Sudden cravings for hot soup led me here. Upon reading good reviews, I didn't hesitate anymore...and this is the only (reputable) Chinese restaurant in the area (I think).
Halo-halo congee, beef mami, fried bean curd are all delicious and generous in portion. You can actually share the mami or congee, then order a dimsum easily with the roving dimsum cart, and you will be full.
Han Pao Tea House has been around for over 2 decades and they continue to serve authentic Chinese food on your table. I was able to visit them few months back and I was truly amaze by how they serve their food. This place in Shaw actually opened in 1997. It has some visible tears and wears but still neat and is actually pretty big. They have rooms for functions and meetings so this is one restaurant to consider.
Our family's favorite Chinese restaurant. We don't even read the menu anymore, we just order the usual noodle feast, tao pei roll, hakaw, chicken feet, and fried dumpling.
Han Pao has always been our comfort food restaurant. Food is great, pricing is reasonable and service is excellent. Im happy Zomato Gold is offering as well so other members can discover Han Pao. Best to order their hakao, kutchay dumplings and seaking roll. Salted fish fried rice, beef with broccoli and their fried chicken with Kropek are our staples.
My grown up kids were still babies when I started going to this place. In the twenty plus years that Han Pao has been open, the Philippines has had five presidents! This place is reliable. I know I’m always getting delicious, value for money Chinese food. Outside Le Ching, the hakaw at Han Pao is the best bang for the buck in the Mandaluyong/San Juan area.

Indeed one of the well established Chinese restos in the city!! I am so happy they kept their charm and mastered their dishes! Very laid back family restaurant atmosphere.
I didn't know that this delicious Chinese restaurant in Mandaluyong City exist until I’ve visited and tasted it.
Hanpao Restaurant is situated in Mandaluyong City and offers traditional Chinese cuisine and wide selections of dimsum.
During our visit I was able to try some of their specialties. The Prawn Salad and Seafood Roll caught my attention. Definitely I will be back again to order these 2 unforgettable dishes. Sarap!

As a Filipino, Chinese cuisine is really close to our hearts even hundred of years ago we have deeply rooted cultural ties with them ❤️🇵🇭🇨🇳 so for all Chinese food goers out there, make @hanpaoteahouse part of your where to go and eat resto list. They serve good comforting food 😋 we had Minced Pork in Lettuce, hoisin is love! My personal top picked Hanpao Noodle Feast, it’s good for sharing having springy rice, it has spicy pork, braised beef, chicken and steamed dumpling. I also love the Warm milk pudding I was impressed with the soft warm texture balanced sweetness perfect for dessert after a savory feast. We were served with Mapo Tofu, Stuffed Beancurd, Chopseuy and Chinese Prawn Tempura were all good..
This lone Han Pao branch has stood the test of time. It has been around for at least 20 years, serving authentic Chinese cuisine and one of the best destinations for dimsum. It is located beside one of Puregold's main supermarkets, in Shaw Boulevard. I have been here quite a number of times, going back and forth, particularly because of their Hakao.
So I had the Hakao once again but this time, I got to indulge in their other worthy dishes. One of the most interesting is their take on Noodle Feast. It was classic noodles topped with a colorful plate of wontons, beef brisket, pork barbecue, chicken, and bokchoy. It is a delicious fix good enough to be enjoyed by up to 4 hungry people!
I was with Mia on this journey, and she assisted me in consuming other dishes like Fried Tofu, Sweet & Sour Shrimp, Yang Chow Fried Rice, and other dimsum selections. Among these, the Sweet & Sour Shrimp was most memorable, thanks to its savory taste and ample portion. Not bad for Php 320!
Han Pao also serves desserts, rice toppings, and various set menu options. You can also book the place for any kind of celebration. The place can easily fit a hundred people.
Hanpao Teahouse is an undiscovered Chinese restaurant, tucked away in Shaw Blvd. It passed my picky Chinese food standards, so I'll definitely recommend this place to my family.
🥛 Warm Milk Pudding: This dessert gets its inspiration from the milk puddings of Hong Kong, with its nice silken texture and just the right amount of sweetness. I love this dessert because it brings back memories of late night snacking, back when I was still living in Causeway Bay. Plus, this isn't something you'd usually find in Chinese restaurants here in the Philippines, which makes it all the more unique!
🌶 Mapo Tofu: unlike the usual Mapo tofus I've tried, which taste like pure fire, this version incorporates sour black vinegar flavors, mixed with a mild heat. It includes diced pieces of silken tofu, mushrooms, peas and ground pork with a light peppering of sliced chili. My only concern: it could do without the peas. But taste-wise, I love it.
🦐 Stuffed Beancurd: slices of beancurd are deep fried and stuffed with shrimp in this dish. It comes in a sticky sauce to add some saltiness to it, along with some blanched veggies. The firm texture of the beancurd, and flavors that come alive with the sauce are what I like in this dish.
🥗 Chopsuey: steamed vegetables is something I enjoy because I reminds me of home. It's a mix of baby corn, cabbage, pork and mushroom that are simmered in a simple soy sauce til everything is nice and tender.
🥟 Fried Shrimp Wonton: my standards for deep fried wonton aren't that high. All I ask is for a crisp texture and for people to use new oil when frying. Thankfully here, the wontons pass with flying colors. They were delicious! Dip it in their homemade sweet and sour sauce so the flavor comes alive in your mouth.
🍜 Hanpao Noodle Feast: now this is the highlight among all their dishes. It's a sharing platter filled with springy rice noodles, topped with a variety of meats to choose from: spicy pork, braised beef, steamed dumplings and even chicken! Remember to mix it together with the sticky sweet sauce it comes with. Try the spicy pork— it's my favorite of them all.
🍃 Minced Pork with Lettuce: this one's another favorite of mine because it uses my all time favorite Chinese sauce— hoisin! Pork, veggies and mushroom are cooked in this sauce, then topped on a crisp lettuce leaf. It's a flavor bomb to die for. Seriously.

My recommendation: drop by during teatime, from 2-5pm. They sell their dimsum at 20% off!
Fun fact: Hanpao is the commissary of Kimpo, a Chinese restaurant in Banawe. ❤️
Thank you Seems LegEAT and Hanpao Teahouse for the invite!
Get your dimsum and Chinese food fix here at Han Pao Tea House.
It's my first time to dine at Han Pao Tea House and I didn't know they are already operating 20 years already. BTW, Han Pao means "Treasure". Han Pao is the commissary for Kim Po (tea house in Banawe, Quezon City meaning "Gold Treasure").
I like how this tea house looks new and clean compared to other tea houses I've been. It was spacious and it is available for functions, special events, etc. Service is okay. They were very assisting.
During our visit, we had:
Salt and Pepper Garlic Squid (P305.00) - At a first glance, I never thought it was squid. What's more remarkable is that it was soft in and out. The crunchy coating stays with the squid, making it tasty and enjoyable to eat. I can enjoy eating this dish with or without the dip. One of my favorites.
Taosi Fish Fillet (P305.00) - this one is savory and it's best eaten with their fried rice.
Hot Prawn Salad (P480.00) - a sweet fruit salad with prawns.
Yang chow Fried Rice (P250.00) - serving size is big. It has bits of mixed veggies, shrimp, meat. It looked dry but it was okay if you pair it with the Taosi Fish fillet or even in some of their dimsum (Pinoys love rice).
Han Pao Noodle Feast (P340.00) - probably the highlight among the dishes that were served (aside from the dimsum). It was affordable and the serving is big. On a bed of flat noodles, it was generously served with sliced chicken, roast beef, pork, and two types of dumplings. As expected, the dim sum is meaty. This is one of my favorites.
Warm Milk Pudding (P75.00) - it's like eating a hot taho but its sweetness is like leche flan. Of course, the milky flavor is dominant. It is one of my favorites.
Of course, we tried their dim sums (Pork & Shrimp Siomai, Hakao, Sea King Roll, Kuchay, Taosi Spare Ribs) and I can't get enough. It was big and chunky. Dip it with soy sauce and calamansi extract to make it more appetizing! Their dimsums are included in my favorites.
Enjoy 20% discount on their dim sums every 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
I recommend their Dim Sums, Han Pao Noodle Feast, and Warm Milk Pudding for first timers.
To save more, don't forget to avail their Special Set Menus (starts at P4,250.00). It is good for 10 pax!!
Thank you Han Pao Tea House for having us.

I can not believe there is a gem of a place that can satisfy our dim sum craving so near the abode.
Plump, generously stuffed and delicious dimsum with price points so kind on the pocket...
One of us is crazy about salted egg but we were not too crazy about Han Pao’s. We managed to eat about 5 pieces of shrimp cause it was too salty for our taste. We also had the Han Pao noodles, that one we liked.
Sudden cravings for hot soup led me here. Upon reading good reviews, I didn't hestitate anymore...and this is the only chinese restaurant in the area (I think).

after 2 years (nagdiet/nagpanggap) nakakain ulit kami dito at after ng unang subo ko nung noodle feast nila napa - "YAAAAAAAAAS GAAAAAAWD" ako sa sarap!!!
I've eaten at many Chinese restaurants before but they don't have what I always crave for from Han Pao!! This is one of our go-to places every Sunday, ng family ko, ever since I was in grade school or high school!! First time ako nakakain sa Banawe branch nila but since mas malapit to samin, edi dito na kami madalas kumain. When we go here we don't look at the menu na because we order the same dishes every time!! We've tried a lot of their dishes but these are our favorites:
Noodle Feast (syempre!!!)
Chicken feet (laging 3 orders neto!!)
Tao Pei roll
Hakaw
Fried dumplings
Yang chow fried rice
Beef brisket rice topping (guyz ang lambot ng karneng baka nila)
Spareribs rice topping
Cane juice (discontinued na ata)
3 things I love about them:
Food (duh!!!)
Service (attentive staff kahit madaming tao)
Value for your money (pag kumakain kami dito 1k lang para sa 4-5 na katauhan keri na!! Ung noodle feast nila sobrang sulit ang daming sahog/toppings!!)
💙💙💙💙
We were looking for a Chinese/Japanese restaurant near Puregold then we saw this place. At first we were hesitant because I don’t know the restaurant, but we still tried.
We were welcomed by the staff, and dimsum were offered to us. We chose from their cart. They also gave us tea. Very fast and accommodating.
We ordered:
California maki: the rice is a little soggy, wasabi isn’t that spicy. Needs a little improvement.
Chao fan rice: not that hot when served, but tasty.
Hakao/shrimp dimsum, chicken feet, and Tao Pey Roll: delicious. Period.
Will defined come back for more.
Our family's go to place for dinner usually after mass. We have been dining here since I was in grade school. You may ask why until today we come back? They have great customer service. The food is good and not too pricey. They have a huge selection of Chinese dishes and to add to that, they have unlimited yang chow! Yes unlimited yang chow every day starting 6pm! The resto is hidden in Liberty Center where Puregold Shaw is located. Try'em out guys! 😊🍤🍲🍜🍗🍚🍽
My family and I have been ordering from Han Pao since early 20's and Han Pao is our go-to whenever we're craving for Chinese food.
We always order: Hacao, Seafood Hofan, Crispy Chicken, Yang Chow Fried Rice, Sea King Roll, Chicken Feet, Han Pao Noodle Feast, Hot Shrimp Salad, i forgot the name of the soup but it's color green and has bits of seafood, ampalaya with beancurd, and their spareribs!
My family and I are loyal customers to Han Pao and they deliver food to our place when we're lazy to go them! :)
Hubby and I used to hang out here a lot when I was still working in Mandaluyong. It was one of the few restaurants that were open late and served good grub. As it turns out our friends know of this place and dine here whenever they are in the area. We met up for dinner here before going to a wine bar nearby.
Our friends ordered most of the dishes so I wasn't able to catch all of their names. We had Yang Chow, Chicken Feet, a cold cuts platter, dimsum and other dishes. I really liked the Taro Puff and the Salt & Pepper Garlic Squid which were quite addicting. The squid was fresh and soft. The Shrimp Ampalaya had a bitter kick but quite manageable. The Kutchay Dumpling was ok but the wrapper stuck to the container. I couldn't pick it up with just chopsticks. The meal was great and was even more enjoyable because of the company.
*a dimsum cart is pushed around, if you want something that isn't there they can make it for you.
My wife always tries different dishes -- and she loves them all. I order only one item -- the Halo-Halo Noodle Soup -- and that one bowl for lunch makes my day.
Han Pao!!! Growing up in Banawe, I used to go to their branch there. Sadly, their branch their closed and was rebranded to Lam Tin. Anyways, I was surprised to find them in Mandaluyong! Ordered their salt and pepper squid, taro puff and sweet and sour fish. What I really like about them is that they serve very affordable and good chinese food.
For me, it's a decent Chinese restaurant offering wide variety of food. They offer unlimited yang chow fried rice so you'll really get full even if you just ordered one main dish. Anyway, the unlimited yang chow is not bad.
There is only one dish that I can vouch for in Han Pao and that is the Han Pao Noodle Feast (P290). Though in the noodle soup category, you have the option to eat it like a hot noodle soup or a saucy noodle dish. Its flat egg noodles topped with everything! Beef brisket, pork dumplings, another pork topping and bokchoy veggies and sauce and broth on the side. Good for 3 people definitely a winner!
I've been going to Han Pao ever since I can remember. So naturally the place holds a lot of memories and is rather special to me. It's Chinese food that is simple, priced cheaper than other Chinese restaurants i know of (probably since the place is not as well known as others), and the food is generous in serving size and it tastes good for the amount payed for. Love a number of dishes such as their siomai, beef wanton noodle soup, pancit canton, Taosi fish fillet, salt and pepper spareribs, and yang chow fried rice. The place could use a bit of work as it feels ordinary, basically the bare essentials of tables and chair or booths. But service is okay and they aim to please.
