Underrated by the reviewers. Food is great and service is fantastic.

Love the roast duck ,together with the pork with crispy skin
nice place and the food is great as well. the crews are attending each customers need and are always there to check on customers. food is good as well specially the roasted pork. we love our dining here and we would live to come back again. food will be enjoyed by all ages as the food is cooked very well.
I ordered the roast duck combo rice where I got to choose another protein to pair it with, so I opted for crispy pork. I find the duck well-cooked and delicious, but I'm just not a fan of the said bird. Not because it's gamey, but because it's so bony! I just thought that I'll try Kam's roasted duck for a change, but I still disappointed myself for not having a change of heart. Anyway, I really like the crispy pork. Aside from it being tasty, the meat is very tender and the skin is crispy. I'll order this next time.đ The waitress suggested that I pair the dish I ordered with their homemade barley. Even if I didn't have a good experience with barley, I trusted the waitress's recommendation and gave it a try. Thank goodness, I did! It's really refreshing and delicious and it doesn't taste like grass or plant.đ
Ordered Chicken and duck bowl for only 260.00 PhP only.
Kam roast offers great flavor of roasted duck and soy chicken at an affordable price.
Definitely worth it.
Got really curious about this Michelin Star so I dined and wasn't disappointed for their duck (don't normally eat) was really good with the plum sauce and duck gravy đ€€đ plus the Crispy Pork was a hit, really crispy and very tasty, Marinated Cucumber is a must try. Staff are very nice and friendly, they're sensitive to guests' needs they initiate what you need just before you tell them so. đđđWill definitely come back..
Really liked the Jellyfish, it was tender and good flavor. The Toro Asado was tender and tasty. We prefer this one vs the leaner version bec it has more flavor and more tender. The roasted duck noodles had too many bone fragments, you have to be careful when eating it. They should take extra care when chopping the duck.
I will make this short and sweet, this is perhaps the best roasted duck Iâve tasted this side of the world. The crispy skin wraps the sinful subcutaneous fat which then swaddles the juicy duck meat and packs it in one blissful bite. I need to go back . . . Now
We had Kamâs in HK and did enjoy it. We knew there wouldnât be goose here (as they find a good supplier, I understand) so it took us a while to try it. But finally did.
We had suckling pig, jellyfish, and cucumber (a dish we liked in HK). And we were pleased with everything. Cucumber crisp and flavorful. But that suckling pig was very good. Light, not greasy. And perfectly perfectly crisp.
Will come back for that.
Everything was really really good đ€€đ€€đ€€
Must try for me would be the pork char siu, either with rice or noodles. And their lechon macau - perfect with the mustard sauce! Too bad I wasnât able to take a photo of it.
Their soy chicken and roast duck was also good. Best dipping sauce would be sweet and sour for me. Breaks the saltiness of the meat.
Thinking about it now makes me hungry again!
Finally tried this place sans the long lines! I ordered Roast Duck Combo Noodles (+ Crispy Pork) and I loved it! Noodles are firm plus this order came with a small bowl of soup which is good too. The roasted duck and crispy pork were both really, really good, savory, and not too oily. What I didnât like so much was the sauce that came with the crispy pork cause itâs like wasabi. I usually like wasabi but this combination didnât go so well go that well for me.
Overall, this place is great but I also donât find anything super extra special about it. Iâd be back, yes, but I wonât line up for an hour for it.
Kam's is one our favorite restaurants. Duck and chicken combo and side order of black fungus are a must. Duck gravy is also delicious. Highly recommended. :)
Good service and great food. Prices ...just average. Waiters are fast and very accomodating and friendly. Foods are fresh and taste so good. Going back soon.
Finally, I was able to tried their roast duck. Itâs crispy and flavorful, but a little fat. I also tried their pork bbq and crispy pork belly were all good. Service was well attended.
Roast duck - we got the upper part (breast) because we knew the lower part (legs and thighs would be fatty). Lo and behold! The upper part also had a thick layer of fat! (check 1st picture). It was a tad more fat than I wanted to have, but the duck meat itself was so tender and juicy. They roasted it really well. Took me back to HK! âșïž
Soy chicken rice - the chicken was also good. I especially loved the ginger sauce. đ At first I was a bit sad that they only gave us a little but as I smeared it on top of the chicken and took a bite, I was amazed at the powerful flavor of the sauce! You could really taste the ginger! Since I am an avid fan of ginger sauce, I got more sauce from my dad. Hahaha. But if you're not so in love with ginger sauce, this amount would suffice for your this plate. The rice, I would have to say...it wasn't as I'd expected. It wasn't the same quality of rice that we usually have in HK. Wish they'd have better rice to complement their yummy roasts. It just completes the whole package you know?!
Wanton noodle soup - the soup was yummy. It had a clean-cut taste. The noodles were just đ đ đ wantons were also good.
Overall, the star was really their roast duck.
Service was really quick! Like what we'd have in HK. Very efficient.
Ambience-wise, my dad really appreciated their walls filled with the restaurant's history and success. đ
I waited for one and a half hours last December for my chance to eat at the Michelin-starred Kam's Roast along Hennessy in Wan Chai. After that long, my hunger pangs took the best out of me since there were still 10 or so diners ahead - I bailed out. I opted for the take-away and I got my order within 5 minutes. We got a whole goose and charsiu with noodles.
Upon reaching our flat, we eagerly unwrapped our loot and cut the goose and devoured the charsiu. I really love Chinese-style pork, no matter what region it came from. I love it done sweet and sour, with salt and pepper, spicy and hot, roasted like lechon or barbequed charsiu.
Reading about how good the goose was and Kam's links to Yung Kee and how the restaurant easily got its star, I expected a lot from the goose. Unfortunately, I was not blown away. Though, how would I know, I am not qualified to give away stars, anyway. I guess it's a matter of taste preference. Probably, I was introduced to Western style of cooking fowl, first. Like, I love Iberian Chicken or Duck Confit or Cassoulet or plain Southern Fried Chicken. Even in Disney, I prefer the American-style Turkey leg found in the US and served in HK over the Shanghai Disney Turkey Leg done the Chinese way.
However, give me Chinese-style pork then "don't talk to me while I'm eating, galit-galit muna." Today at Fashion Hall, I got the Two Roast Meat Combination of Char Siu and Roasted Pork with Rice (P340) and was upsold their Cold Barley (P70).
One word- "amazing." I just loved alternating spoonfuls of each with a bit of Chinese pechay and rice. The mustard sauce does wonders with the uber-crispy skinned roast pork. It tasted like a million bucks plus you get that nostril clearing sensation of wasabi. It's just a total sensory experience, with the smell, the taste, the crunch followed by the delicious reduction on the rice. The Char Siu is likewise sublime. I actually enjoyed this more than my meal in HK. Because I ate it fresh, served from the kitchen versus the take home that stayed in the bag for at least 10 min more.
Speaking of great Char Siu, I have 2 recommendations. If you are in HK, try Chef Jowett Yu's Ho Lee Fook, an irreverent take on traditional Chinese dishes that has more ex-pat customers than locals. I was introduced by one of their British chefs to their version of Char Siu. They don't recommend it with noodles or rice, but with thick HK style French Toast with chunky peanut butter and syrup. At first, I was skeptical but he was insistent so I obliged...and I think I have found the best way to indulge and encounter char siu. The varying taste layers of sweet, sour, salty, umami, textures like smooth, soft, chunky and crunchy were just phenomenal and phantasmagorical! In fact, upon arriving home, I tried the combination of BonChon Soy Garlic Chicken fillet with chunky Skippy's peanut butter on a thick toast...yumm, it works!
In Greenhills, try our friend Andy's Xiu, toro or regular, really good.
Our roasted duck cravings were totally satisfied! Tasty and tender! A part of me longs for the a crispier duck skin though but the visit was all worth it. Even non-duck lovers will enjoy this place. Noodles are really affordable. The staff were sensitive to our needs, the service was prompt and there are a lot of payment options, including QR payments.
Accommodating crew
Tasty pork BBQ (not a fan of roast duck)
Wonton noodles had crispy noodles in it (I was expecting hand pulled noodles. I havenât tried this in HK, so canât compare)
Prices are a bit steep
Loved the poached kai lan
Love Kams! Not quite like HKâs but its not bad. Love how attentive the staff always. Dont need to call attention for refills and theyâd even ask if you want more soup. Love their goose (my personal fave) in braised noodles, bbq pork or char siu with rice and the roasted pork. â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
Surprisingly the roasted pork belly (no pic.. was so good that we gobble it up every time it is served) and the char sui was the best dish for me, despite being well known for roast goose.
Had a date with bunso for lunch earlier. He skipped classes today with our blessing on account of an important errand that can not be ignored.
At any rate after the errand found ourselves in SM Megamall scouring the restaurants at Mega Fashion Hall for whichever type of food that will catch bunso's fancy..
Loved the food here especially their Roast Duck. We ordered half (P1500). Although quite expensive, it was really good.
What I also love about this restaurant is how friendly and accommodating their staff are.
Awesome duck and wonton mee! Tasty and juicy duck paired with dry or soup wonton mee. Flush it all down with their Jasmine tea and you will feel dining in a local HK tea house. Donât miss trying their Kailan, so crispy dipped on their house sauce. Canât wait to be back.
Kamâs Roast â introducing the new item perfect this Holiday Season, the âPipa Duckâ. November 20, 2018. No Comment/ul>. Kamâs Roast just released their new menu which is perfect this Holiday Season. This new dish is called Pipa Duck which actually looked and shape similar to the Chinese musical instrument named âPei-paâ hence the name.
Am not really particular whether a restaurant is Michelin-rated or not for as long it makes my taste buds act crazy in a good way. I'd say this place cooks amazing HK dishes. All the food I ordered tasted great bursting with touches of sweetness (BBQ Pork Rice), saltiness (cucumber), and sour flavors.
However, I don't recall these dishes back in HK had similar flavors as they were mostly unsalted and had bland taste to it. They did great though in complementing the Filipino taste buds.
First time to try this restuarant in the buzzing area of Ortigas Center. The duck was so nice and tender that I finished the whole plate on my own! Its worth the travel if your going to traverse the busy streets of EDSA.
Foodee Global Concepts continues to expand their restaurant portfolio with Michelin-star of Hong Kong, Kam's Roast. The first branch is located at the center of SM Megamall's Fashion Hall. I heard more locations to follow suit.Â
On this visit, my friends and I got to share one Whole Duck, half Soya Chicken and an order of Asado dish. As expected, flavors were on point and meat textures were soft and tender. You gotta have these with rice and side vegetables to complete the experience.Â
When the lines start dissipating, I'll plan a comeback at Kam's.
Excellent resto for duck and chicken HK style with family links to the iconic Yung Kee in Hongkong. Interiors are posh.
We had 1/4 Roast Duck and Half Soy Chicken. Both were very good. The chicken was especially succulent and yummy. Marinated Cucumber with Vinegar & Garlic is an excellent side. Braised Noodles with Scallion & Ginger was good too.
In line with HK tradition I had a hot Barley!
I Quack for Duck!
Roasted Duck is one of my favorite dishes of all time. So of course, I had to try Kam's Roast. I wasn't able to try it in HK (akala ng ibang tao dyan na sila lang nakapunta ng HK, Hi Bettina!). But I did try its "sister" resto.
Anyway, the Roasted Duck is the BOMB! At half for Php1500, it's almost the same price as the others but Kam's duck is (I think) is bigger. I'm just not a fan of the gravy. Maybe they could serve it on the side and not poured over the precious duck.
Also go for the Crispy Roast Pork and BBQ Pork.
If we were to choose, fried chicken, litson, liempo or roasted duck? It's hands down, "finish na", roasted duck! It's the WTF family table favorite! Seriously!. The last time we've reviewed a restaurant with roasted duck on their menu item was way back 2017 I think, it was President Grand Palace in Binondo and we are dying to devour another one. Thanks to a busy family day in SM Megamall, we've decided to find a restaurant for our early dinner. We've been seeing Kam's Roast way back but the queue is always long but since we'll have our early dinner, there were no lines and we get a comfy seat immediately.
Taste of the food is good. The char siu is tender, while the lechon macau has a good crispy skin that is seasoned well and the flavor goes well with rice. Only downside for me is the price, as I think itâs too expensive for the quantity of serving, but thatâs just me.
I tried Kamâs Roast in Singapore, and it was amazing, so I didnât have high expectations when they opened here in Manila.
We ordered the char siu but it was dry and not good, but we had a companion who doesnât eat anything but char siu, so we ordered it again. The second order was melt in your mouth good and flavorful, so we assumed the first char siu served to us was old.
The roast duck we ordered was half, we were quite surprised with how big it was. The taste is like the one we had in Singapore and the meat was tender.
The rest of our orders (sausage, chicken, noodles) were just okay, noodles had super small servings so we had to order additional food. No complains about the taste though.
Seeing that the star rating for Kam's roast is only 2.2, I began to doubt if this restaurant is really worthy trying. My wife and I arrived at around 5:30pm Sunday on a stormy afternoon, to see that the restaurant is still full after all the negative comments given by the consumers.
I thought that we can no longer order the rice and noodle meals given that is already past 5pm, however our server was kind enough to accommodate our request. I set on my expectations to low given how this restaurant's current rating is.
The barley and ice tea that we ordered tasted generic and its ok because that is not their specialty, we also held back ordering too much as we would try first the very basic orders and go from there.
I ordered the roasted pork while my wife got the roasted duck with egg noodle. Seeing it arrive made me even more anxious to try seeing that the rice given me is the same quality as in Hong Kong... and after trying the first bite of that roasted pork, I was transported back to how I remembered it hitting my tongue. The pork skin is tender and crispy, followed by the very tender meat and the juicy succulent taste of the belly just radiating through my pallet, pairing it up with the excellent rice made my craving and day complete!
My wife's order of roasted duck was nothing close to my experience with the pork, the taste is good but can still be further improved as it is not as juicy and tender as in the one's in Hong Kong, the noodle is excellent though.
I am very sure that the service given here in the Philippines is better than in Hong Kong, I will be back here and try out all the other food items! I enjoyed my experience here.
The prices here if not the same in Hong Kong itâs almost the same. This for me is still the best Chinese style Roasting restaurant in the Philippines for now...

It's not often that one gets to dine at a restaurant with Michelin Star lineage, so when Kam's Roast opened in our shores, I was absolutely ecstatic for the opportunity to see for myself why they got the acclaimed award in Hong Kong!. Â Â Â Â I'm not going to lie to you, when I found out that SM Mega Fashion Hall was the location of the first branch of Kam's Roast, I was actually quite surprised. Given that I expected it to be rather upscale, I thought it would go to somewhere like Shangri-la Plaza or Podium.
The publicity it brings  brought us here, there is still waiting time of 10 minutes, the place is mediocre mall restaurant,  if it is not for the "Michelin citation" it is a plain chines bbq restaurant, how ever the  food is good to somewhat excellent, tender duck,  crispy skin , i just love their  plum sauce, it taste like Hong Kong.  I recommend the cucumber salad.  the price is just right,  calling the waiters  is  a bit harder. maybe it is full and  hard to get their eye contact
When news broke out that Kam's Roast was opening in Manila, people went wild. But not me. I wasn't familiar with the restaurant, to be honest. Though I've been to Hong Kong a number of times already, I have never been to Kam's Roast, so I was like, "Another franchise. Meh okay."
All that changed when I finally got to try the restaurant this weekend. Grabe. I absolutely loved every single thing they brought out from the kitchen! From something as simple as Marinated Cucumbers and Jellyfish with Sesame Oil to their specialty meats like Roasted Duck, Suckling Pig, Soya Chicken, and BBQ Pork! Everything honestly brought a smile to my face.
Food was good, you can never go wrong with roasted suckling pig. The roast duck was tender and was quite good. The wanton soup was ordinary, overall service was good. Only rant that I can think of is the long waiting time to get seated due to the hype i guess..
This place has been getting really popular so we decided to try it. :) I actually enjoyed the soy chicken best here. I thought that the sweetness of it just hit the right spot along with its savory taste. :) we also had the pork belly. Fatty, yummy, and satisfying. Duck was decent too.
Kam's Roast has been open a couple of weeks already, one of the recent and exciting openings by the FooDee Global Concepts group. For the unfamiliar, this has been one of the hottest restos in HK since it opened in 2014.
Kam's roasting heritage is rooted in decades of operations by Yungkee, another institution that's also an expert in the art of roasting but with a more formal air to it. This time, it's run by 3rd generation family members, who retained the recipe and the spirit by which their grandfather did his roasts back in the day, thus earning itself a Michelin Star for its Wan Chai branch. (Side note: there had been some intra-family feuding that led to Yung Kee almost being liquidated back in 2015 but it seems the resto remains intact so presumably it's been resolved).
PRO TIPS:
+ Avoiding the long queues? Arrive at odd hours. I went on a Saturday afternoon at 230 and I waited a few minutes only. By the time I left at 330, there was maybe a 20 minute wait.
+ Want this to be a cheap and light meal? Order the rice topping or noodle topping (or noodle soup) at PhP 220+ to PhP 300 ($4.50 to $6)
+ Want more of the meat? Order the quarter portion or one half portion starting at PhP 700 for the roast duck
We ordered the following:
1/4 Roast Duck PhP 900 ($18), bottom half of dark meat; good for sharing, it has crispy skin, well cooked and yet succulent duck. Not as refinely cut as premium Chinese restos but it's good enough. ââââ
Barbecue Pork with Noodle PhP 280 ($5.75), similar locally as Pork Asado, this one has both sweet and savory notes to it. Moist pork, too. Excellent. I ordered it atop HK noodles and a side soup. Winner of a dish. ââââ
Everything is good and as expected. Uhhhm except you go to Kam's for their roast goose primarily, which isn't served yet. Some governmental thing owing to bird flu maybe in China? That said, I was quite satisfied but still yearning for the day that they finally have roast goose! Nonetheless it's a good effort by Kam's and the Foodee group.

When I heard Kam's is opening in Manila, I was super ecstatic. I just came back from Hong Kong and ate the exact same thing so my expectations were really high. However, even before we were seated, I was disappointed when I realized they don't sell roast goose in this branch, which is what the establishment is known for. They do however, have roast duck, but it wasn't something that I can't find in other Chinese restaurants so it made me sad. Second, their lemon tea. In Hong Kong, their lemon tea is literally tea with lemon. It was very refreshing especially for a rather oily meal like Kam's. However, when I asked what their lemon tea is made of, the waitress told us that they are using Nestea. (Which is the sweet iced tea) I was a bit sad because I thought I was going to taste it again but I do understand that maybe they are trying to switch it up a little to match the Filipino palette.
Still though, my family and I wanted to try this place so we did, and we ordered a lot of dishes! Apart from the roast duck, we ordered the soy chicken, the suckling pig, toro asado, wanton noodles, lechon kawali, and blood sausage.
First things first, the roast duck ~ as it is the closest resemblance of the goose. (But still not the goose) It's delicious, alright. I love the plum sauce, but then there's nothing really special about it. Same with the soy chicken, it's just plain chicken. The wanton in the noodles are pretty good, but again, nothing special. Lechon kawali is crispy and delicious, blood sausage, tastes like Chinese sausage. Overall, these items were good, but ordinary. The only thing that stood out is actually, believe it or not, their Toro Asado. Now that is a dish I would go back to Kam's Roast for. The Toro Asado is very different from the normal Chinese Asado. The pork has a little fat, and it melts in your mouth. The edges have a good caramelization which makes the pork sweet and soft to eat.
To be completely honest, for the price point, I would rate this place a solid 3.5; but for the Toro Asado? It changed the game. I was surprised, to say the least, because I never tried Toro Asado even when I was in Hongkong because we usually order goose. So, yes. I might actually return for the Toro Asado and nothing else.
