First time to try lugang cafe, it was delicious. I really love their xiao long bao with their sauce. Will come back:)
You’ll never go wrong with the xiao long bao!!!
Unlimited dimsum offer is a good catch if you wanna eat a lot 😉
For Taiwanese food, I always go to Lugang as much as possible.
Pork Xiao Long Bao - juicy and flavorful, best eaten while hot as it tends to cool immediately.
Mixed Mushroom with XO - favorite! Staple dish in my every visit.
Fried Rice w/ Taiwanese Sausage - best fried rice for me.
Spicy Garlic Qing Yi in Claypot - my mom loved this, I liked that it is not Cream Dory but I do not like that it is Parrot Fish which is essential in marine health.
I do hope that they can come up with an alternative to the Qing Yi (Parrot Fish) other than the Dory.
Lugang has been one of my favorite restaurants in Manila. It fired up my love for xiao long bao made me head over heels crazy with other dishes it has perfected. And when R's parents invited us to join them for dinner at Lugang, we couldn't say no. You know that a restaurant is doing remarkably well when it is at an inconvenient location yet packed on a weekday night. Dining at Lugang O'Square branch without reservation is near impossible with its many loyal patrons.
Serves fantastic xiao long bao. They have some novel dishes if you're into that, but I prefer their classic dishes. You get quick service too.
Been craving noodle soup so decided to join some friends at Lugang for a quick breaky. The broth is tasty and smooth. The noodles are al dente just the way I like it. It’s a perfect meal to start off the day.
Ordered hot sour soup, garlic mashed chinese kale, scallion chicken and spicy fish hot pot. All were good and the main courses really did stood out. The chicken was flavorful and succulent, paired with the scallions and onions, it was just perfect. U cant go wrong with the umami flavors of the fish, u can choose either dory or parrot fish. Overall good experience
This is my second visit here. I love there Xiao Long Bao, it’s juicy and yummy. I also order several dishes like pork knuckle, white chicken, oysters cake, fried rice, plum Spareribs which I find nothing special.

Lugang Cafe is the offshoot of Bellagio, a Taiwanese restaurant chain which first opened in Shanghai in 2001, bringing with it a combination of authentic Taiwanese cuisine with a modern and vibrant restaurant design. Since then, it has grown its China operations to include outlets in key cities such as Beijing, Tianjin, Dalian, Qingdao, Najing, Suzhou, Wuxi, Wuhan, Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi’an, Xiamen, Quanzhou and Galaxy Macau.
Great ambience and service. Our orders came out very quickly. Some of my faves here are the garlic pork roll and cold tofu for appetizers and pineapple shrimp cruller for the mains, and milk custard with mangoes for dessert. They have new menu items (although several dishes were not available).

First Tried their dessert Mango x Shaved Ice when they were back in Connecticut with the Big Branch. (Posted on IG about it first, January 9, 2014) I also brought my friends for my birthday in Mall of Asia Branch. Top one favourite on my list is their Dong Bo Pork Belly with Steamed Buns. This is their take on a fresh Cuapao. Yum!
My next visit was to try their Unlimited XLB. September 4, 2018. We did not like the Steamed Vegetable and Pork Dumplings because it tasted dry and bland. The Pork XLB was a great hit and the Vegetarian Dumpling with Truffle Oil was way way better than the Veg and Pork. I suggest they include Crab Roe!! I didn’t have much of the Pork Wonton in Spicy Chili Oil, sadly.
Enjoyed our meal here. It was full but we were lucky to be seated right away during lunch time. Of course we had to go with their Xiao Long Bao, their Spicy Clams with Thai Sweet Basil, stir-fried brocolli, and Pepper Beef with button mushroom. Food was great and order was more than enough for the 4 of us. We loved their pepper beef. It was served on a sizzling plate thus making the dish hot for a long time. To cap it off, we ordered their peanut smoothie. It was a perfect for a hot summer day.
We went for an early dinner last Saturday and we decided to try Lugang’s Feast-All-You-Can 2018. This eat-all-you-can deal is only P598/person, with 10% service charge. Add P30 for unlimited iced tea. I asked, you can’t change this into hot tea instead. They don’t provide service tea.
So, did I think it was worth the P598+ price tag?
Excellent food, although the waiters were quite slow. As i exited the washroom, i saw the staff refilling a water jug from their water station. I saw the water spout of the water station submerged into the pitcher of water that was being refilled. I called the staff’s attention, including the lady manager on duty’s, but they didnt seem to understand why i said it was very unhygienic. They apologized but stopped there. I dont know about the general public, but i say YIKES!!!
Food 5/5, ambiance 5/5, service 4/5, price 4.5/5. It was a busy night and 2/15 orders came late in our meals. But food was great and tasted fresh (not commercial). We had pork chop, clams, hot n sour aoup, spinach soup, sweet n sour pork, spicy ofal (my favorite). Mango, strawberry, sweet bean shaved ice and they were refreshing. I think Taiwanese food tends to be blamed for being bland if you compare this to Filipino and Chinese (normally Cantonese for Filipinos). But its best feature will always be freshness.
Lugang is one of the best fusion modern chinese restaurants in the market today. When they first started of some murmurs of them being too pricey and of their food options not being many but they have proven naysayers wrong with their success and how even the traditional filchi people have mebraced their food and their brand. Solidly good presentation, solidly good food and overall a great food experience.
Hello to one of the newest Lugang branches and welcome back to Greenhills! Lugang was gone for sometime because another new resto was put up where it used to be, and this would be Xiu Fine Dining.
I was super glad to see it back and surely am excited to dine here once again. We were surprised so see a line as early as 6pm on a weekday dinner. I highly suggest to reserve in advance to keep you from waiting. We probably waited a good 30 minutes before we were seated, I honestly didn't mind because I know how good the food is.
One of the must tries would be their: Xiao Long Baos, Beans with Salted Egg, Fried Rice, and Peanut Smoothie Dessert.
The service was pretty good, our orders came out pretty fast and steaming hot as well. Thumbs up!
