We spent last night’s dinner at La Vita in Podium. It was a great experience! Ambiance was great, waiters were attentive even if we were a large group, and food was delicious.

I especially loved the mushroom soup, beef carpaccio and their squid ink pasta! So good ❤️

Pizza was not bad because of the huge burrata but I’ve tasted better in other restos. Their other dishes really stood out though.

Great Italian place over all.

Good Italian restaurant with authentic flavors! We had Melanzane alla Parmigiana - eggplant in Pomodoro sauce with parmigiano. Good antipasti. Followed by Rigatoni al sugo di salsiccia - ground Italian sausage in tomato sauce. And Pizza Regina Margherita - tasty pizza with fresh tomato, mozzarella and basil. Enjoyed all the dishes!

Bright, spacious, modern, and very clean, quite enjoyable surrounding for nice meal. The staff was very helpful, they were very attentive and would wheel my father in law (he is wheelchair bound), towards the bathroom whenever needed.

Had the salad which was wonderful, the scallops, the seafood soup, the carbonara (no cream and very authentic), the wagyu steak, the four cheese pizza, the burrata pizza, the octopus carpaccio, the beef carpaccio and the lamb chops (which were wonderful), and a nice bottle of Amarone, and we were quite the happy group. Everything was very good, but the evening favorites were the salad, the octopus carpaccio, the seafood soup, the scallops, the lamb chops, and the bottle of amarone.

Must visit in my opinion.

Had a couple of things: Their My Way Salad was good, but a bit too salty with the anchovies and the caviar, and I'm not entirely sure their portion sizes for their salads are justified with the price. Their Mista Di Stagione salad was a bit more balanced, but I like the former better. Their octopus carpaccio was good, but I think I would have wanted a bit more flavor, but it's generally okay.

Their pizzas were just okay to me, had the burrata pizza and the four cheese pizza. The burrata pizza I didn't love, the burrata just felt bland and didn't really add anything to the pizza, while the pizza itself was extremely plain. And given that, it feels especially overpriced. Their four cheese is better.

I liked their pastas the best, got to try the squid ink pasta, which I liked the best; as well as the Linguine Allatavolara and their pappardelle with saffron. I liked the Allatavolara better than the pappardelle, I feel like their pappardelle is a touch too thin, and the sauce was just fine to me.

We also had their lamb chop and their tenderloin marsala, both were fine, their mash is quite nice. The tenderloin wasn't very soft, the lamb chop is definitely better.

I would say to go here for the pastas more than anything else, since that's what they seem to be best at.  I think it's generally okay, prices are so so, you just have to get the right things

The four cheese pizza was really good. The cheese to bread ratio in thickness was 4:1. Super sulit. We had it with the chorizo, which cut through the cheese taste very well.

The risotto we had was pretty good too.

The only bad thing about this place was the staff were slow at the start. Very nice, but very slow.

The Podium Mall continues to build crowds despite being in the proximity of three bigger malls in Megamall, Shangri-La and Robinson’s Galleria. They have found a clear niche, you go to them when in search of upscale, one of a kind restaurants and retail establishments.

A new member is La Vita, an authentic Italian hub led by Chef Maurizio Gibillini. He utilizes imported ingredients in curating straightforward recipes that are simple yet delicious.

On salads, go for two varieties, classic Caesar with home-made mayonnaise, anchovies, fresh dill, and caviar (called My Way) or the Carpaccio Di Polipo Alla Sarda, an artisanal plate of cooked octopus paired with Arugula in Italian vinaigrette, garlic, chili, and parsley.

If you’re here with a group of friends, the counter near the entrance can curate you a platter of cured meats and cheeses. Ours was at Php 750, good for 4-6 pax. La Vita also has a wide selection of white and red wine.

For mains, we had quite a fill of the staple pasta and pizza combination. It was loads of good carbs!

The Pizza Con Burrata Fresca was the star, a thin, chewy crust topped with soft, fresh cream made of Italian cheese. Spread it while it’s still hot. Our group had Mortadella E Cacciofi too, cream-based for a change with mozzarella and large cuts of artichoke and mortadella. La Vita also has the familiar Quattro Formaggi (mozzarella, gorgonzola, caciocavallo, fresh parmesan cheese), and you can have additional Chorizo for just Php 60 more.

On pasta, what stood out were two bowls, truffle rich Pappardelle Alla Crema di Tartufo and the spicy, seafood-based, Spaghetti Allo Scoglio. Chef Gibillini prepares pasta from scratch.

Leave space for dessert, please! A winner in my book are the melt in your mouth, Pannacotta Miele al Profumo di Tartufo and the Dark Chocolate Mousse in a tall glass. Both are just Php 280 each.

La Vita is Italian for The Life. Food made with much passion and love is life personified.

NEW RESTO ALERT!

It was like being in Italy again. Not that I have been to the whole country.

Some years back the handsome hubby and I were in Rome for a few days, just enough to whet the appetite for more Italian sojourns in the future.

But La Vita transported my taste buds to the Land of Pizza and Pasta and was a nagging reminder to return to la dolce vita presto...

Ever since it reopened, Podium has been busy upping its dining options. With some of my favorites in place, this mall brought in a few more international brands as well as new names. One of which is La Vita, an Italian restaurant headed by Chef Maurizio Gabillini. It may be new in the neighborhood but word that it offers authentic Italian fare spread out fast making this new spot very busy during lunch and dinner.

Looved the ambiance of this place. The interiors make you feel you’re dining in a hotel. I only ordered the tiramisu because I had a dinner appointment at another place but that dessert was exceptional and I can’t wait to go back to try their food. The orange rinds give just the right freshness and tang to balance the mascarpone and coffee liqueur. 👏🏼
