The interior of the restaurant is very spartan. Plain wooden benches and tables. The manager said this is no different from typical diners in Australia frequented by working class folks. Over at the counter, the specialties are written on a blackboard though there are also menus available. There is also a section where baked goods are made. Customers can see their orders baked right before their eyes.
The Food
As mentioned before, the specialties are a mix of Australian and Filipino. There are Filipino dishes such as Pancit and Kare-Kare. For the latter, they use Bagnet which is very tasty though the peanut sauce could use more zest.
Tasty Tucker’s main specialty is the meat pie. This is to Australians what hamburgers are to Americans. As the name suggests, meat packed in a crusty pie. They come in various flavors – minced meat, steak and mushroom and even curry beef. Each one of them is very tasty but most especially filling that you would not have to order anything else.
They also offer various baked goods such as bread of different shapes and sizes and cakes which are up to par with those sold in other bakeries and coffee shops. They too also taste really good considering they are freshly baked and well-prepared.
Also try the Cheat-Day Burger! It is so scrumptious you will be full in no time!
When I drive, I make sure that I pay attention on the road not just for the sole reason of defensive driving but to spot newly opened restaurants or cafes that are new to me. I’m on a continuous pursuit of happiness and trying out different food places is definitely one of my life’s greatest pleasures. I worked for almost 4 years in Boni, Mandaluyong and driving around Pioneer made me discover a few nearby cafes/restaurants that are worth the visit. Some of them are Mozaic Living, Joey Pepperoni, The Giving Cafe, etc. Tasty Tucker, being one of the few, already caught my attention few years back, but I never had the chance to actually pay a visit and it’s probably because of the not-so-inviting facade of the cafe. So when Zomato invited me over, it immediately rang a bell and since I was free that time, I said YES!
More meat pies please!
Product: I haven't been to many restaurants that serve Australian food so Tasty Tucker got my interest right away. They specialize in making these delicious meat pies that are just filled so much savory goodness, you can't have just one. Of course, they also serve other dishes and pastries. Their pastries are also worth the purchase.
They have different flavors of meatpies (Regular: Php 150.00/Party Meat Pies Php 50-55.00): Steak & Mushroom, Spicy Beef, Mexican, Pepper Steak, Minced Beef, Chicken Curry, Steak & Bacon, Curry Steak, and Tuna Pimiento. Each flavor will be what you expect it to taste like. The party sizes are as big as an average palm and the regular ones are probably around 3-4 inches.
They also have sausage rolls (Php 100.00): which don't taste like your regular sausage. It tasted kind of like a meatball but has a lighter taste. It's actually good even though it wasn't like anything we expected.
They also offer Filipino/American/Italian cuisines. There's pizza, pasta, silog dishes, pansit, kare-kare, we also had ribs, buffalo wings, and burger. There's really a lot to choose from and they're all have a reasonable price. I loved the ribs, it was sweet and was very tasty up to the last bite. I didn't the Filipino dishes as much because I was preserving my appetite for the pastries and desserts. But I tasted their kare-kare which I think should be cooked together with the greens rather than cooking them separately so it has more flavor. The wings were tangy and sour in just the right amount for people who love wings to like them.
The pastries, like I said is really worth your money. I totally loved the cheese muffin and the revel bar. The muffin was so tasty that you'd just end up realizing every single cheese bread you ever had was bland. The revel bar wasn't "nakakaumay" which makes it a perfect partner for a hot cup of coffee.
Everyone went crazy for the cheesecakes. Especially the raspberry cheesecake. Another perfectly made dessert because it's also not nakakaumay. It was creamy and the cheese is just the right amount of salty and even the syrup doesn't have such a strong flavor. It just mixes really well together.
Venue: Tasty Tucker is a restaurant/cafe located in HRM or near Pioneer St. Market. They all have the same owner. The interior looks like an Australian canteen which was their target. Very country theme-like. I didn't get to interact much with the staff besides the hello and goodbye greetings. The manager was there and she was the one who assisted us and even chatted with us. Thank goodness this place is near me because I'm getting me some of those meat pies and pastries again.
The other day, we checked out Tasty Tucker Wholesome Cafe along Reliance / Pioneer in Mandaluyong. It is the restaurant / coffee shop that is located at HMR branches. TASTY TUCKER AT HMR. It is a very casual restaurant, with picnic-style tables. The owners are Filipino-Australian – so this really started out as a place to serve their favorite Aussie pies. To cater to the market, they also added food items that their customers wanted – and that’s how they ended up including a lot of Filipino food items on the menu.
I am not used to eating outside of malls so this is a very interesting find. Brunch on a Saturday is a much needed escape. My tummy is happy. I had beef tapa with egg and garlic fried rice. I prefer my tapa to be dry with a slight crisp to it but this “wet” tapa is good enough. Flavour is just right. And yes, this place is a surprise. They have a direct access to HMR.
Good place for lunch. The salad bar is well organized and fresh. Coffee, bread, muffins are good too. I like this industrial atmosphere. Nice break during shopping

Wala kang maisip for lunch.. Try this Beef Salpicao ang sarap and maasikaso ang mga staff at mababait..... :) :) :)
The food was amazing! The burger and fries hit the spot 👌 Aside from the burger, the baked salmon has to be one of my all time favorites! Definitely coming back again soon!!
A perfect place for having a coffee or lunch meeting, the crew is very proactive they will give you an excellent customer service, and the food was awesome, the ambiance is very cool highly recommended.
Tasty Tucker has been always a very friendly restaurant. You can shop at HMR while you are waiting for your food to be served. It is an filipino-australian inspired restaurant so breads and their chef's special are the best sellers. The place is very cozy and they have television sets for you to entertain yourself while you are waiting.

This place is welcoming. Interiors are made of wood which feels laid back and of country style. Expect the place not to be sunny or bright.
The food prices are reasonable and usually the ongoers here are shoppers, as this place is connected to HMR. Not overcrowded (good thing). You can wear whatever you want.
The food servings are just right. They serve pasta, green salads, and filipino food. (I personally love their salad servings. They have salad bar but the servings are limited to a number of vegetables and fruits. You need to pay every extra fruit or veggie).
I suggest they should add always iceberg lettuce in the option of green leaf in the salad bar to be the base of fruits and veggies, as romaines and other leaves are perfect for burgers and sandwiches.
Im not sure how their ordering works, i mean, for all the times I ate here, I order in the counter and pay it directly. Not those typical, find - your-seat-and-call-the-staff-for-a-menu-and-order. Maybe, thats how it works here. I didn't bother to ask though, but no big deal.
For Desserts? Their blueberry cheesecake is exactly the right kind of mix. Not too sweet, not too umay.
At 180 peso worth of spaghetti meat balls, you'll going to go home stomach full. The food was salty-somewhat-classic. It really has an Italian/euro touch all over it. One thing I noticed, they got small amount of cheese on it. The place was great, although they don't have wifi. At a span of 7mins my order was served. More or less 10-12 people are dining. ( you calculate the lead-time relatively) The full blast aircon was y'know amazing (bring jackets with you) LoL -Well deserved stars 👌
Our food trip at Pioneer Market wouldn’t have been extra stuffed and memorable if it weren’t for their affordable and sweet desserts. We had Choco and Oreo Balls, Caramel Tart, Moist Chocolate Cake and Australian Lamington. All of these for less than Php 300. They were all satisfying with the Chocolate Cake standing out. It was super moist with two contrasting sweetness. The Lamington at Php 49 was surprisingly good as well. The coconut and chiffon mix was superb.
The night started off with some wine from Tasty Tucker Cafe. They were so generous to offer free-flowing (hint: UNLIMITED) wine for the entire event. It was crazyyyy! I just had a glass of their red wine though since I still had to drive home afterwards.
Aside from the wines, Tasty Tucker also gave us mini pies to try.
They're about half the size of their normal serving, which I greatly appreciated since having an entire pie (on top of all the other dishes we're trying) would just be too much. I especially enjoyed their Chicken Curry and Pepper Steak Pies.
Tried some of their quick bites at Pioneer Street Market. The fillings are good and heavy to the stomach. I was not able to get much background about this stall, though.

Tasty tucker was one of the stalls that shined the most in Pioneer Street Market. Having achieved tenure in the venue, the resto already knows what they want for customers to experience something new. They came out with different kinds of pies and sausage rolls in an affordable price. The sausage rolls was yummy, ingredients doesn't feel cheap and the bread was like a perfectly bake crunchy croissant.
The pie had generous amount of fillings and is good for family pasalubongs, office lunch or guilty pleasures. They have lots of options and flavors from minced pie of beef, chicken and pork variety to rolls. Will definitely come back until ive tried them all.
Tasty tucker has been on the side of HMR market for quite some time now. I've been wanting to try out their pies and luckily I was invited by Zomato Philippines to their food tasting event and tasty tucker was one of its participants. During our food tasting event in the Pioneer street market, I was able to try out their sausage roll pies and their wine. Will definitely come back to try out their other food menu. Get to taste how a pie and a sausage really taste like plus they are selling premium quality wines that you would surely enjoy.
Tasty Tucker serves a variety of food but during this occasion, we were treated to their variety of pies! Pies are very interesting to the taste buds because of the various ingredients that you can use in each one. The crust acts as the carbohydrates that matches with the protein that is usually found inside. For me, pies deserve more attention in the Philippines and Tasty Tucker is doing a good job in helping spread the goodness of pie.

A go to place for those who look for value for money. You can find here your all time favorites that will definitely satisfy your cravings. The walk or travel going to this place is really worth it. :)
We always have time for surplus shopping and this is located inside one. It appeared a year ago (i think, no that long). I love what they did to the place though, it has come a long way. Love the ceiling! Food are good nothing outstanding, good portions though. Love their chocolate cake, yummy chocolate-y goodness is there. They need to add more variety of food in the menu, (medyo nakakasawa na yung list).
You can access the store directly from outside and you dont have to go through the surplus shop entrance.
The existence of this place was a surprise to me! I pass by this street often but I didn't knew a resto is present, not until I went inside HMR and wandered in the electronics section...and, behold, there's an elegant yet simple resto! The interior design of wood on counter tops and tabletops, and the simple yet unique couple benches give the place a nice and relaxing ambience. That "brown wood" theme plus the high ceiling reminds me of New York's SOHO and Little Italy restos. I tried their blueberry cheesecake, but, was not impressed. Their banana loaf bread though was tasty. The banana slice and the interior design will make me go back to this resto. Of course, I'd probably try some pasta, and hopefully up my rating for this establishment.
Really pretty place. The ceiling is wood, the counter is wood, the tables are wood, and that's a thumbs up for me.
They are kind of letting out this natural aura as well, due to the plants around the counter area.
Pretty ambience, pretty good food, nice employees, but the only downside was the fact that it took quite a while for us to get our food. I had to follow up twice because it took so long, I thought they forgot about our order.
Other than that, the food was great. I suggest getting the Fish and Chips :)
The hot latte was pretty good also.
