Some believe that ramen is the simplest yet the most perfect food. For someone who is a sucker for Japanese food, I’m honest to say that it is the least dish that I like when talking about this cuisine. It’s not the first thing that I look for or crave for when I want to eat Japanese food. But I’m ok with it.

For the price point, that’s bang for your buck! Comparable to Ramen Kuroda in terms of value. Ramen Kuroda, watch out! You got serious competition here :)

Ramen lovers like me have never had it so good! Authentic ramen used to cost as much as a buffet, but now we can indulge in delicious ramen everyday at Ramen Daikoku by Ikkoryu because their signature ramen only costs P180! This is less than half the price of other popular ramen restaurants. I thought that the quality would be lower, but it is actually just as good.

Try the Daikoku Ramen first with its rich Tonkotsu broth made from pork bones. The Gekikara Ramen is really spicy, and it also comes with flavored spicy noodles instead of just the broth. The Double Cook Pork is also very tasty, best paired with their Yakimeshi rice.

When in doubt, there's always RAMEN. And in Ramen Daikoku, you get bang for your buck because no ramen bowl goes over the P300 mark!

The bowl I got was the Tonkatsu Pork Bones Ramen with Chashu. Served hot, the broth was really inviting, very fragrant too. They were also generous with the chashu. I see 2 or 3 huge pieces, which were tender and flavorful. Spring onions and mushroom slivers complete the dish, and of course, the lovely ramen noodles. I liked that the noodles were firm to the bite and did not become soggy from the broth. First slurp was heaven and I could not stop eating.

I had to at least taste the other bowls they offered. The Kuro Black was a bit mild for me, but garlic lovers would enjoy this ramen. Best with ajitama!

The Gerikara Spicy Ramen was thoughtfully spiced through and through. Not only did they put spices in the broth, they incorporated spices in the flour noodles itself! Best with some Ajitama to soften the heat, but if you are an adventurous eater, go for the unadulterated spiced ramen!

What really caught my attention was their Miso. Seldom do I like Miso ramen because I am more of the strong flavors and sometimes, the miso ramen from other brands prove to be on the milder side. But lo and behold, this Miso was pungent yet creamy, and it has well-balanved rounded flavor that was really appetizing. I was tempted to put everything on it but I would recommend a few slices of Chashu and Ajitama.

Don't forget their perfect panfried gyozas, huge servings of Karaage (try the spicy one too!), yakimeshi, as well as their assorted rolls.

No need to break the bank to enjoy authentic quality Ramen. Ramen Daikoku gives you more reasons to slurp a bowl or two today!

I now consider Ramen house a happy place.
Ramen Daikoku by IKKORYU in particular- your tummy and pocket friendly Ramen place.

If you are to try this resto, I suggest you get Karaage - aside from a big serving, it is a crispy Fried Chicken Leg & Thigh that comes in Spicy or Non spicy flavor.

A more affordable Gyoza or Tempura are for grabs to pair with Ramen.

Ramen Choices include:

Tonkotsu Daikoku Ramen or Pork Bones, rich with tonkotsu flavored broth and I think it also has a salted egg flavor added to it.

Kuro Black with black pepper and garlic flavored Ramen version.

Gekikara (super spicy) if you're up to challenging your taste buds a little. 😁

Miso Ramen, one of the most loved version of Ramen in the world. A unique Japanese soybean paste soup base for this kind. And you get it here for only Php250.

Extra side dishes, ala carte and Set Meals are on the Menu choices too. We ordered Salmon Roll for some extra filling food. 👍

Ramen on the third wave just arrived, and this is when various brands offer authentic Japanese bowls at almost half the average price.

In just a span of few weeks, I got to visit Yummy Tokyo, Hakata Tonichi and Mitsuyado Seimen, and now Ramen Daikoku, all with ramen bowls under Php 200!

I got the Kuro Black with Ajitama (egg) as my main meal. It’s light in flavor overall with distinct notes of roasted garlic. I kind of regretted finishing it as I preferred having the Tonkotsu based Daikoku Ramen more, thanks to its vivid pork bone broth base.

If you’re the kind that seeks heat on ramen, go for Gekikara, a super spicy concoction. Everything about it is screaming hot, even its noodles. Only order this if you have a high tolerance.

For starters, I suggest going for meaty Gyoza. It’s a bite-sized comfort food that will get your appetite going.

On mains, I love the unique plate of Double Cooked Pork and the unusual, boned-in, Karaage. Since these dishes were seasoned well, I recommend having it with Japenese Fried Rice or Yakimeshi.

Ramen Daikoku also has the classic Tempura at Php 200, comes with optional curry powder dip on the side. Why not? I liked having the alternate tastes.

Thank you for having me! I appreciate that more and more establishments like you are giving me more reasons to have Japanese cuisine more often.

When it comes to ramen, I tend to only go to 3 restaurants. They to me, serves the best ramen in town! The other day, Ramen Daikoku was added on my list!

They serve authentic ramen that was adjusted to the tastebuds of the Filipinos and sells it for an affordable price! Yes! I know that there are a lot of street ramen places around that serves ramen below P100, but this is VERY DIFFERENT! They serve QUALITY & AUTHENTIC ramen for an AFFORDABLE price! Now you don’t need to wait for your pay day just to have a good bowl of ramen!

My favorite here is the MISO RAMEN! Among all that I was able to try, this is something I will order when I go back! I am actually craving for it now!

See you again soon, Ramen Daikoku! I can’t wait to have another bowl of your awesomeness! ❤️

I had my favorites when it comes to ramen. But this one is good also, especially if you just want to warm you up in this rainy weather.

Had Gekikara Spicy Ramen and I had to say, it tastes okay. Spice flavor spot on, noodles cooked well, broth is flavorful. Needed to add just a pinch of salt for it to get the right taste.

Was only surprised that their Karaage was like a chunky part of the chicken, compared to the usual chicken pops. I liked the taste of japanese curry with it, but it would have been nice if they have a variety of parts for the chicken. ☺️

Ramen Daikoku by Ikkoryu. Finally a ramen place in Market Market.

Price:It's affordable with prices starting at Php 180 for your basic tonkotsu ramen with half ajitama and a piece of chashu.

Food:I got the Gekikara which is their spicy version. The spice was good, it almost tasted labuyo like. Their chashu was what sealed the deal for me. I had to order extra. The meat was flavorful and the fat just melts in your mouth. The smokiness from the sear was the cherry on top.

Service: Unlike in ikkoryu, they don't have house teas. The servers although prompt in service, seemed uninterested. I expected them to sort of upsell the place since it is new. Didn't even get to ask why the noodles were colored that way.
