A good lunch stop. Lor Mee and the Shredded pork was really good. I don't understand the other reviews calling out the serving sizes. I ordered a lunch set for myself but I think the size was good enough for 2 or even 3. Must try. I was the only one dining at the time so all their attention was on me, I couldn't ask for more. I also love the take out bag. :-)
PROS: Food is high quality and authentic, serving size is adequate, servers are attentive and prompt, place is clean, food presentation is unique eye-catching, ambiance is suitable for its price points.
CONS: There were too many waitstaff on the floor. Some seats/tables do not afford much privacy.
I found the noodles (Lor Mee and Bee Hoon)

By far my biggest food surprise of 2019, Putien is a refreshing addition to the Chinese food market scene. Locally, we have a vast number of “Cantonese” restaurants, easily dwarfing the numbers of Shanghainese, Szechuan, and Peking. Putien is known for their traditional Hokkien diets and I came away impressed. Perhaps it was the constant Peking duck or sweet and sour pork we would expect from a “Chinese” restaurant, a change was definitely needed. That’s why I truly appreciated Putien’s excellent Hokkien fare, from the bee hon noodles to the taro. Don’t forget to order the crabs and the pork buns as well!
Everything tasted so fresh, clean and authentic. Its become one of my favorite restaurants in mnl!
We liked our chicken n veggies meal here a lot! Claypot Chicken in Fermented Red Rice Wine was very tasty! Succulent chunks of chicken in thick red gravy. Stir Fried Yam was quite unique. Spinach with Salted Egg and Century Egg in Supreme Stock was a revelation - really good. Sambal Kangkong was ok.
Top quality oolong tea Tieguanyin was expensive but good.
Chilled Loquat in Herbal Jelly was a good dessert
Their yellow Crocker fish is really fresh. I liked this dessert selections, tofu, yam and misua.
OMG! They have the best pepper crab in the metro - the very same taste I love Singapore for. The sauce is perfect. The 100-second stewed yellow croaker is also delightful. Both very fresh. My hubby liked the crispy oyster - I only took a mouthful as I was so busy with my crab. The deep-fried durian puree was a nice ending to our meal. Truly deserving of a Michelin star!
Manila's food scene is on fire with the influx of local and foreign brands opening left and right. And with Singapore's One-Michelin Star Putien entering the market, we could definitely say that Christmas came in early this year.
Hello, Putien!
Putien started as a humble coffee shop in Singapore back in 2000. Named after Putian, a suburb of Fujian, China, it was Putien's founder, Mr. Fong Chi Chung's way to pay tribute to his hometown. By serving food made with fresh ingredients and packed with flavors, Putien eventually grew into a full scale restaurant and earned its One-Star Michelin in 2016. Now with several branches worldwide, Putien found a new home in Manila, its 67th worldwide.
Enjoyed the food here, but service needs serious improvement.
This restaurant serves Fujian cuisine. It is not your traditional Chinese restaurant, which is generally Cantonese fare.
The free pork buns were great and very tasty. The shrimp in garlic was excellent. And their tea is served differently and definitely worth a try.
