The food is good . I gave 4 stars cause the place is so much better now compared before the carpet is not smelly anymore which is so much better.
I cant forget their Patatim. Fall off the bones, very tender and the sauce is really good. Their price is fine too given the very extravagant place perfect for celebrations, meetings or if you just want to have an extra special dinner with your loved ones.
Ordered yangchow fried rice (Large), Half roasted peking duck 2 way, Chicken corn soup (small) and fish fillet with broccoli (medium). Also, butchi (they forgot to serve. We already billed out, so we took it out)
There’s free nuts for appetizer.
Large fried rice is way too big for 5 people. And I must say that this is enough because it is filled with carrots, shrimps, etc.
Food 4/5
Ambiance 4/5
Customer service 4/5 (once you call them, they are available right away, but it happened that my father isn’t done yet with his food, but the waiter got it already)
Went here for Valentines dinner with the family. I booked for 12 pax. Considering we are a big group, I got an instant confirmation right away.
When we got there they had a bit of a problem looking for my table name as the misspelled my last name on the table reservation but we were assisted accordingly.
Food was good. Service was ok. Ambient was also good. The place was spacious enough for a huge group.
Yummy butchi! Crunchy & crispy. Tasty hakaw! Truly filled with shrimps. Gloria Maris special noodles just right to the taste. Servings were generous. Refillable hot tea. 'Love it! Worth the price. Place is undergoing renovation so we were seated in a banquet hall. Attentive and courteous staff. I'll come back soon :-)
We have always loved Gloria Maris! We ordered our favorites - Yang chow fried rice, Sweet and Sour Pork and Fried chicken. Serving was really for sharing and we even had left overs to take home.
The ambience was nice. The servers were very accommodating and very helpful. I recommend to try their seafood hotpot. So good. Only challenge we had was the cover of the pot. First they gave us without any a handle, the replacement was a lot bigger, so we didnt get to use it. But they're generous with water. My sister was satisfied.
Gloria Maris in Cubao is located at the 5th floor of Gateway mall. It's elegant and yet intimidating with its interiors adorned with intricate, massive gold-painted pillars. But don't let the appearance fool you. The prices are actually not bad.
I dined alone and was craving for Hakaw. I ordered that with a serving of Taro Puff. It took awhile to arrive though but they served peanuts for appetizers and a warm pot of Jasmine tea.
When my meal finally arrived, I noticed the Hakaw was quite oily as the container and the dumpling had a glossy finish. I ate one dumpling at a time and they were generous with the shrimps. Although, the grease on my lips were a bit too much for a steamed dumpling. The Taro Puff, as expected, since it's deep fried is definitely on the oily side. It was delicious. But I was only able to eat one as the Hakaw really felt heavy in my stomach.
The strong flavors left me hankering for dessert. I got the Mango Almond Jelly which was light and cold but having the 2 oily dishes prior to this, didn't quite sit well. I washed my palate by imbibing the hot Jasmine tea... the tea I believe worsened my acidity.
With all due honesty, the food was good but maybe I didn't have the right food combination. The hakaw was way too oily for me. Although all these cost me around 350, I'd say it's affordable for a place with a very nice ambiance. Service was so-so and my wait staff is a noob as she couldn't answer my questions on bestsellers or crowd faves but she tried.
I'll try to come back again. But not soon.
This is where I celebrated my birthday with friends, we enjoyed the food that we ordered, the price is just good it is not overprice, staffs are also easy to approach.
