorful banderitas display in their dining area.
They have broad choices of pica pica, sabaw, ulam, pasta and even sharing platters.
Top three favorites are:
3pcs Oysters 199 + 60 gratin(cheese)
Freshly baked oysters with generous toppings of cheese. I can eat the 3 pcs all by myself.
Lechon Sisig 249
The best of both worlds, Imagine the crispy lechon turned into a sisig. It's quite challenging to maintain the crispiness of lechon and yes they nailed it!
Corned beef sinigang 289
I like its same sour taste of sinigang with a hint of sweetness from the watermelon. House made corned beef was tasty too.
Some of Phatchick dishes that we have tried are:
Humbang Lechon 369
The sauce is soo delicious and goes well with plain rice.
Signature Fried Chicken 499
The usual taste of fried chicken, I hope they can add something that can make this dish unique.
Tapa Rice 299
The rice was kinda mushy for my taste, the tapa toppings are delicious
Sisig Carbonara 219
I love the creamy taste of their carbonara, the noodles were cooked right
Soft Shell Tacos 199
I've noticed that Sisig is one of thier most used ingredients in their menu. By the way, they serve really good tasting sisig
Crispy Crablets 189
A good beer match pica-pica, consumed it fast as it tends to loose its crispiness
Pinakbet 169
The classic Ilocano veggies dish with lechon toppings
Inihaw na Tuna Panga 399
Marinated to perfection Tuna panga
Chicken wings 179
Small pieces of tasty chicken wings, one order is kinda pricey for me.
The alternative wasys to fully enjoy this dish is to Avail their Wings on Wednesday: Buy 1 Take 1 on Wings every Wednesdays valid from Mon. to Thu, until 31 Oct, 2019
Halo Halo Frappe 199
This sweet ending treat is good for sharing. It has milky taste of a frappe with generous ingredients of the usual halo halo.
Give this resto a chance and see for yourself!
Formerly known as Skewered, which is located near the bridge of expansion wing of Festival Mall.
Let's start with their appetizers, we had the Soft Shell Tacos with sisig fillings and the Crispy Crablets. Their version of Oysters with oozing with cheese were so good. Chicken wings were quite small yet very tasty especially the Buffalo.
Personal favorite was the Crab Fat Gambas, imagine those juicy prawns cooked in crab fat, the coconut milk added to its special taste too.
One of their must-try dish is the Corned Beef Sinigang, I love the comforting taste of its soury soup, the corned beef was made inhouse.
If you love sisig, go for their Lechon Sisig and Sisig Carbonara both are my personal favorites. The Lechon Sisig was really crispy and packed with amazing flavors.
Humbang Lechon goes well with a plain rice, their version of Pinakbet has a toppings of succulent lechon. Signature Fried Chicken was tender and juicy.
For desserts, we had the
Halo Halo Frappe which has really generous ingredients. I love its creamy taste too!
I will definitely comeback to Phatchick!
Fil-Mex vibes. Been wanting to try this resto for a long time now before they rebranded to "Phatchick", also this is my first ever resto in the Water Garden area I've ever dined to!
Modern Filipino comfort food, here I come! For the appetizers, we had the soft shell tacos, baked oysters, and crispy crablets. The baked oysters were so gooood!!! I'd honestly have the whole plate all for myself (lol) and also I can't get enough of the crispy crablets. The mini tacos are also a delight!
For the mains-- chicken wings, crab fat gambas, lechon sisig, pinakbet, corned beef sinigang, humbang lechon, inihaw na panga ng tuna, their signature fried chicken, tapa rice, and sisig carbonara. My personal faves (can't choose one!) were the Crab Fat Gambas and Humbang Lechon. That is the first ever gambas I've tried that has coconut milk on it, while the Humba--- ughhh I can't even remember when I last had Humbaaa!!! Love their Humba so much. The Corned Beef Sinigang was delish too, and also the amount of Tapa Rice served to us was generous. Their chicken tasted similar to one of those pioneer chicken restos here in the Metro, which is a good thing.
For the dessert, their halo halo frappe special, I didn't have a chance to try it bcus I was so full! (with the carbs and all, haha)
As some might know, Festival Mall is really enormous and the restaurants here are also sprouting like mushrooms. The location of the resto is a bit hard to find, but when you dined at their Al Fresco area-- it's majestic, especially at night. At the Lower Ground Floor, Expansion Wing: when you reach the bridge, turn right and you'll find them. Check them out at their official FB page for their map!
Would love to come back!
Phatchick (formerly known as Skewered) modern filipino style food (which is directly competing with Gerry's Grill and Giligans) with mix influences of Spanish and Mexican-American flavors. Night menu is different and it includes cocktail and alcoholic drinks.
What I love about Phatchick is their festive set up inside and the decorations on the wall. It feels stuffy though, afterwards.
Pinakbet - I love how they make it simple with the classic taste topped with pork slices. The taste is average, a bit salty.
Tapa Rice - for P299 this is sulit, with the 3-4 servings each. This dish is tasty as well.
Gambas - it tastes good, I just don't like gata.
Chicken Platter - their chicken platter tastes like Max's which is certainly good.
Chicken Wings - it's good but nothing special
Corned Beef Sinigang - overall I like the presentation, the tangy taste of watermelon added the kick to the overall taste of Corned Beef. Definitely a strong one. Hopefully they highlighted this one more.
Halo Halo Frappe - I like how they present this one. But it's a bit pricey for one serving at P199 each.
Inihaw na Panga ng Tuna - Normal.
Oyster - Grabeee heaven sa sarap.
Room for improvement. Overall the food is okay but they need something that can set them apart from the others. Will definitely go back to taste the others dishes.
We had Wagyu Brisket, Corned Beef Sinigang, Lechon Pork Belly, and Plain Rice Platter.
At first, we were hesitant to go in because there were no other people inside. Hubby thought “not a good sign!” but we went in anyway due to the good reviews here on Zomato.
Quick turnaround. All our orders were served about 10mins after.
The WAGYU BRISKET is soft and very tasty. It is paired with what resembles as Rack’s bbq sauce.
The LECHON PORK BELLY is hubby’s instant favorite. The skin is very crispy and cooked to perfection.
The CORNED BEEF SINIGANG is also good. Natural sampaloc was used and the veggies are half cooked which we liked. Good serving too.
Only turnoff was the serving size of the rice platter. It is expensive at P159.
The overall experience is good though. We will be back!
I felt the tastebof the oregano in the Sweet Bolognese pasta is too empowering, but still good.
BLT sandwhich is just okay, I like the mayo generously lathered on the bread. Very tasty.
And just how can I get over the Cheesy Sisig Burger?! I never knew how the sisig resonates perfectly on the cheesy sauce.
Price is quite reasonable especially if it's on Zomato Gold.
To Zomato Gold users, you can avail any ala carte food except any amount greater than 400.
Super sulit and the food is great!! Try the tapa rice. Feels like you dont need other ulam for this dish. Kasi ok na sya alone. But of course its still best with other ulams. Will defenitly come back.
