I have tried both the USDA Choice and the USDA Prime 21D rib eye steaks. These steaks are by far the best quality that I have found in the Philippines. At about P500 each, the price is much better than some of the other companies that also sell USDA Choice steaks.
Even though we waited for more than 30 mins, we really didn't mind 'cause their steaks are worth the wait! Our meat was perfectly cooked they were able to meet our requested doneness. We already ate here twice, and will eat again next time. Highly recommended to a steak lover like myself! Kudos!
First time to try meat depot - we are very picky steak eaters hence had high expectations.
Meat selection was quite limited - there are more meets available for take out rather than eating in.
But what matters is the cook on the steak - the cook seasoning was spot on! Medium and medium well doneness were perfect!
Really juicy steaks! We now have a new go-to place!
Steak - malambot at malasa ung steak.
Next time doblehin ko ung order
Service - ok naman maasikaso ung staff (kami lang diner that time)
Resto - malinis ung place pati ung mga lagayan nang condiments malinis din.
Balikan ko pa din to. Reasonable ang price so for me sulit naman ung steak
If you want high-quality meat for an affordable price and fast service, go to Meat Depot. It's a refreshing, no-frills approach to good steak which I've been missing in Metro Manila for a while. Here you get a basket, go to the fridge, and pick out a cut. The rib-eye (pictured) is highly-recommended. The price of each cut is stuck on, so you know right away how much you'll be paying for what you get. They tack on a PhP100 cooking fee, then you can pay for add-ons if you want. The sides that come with the steak are a little small, so I advise paying for an extra rice or mashed potato. I went back to this place three times in one week, so this is a pretty satisfying stop!
UP Town's Meat Depot offers steak lovers a cheaper choice without sacrificing the good taste. I am not a steak lover. And I eat steak only in the company of steak lovers. So I was with two steak lovers (husband and son) when we had dinner at Meat Depot.
There's a self-service system in place. You go to the freezer, choose your cut and then give it to the server. It will be cooked in a big flame-grilled station. You can see it being cooked behind a glass. You pay for the price of the steak and P100 for cooking the meat. That's the total bill. So it really is cheap.
I chose a small Striploin cut. My son picked a big Tomahawk cut. I actually enjoyed my steak. My son and husband enjoyed theirs tremendously. The steaks are juicy and soft to the cut. The server said the steaks are imported meat.
But for me, the best thing I ordered was the foie gras. It came with thin slices of apple to counter the really rich taste. With just a small serving, the three of us were satisfied.
Meat depot is not a fine dining restaurant. It's good for a casual lunch or dinner. There are some water spots on the floor. But I went there during soft opening so they're expected to improve on that. Tables are clean. And the smell of grilled meat was not really that strong. They exhaust system must be good.
Service is good and they're very helpful.
This is a good place to give a try.
