This time around I tried their Brown Sugar Milk Tea. My first time to try cream cheese was with Happy Lemon when you should drink it without a straw. I got confused because Gong Cha had covers, how do you drink it? At first sip, I didn’t like it. I drank all tea. But when I purposely mixed them together, I realized there was the magic. Shake before drinking!

3 reasons why I had to have Gong Cha this week even though I am a big Yi Fang Brown Sugar Pearl Tea Latte fan:
1) I saw the lifesize standee of Park Seo Joon endorsing the drink. Yes, I am a Kdrama fan and have watched 2 of his dramas (which are actually romantic comedy ones) and enjoyed it.
2) Saw a sign that there was a price roll back for the Pearl Milk Tea at only ₱95 for a large one.
3) I recently read somewhere that Gong Cha’s pearl milk tea recently topped a blind taste test (and Yi Fang faired last!!!) so I was intrigued to be reunited with its taste to find out again if I agree with the result.
Verdict: I still love Yi Fang’s Brown Sugar Pearl Tea Latte more. I have a sweet tooth and love their sweet pearls. BUT I am still giving Gong Cha (Megamall) a rating of 4 for the following reasons:
1. The price is reasonable at ₱95 for a large sized drink.
2. Taste wise of the milk tea, it is actually good (but the pearls have no taste which some may say is how they are supposed to be but I like them sweet. To each his own.)
3. The service was fast even though there was a line.
4. There was ample seating for customers (although I think it needs some updating as the premises look old/ outdated).
So will I be back for more Gong Cha? Yes, I will! Also because there aren’t a lot of Yi Fang branches so most likely there will be Gong Cha but no Yi Fang nor Coco (or if may Coco, super haba naman the line) hehe.
