All time favorite restaurant of my dad. We go here for their signature chicken but for me my all time favorite dish is the sizzling tofu. It's just heavenly creamy and delicious. We also love their kare-kare and for dessert, the classic buko pandan special.
Max’s has always been one of the staple casual dining go-to places for pinoys and you can find them almost anywhere. Just in Cubao, they have a few branches and we’ve eaten a few time in their Ali Mall branch so we tried them out again for a review. The results can be confusing. Here’s why.
Always a pleasure dining in here. Their service is better compared to their Farmer's branch.
It was my first time to try their Tinola soup, and it was hearty. A lot of times we've tried out their menu items such as their Adobo and Tinapa rice (which by the way have to be consumed immediately and not recommended for take-out), sinigang, bulalo, fried and fresh lumpia, buko pandan, pancit, sizzling tofu, etc.
I really love their spring chicken and the caramel bars from their bakery.

It was despedida lunch for my uncle and antie, we ordered the group meals, we are group of 11 but we have to wait for around 30mins to get in.
The food arrived in exactly 20mins, the staffs are accomodating and this branch is quite small because they have room for parties. So anyways, the food are good as usual. I just have one problem, since the place is small, the tables and chairs are side my side, there is only a little aisles to pass. Unli sago't gulaman is the best. 😍
My family had lunch and fortunately, saglit lang ang waiting time. The service was excellent as the server is very kind and attentive. They even gave us free scoop of chocolate ice cream kasi birthday ng father ko.
The food? Delicious. We ordered Family Set C (good for 5) for P2499 (roasted nuts, 5 rice, liempo, sinigang na hipon, kare-kare, daing na bangus, chicken, buko pandan) and the bundle promo for P999 (ginataang kangkong, fish beancurd, 4 sago gulaman, 4 rice and chicken) Masarap and nabusog naman kami. Lalo na sa kare-kare talaga, eto ang mahirap gayahin sakanila e. This time may laman na ang kare-kare. Sa ibang branch kasi pag kumakain kami nagiging kare-kare gulay. Yung sinigang na hipon kulang sa asim. And the rest, okay na. Masarap :)
Awesome idea from Max's. For people like me who often go solo, it's kind of hard to pick a good meal in a restaurant that would not be absurdly priced or has too much servings on it. Their Kare kare rice bowl and Crispy Pata rice bowl is a must order. It doesn't have the carinderia like feel that it's shared with other guests. The bowl makes it feel personalized. I was hoping Filipino restaurants would have donburi bowls with decent viands and finally it's already here. Thank you. And it's one of those dishes that's usually shared but people often crave for. Hopefully they could add more variants of their rice bowl line like tofu sisig, or sisig. I could tell that this has a lot of potential. It's a not so fresh idea but diners like me who just want to be adventurous who is not at the mercy of waiting for a companion to eat, appreciates this. Service at Max's is pretty good, so I'll give them a 4.5 for a fast casual resto. Keep it up guys. :-)
We had an acquaintance dinner at d araneta coliseum branch. Aside from d usual good food eversince, I admired d good service. Prompt, courteous reception, quick order taking & serving, a total package of good quality service. Keep it up, Max's araneta. We'll be coming back soon!
Almost perfect service and still great food! The amount of time spent to wait is also minimal compared to their counterpart in Farmers Plaza.

I love Ali Mall especially during weekdays. Nobody goes here unless it is important. So will have a lot of space when dining in its restaurants. I always loved Max's Chicken which is very juicy. Always a family hangout on for us.
Went to this branch to avail the Php1,199 "Chick 'N' Kare-kare promo"
Max's Fried Chicken will always be my favorite though I wasn't really happy with the Kare-kare. To be honest, I'm a picky eater with Kare-kare dishes and their version is not a top-notch for me. However, their Buko Pandan dessert is a must-try for its pleasingly rich and sweet taste.
