Craving for Filipino food but in a Vegan diet?
Or an omnivore eater foodie like me that like to try the vegan way! ❤️
Yez, you heard it right!
From your favorite pancit palabok to crispy pata! It’s all vegan!
What started out as a hobby of eating and cooking spicy food turned out to be a simple business idea – an online marketplace with dedication for people who would enjoy what we already love to eat.
May it be a ready-to-eat snack or a humble ingredient to your favorite dishes,
they are here to make these items accessible and delivered to your doorstep in the most convenient way.
Pantry by Rub Rack is the expansion to their food appreciation, serving vegan-friendly and non-vegan meals that suit any appetite!
So for now, I would love to share with you the food I tried in their restaurant:
* Vegan Nachos - this is actually cool because the salsa and nachos are made in vegetables
I love the taste of the salsa and the blend.
* Vegetaballs - I am amazed by this because it is made in vegetables unlike the regular meatballs. I love how soft the inside.
* Vegan Shawarma - I am wowed on this when the beef looking stuff inside is actually made in vegetables. Something to eat when your craving for some arabic food!
* Vegan Palabok - with vegan egg and chicharon that suits the Pinoy-style taste.
* Vechon Belly Rice Meal - not pork but made in vegetable and I love how tasty it is.
* Vegan Mac N' Cheese - with vegan cheese and bread which the kids would love.
* Lemongrass Iced Tea - not a fan of this flavor but for those health conscious, yes it will be nice.
* Coconut Ice Cream - Dairy-free and not yet released in the market. I love how tasty and creamy it was.

I am not a vegan and truth be told, I probably won’t become one in the near future. However, I am not opposed to maintaining a healthier lifestyle. This is why I have an interest in consuming vegan or vegetarian meals whenever the opportunity presents itself. Accessibility and variety is one of the major hurdles in my quest to consume more plant-based meals. When I heard about PANTRY by RUB RACK along Katipunan Ave. extension, I jumped at the opportunity to try this vegan-friendly restaurant.
let your meatless munchin’ VEGAN here at the pantry by rub rack. this vegan-friendly resto in katipunan will suit any palate and appetite as they whip up tasty dishes similar to that of real-deal-meat, totes less the guilt and calories of course.
each course looked, felt and tasted like meat, even the hard-boiled egg got us fooled, seriously!
their version of the fish ball was just amazingly good, packed w/ flavor as crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. the pancit palabok, i do not know how they replicated the shrimp taste in it but it was just palabok, complete w/ vegan chicaron. the shawarma, herby and toothsome. their nachos got a lil mushy but still good w/ their imitation cheese sauce.
onto the rice bowls, their best seller is the tapa, but what we LOVED were the ve-chon sisig and tocino. OMFG! your mind’s about to be blown away, what magic they used i’d like to know coz it really tasted as if it’s sisig and tocino!
we ended it sweetly w/ their coconut ice cream that’s made mostly of nuts! huh, i went nuts over that concept! though, it’s still in the experimental stage along w/ their vegan pastry ideas.
