Along White Plains Avenue is a relatively new restaurant named after its chef, Seya. They are a catering group primarily and now taking another direction as they serve a sit-down Filipino food establishment.

Mia and I were joined by one of Seya’s partners. And since he strongly recommended the Bagnet and Sinigang, we got them as part of our late lunch feast.

Special Lechon Bagnet was crisp on the first bite and then shifted to a melt in your mouth experience. I suggest alternating the several pieces to its two dips, sinamak vinegar, and Lechon sauce.

I love Sinigang, and I found home in Seya’s Sinigang na Hipon sa Sampaloc. The bowl was generous in portions too considering it was only a small size. It’s one of their many varieties.

Our table also got the refreshing Paco Salad. I’d likely order this heathy plate again. This has fiddlehead fern, tomatoes, yacon and ubod.

The last savory dish was the Coconut Garlic Squid Adobo with Bonito Flakes. It’s Seya’s local flavor mixed with Japanese. I wasn’t much of fan of this, but still worth exploring if you like the fusion.

Finally, we had desserts! The homemade Suman with thick Latik was phenomenal. I wanted to devour it all, but I was already full. I recommend you have it on your visit here.

Every now and then, I pass by White Plains when I’m traveling home and I’ve always wanted to eat at one of the restaurants there because they all look so inviting. Finally, I was able to try out one of them and it was worth the trip. Seya’s Kitchen is fairly new to the place but it already seems like they have a fighting chance when it comes to their food. They specialize in Filipino cuisine but they also offer other dishes from other countries like wagyu or ribs.

It’s also worth mentioning that the atmosphere here is very home-y. It’s like you’re dining at your house so you feel comfortable being here. They have a garden-like interior outside and the inside feels like a typical dining room your grandma worked so hard on to decorate.

Some of the best things we had that day were their unlimited meals. They offer bagnet, sisig, or calamaris for only Php 349.00. You have to sign a waiver before eating because as you know, too much of everything has its risks. It’s not really anything you should worry about, it’s just a pre-caution. Because honestly, once you taste the food you’re gonna want to have more. I especially loved the Bagnet and the Sisig. The Bagnet was crispy on the outside but when you take that first bite, it has that melt-in-your-mouth feel. It just takes you to another world. It comes with bagoong, mang tomas, and vinegar so each spoonful is a mixture of different flavors. The sisig was also quite crispy but the sauce they use is what makes you want more, not only the sisig but the rice itself because it’s so tasty that you’re gonna want to pair it with more rice. I’m not a fan of calamares in the first place but it was also good. If you’re not a fan of meat, stuff yourself with this crispy dish.

They also have this shrimp dish which has a taba ng talangka called Puro (a product you can buy at their restaurant.) If you’re a fan of taba ng talangka, you’re gonna love this dish as much as we did. I’d bet this would also be perfect as a sauce to the bagnet.

The ribs were just heavenly. They were already falling off the bones the moment you touch them with your utensils. And the taste. Wow. There’s no need for any additional sauce, the savory and sweetness taste that the marinate has is more than enough for your tastebuds.

And for the desserts, they also have different kinds such as the suman na may latik and the dessert like brazo mercedes but without the custard. My favorite however, was the salted caramel chocolate cake. It was a moist chocolate cake with layers of (ofc) salted caramel and chunky bits of chocolate in the middle. Each bite makes you want more. They used to sell these by the tin but I don’t know if they still do that. If sweets weren’t that dangerous, I’d finish a whole tin can by myself.

They also offer catering which I highly suggest you consider at your next event and you can also rent the place for small events and get-togethers. The place can fit 60 up to 70 people including the outside venue. I would definitely go around and recommend this place to people because I believe they deserve more recognition. Try them out when you get the chance!

The food tastes really good, not salty. They don’t use MSG which is a yey! for me!!! The serving is good for sharing for 2-3 pax. You should try the Coconut Garlic Squid Adobo and Torched Salmon Fillet in Thai Basil Lemongrass Broth! The ambiance is nice and they have outside seating. They have a parking space and someone will assist you in parking. I’ll definitely go back. 😊👍

Great first experience at Seya’s Kitchen. Ordered two non-meat options, the salmon sinigang and the Coconut milk squid adobo dish (as per server’s recommendation). The squid dish was a definite standout. Squid was particularly tender and the flavor of the sauce was good. Looking forward to trying their other dishes. As for the ambiance, it was nice and quaint. Service was responsive and fast. Would recommend.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Seya's Kitchen. We ordered their Pako Salad and Torched Salmon in Thai Basil Lemongrass Broth. It was a heavenly meal! The Pako salad was nicely balanced and the torched salmon was just perfect--the creaminess and freshness of the salmon complements the tanginess of the broth. A must try in White Plains. Plus, they have parking as well, and the staff is very nice and accommodating 😊👌
