My family had been meaning to eat here since our friends did and the experience was great! The servers were accomodating, and very welcoming. The food might be a little expensive but its worth it!!! I loved the sushi's a lot and I stuck to eating my normal pick of ramen and rice bowls but I'll definitely try something out of comfort zone next time
Ambiance feels like authentic Japanese izakaya. I think the owner is Japanese. We ordered tamagoyaki, yakitori, omurice, chicken cheese katsu and katsudon. Overall, food was good. We especially enjoyed Tamagoyaki, yakitori and chicken cheese katsu. For the Omurice, I wish there was less ketchup and more meat/veggies in the rice. The presentation looks great though. We'll probably visit again to try other dishes.
So far one of the best Japanese restaurant in QC! A must try place and pretty sure you will love the taste of their food.

My go to japanese izakaya in project 8. Their wagyu cubes are very delicious. The owner and servers are very engaging. Order usuallu takes a while to come out but the quality and taste justify the long wait.
Wagyu cubes, yakitori and salmon sashime are my usual orders.

Our go-to place whenever we are craving for authentic jap food. Our must-haves everytime we dine here : Salmon sahimi, wagyu, grilled saury, grilled salmon, karaage and yakitori. Best to experience this on their tatami room.
The wagyu saikono was divine! It was tender & perfectly seasoned! The yaki-salmon & ebi tempura were perfectly cooked as well. Yakitori dishes were very good; we had the torimomo, ninnikuma, buta-kashka & buta-bara. They had an interesting selection of ice cream...a bit pricey but well worrh it.
You have to come early as there’s limited parking & seats. But I will definitely come back to try out their other dishes.
This is our to go place for authentic Japanese food. We find the price reasonable as to its taste and authenticity. The food were cooked by their Japanese Owner, Kakashi (Not sure with the name) Also, Miss Janet is very attentive to the needs of their restaurant goers.
My favorite food are the following:
Okonomiyaki
Gyudon
Sanma-Shioyaki
Wagyu
Edamame
Maki
Sushi
They also serve ice cream from Japan, and it tastes good but on the pricey side, pero worth it!
I don't mind going here over and over again.
Good thing, they have already expanded their restaurant space few years ago and added some parking slots too.

Food: We ordered ebi tempura, uni sushi, salmon sushi, salmon unidon, kani salad. Everything's quite good except that they forgot to drain the water on the kani salad after they washed the veggies.
Service: Service is kinda slow, but servers are polite. They also look neat and welcoming. They greet as customers enter and leave.
Ambience: The place is packed and interior has a japanese vibe. However its a bit cramped.
Price: The price is cheaper than most japanese restos.
Accesibility and hours: Place is open from 5pm to 1am. They also have their own parking space. The place is somewhere in Mindanao Ave, probably not very accessible to people who takes public transpos.
Will I eat here again? Yes. Whenever I feel like eating authentic japanese cuisine.
Must try: Salmon Uni Don. 😍😍😍
The wife's owner is really sociable and nice. And the food is really good, everything tastes like authentic Japanese food. And I can say it is a gem.
One of our go to restaurants everytime we eat out. I rarely rate restaurants but with shonantei i'll make an exception. Food is always incredible, food is quality and the price is pocket friendly.
The owners and crew are friendly and very accommodating.
Well, to end my review ive got nothing bad on the place. Try it out! I promise you wont regret it other than you spending way too much money on eating out so much at shonantei hahaha!
