I was shocked when I read the two reviews below. Was it the same place? Must have hit them on a super bad day. I've been eating Korean Fried Chicken for over 20 years. For about the same price, this place is sooo much better than the fast food variety. In fact, it's just as good as the specialty restaurant charging twice as much. The crispiness was really perfect. The sweet and spicy sauce was spot on. Their house chili sauce spices is up a little if you need more. The chicken smelled and tasted great. It was juicy. Did I mention 4 pieces of generous-sized chicken! Home run on value for money. Ditch the "value meals" and split this with a friend instead. TIP: Watching your carbs? Pass on fries or rice and get the radish instead--tasty, healthy, and filling.
Just a few steps away from our condo, this is my life saver when I'm craving for korean chicken! They only have a little space but should be enough if you are to dine. They also have delivery options too for an additional charge.
We love this Korean restaurant! We enjoyed their perfectly cooked chicken. We loved the flavors!
Only downside is that we waited too long for our orders to arrive. We were quite hungry then so we got a bit impatient
We tried their Yangnyun and Original Fried Chicken. It's really tasty and tender on the inside. Highly recommended for big groups and/or for parties.
Their cheesy toppoki is also a must try!
I think this place deserves my 5.0 score for a couple of reasons. First their food is well priced, very affordable. Second, the food is delicious, bonchon has met its match, serving the same quality chicken if not better in my opinion! Third, the staff are very accommodating and serviceable. They seem to care for their customers and that is at times lost in the frenzy of restaurants opening up in the Philippines. Lastly, the place has a great ambience, just as polished as thier food. Keep it up guys!
Food:5/5
The food was great. I went here with my bestfriend and we ordered half yangnyum with two rice and bulsazo since I like munching spicy foods. The taste of the yangnyum which is sweet and spicy is not just on its skin but also until the meat of the chicken. The bulsazo is spicy. I think its not for someone who doesn't like spicy foods. But the catch is its not just spicy, it has something more in it that makes you eat it more. I recommend this one especially for those who want a burst in flavors.
Service:4/5
The crew was very attentive to us. Although the guy who was serving our food drop the white square thing (idk what that is), he immediately come back with another one and wipe the floor.
Price:4.5/5
For a half of the yangnyum, it is already good for 2-3 persons. They gave a very generous serving of the foods. And its very affordable. Our bill cost 700 something all in all. We even take out some chicken since we cannot take it anymore.
The place is not that big so dont be picky if you are to eat outside since there are just 5 tables inside. And be aware that it may take 15 mins before your order arrive since the chicken is made from scratch to ensure the freshness of what they will serve
Chicken had been recently gaining ground in Korean cuisine. A number of restaurants here in the metro have been including fried chicken in their dishes, prepped up the Korean way. Oppa, a new Korean food franchise in Oranbo, Pasig, is in high hopes that you'll consider visiting them for parties or reunions soon.
Their pilot branch is in an ideal neighborhood at the heart of Portico, which is another high end project of Ayala. Oppa is more likely like a take-out place, given its kitchen size which is twice that of the dining area.
I had the chance of visiting Oppa to try out their food during their media launch. The people behind Oppa are the same folks who have successfully brought up Modern Sichuan, K Pop, and Ogawa, which can all be found at the Fort Strip in BGC, Taguig.
Chef Chanyang “Kim” An served us chicken, cooked in different ways - fried, baked, and roasted. I had the Padak Chicken. This is crispy fried chicken strips in green leek salad, which came along with a sweet and nutty sauce, that was kind of a bit spicy. It was definitely a refreshing start, with the taste of fresh veggies lingering in your mouth, which complemented well with the marinated chicken strips.
Oppa's yangyum fried chicken could be their specialty dish. Their signature Ganjang sauce was elaborate in it. The sweet and spicy flavors blended well into the meat.
They also have the classic fried chicken. It was the herbs and spices that brought out the meat's flavors. This came along with their thick pepper gravy.
Their most novelty item in the restaurant could be their Snowing Cheese Chicken. This juicy fried chicken was generously seasoned with powdered cheese. It can be a great movie snack, and may serve as an alternative to popcorn. Be ready to fall in love with this one.
They got healthier dishes too, such as their oven roasted chicken. This one is definitely more flavorful, yet less greasy. You may also enjoy their mildly spiced baked chicken, less the guilt.
For those who loved it spicy, check out Oppa's Bulsazo chicken. It is coined as the "Atomic Bomb" for a reason. This dish just explodes with flavors in every bite. It is glazed with a bit of sweetness for an extra kick of mystery. The fries that come along with it help tone down the spiciness of the dish.
