Awesome food. Value for money. Homey ambience. Big servings. For families and group meals. Will keep coming back here
Cheap but tastes so good! The Xiao Long Bao is at par with big commercial restaurants!
Yummy food and affordable prices, perfect value for money!
We had hot and sour soup, xiao long bao, and tofu!
Their xiao long bao rivals that of Din Tai Fung's!
We went here to eat Xiao long bao, try their beef kenchi and the salt and pepper fried tofu. I pretty love these food, because they are delicious for me, the xiao long bao is juicy, the beef kenchi was soft and the fried tofu was good also.
The scallion pancake is awesome, one of the best I’ve tried.
The Xiao long bao, stir fry shredded potato and black sesame dumplings are also good.
I love Su Zhou! I get my dumpling fix in three restaurants and Su Zhou is one of them ❤️
- Food is delicious and authentic-tasting!
- I highly recommend their xiao long bao & their shrimp pork dumpling.
- Dumpling size is HUGE. One order comes with 4 big pieces so it's good for sharing.
-Pricing is cheap! One order averages P100-P140.
- I also come here for their stir fried noodles with beef. I've tried Chinese food in CHINA and trust me, their beef noodles taste like it was cooked there. So good.
- They have a variety of choices in their menu.
- Only downside (for most) is the lack of ambiance in the restaurant. I personally don't mind though because I like how humble and simple it is. The yummiest dishes I've tried abroad came from similar hole-in-the-wall's and small restaurants.
- They accept card as payment so YAY
Do yourself a favor and enjoy a dimsum trip at Su Zhou! ❤️❤️❤️
Living just 4 blocks from this place, I'm a certified regular. Everytime I pass by this place going home, I start to crave for their food. Quaint, homey ambiance and great Chinese food, I'd eat here anyday over the more famous Chinese restos around. Before DTF came to Manila, I first tasted Xiao Long Bao here. I loved the broth and it's served fresh and hot everytime. And everytime I eat here, I order their Kuchay Dumplings! I'd say theirs are better than the ones I ate in Binondo. I can finish one order on my own. Haha! I also recommend the following:
Pancake with Spring Onions
Steamed Beef in Garlic
Spicy Fried Spareribs
Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup
Pork/Shrimp Vegetable Fried Rice
All servings are good for sharing for 2-3 persons. Well, I'd say 3. 2 if you are really hungry.
Whenever I'm in San Juan, craving for authentic chinese dimsum and specialties (that some people say closely resembles food from the province of Eastern China)... i will definitely look no further than Suzhou Dimsum along A.Mabini in San Juan. It's a small restaurant that serves very consistent chinese specialties, and don't forget...very tasty and delicious. Now let's cut to the chase:
Pancake w/ spring onions- classic flat yummy crispy pancake with chopped spring onions embedded in between...yummy. Pair it with the dark vinegar dipping sauce.
Salt and pepper fried tofu- perfect batter and crunch-love it.
Xiao Long Bao-yum...need i say more. Perfect with sliced ginger and vinegar dipping sauce.
Kuchay dumplings-another classic. 😊
..and would forget their famous vegetable fried rice-although a bit oily...yummy!
Oh...did i say most of their food is actually ...yummy? 😊
Serving time is not that quick but their loyal and friendly staff puts a smile on my face all the time.
I'm supposed to be full as i write, but remembering all this makes me hungry again. Till next time. 😊
I ordered their spicy fried chicken and I liked it a lot. The crispiness of the skin was very nice. Although I wish it was a tad spicier it was overall a great experience. I had a great deal of rice when I ate this dish.
I ordered their wonton noodle soup. It tasted good but nothing I have not tried in Northpark. Also, with the rise of specialty Ramen places across the metro, this takes a backseat to all those restaurants.
I have not had the pleasure of dining here just yet but I did pass their take out counter on the side for their xiao long baos. I love this dimsum of theirs and they offer a good number of them frozen to take home and steam yourselves at a really reasonable prize. Been here for these twice already and they are worth the money. Must try to dine in some time, but the place looks a bit small from the outside.
This is one of our regular restaurants we visit because it's so near our restaurant. If we are looking for comfort chinese food. This is where we eat.We always have the famous Siao Long Pao,Hot & Sour Soup,Onion Pancake,Cold Tofu with century egg,Steamed Beef w Garlic,Crispy fried chicken & the pork & vegetable rice.
i have not really tried much of their food. just their specialty xiao long bao (which they sell both cooked and frozen). i've tried just one other xiao long bao and this restaurant's version is soooo much better. i'll try their other dishes some other time and provide a review again but, for now, this review and my rating is purely based on that one dish i tried.
Whenever I just feel like eating out or just suddenly crave for some hot noodles, I would go to Suzhou Dumpling. It's walking distance from where I live. I always get the beef noodle soup and xiao long bao. They have one of the best beef noodle soups. They're comparable to Shi Lin and Yen Yen. The place may not be nice. In fact, quite small and very plain. But they have very reasonable and affordable prices. :) I haven't really tried other dishes in the menu, so I can't really say anything. Yet.
My co-workers and I are regulars at Suzhou Dimsums during some of our lunch meeting extensions. The serious meetings can really push you and get you starved and this place would really offer contentment to the tummy. We usually have Xiao Long Pao, Pan fried beef dumplings, Shallot oiled pancakes, Wuxi spare ribs and for the main meal, the Shrimp Pork Wanton Spicy Soup. Bring your handkechiefs. This one is really spicy and hot. The place is cozy and service is good. The only downside is the parking. Make sure you carpool when going to this restaurant coz parking is really limited. Eat, eat, eat!
For the longest time, Suzhou Dimsum is our favorite for its Xiao Long Bao. Depending on where we are close to, we either hit the Malate or Mandaluyong branch when we want our Xiao Long Bao fix. We like to eat at the original Malate hole-in-the-wall branch where the dimsums are actually made. However, after eating at Crystal Jade, could it be that there's a new favorite Xiao Long Bao in town? So we went back to Suzhou and see how this old favorite really compare.
Most of the foodies prefer the hole-in-the-wall charm of the original branch. Most of the time you'll see Chinese people enjoying lunch or having meetings here.
The Mandaluyong branch also is cozy and has a distinct homey appeal.
Xiao Long Bao is the Pork Dimsum with Pork soup inside. The Xiao Long Bao in this resto is much cheaper than Crystal Jade. I would say that the dimsum itself is much bigger. The issue here, and this is really a personal preference, you can't eat their dimsum in one bite because the skin is thicker. The soup taste doesn't have depth too.
We still love the Spicy Shrimp Pork Wanton dimsum wanton soup combinations of Suzhou specially the spicy ones :)
Soy Sauce Steamed Beef are Thin slices of beef with chili on top. Just order rice with this and you are solved.
Every time we eat in Malate, we would order frozen dimsum for pasalubong to friends/ family. Although Crystal Jade's Xiao Long Bao edges Suzhou in the taste category, we will still go back to Suzhou's hole-in-the-wall comfort food experience once in a while.
