I enjoyed my meal here with friends and family a few days ago. The food was delicious and authentic so I found the prices justifiable. Definitely going back here because the ambience was very chill and the food was good.

My boyfriend and I had our Valentine’s dinner in Sen-Ryo and we were very satisfied with our meal!

First off, the ambience of the place was perfect for the occasion. The restaurant had just the right lighting and it’s decorations were fitting with the whole vibe of the restaurant.

We ordered the Shogun Roll, Grilled Wagyu Beef, Shrimp Tempura, and Cold Soba.

The Shogun Roll was hands-down the best thing we ordered that night! The combination of the flavors was great and the crispy bits from the tempura provided texture. We’ll definitely order this again!

The shrimp tempura was good too! The shrimp was very plump and big so the shrimp to batter ratio was good. The batter wasn’t very heavy which made the whole dish very light.

My boyfriend ordered the cold soba and he said he enjoyed it! The serving was huge too so that’s a plus.

However, the Wagyu Beef was a bit disappointing. The serving was so small for it’s price. We only got 4 very thin slices of the beef. Flavor was okay but it just tasted like normal beef. The meat was very soft though!

Lastly, service was great! All the waiters were attentive and nice. Overall, it was a good experience and we’ll try the other rolls and nigiri next time!

If you are looking for an authentic Japanese food in the heart of Ortigas, Sen-ryo is the best place to be. The freshness of its quality and the authenticity of its flavor. My fave will have to be the Shogun rolls and Nigiri. Definitely my new go-to place when in Podium.

Our first impression upon arriving at Sen Ryo was just wow. We really loved their interiors with the wooden accents and all. We were seated at the very spacious second floor of the restaurant. We ordered the Salmon Skin Salad ( dressing and the salmon was so good), Salmon Nigiri with Crispy Bacon ( sadly the bacon was tough), shrimp roll and the assorted tempura. Overall, a good place to have japanese food in the Podium if you can afford it as its a bit expensive 😉

First time trying Senryo and I absolutely loved our experience there! The fish was really fresh, so I loved all the nigiri and sushi rolls we had. The grilled unagi was really good, so was the tempura. The prawn pieces were huge, and not "only batter." The four slices of wagyu for P680, I feel was a reasonable price for wagyu. But it didn't taste like anything to me, so that was kind of a disappointment, but the main stars were the sushi, because the fish really tasted luscious and fresh.

In this post: Salmon Skin Salad, Seared Salmon with Cheese, Golden Dragon Roll, Shogun Roll, Tempura Udon, Shrimp Tempura

Originating from Tokyo, Japan, branching out to Hong Kong and Shanghai, Sen-Ryo opened its first branch in the Philippines last November 30, 2019 and it can be found at the Ground Level, The Podium Mall, Mandaluyong City. Simple yet elegant, the facade resembles a makisu, or the mat used to make sushi. Inside is a mix of tall seats and comfy couches.

Japanese cuisine lovers rejoice! The same owners who brought you Mango Tree, Genki Sushi, Cocina Peruvia, and Kureji is opening the first branch of Sen-ryo in the Philippines on November 30, 2019 at the Ground Level of The Podium Mall in Mandaluyong City.

Sen-ryo is a premium sushi concept from Tokyo, Japan, which strives to offer authentic Japanese fare combining the freshest ingredients, traditional techniques, and modern technology to deliver the culinary mastery and sushi-making artistry that the brand has become so well-known for around the world. With an appreciation for Sen-ryo in Japan, the owners decided to share the happiness that the concept brings to the Philippine market. Sen-ryo prides itself with having the best nigiri, sashimi, and kushiyaki, among other mouthwatering dishes. Only the freshest ingredients flown in from Japan are used to prepare each Sen-ryo dish with the utmost care, passion and artistry of the Japanese chefs.

The store’s interiors showcase simple materials such as wood and metal used in unique and unusual ways—transforming them into inspiring pieces that give the restaurant a luxe yet relaxed atmosphere. Inspired by nature, the owners chose wood shaped like waves to represent the flow of water. Every detail—from the plates and cutlery, to the décor and lights were specially chosen to transform the space into one of elegance and simplicity. With two private horigotatsu rooms (a traditional Japanese table that has a recessed floor beneath it) and one private room at the mezzanine level, guests are sure to enjoy an intimate dining experience. Sen-ryo accommodates up to 120 guests.

History of Sen-ryo

It all started in 1968 when Mr. Fumio Saito created kaiten sushi—or revolving sushi, in Japan. Bringing in elements of modern technology to complement the nobility of traditional sushi, Mr. Saito popularized this culture of sushi and soon extended its reach to the rest of the world. With the art of edo-mae (handmade sushi) and contemporary kaiten sushi, Sen-ryo has evolved from a traditional culture to a modern art form.

Sen-ryo is also located in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.

My favorite sushi from Hong Kong and Japan is finally here!! I was so excited to try it out, the interiors were so cozy and pretty (very instagrammable). And the food was awesome! Tried the otoro and the wagyu, and my friends also had the maki rolls. We all loved it!
