Ate at the SM North Edsa Branch.
(I've never written a restaurant review before but we enjoyed it so much so...)
I've been seeing the Dohtonbori posts for weeks and finally today, me and my beau were able to go. We booked a reservation via phonebooky (and got a discount *wink) because I've read that the waiting line takes a while. When we got there, fortunately, there wasn't a line. We were greeted warmly when we came in and requested to be seated in the tatami room. The place was great, the toilet was clean, the staff was accommodating, the food was AMAZIIIING. We ordered Deluxe Okonomiyaki, Quattro Formaggi pizza, Pork Yakiniku and Sakura ice cream (also got a free ice cream for answering a survey). Everything was delicious. At first, we let the staff, Angie, cook the okonomiyaki for us. She was very attentive, flipping the okonomiyaki at the needed moment. We cooked the rest of the food by ourselves. We exited the place, greeted us goodbye with smiles from all the staff. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Dohtonbori. We certainly will come back again! <3

Dohtonbori Greenhills branch is the best, its my 2nd time here n the staff were so polite n the food Is really good!!!!! I've worked in Japan for quite a long time been to a lot of restos there and I can say that dohtonbori never failed me when its come to the taste of the marinated meat yakiniku style n okonomiyaki is really good! Galing!!!
First time trying this and I must say I wasn't impressed at first glace, but the flavors kicked in and the heat from their spices really hit the spot. We tried the cold soba as well and it was surprisingly good. The only thing is the price, quite hefty and since I'm used to lower prices back home for these dishes, it was unusual to pay these prices.
As both Japanese Okonomiyaki (savory pancakes) and Dohtonbori grows more traction in the Manila, why not evolve and make it even more interesting?
Last Thursday, I was invited by Dohtonburi to indulge in their Filipino Okonomiyakis- Kapampangan’s Kare Kare and Sisig, and Bicol’s famous Bicol Express.
The Kare Kare version, Japanese style was surprisingly satisfying- generous chunks of beef, eggplant, and string beans coated with peanut sauce and then topped with shrimp paste.
Since I am not a fan of fatty pork, Sisig didn’t sit to me that well. But if you like this rich dish, you’ll likely pick this as your favorite Okonomiyaki.
If spicy is your kind of meal, chili filled. Bicol Express Okonomiyaki should be your runaway pick. This is also a savory and sweet mix with its strong presence of coconut milk.
I’ll be back in Dohtonburi’s other stores soon since I won Php 11,000 worth of gift certificates! That’s for the token, early bird, game prize and best photo award. Who wants to join me?
I’m glad we needed to do some shopping which led us to go back and forth to Greenhills and try Dohtonbori. Their Deluxe Okonomiyaki is heaven! First time to try it and we were totally impressed. Their staff was very attending and helpful too. Worth the price 👌🏻
One of the most authentic okonomiyaki that I tried. The ambiance of the place feels like you're really in Japan. The sounds, the displays and decorations.
I personally love their gyu-don donburi bowls. The taste is so satisfying, also their katsu!
One of my considered comfort food is dohtonburi. Hiroshima okonomoyaki is a must try! I prefer this since this is more filling since it has noodles compared to the normal okonomoyaki.
Trying something new is what a real foodie wants. With that, I've attended the Sake Masterclass of Dohtonbori. We have been invited to try Kubota Sake, a brand of premium quality sake by Asahi-Shuzo Sake Brewing Co., Ltd. (since 1830) and Sake Master Keichi San showed us the process and what make it special. Made from high quality rice grains in which we technically can't remember the name.
Without further ado, these are the best Sake Food Pairing, hope you'll remember the confusing japanese terms hehe.
1. Kubota Senjyu paired with Butatama Okonomiyaki, Kimichi Pork Monjayaki and Chicken Karaage
2. Kubota Manjyu paired with Kalbi Yakiniku and Four Cheese Okonomiyaki
3. Kubota Junmai Daiginjo paired with Veggie Supreme Okonomiyaki and Chicken Shio
I've learned a lot over this masterclass and how it complements almost any kind of viand.

Sake, an alcoholic beverage made of fermented rice, is a long standing tradition in Japanese cuisine. It can be served chilled, at room temperature or heated, depending on the drinker’s preferences, the quality of the sake and the season. During a recent Sake Masterclass held in Dohtonbori’s first-ever store in Greenhills, my fellow foodies and I were treated to different kinds of sake produced by Japan’s premier sake brewer Kubota, paired with the resto’s okonomiyaki and other dishes. With the help Kubota’s Sake Master Keichi Nagatsuka, our group traced the history and traditions surrounding the production of sake.

Yes, you heard that right! You can eat ALL YOU WANT from their selected Okonomiyaki and Yakiniku choices. Available all day everyday in all Dohtonbori stores!
For the Eat all you can deal, you get the following for just P699++ :)

My favorite would be the Pepper Kalbi and the Four Cheese. The pepper kalbi has tender beef strips, while you get cheesy goodness in every bite of the Four Cheese okonomiyaki.
For the Yakiniku, the chicken shio is the bomb!
Don't forget to try their Cheese Tempura, Karaage and Edamame too!
