Life as we know it has come to a halt. If you know me, you know that I love going out with friends on weekends, most of the time to east our or attend foodie events. All travels and events have been cancelled, I’m working from home now and stayed put over the weekend (and probably until after this crisis has been contained).
In a city that has been inundated with new unlimited Korean barbecue joints, I am always on the lookout for a place that offers more than just the usual unli-samgyupsal with a smattering of very basic banchan. I am a fan of Korean food in general so I was very pleased to see that GEONBAE MODERN KOREAN BAR & GRILL offers the best of both worlds.
Undeniably the best Korean barbecue restaurant I've been to. I've been here lots of times already but Geonbae never disappoints. I love everything here!! Always worth the travel.
The charm of unlimited meat is undeniably strong. It's so attractive that numerous Korean BBQ chains opened these past years. There are those priced unbelievably affordable while others market its brands as premium. The newer K-BBQ stores made things more interesting by offering the best of Korean and Japanese cuisines. Unli Korean BBQ joints abound in the metro. So much so that one may be challenged in distinguishing one resto’s offerings from another’s. Well, Geonbae Modern Korean Bar & Grill will make sure that you remember it well. Geonbae translates to “empty glass” which has the same meaning as the expression “bottom’s up.” The name is quite apt because here, you and your friends can eat and drink to the good times.
This unlimited Korean hub was packed from the time our foodie group stepped in after lunch to the early evening. Geonbae gives you more reasons to consider them over its many competitions.
For just Php 649, diners have eat all you can access to nine appetizers, three kinds of soup, nine usual sides, twenty different types of meat, and eight special entrees, with six kinds of Korean dishes in stone bowls.
Customers are given ample time to enjoy, with 3 hours using a unique QR code to order from their seats. How convenient and cool, right?
Geonbae also has Shabu Shabu, and this is a welcome change if you want to take a break from all the grilling.

It was overwhelming to try Geonbae's P649.00 menu but for me, it was sulit, especially when you're with friends and you take turns grilling the meat for everyone's happiness of the Korean BBQ experience.
As for the service, I find it innovative to see the menu in just a (QR) scan away. Also, for your convenience, you don't have to raise your hand just to get a waiter. You can just tap/chat your concern in their system (via the mobile (they will teach you how) and your query/request will reach their database.
As for the place, it looks like a house converted into a restaurant. My only concern is the slippery floor.

I love the salmon sashimi, Hanger Steak, beef bulgogi, and the other beef variants. Be sure to set the fire/heat to moderate level when cooking chicken meat or it'll get burned.

I’d give their meat and side dishes 10/10. They also offer unli sashimi so it’s more of a korean buffet. Their price is more than satisfactory. Will always come back
