Nothing beats max's for always reinventing their menu. Even the simple tofu has been given a new spin that's making it the the list of faves next to their chicken "sarap to the bones."
We were late attending this birthday treat of my cousin that almost all the food was gone apart from what I indicated I liked when asked.
The chicken was still the best, the tofu was next. The sinigang was also good.
The staff were all wearing mask in compliance to the government mandate, yet you can still see the smiles behind the masks👌. Prompt service as well.
Oh the only thing that didn't come off well on everybody in the group was their dried cake.
We were on our way to my cousin's wake in Arlington when we thought of having a super late lunch slash early dinner at Max's. Mom knew what she wanted. But it took me forever to decide.
Finally, settled on Chicken Sisig. Problem: I didn't want white rice. Solution: Champorado (go figure). I was enjoying the rice dish when Mom was giving this look. You know, this typical bitchin ' mom look.
Well, she wasn't successful in bothering me. The Champorado was really chocolaty. A real champorado, if you ask me. The Chicken Sisig? I didn't like it. It didn't have that sisig kick (except for the sisig spiciness other than that, it was all too ordinary)
We ducked out for a quick lunch and ordered the usual fried chicken and rice, pancit canton and pancit luglug. I the chicken looked good. Consistently crispy and done well. The canton was also look real nice and tasty lots of toppings and generous servings.
I was a little disappointed with the pancit lulug. I asked for the bigger portion because I was stepping into back back meetings and needed food badly. It came out quite the merienda size :( tasted good though just a little small
