Ate at the SM North Edsa Branch. (I've never written a restaurant review before but we enjoyed it so much so...) I've been seeing the Dohtonbori posts for weeks and finally today, me and my beau were able to go. We booked a reservation via phonebooky (and got a discount *wink) because I've read that the waiting line takes a while. When we got there, fortunately, there wasn't a line. We were greeted warmly when we came in and requested to be seated in the tatami room. The place was great, the toilet was clean, the staff was accommodating, the food was AMAZIIIING. We ordered Deluxe Okonomiyaki, Quattro Formaggi pizza, Pork Yakiniku and Sakura ice cream (also got a free ice cream for answering a survey). Everything was delicious. At first, we let the staff, Angie, cook the okonomiyaki for us. She was very attentive, flipping the okonomiyaki at the needed moment. We cooked the rest of the food by ourselves. We exited the place, greeted us goodbye with smiles from all the staff. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Dohtonbori. We certainly will come back again! <3

First time for me to eat at Dohtonbori (the one we went to was the one in Greenhills), and besides excellent service, the food that we ordered was exceptional! The Kimchi and seafood Okonomiaki, plus the Quatro Formaggio Japanese pizza cooked in front of you on a griddle built into our table. The Okonomiaki was great, esp. since I had only had it now, and the 4-cheese pizza, with caramel on top, was great!

I have been with customer service industry for almost 4 yrs and yet the customer service here at Dontonbori mall of Asia branch is absolutely great. All those beautiful ladies working attentively and with the sense of teamwork. I think they deserve better prices and commendations. Will promote their services to my family and friends. It was a great Japanese dining experience for me with better food and fascinating customer service. Shout out for all the beautiful servers. Made my day...Thank you!

DOHTONBORI GREENHILLS is LOVE. The staffs there were very accomodating and very much willing to serve and assist you. The place is so cozy and it felt like a dream come true. It really felt like I'm in Japan w/ the interiors and stuff. It felt like home. Food quality is superb. I have only tried the Mixed Okonomiyaki, their rice and the Miso soup. And so far, I am quite satisfied w/ the quality and taste of the food. I have visited this establishment twice palang. And I'm really hoping that I will be visiting it again soon!

Great food and great service. The place ambience is great: well maintained, bright, and clean. The waitress who served and cooked our food was also very kind so it boosted the experience (Missouri St., Greenhills branch). Pricewise, it's very reasonable. Not too expensive but not too cheap. The servings were generous as well. 10/10 would definitely go back.

First time trying this and I must say I wasn't impressed at first glace, but the flavors kicked in and the heat from their spices really hit the spot. We tried the cold soba as well and it was surprisingly good. The only thing is the price, quite hefty and since I'm used to lower prices back home for these dishes, it was unusual to pay these prices.

As both Japanese Okonomiyaki (savory pancakes) and Dohtonbori grows more traction in the Manila, why not evolve and make it even more interesting?

Last Thursday, I was invited by Dohtonburi to indulge in their Filipino Okonomiyakis- Kapampangan’s Kare Kare and Sisig, and Bicol’s famous Bicol Express.

The Kare Kare version, Japanese style was surprisingly satisfying- generous chunks of beef, eggplant, and string beans coated with peanut sauce and then topped with shrimp paste.

Since I am not a fan of fatty pork, Sisig didn’t sit to me that well. But if you like this rich dish, you’ll likely pick this as your favorite Okonomiyaki.

If spicy is your kind of meal, chili filled. Bicol Express Okonomiyaki should be your runaway pick. This is also a savory and sweet mix with its strong presence of coconut milk.

I’ll be back in Dohtonburi’s other stores soon since I won Php 11,000 worth of gift certificates! That’s for the token, early bird, game prize and best photo award. Who wants to join me?

One of the most authentic okonomiyaki that I tried. The ambiance of the place feels like you're really in Japan. The sounds, the displays and decorations.

Trying something new is what a real foodie wants. With that, I've attended the Sake Masterclass of Dohtonbori. We have been invited to try Kubota Sake, a brand of premium quality sake by Asahi-Shuzo Sake Brewing Co., Ltd. (since 1830) and Sake Master Keichi San showed us the process and what make it special. Made from high quality rice grains in which we technically can't remember the name.

Without further ado, these are the best Sake Food Pairing, hope you'll remember the confusing japanese terms hehe.

1. Kubota Senjyu paired with Butatama Okonomiyaki, Kimichi Pork Monjayaki and Chicken Karaage
2. Kubota Manjyu paired with Kalbi Yakiniku and Four Cheese Okonomiyaki
3. Kubota Junmai Daiginjo paired with Veggie Supreme Okonomiyaki and Chicken Shio

I've learned a lot over this masterclass and how it complements almost any kind of viand.

Sake, an alcoholic beverage made of fermented rice, is a long standing tradition in Japanese cuisine. It can be served chilled, at room temperature or heated, depending on the drinker’s preferences, the quality of the sake and the season. During a recent Sake Masterclass held in Dohtonbori’s first-ever store in Greenhills, my fellow foodies and I were treated to different kinds of sake produced by Japan’s premier sake brewer Kubota, paired with the resto’s okonomiyaki and other dishes. With the help Kubota’s Sake Master Keichi Nagatsuka, our group traced the history and traditions surrounding the production of sake.

PONPOKOPON! 🐹🐿️🐼🐻 EAT ALL YOU CAN OKONOMIYAKI AND YAKINIKU for only ₱699!

Yes, you heard that right! You can eat ALL YOU WANT from their selected Okonomiyaki and Yakiniku choices. Available all day everyday in all Dohtonbori stores!

For the Eat all you can deal, you get the following for just P699++ :)

✓Okonomiyaki: Butatama (Pork), Pepper Kalbi (Beef), Four Cheese and Veggie Supreme ✓Yakiniku: Chicken Shio, Kalbi (Beef) and Pork

This branch in Greenhills is big and spacious. The interiors give me this feeling like I'm dining in a traditional Japanese restaurant. There's an area/room there which is relaxing, more private, and has a brighter lighting. You need to remove your shoes/slippers as you go there.

Service is excellent. Servers were attentive. It is my first time in Dohtonbori, they explained some stuff I didn't know. They also helped and taught us cook Okonomiyaki.

I got to try and taste Dohtonbori's EAT ALL YOU CAN experience of their Okonomiyaki and Yakiniku worth P699.00 It includes Butatama, Pepper Kalbi BBQ, 4-Cheese Okonomiyaki, Veggie Supreme, Kalbi Yakinuku, Pork Yakiniku, and Chicken Shio. Their delicious Japanese mayo is unli as well!! The 4-Xheese okonomiyaki (mozarella, cheddar, parmesan, and I forgot the other one) was good. The marinade they used on the pork was flavorful as well. The beef can be crunchy to chewy. Maximum stay is 2 hours. Smaller buddies can avail the promo for only P299.00. This promo is until January 31, 2019 only.

Not included on the eat-all-you-can promo, but their Karaage was good as well. Overall experience is satisfactory.

Disclaimer: dining was sponsored by Dohtonbori.

As someone who goes to the gym at a morning, I usually look for places where I can eat. 'Coz there is what we call: post-work-out syndrome wherein your body still burns fats but since you do not have enough fats anymore, you need to intake something.

And below our gym is the first branch of Dohtonbori in the Philippines. Since I usually work out in the morning, they are still closed but when I saw that they have an ongoing Eat All You Can promo for 699 pesos, I adjusted my time for gym and tried having a sumptuous post-workout meal.

Ambiance - 4.0/5.0
The place is a bit dark and it seems like the air-conditioning system is not working fine because it was a bit humid when I went inside. But everything else is fine -- the chairs are comfortable to sit on, the teppan plates are clean and not oily.

Service - 5.0/5.0
The staff are all friendly and accommodating which I really appreciate. The service may not be quick but I see how they attend to their customers really.

Food - 3.0/5.0
As mentioned, I tried the Eat All You Can promo which is 699 pesos. There are specific rules like, you only have maximum of 2 hours to enjoy the said promo. And the food inclusions are only certain varieties of Okonomiyaki (Pork, Veggie, 4 Cheese and Beef) and Yakiniku. For me, it looks sumptuous but I suggest, they can add like drinks to it and some side dishes.

But, to those whose appetite is big, you may go and enjoy yourselves for 2 hours.

It was my first time in Dohtonbori. Surprised to learn that it is an international franchise from Osaka Japan.

Had the unlimited yakiniku and okonomiyaki for P699 only limited to 2 hours.

Okonomiyaji, the specialty of the house, was delicious and filling. Do not get carried away by this though or else you will find you are too full to enjoy the protein in yakiniku.

Always love going to this branch because of the good service. There are usually a lot of people here, but when we go here and there aren’t a lot of customers, the staff usually take the initiative to ask us if we want to have our other okonomiyakis cooked in another table while there are some being cooked in our table so that we could all have our food immediately. Serving is enough (sometimes more than enough) for one person, and love the ones with noodles because it makes one fuller. One of my favourite Japanese resto chains.

I loooooooove Dohtonbori!!! The prices are very reasonable, the food is delicious and the experience is fun! Their menu ranges from inexpensive to some pricey items too but majority is very reasonable and affordable so you can always go for those and you’ll still have a very satisfying and filling meal. My recommendations are:
Pork Yakiniku
Beef Kalbi Yakiniku
Pork Okonomiyaki or the Cheesy Pork
Grilled Garlic (must!!!!!)
Rice & Miso soup add-on

If you have a higher budget, their Angus Beef is good too and you can get a more deluxe Okonomiyaki variant and also, you can order Steak Rice (yum!).

It’s fun to watch the Okonomiyaki and the meats being cooked at your table. Be ready to smell like food though, but that’s part of it! You can also opt to sit on the “floor” and request for a table inside “the room” (I forget what it’s called, you’ll be asked to take off your shoes FYI).

Foodie tips:
1. You must must must order the Grilled Garlic (unless of course you hate garlic!) because it goes with EVERYTHING. Every bite of either a piece of okonomiyaki or spoonful of rice with yakiniku must be eaten with a piece of their Grilled Garlic!
2. Their rice is sometimes dry (sadly, inconsistent) so make sure to get the set with miso soup and then level up your rice too by using the condiments actually meant for the okonomiyaki like the bonito powder, nori & chili and mix them in your rice.

P.S. I’ve tried Okonomiyaki during our trips to Osaka, Japan and I actually enjoy the Okonomiyakis in Dohtonbori more (both taste wise and price wise). Plus it’s more comfortable eating it here with spacious tables and at your own pace vs. the small spaces in Japan and the feeling that you always have to eat hurriedly because since seating is limited in Japan, there are always people waiting for seats to be vacated.

First off the staff is very attentive to your needs. You don’t have to call their attention to have the drinks refilled.

The food was fantastic. We ordered 7 dishes thinking the serving is small but found out later that their serving was quite okay.

They are not strict as to the last call of orders in fact their last call is their closing time which is 10pm.

My friends and I dined here for a quick catch-up session. The place was not yet crowded upon arriving there, despite the fact that it's already lunchtime. The ambiance is quite dark but I like how it felt private.

We ordered their best-selling Okonomiyaki which is already filling by itself. It is tasty and is like a bigger and flat version of a Takoyaki. We also ordered the Kimchi Pork and Corn & Butter, which really lived up to its name - very buttery. The staff assigned to us is prompt in addressing our concerns. He kindly assisted us in cooking the Okonomiyaki and the Kimchi and Pork.

It was a unique experience dining here at DOHTONBORI. Their menu is very extensive and the price is quite cheap as well, compared to other Japanese restaurants out there.

Dohtonbori - Japanese restaurant, Greenhills San Juan branch

This is a good one for those who love Japanese cuisine. They have a lot of choices compared with others. We also loved the ambiance as you will be greeted by the Tanuki mascot and friendly staff!

It was our first time here and we have tried the following dishes that you should try too!

👌🏻Hiroshima Yaki - an okonomiyaki that is savory which consists of pancake, cabbage, egg and noodles.
👌🏻Garlic Angus Striploin Steak - 200 grams of striploin steak with milk garlic butter.
👌🏻Grilled Salmon Chanchan - This is Hokkaido's special local food, fresh salmon and vegestables with miso taste.
👌🏻Karaage - Breaded chicken with lemon zest.
👌🏻Radish and Seaweeds Salad - radish and seaweed with Kewpie dressing.

The meal was so unique and was very satisfying as it was cooked on the table similar to teppanyaki. Prices are ranging from
Php 300 - 700 per meal.

We frequent this branch since its closer to home. We have to walk outside the Greenhills shopping center complex to get here, but it's alright.

You will be greeted by their tanuki mascot and friendly staff accompanied by the wafting smell of okonomiyaki and other items that can be cooked on their table top griddles.
Here, it was our first time to try their grilled onigiri and it was great!
Their tatami room has limited tables, but it is a cool dining experience.

Okonomiyaki is a Japanese dish that is a savory pancake, that consists mainly of cabbage and egg, and whatever else ones heart desires from protien to even noodles. Dohtonbori is known to serve the best okonomiyaki in town.

Now, with Japanese food being my top fave, I have had a few okonomiyakis in the past. But I am one that prefers sushi and sashimi. Plus, okonomiyaki isn't really served in a lot of establishments. So, oddly, instead of my usual craving for raw fish, I was craving for okonomiyaki, and decided to have my first rodeo ride at Dohtonburi. Good thing my friend/roomie was available and joined at the last minute before heading there.

There was a wide variety of okonomiyakis to choose from, and I was having some difficulty choosing which one to order-- Chicken, beef, pork, etc. Which protein did I want? With that difficulty, I had no other choice but to get the Deluxe Okonomiyaki which had chicken, beef, pork, scallops, squid and octopus. It had the perfect combo of meat and seafood.

Besides okonomiyaki, I opted to get some appetizers which were kimchi and gyoza.

Francis was our waiter, and he cooked gyoza and okonomiyaki on the hot griddle at the center of the table. He was very knowledgable and explained things step by step. It was a joy, and foodie torture at the same time watching the food get cooked. At the end though, the wait was all worth it.

The okonomiyaki was spot on. Undoubtedly the best that I have tried. One con I would have to say about it is with regards to the bonito flakes. The flakes are tiny flakes out of the shaker. I would've preferred the tiny shreds of it that look like they would be dancing due to the heat.

As for the appetizers, kimchi was good and quite strong in spiciness and sourness--just the way I like it. Gyoza was really good too, but not really the best.

Food: 4.5 - The best okonomiyaki for me! 😋

Service: 5.0 - Friendly and knowledgable.

Price: 4.5 - Prices are fairly affordable. The dishes are good for 2.

Ambience: 5.0. - I loved the ambience as soon as I stepped into the store. Place has an old Japanese vibe.

Coming back that's for sure! Still loads of different okonomiyakis that I must try. I wonder if next time, I will try to flip it on the griddle.

It was an easy choice for both of us because we both love Japanese food! 😂 No more of those “anywhere’s” or “whatever’s” to make the decision process long— it was a sure hit on where we’d end up that day. 👌🏻

🔻 Four Cheese Okonomiyaki: (can’t remember which one it was in the first photo— they plate all okonomiyakis the same way here 😂) Mozzarella, Parmesan, Cheddar and Gouda cheeses make this 4-Cheese combo, with some tomatoes to provide a sour touch. This, along with the fluffy batter of the okonomiyaki was a hit for both of us because it was stringy and salty. Doused it with a lot of brown sauce after we divided it, though we kept it looking pristine at first for the photo. 😂

🔻 Cheesy Pork: yup, our friendship’s founded on a love for cheese too! 🧀 Unlike the previous meatless option, this one came with thin slices of pork for added umami flavors. Again, this one was drowned in sauce and bonito flakes for added yumminess. 😅

🔻 Pork Yakisoba: by the time I got to this, I was already getting full, but thank goodness my friend still had an appetite for it. Stole a few bites of sour-salty noodles that came with a spicy touch of pickled ginger. 👌🏻 Before this was mixed up, we both agreed to put aside the string beans though because vegetables aren’t our thing. Shh, don’t let our moms find out. 🤫

It takes only 620 PHP to have Edamame, Dumpling and Pork Okonomiyaki with a bottle of beer. The taste is really good, as my tongue, Okonomiyaki served here is almost original one. 90's J-Pop played and the old fashioned interiors reminds me of my school days. Cost and performance is well balanced. I strongly recommend those who likes Japanese to try to go to the restaurant.

Lovely interiors plus the staff are very accommodating in this branch. They even left the big mayo bottle on our table when we asked because my friend likes her okonomiyaki with lots of mayo.

Tried the 3 Meat Okonomiyaki and Deluxe Okonomiyaki -- not sure if it's just my taste buds but I couldn't find any difference in terms of taste. While Deluxe O has more variety of ingredients, you'll only get to see it if you deliberately check this.

Hiroshima Yaki is definitely more filling, with the added noodle ingredient. Good to know that they offer this okonomiyaki variant as well.

All in all, food tastes good but not something I would look for every now and then.

Dohtonbori will probably go down as one of my favorite places to dine in. I have been to this place several times already and not once did I leave out of the place unsatisfied. Lets start with the star dish of this restaurant which is their okonomiyaki. There are a lot of selections but I must say that out of all that I have tried these are my go to selections: pepper kalbi, umigo and modern yaki. The okonomiyaki for me is really an experience that will make you go for a second serving.

Besides the okonomiyaki, the steak fried rice seems to be a smart choice as well. For those donburi fans, wekk you'll never go wrong with a katsudon. The kaarage is also good. I guess the only thing that really didnt sit well with me is the monjayaki which is definitely not for me.

All in all I must say that if you haven't tried this restaurant maybe it's probably the time to do so. I guarantee a wonderful gastronomic experience.

The staff are nice and I love the place’s ambiance. I personally like the branch in Greenhills, San Juan because the people are fewer and we easily got seats (the traditional japanese seating one) as compared to the Sm North Edsa branch wherein you have to get in line before you can actually have a seat. Food/taste 5, ambiance 3.5, service 3, price 4 so its a “4”. We had burger, steak rice, sliced beef and pork, tenpura, udon. Tatse was very good and a great escape from your usual commercial Japanese food. Just two things. I think service needs a bit of improvement. There was some confusion in our order, but quicky fixed. And if you are on a date night, best to bring extra clothes since they’ll cook in front of you. But otherwise, a fun experience and food is worth coming back for. Looking forward to try other stuff in the menu.

+ About 4 over 5 for closeness to the okonomiyaki and yakisoba that I tasted in restaurants in Tokyo

+ Place is clean
+ Helpful staff in explaining menu contents
- Okonomiyaki flour might have not been used
- Kewpie mayo lacks the punch it usually has
- Might be helpful if there is a hand-sanitizer in the area where outdoor footwear is removed for hygiene purposes
- For this branch, the restroom is outside its premises
- Limited dessert choices

Dohtonbori gave me a sumptuous Japanese experience. We ordered Premium Pork Okonomiyaki which has a thick filling and is really tasty. Their Gyoza is fuller as compared to other restos. We also had Salmon Fried Rice which has a big serving that is already for sharing. All in all, it was a really satisfying meal. 💕😊

Must try Okonomiyaki!

Product: There's just too much too choose from that you need to visit again to try more and it's really worth multiple visits cause the food are ones that you will return to. We tried the Mixed Okonomiyaki, Chicken Shio, Miso Cheese Yaki Onigiri, and Shoyu Ramen.

Like I said, the Okonomiyaki is definitely a must try. Especially if you're really really craving for it, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed with this one. They also provide unlimited sauce so go crazy but not too crazy! Of course you get to witness how they mix and fry everything right in front of you. The serving size is good enough for 4 people if you have lots of other orders.

The chicken shio, as shio means salt. They are pieces of chicken that is a side dish that you can pair up with your ramen or onigiri or rice. The thing I liked about this is that they used red meat which I very much prefer.

The cheese onigiri, rice with melted cheese on top! What can I say? We're all suckers for cheese.. melted cheese, even more! It is what you imagine it to be and to taste like. Salty cheese with rice.

The Shoyu Ramen is good but it didn't stand out among the rest, though that doesn't mean it's bad because even the ones who tried ramen for the first time really liked it. The noodles were thin and soft and the presentation was very inviting for my appetite.

Venue: DOHTONBORI is found just a little bit outside Greenhills Shopping Center. On the second floor of Cullinan Prime Building, with Carousel Creamery just a floor below it. We requested to seat at the Tatami table so we can experience a little bit of Japanese culture in a way by taking off our shoes and "sitting on the floor" (there's a pit for feet under the table if you get tired). You may have to wait a while if you want to sit there. And the service is quite slow despite having the dishes cooked right in front of you. The food took a while to get to us so we were so hungry when everything came. I still think the wait is worth it though. The servers were also very easy to call, they would bow when they would leave the tatami and would happily greet you as you enter and leave the place. I don't know much about how authentic Japanese restaurant's service but if it's anything like this, we have a lot of catching up to do. Definitely coming back to try more dishes!

Been here four times and the atmosphere is delighting, to say the least.

- Food menu allows for variation. They offer a lot on their menu so you have a lot to choose from.
- My general consensus on their food's taste though is that a majority of them are bland -- especially their meats. The noodle dishes are alright but their meat viands always end up as bland which I find disappointing.
- Service is great. Very attentive and warm staff.
- Ambiance is a 10/10. Interesting interiors. Plenty of seating. You get the whole Japanese experience through their setting.
- Downside (aside from blandness of food): pricing is expensive.

To be honest, I'd rather spend my money on other Japanese restaurants with tastier food.

We enjoyed our dinner here. We were seated at those Japanese style seats where there's just a cushion on the floor and we had to take our shoes off before going onto the raised platform where our table was located. The food is cooked in front of you so you actually see what they put in there and you can tell them to hold off on the ginger or whatever. We liked their okonomiyaki and their ramen. Their mixed yakisoba was also nice.

I'll give this 4.5 stars coz though the food was not really something to write home about, the ambiance was good, the staff was great, and the service was fast.

Japan has currently been the most chosen destination of people going abroad for travel and leisure. The country has recently opened its tourism to more foreigners to explore their land filled with good sceneries, advanced technologies, and OF COURSE, fresh and high quality foods.

One of Japan's street food is Okonomiyaki, which is Dohtonbori Philippines' specialty. Okonomiyaki is a Japanese savoury pancake dish with different combinations of ingredients (batter, cabbage, meat, seafood, etc). You can mix and match different flavors and top the okonomiyaki with a special okonomiyaki sauce, japanese mayo, seaweed, and bonito flakes.

We ordered the Mixed Okonomiyaki that was composed meat, seafood, cabbage, etc. The Okonomiyaki was thick, savoury, filled with generous amounts of filling and was very heavy! It's good for those people with big appetite. The okonomiyaki reminds me of my trip in Japan back in 2013.

The best thing about Dohtonbori is you can cook your own Okonomiyaki at your own table's Teppanyaki grill; or you can let the servers cook the dish in front of you. Aside from this, the restaurant's ambiance makes the experience like you are really in Japan.

Please follow me in Instagram @spoonsaroundtheworld for more of my latest food finds! :)

You will already feel the Japanese vibes as you enter Dohtonbori. The design of the restaurant from the outside to the inside reflects an authentic Japanese restaurant. We ordered their Deluxe Okonomiyaki and Gyoza as side dish. Overall, the Okonomiyaki is very tasty and delicious. The serving size is also very fair considering the price (It's good for 2-3 perssons already). Their gyoza is also meaty and delicious.

Dohtonburi is the leading okonomiyaki chain which opened its doors for the first time in Manila 3 years ago. There's just something about Japanese food which I always find appealing regardless if it's fast food or authentic. Made reservations for 3 as a catch up dinner with some folks and good thing we did otherwise we would be queued! Ambience, most people said they get the vibe of how an authentic Japanese restaurant feels like and interiors are nicely made.

What we ordered:
Hiroshima Yaki
Quattro Formaggi
Seafood Okonomiyaki
Chicken Karaage
Extra:
Edamame

Almost finished all of our orders. With an average cost of PHP 500.00 for one person, this restaurant won't disappoint. I like the flavor of their okonomiyaki mixed with a thin, crispy layer of crust to balance out the different ingredients used in our order. I couldn't help but order a bowl of rice and had no regrets at all. Take note, I try to limit my carb consumption and happy that I got one for myself. Don't forget to share a bowl of edamame too with your friends to get rid of that umay factor. I shall return, Dohtonburi!

Place - when I saw Dohtonbori outside, i felt excited to come inside because the exterior really looked like it's on Japan. And when I entered the establishment, it felt like a dream. It really looked as I am in Japan that time. The interior was very cozy and lovely. The room w/ the tatami mats looked very cozy, unfortunately we weren't able to dine in there as they were still cleaning that area.

Service - staffs were really accomodating! They had smile on their faces when they took and served our orders. They even offered to cook the okonomiyaki for us. Service is superb!

Food - ordered the Mixed Okonomiyaki, rice and miso soup. Okonomiyaki is very good and filling. Rice was cooked well and miso was good.

I've been to Japan several times and I could say that their okonomiyaki's very authentic and delicious. Ordered Butatama and Hamburger cheese okonomiyakis and it did not disappoint. The serving's pretty generous and the sauces are sweet and flavorful. Customer service is very good as well. Only comment tho is the rice being so expensive. Hope they could increase the amount of rice served given that the price is 60php. Overall I could say this is going to be one of my go to places to get some Japanese fix from now on.

Been dying to try their okonomiyaki since I have been reading a lot of good reviews about it, and it was good. I tried their Cheesy Okonomiyaki and it was really tasty. In fact, you can ask their assistance to help you cook your Okonomiyaki. I also ordered their Pork Yakiniku and it was good as well. The pork was marinated really well that is why it was so tasty. What I also like about their menu was it was also reasonable. For less than 1000 pesos, you will for sure be full and satisfied. Will definitely come back again!

Chicken shio is tasty as well as the Tonkotsu ramen 🍜

We had our okonomiyaki experience at Dohtonbori and it was packed! We're even thankful that we got seated right next to a group of Japanese men; that way, we'd be able to get a clue on how to properly eat the dish. For starters, we each got our raw yakiniku dishes that we had to fry. If you want to be on the safe side, order a dish of Kalbi Yakiniku (Php280), which is seasoned and marinated beef. But if you're feeling a little adventurous, try the Gyutan (Php330), which is the ox tongue with sesame oil.

For the okonomiyaki, we got the Kiwami Okonomiyaki (Php390), which is the premium pork okonomiyaki. We're lucky that the waiter agreed to cook it for us since we really had no clue. They really pay attention to the minutes as to when the pancake should be flipped. The first bite was heavenly. Our tastebuds were dancing with joy; all the ingredients were tucked in one bite and it gave a burst of different yet complimenting flavors. The fat from the pork melts upon hitting your tongue while the other ingredients give you different textures and flavors. We were squirming with every bite and we would have done a second round of this if we were not in a hurry.

Since we wanted to try the different kinds of okonomiyaki, we also ordered the Four Cheese Okonomiyaki (Php360), which was composed of gouda, cheddar, emmental, parmigiano reggiano. It wasn't salty, even if we were practically just eating 4 kinds of cheese! Honey and cheese definitely go well together. The crust was also thin, light, and crunchy giving this dish excellent texture.

Dohtonbori is a franchise from Japanand is currently a big hit in the Philippines. The branch in Greenhills is their first branch with more coming soon. We finally got a chance to try Dohtonbori after hearing good reviews from family and friends. It took us a while because of so many people wanting to eat there especially during the first few weeks that they opened. Even now they are still full especially during the weekends.

This place has good affordable Japanese food and it definitely lives up to the hype.

The service is really good (they cook the food on the grill right in front of you), the place feels real Japanese with the decor and forced shoe removal, and the food just speaks for itself. They are known for their Okonomiyaki, and it is well proportioned, fresh, and delicious. It felt like a grand omelette, and had the right amount of flavor where nothing was overpowering and everything blended really well. I was expecting this to be a disappointment like street food Takoyaki, but this just impressed. Their Monjayaki was a little disappointing, it tasted too strongly of ginger and nothing else. It didn't look very appetizing and it looked much like gyudon with random things assembled alongside it. However, their Ramen Tonkotsu (300 pesos) was really good compared to the Ramen we have here. It's not Ramen-in-Japan good, but it tides a Ramen craving and it begs to be completely consumed. I also had Pork Yakiniku(more flavorful than normal buffets) with rice(60 pesos), which were okay.

Overall, I would definitely go back. There's a reason why this was once one of the most recommended places to eat in Greenhills, and I think it still has some of that magic.

We researched for a place to eat in the san juan area and stumbled upon an article citing dohtuburi. Just a few minutes walk from greenhills shopping center, it is strategically catering to shoppers and nearby subdivisions.

The interior was very immersive. There were wall decors distinctively Japanese and even a section of the room devoted to look like a japanese home that has a low rise dining table.

Dohtonburi prides itself in their okonumiyaki so we obliged to pick the Spicy Kalbi BBQ variation. We added that also with some Pork Yakiniku. They served our orders in a few minutes since we were going to cook it. This is a new experience for first timers and personally I think it creates an anticipation as the food gets closer to it's ready to eat state. For people who are not good at flipping meat being cooked, the servers are available and capable of assisting. The process of cooking the okunomiyaki required a bit of know how especially the flipping and the dressing of it so better leave it to the experts.

We treated the pork yakiniku as our appetizer which is similar to bacon covered in sauce. The main dish had a burst of flavor all thanks to the dressing and the ingredients. Quite frankly, we did not feel any spice from the dish.

Dohtunburi would be recommended for friends or even couples to try their hand in preparing food. It creates a different activity dynamic which fuses bonding and appreciation for cooking. I would definitely visit again to experience the other variations they offer but maybe next time a little less assistance in cooking :-P

Love their restaurant design.. I have never been to Japan, but it has an authentic Japanese impression. Staff was very welcoming. They provided kids with kiddie plastic plate, utensils and cup - for girls, Frozen design.

My first time to hear about, and taste Okonomiyaki. Their name is DOHTONBORI -An Okonomiyaki Experience. Of course, we had to try that, we ordered Mixed Okonomiyaki. Happy to watch them cook it infront of us. The smell will just cling to your clothes. That's alright as we enjoyed it.. a mix of flavors, soft and chewy texture. Always a delight to be here. My family loves Japanese food, and when we can't think of where to spend special Sunday dinners, Dohtonbori will always be out go-to place. We've tried most of the items on the menu and everything lives up to the hype, even their ramen! I love that they have utensils for little kids. My son always enjoys his Disney Cars plate and bowl. Serving time is usually the problem, since the place is always packed and most of the food is prepared in front of you from scratch. Don't go when you're HANGRY to begin with, go when you're just hungry ;) we especially love the yakisoba/okonomiyaki hybrid. Sulit and very yummy. It's also a plus that you don't have to break the bank just to enjoy a hearty and authentic Japanese meal.

Thanks to the mouthwatering photos I see on social media, I had a few sleepless nights and experienced intense FOMO (oh yeah! I feel like a millennial) when a food group had an eat up in this popular okonomiyaki restaurant along Missouri Street. And after months of drooling and waiting and more drooling, I have finally set foot inside... DOTONBORI!!!

PON POKO PON NO PON!!! (Did I get it right?)

We were asked if we would like to dine in the tatami mat area and I immediately said YES. Let's eat Japanese style! Woohoo!!!

Water was served right after we sat down. (Plus points for that as the heat was too much!)

After browsing the menu, we settled with Deluxe Okonomiyaki (PHP360), Kalbi Yakiniku (PHP280) and Grilled Salmon Chanchan (PHP380).

The kalbi yakiniku was served first and the server prepared it for us due to our fear that we'll mess things up if we do the grilling and flipping. In less than 10 minutes, the kalbi yakiniku was ready to be enjoyed.

It was good. Tender beef with lovely sweet sauce. However, it was a bit on the bland side.

The deluxe okonomiyaki and salmon chanchan were prepared next and it took longer than the yakiniku.

While waiting and being exposed to the heat of the teppan plate, we kidded that our legs will be skinny after an unexpected sauna experience.

It took roughly 15 minutes before both dishes were ready to be "attacked".

I loved the deluxe okonomiyaki! It had a lovely mix of textures from the octopus, scallops, shrimps, beef, chicken, pork, squid and tempura bits. Crunchy, chewy, soft... It was a roller coaster gastronomical experience! 😆

The okonomiyaki sauce made the dish a bit sweet while the nori and bonito flakes added saltiness to it.

The salmon chanchan was flavorful too. It had a strong miso taste that made me crave for rice. Earl and K liked it too. K particularly enjoyed the vegetables. 😋

Overall, it was a great dining experience! The servers were very friendly and were quick with our requests.

I will definitely bring R here soon! ❤️

Dohtonbori is a fairly new restaurant in Greenhills that specializes in okonomiyaki which is a Japanese savory pancake. I’ve tried it a few times prior and didn’t enjoy the taste that much. But because of my friends I was able to try an okonomiyaki again and enjoyed it. Dohtonbori offers one of the most satisfying okonomiyaki experience here in Manila. First off I have to commend the ambiance and  overall look of the restaurant. The outside looks like your in one of Japan’s streets. They also have this big raccoon mascot outside. Inside the restaurant they offer a tatami room where you could sit and enjoy your meal. We opted for the regular seating arrangements instead.

Dohtonbori for our Sunday Family dinner – good thing we got a table right away and my Tatami Room request was granted. It was kinda hard having two malikots in a Tatami room with a Teppan in our table but we managed well without any casualties.

Husband got their Pork and Cheese Okonomiyaki and he loved it! He also got a bottle of Sake and shared it with me. He was so happy with the whole experience that he was already planning to go back even when we were still there.

I loved the Zaru Soba. Husband also tried it and loved it! We were never fanatics of cold noodles until this Zaru Soba from Dohtonbori.

We also got a Teppan Pizza and we got the Quatro Formaggi. Four kinds of cheeses – Mixed cheese, mozzarella, cheddar and parmesan made this teppan pizza so good! But what made all the difference was the caramel sauce that was drizzled after it was cooked. It gave a really good contrast to the rather salty teppan pizza. It was gooey and lovely!

I don't know what it is about Dohtonbori that makes me want to keep coming back for more. I've brought my friend here who's visiting from SG, and then another time I brought a friend who's visiting from AU – both of them have never had an Okonomiyaki experience – and they both enjoyed their food here. In another visit I brought my son here and he liked brushing the sauce over + sprinkling bonito and nori flakes on top of his Okonomiyaki.

I usually order the tempura soba & cheese Okonomiyaki. It'll take a while before I get tired of Dohtonbori, even though the options for pescetarian people are limited.
