Cafe Mary Grace

Was just here for a quick coffee. The layout of this Mary Grace is similar to the others - sprightly, inviting, and inspirational, with all the messages left by guests under the table glasstops.

Especially convenient when you're just a floor below the cinemas.

Ordered seafood chowder. It's creamy and taste good. Good soup when you are sick. Will definitely come back here and try the other dishes on the menu.

Had a quick stop to take home some of their popular goodies and man, the Chocolate Truffle cake and Sansrival are super super yum that I can still taste the richness of the flavors after months! 😋😋😋

Will surely spend time to try the proper dine-in and more of their to die for pastries next time I come home 😊

The best cheese roll in town even got better when paired with pumpkin soup and seafood pasta. Food here is top notch, and service is commendable. Nice interiors and clean restroom.

This would be the 4th time or so that my teammate have gone to Mary Grace as a go-to spot for team lunches for special occasions. This occasion happened to be my birthday and a send-off for one of our teammates going overseas for work (though he would return within a week).

We all had our own favorites, but I personally always ordered the same thing: Vegetables on Focaccia Sandwich with a side Summer Squash soup, some kind of iced tea and a slice of cake. This time around, I got their Sangria iced tea, and they had a special cake in store for Mother's Day called a Tres Leches cake, so I got that too.

It didn't take too long for the orders to arrive and my teammates and I dug in with gusto. The vegetables were light but juicy and the focaccia was the ideal bread to soak in any extra moisture from the vegetables. The chips on the side were served with a creamy dip, which cut away any oil from the vegetables' cooking process and adding a crunch factor to the overall meal. The soup added another smooth and creamy texture, but it had its homey, light sweetness to it that was more welcome than redundant. To cut any umay that may be there, the Sangria served as a nice sweet shock for the palette and a nice summer drink to help cool down.

Time and again, this has been my order, and I am not going to be changing anytime soon.

After all the main dishes were scarfed down, we went on to cakes. The Tres Leches cake came with a milk sauce so after my teammates recorded a boomerang of me pouring the sauce onto the cake, I dug in. The experience (as strange as it may sound) was like biting into a glass of milk, if that made any sense? The cream from the cake's frosting, the dulce de leche filling and the milk sauce all worked so well together in an amazing experience of cream and sweetness. If you love milk and creamy things as much as I do, I recommend getting it, if still available. If not, I hope and pray that Mary Grace brings this back in the future or just keeps it on the menu. Don't do what I did with pouring it out straight though as there were some parts of the cake that lacked the milk sauce since it didn't penetrate through the entire cake. Instead, pour the milk sauce on a little at a time so you can get it in every bite.

Would I go back? Definitely and without question. I'd like to go back for a date sometime, actually.
