Best comfort food! Served at our reunion and was a hit! Ate for breakfast, merienda, lunch...
Gustong gusto ko ang pilugaw at crispy tokwat baboy masarap
It’s a rainy night and ofc the most perfect comfort food is lugaw, goto, or arrozcaldo. This Special JTG Lugaw has everything, meat, innards, quail eggs, spring onions, even mushrooms! And sotanghon noodles (and achuete, hence the color). Anyway, the taste is amazing! It’s so good! Really comforting. It’s also filling! I wanted to try the fried tokwa but i was already full when we went here haha!
Okay, so this would’ve been an easy 5 star rating but their service needs improvement. We asked for the bill 3 times before we got it, and we waited for more than 10minutes for it. There were a couple of grab orders and few customers that time, I dont understand what took them long to give us the bill. The staff were nice though.
P.S.
please check your bowls, both of the bowls served to us had cracks, unless style yun.
It’s midnight and i had a sudden craving for lugaw. I immediately searched for a place and Lugawan republic saved my day!
I ordered their best seller Pilugaw and Pork siomai. Loved the bowl, their lugaw is flavorful. The place is great! Air-conditioned and clean.
It's late. As in pass 1 am, and you want to eat lugaw and tokwa't baboy. Well my friends, you come at the right place. ;)
Though now they have service charge, but still worth it
Lugaw is my Comfort food growing up. Pilugaw here is a level up comfort food that provides a nostalgic or sentimental value to me & my friends. What I like about it more is that you can even get creative in creating your own lugaw combinations 👌 I also fell in love with their Okoy 🦐
It's a pleasure to eat lugaw in such posh surroundings especially on a rainy day!
The Pilugaw really hits the spot! Filled with lugaw goodies like tripe, quail eggs, spring onions and garlic with added sotanghon. Basic Lugaw is also pretty good especially with added crispy tokwah in crispy pata sauce.
The restaurant is clean and the bowls look quite new.
Must try Goto hell if you love spicy food. If you love cholesterol a must try is their nilagang tuhod its really good especially with sili calamansi and patis :)
This place is nice, better than their old location. Lugaw (plain) is good. Thick and full of flavor, add patis to complete it. Aleta which is a deepfried thin liempo is a good appetizer.
They have set meals and affordable. Good sinigang. Kare kare is overpowered by the peanut butter but ok.
Fatima (staff) is nice and courteous. She recommended items to try too.
My friend Jess was craving for arroz caldo, so we went to this place called Lugawan Republic. They specialize in all things lugaw but they also have Filipino food in their menu. The concept of the place is to make your own lugaw which means you buy your plain lugaw and add toppings like goto, chicken, egg etc. I must say that their lugaw is quite good, the consistency of the porridge is thick and not watery plus it's already flavorful enough without any toppings. We also odered fried tokwa to go with the porridge and added toppings like goto and tito.
The place looks okay and is airconditioned, nothing fancy here. What irked me though is their waiter, who looked like he did not want to take our orders. It's as if he had better things to do. Plus this female staff did not look too happy when I asked her for calamansi. So I guess the staff ruined the experience for me. Buti nalang masarap ang lugaw dito, kung hindi nako! rebolusyon!
This is where I go to get my lugaw-fix. I don't go for anything else here but the basic lugaw. It's tasty, filling and the the ultimate comfort food. My only gripe is that they don't offer boiled eggs as an add-on, only quail eggs which can be bitin. Order the add-on chicken bits, too, for a heartier meal.
Their Pilugaw is similar to a Pancit Palabok dish, only in lugaw form. Nonetheless, the taste is pretty good, despite its mix of different ingredients (i.e. goto, chicken, sotanghon, black mushrooms).
I also loved their Crispy Tokwa and Baboy, which complemented my Pilugaw. The tofu was not overcooked, and the pork was perfectly fried (both tasty and crunchy).
