When I arrived, there were just a couple of tables with people. For the 6 hours that we were there, people came and went. It was never empty, us excluded. It has a homey feel with the different chairs and couches used. The staff ws very attentive, always filling our glasses with water. That's one thing I don't see that much in restos. The food was good, I just don't remember what they're called. Gambas could probably be a bit bigger, though I appreciate that it's only a bit spicy. The pork belly was perfect with the ground green mush. The ice cream with churros was divine! I wonder who made their salted caramel ice cream? Carmen's Best? I'd definitely go back. Quaint, hidden, fantastic!

Cafe Sanso is my happy place. I just hope that people talk a little softly when the place is full. Loud chitchat ruins the cafe's cozy atmosphere.

A very pleasant cafe with nice interiors and an art collage on the wall, good food selection, service. What will make me return for more is the location which is near my place and the churros sticks with chocolate dip.

Pork Churasco, Caldereta Picante, Pasta Vongole hit the spot. The churros with Ice Cream or Ice Cream with Churros whatever you call it won me the Ballon d'Or for dads! My kids loved it! Massive well done to the chef and crew! And the waiters are all very nice! Definitely comin back.

Ate here on random Saturday afternoon. Hands down, already one of my favorite chill date places. A little bit hard to find but it has 4-5 parking slots, cozy dining seats, and great service.

Ordered Paella Valenciana which was good for 2-3 people. Best dish here for me as it had fresh sea food, authentic choziro bits and a generous serving of pork belly that was just crispy on the outside but juicy on every bite. The paella rice was also very flavorful (real saffron was definitely used)

Next up, had the butcher's steak. For 180g it was surprisingly good serving. Drenched with olive oil and chimichurri, with potatoes and deep fried oyster mushrooms, it was to die for. cooked perfectly medium rare. just like it should be.

Had the Pescado Asado next. Flavorful squid ink pasta with calamares cooked just right. not Tough, not chewy. The Mahi mahi was juicy as hell with nice browning on both sides.

Overall, the food was amazing. The plating was excellent. The ambiance was great. Service was awesome. Loved this place.

Very accommodating staff. Food is well-seasoned with good portion size for their price. I loved the callos, it was tender and very rich. I can eat this with either rice or with bread or maybe 1 ricecooker-worth of rice lol. The next thing we absolutely loved is their signature dish, Francesinha. Oh this was soooo good. Sauteed mushrooms, asiago cheese, cream cheese, and jamon serrano served with perfectly seasoned and perfectly deepfried potato wedges! I can eat this thing on a daily basis and not feel guilty at all!! Absolutely worth the calories!!! A suggestion would be to add caramel sauce to their choice of dipping for their churros as I'm not really a big fan of chocolate dip and another option is for a churro order with no cinnamon powder for those chums like me who can't stand cinnamon. Overall we're quite pleased. We will come visit again.

First time to dine here despite being a frequent passerby in this area. My favorite would definitely be the mushroom chips, super highly recommended.

A hole in the wall restaurant hidden in one of the sides streets in San Juan, Cafè Sanso doubles up as a cafe/gallery in one. We ordered the Mahi Mahi with Squid Ink Pasta, Paella Valenciana, Sous Vide Porkchop and the Bagnet Chips. The Mahi Mahi was the best out of all we ordered! The taste was very citrusy which I liked! Would have given a perfect rating if serving didnt take too long.

The café had a really good ambiance. The serving was more than enough! Got a salad, mushroom chicarones, the bruschetta and sundried tomato and asparagus pasta. All of the dishes tasted good. I would really recommend this place for people who just want a quick snack as the place has a lot of offerings, both food and drinks 😃

Used our zomato gold membership here. We had the smoked salmon triangles, paella Negra, hanger steak, paella valenciana, and churro cups for dessert. The smoked salmon triangles was really good- good enough to satisfy a tomatito/ rambla salmon tnt craving. Plus, it’s a lot more affordable at 295 for around 8 triangles, I think. The hanger steak was nicely done, it had a hint of salt which complemented the steak really well. I personally didn’t like the chimichurri sauce it came with but I was never really a fan of chimichurri anyways. Both paellas were really good, with a decent amount of toppings. They surely didn’t scrimp on them- good quality and fresh. We also liked the churro cups, I was worried it’d be overly sweet but it was actually just right. Service wise wasn’t bad, it took around 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Servers are attentive. Will definitely come back to dine at cafe sanso again.

Cafe Sanso has a cozy ambience. They have the most polite and accommodating staff. Great music selection. Big plus for me that it’s right next to the museum. Love the desserts, ordered churros and ice cream sampler in churros cup. Their churros is most definitely better than La Lola and perfectly paired with their ice cream. A match made in heaven.

The area is very quiet and private, which I liked. They only had two servers that night so i worry if more people would be dining at the same time. I got their steak, and it was bland. The paella negra was ok. Salad dressing was too tangy for me.

Paella catalonia and mushroom chicharones were good. Gambas was okay. Their pork belly could be improved - i liked the crunchiness of the skin but it was a bit fatty and oily for me.

Available discount via Booky.

Got here and I the while indoor dining areais reserved. Not a problem because their alfresco dining is pretty and cool.

Mushroom Chicharones - I love this, reminiscent of mushroom fries, just a oily but I think it can be better of there is no event.

Paella Valenciana - expensive given the size...but...this is more than enough for 2 persons. Really filling and good flavor, better add chili flakes for extra spice.

Beef Salpicao - also small in servings but flavor packed. Very tender and garlicky as well.

Got my coffee fix here and their iced americano is recommended.

This chic cafe is located beside a museum. The interiors look like art.

Ultimate Choco Brownie (4.5/5)
- We were pleasantly surprised by the ice cream. We thought that it would just be normal, supermarket ice cream. But it tasted like it was homemade. The brownie was soft and not decadent, so it paired well with the ice cream.

Cappuccino (4/5)
- Didn't expect it to be served with artsy touches to it, but it was. Taste is artisanal and is definitely better than your usual Starbucks Cappuccino.

Service (5/5)
- The service was very good. We were the only people in the restaurant, but the server had initiative and would check on us every now and then.

Over the years, Little Baguio in San Juan City has been a great dining destination for a whole lot of foodies from all over the Metro. The neighborhood is home to several homegrown restaurants and cafes with a wide variety of cuisines to offer. In one of our recent EATSperiences, we discovered a very interesting cafe that was inspired by a museum right next to it. Museo Sanso is an art museum put up for the well-known Spanish artist who is Filipino by heart, Juvenal Sanso. Hence the cafe was named after the him. Join us as we share about our one of a kind EATSperience at Cafe Sanso in Little Baguio, San Juan. Enjoy!

We were the only customers when we ate there. My first time and I must say that I enjoyed the food. I find the place simply nice and casual. Thinking of going back to try the other dishes. Good that they have WiFi and seems like a good place to hang out for coffee and snacks, too. Hope I'll enjoy my next visit.

We tried their salad with jamon Serrano, their frittata, and their chorize y quezo paella. The salad was great, the flavors worked really well together. The frittata was unfortunately way too salty, because of there being too many olives in it. The olives were just way too intense and there's not enough else in it to cover that up. The paella was good, however it could use more chorizo, and I believe they just use regular rice in their paella and not a paella rice like arborio. It's good, but it could still use improvement.

All in all a solid place to come, no doubt. Would definitely come back and try more things

Tucked in the quiet and inner part of San Juan and away from the hustling and bustling of the city is the quaint Cafe’ Sanso.  Named after the renowned Spanish artist Juvenal Sanso from Catalonia Spain whose family moved in the Philippines when he was just four years old.   He’s also one of the best loved and highly regarded modernists in Philippine art.  His art speaks of his evolution as an artist and of his life during interesting times.

Food: 3.5/5
Service: 3.5/5
Ambiance: 4/5

What we ordered:
Paella Negra (P600) - it was my first time to try squid ink and I really enjoyed the rice.
Beef Skewers (P390)

The food tasted good but we felt that it was a bit expensive. Specifically the beef skewers, didn't expect to get that small portions. The waiter also took my plate but I wasn't done eating yet. :(

Got zomato delivery from here and the food was superb - clearly a hidden gem.

We had beef in two ways: Caldereta Picante had tangy beef chunks with chorizo and olives in a tomato broth. Salpicao had US hanging tender beef chunks in olive oil and garlic. Both the dishes had top quality beef. The Caldereta seemed like it was made by a loving Kapampangan Lola.

Tartufo Linguini topped with ham was light and you could taste the quality olive oil & truffles used. Grilled Chicken & Vegetable Tortilla was a filling brunch for my next day at office. It comes with a zesty salad with candied walnuts.

Cafe Sanso doesn't skimp on using quality ingredients and that's the reason for my high rating.

2nd time here. Had what I had the last time, I don't recall what they call it but it's thick deep fried liempo over Rosemary infused baby potatoes. Really good!. My son had this paella smothered with cheese. Our "significant others" had kaldereta and skewed beef. They love it too. Everyone loved the churros for dessert. They serve illy coffee.

Best to call ahead for table reservations as the place is no too big

Good high end food in a great ambiance. A tad pricey but the food is very refreshing compared to the standard asian fare in the area. Despite so many restaurants in the area, you can't find a decent sandwich! Sanso acts as a sandeich pasta place as well for those looking for such. Away from the fast-paced dining scene is a quaint little cafe in Little Baguio called Cafe Sanso.

We ordered the Bacalao Croquetas (P320), Roasted Pumpkin Cappuccino (P140) and their best-selling Chorizo y Quezo Paella (P450).

Cafe Sanso's Agua Fresca (P145) is also a great choice for refreshment. Available flavors are: melon, watermelon and mango

The ambiance is nice and cozy.. but the place can't accomodate large group. The food was great. The paella and the churros are to die for. The place and price are just right for the neighborhood-in front a rockwell condo and near wilson. Target market was on point.

The sangria is a must try, too. Perfect for couples who just want to have a simple date with good food.

THE LOCATION
If you're trying to look for a cafè that's directly beside an art gallery, then Cafè Sansò would be perfect for you. Upon entering, you'll be surprise on how a seemingly small cafè would exude such elegance through its choice of furniture alongside some original Artworks of the Globally renowned Spanish-Filipino Painter, Juvenal Sansò. Given its relaxing and classy ambiance, this place would be ideal for meetings, study dates, and get-togethers.

THE FOOD
For lunch, we had Caldereta Picante, Callos A La Madrilleña, and Paella Catalonia. Their Caldereta was remarkably flavorful especially with its beef cooked very tenderly. Next, the Callos was prepared so good that it is as if it melts in your mouth. Lastly, their Paella was truly a must-have complement for it heightened the overall authentic Spanish experience. Moreover, for those who loves a play of texture on your palate, the paella sticking on the pan would be heaven for you. Also, I highly recommend squeezing that lemon wedge for it gives a unique kick that balances the flavor of the chorizo, shrimp, and mussel altogether.
For dessert, we ordered their one-of-a-kind Churros! Unlike the usual churros, theirs being served in thinner and slender proportions make them even better for they are less oily and more on the crunchy side. Its chocolate dip was also exceptional since it has this right consistency by not being too thick nor liquid.
With good ambiance and good food, Cafè Sansò is definitely a place one would look forward going back to.

This restaurant in San Juan is a delightful discovery. We had Tartuffo Linguini (pasta with truffle and ham) and Francesinha (ham, cheese and mushroom sandwich) and both were very delicious, mainly because of the well-seasoned meats. Their Churros is the perfect conclusion to a very tasteful meal. It's not too sweet and not oily, and the cinnamon gives it a bit of an edge over Dulcinea's and even La Lola Churreria. If you're in San Juan, be sure to visit Cafe Sanso. #CafeSanso

The food was great! The pastas and the paella were really tasty! We had the tartuffo and gambas linguini. For the paella, we ordered both the paella a la catalonia and chorizo y quezo. If you will order the paella, I suggest you order it ahead of time since preparation is at least 20 minutes. The other items that we ordered were the calamari frito, callos, beef salpicao. I wasn't able to taste the francesinha sandwich but my friend said that it was also good. The only disappointment was the chorizo platter since one of the chorizo was mistakenly replaced with salami which we only noticed towards the end of the meal. But overall, I recommend the place. Just don't expect for big servings.

Come here before everyone discovers it. It's cute, quiet and has yummy sandwiches. The Francesinha is a rich, cheesy hearty sandwich that I enjoyed very much. The boyfriend Had the bocadillo which was more subtle in flavor but still yummy. The only disappointment in our meal was the churros which are mushy on the inside and made it "nakakasuya." Don't get me wrong, other than that, we had a lovely time. The service is terrific and the atmosphere is relaxing. We are already planning our next visit.
