Ambiance is just so-so but you don't eat ambiance! You can't go wrong with this place if you want to fill your tummy and not break the bank. We usually go for the P499 meal, super sulit! Love their fried rice, chicken (admittedly they let it go cold but it's still good) and other side dishes. We've never ordered from the ala carte menu because the P499 meal is the way to go. Take note that if you go late, they stop refilling the side dishes at a certain point so there might not be much left if you arrive late :( Parking is a bit of a hassle in the area though so don't bring a car. For dessert, you can buy some Korean ice cream from one of the nearby Korean grocery stores.
It was the best korean bbq i've ever had, typical hole in the wall joint which i really am comfy with and most importantly the food was amazing, fresh, tasty and very cheap!!!! I would come back again and recommend it to everyone!
So far Matgalne is the only place I know that offers korean bbq in Shang, thus we usually resort to this place to satisfy our kbbq cravings. Surprisingly whenever my friends and I dine here, the place is either empty or has few customers so we’re always accommodated immediately. Their restaurant is spacious, and with each table having grills, it’s very convenient that they have proper ventilation. Matgalne does not offer unlimited meat, but their ala carte serving is good for sharing, plus the price is reasonable considering that they provide premium meat. Each order comes with 10 refillable fresh side dishes (lettuce, kimchi, potatoes, radish, eggplant, soybean sprout etc). We would always go for their samgyeopsal (marinated pork belly) and woo samgyeop (marinated beef belly). The meat is tender and nicely seasoned. I also like that grill is designed that the excess oil will go straightly to the sides, away from where we cook the meat. Service is always good and they gave us complementary hot tea while waiting for the bill.
Fresh ingredients and tasty meats. Excellent service and friendly staff. What’s not to love about Matgalne? I definitely discoverered a new Korean go-to.
Overall rating would be 5. Food, ambience is great!
Favorite korean restaurant, I go here often with my family in big groups.
The order tends to delay when the resto is full, but was never served cold or bland.
Their meat servings are generous, better quality than the unli kbbq places Ive been to. I like the food's spiciness overall, not too spicy but just tasty enough.
This is the one and only place that fills my korean cravings!! I have been a fan of their ortigas branch (with unli kbbq) but now I find the whole unli thing and visit their shang branch.
It seemed like they become really crowded on weekends, so probably going at off-peak hours would be better. I didn't have to wait at all and was attained by the waiter every now and then - we were there at 2pm ish recently.
Generally, their food is great, with generous servings and various menus. Some menus have large portions like their meat, soup and appetizers.
If youre sick of the whole unlimited craze, this branch is perfect! Not very noisy, nice ambience, perfect for business or family meetings.
The family loves eating here because we get to eat good food at reasonable prices. Their dishes are delicious and their meat for grilling are of good quality. We also love how generous they are with the side dishes. During the multiple times we've visited, their customer service was always good.
I love their buffet, I had the chance to eat here twice. I love their selection of soups, noodles and fried meat and seafood like the fried chicken and tempura! Unlimited samgyupsal was good, too. I enjoy eating at Matgalne, the place is nice, the service and of course the food.
We typically spend our weekend family dinner/lunch here! We love the unlimited refill of banchan (side dishes) and the healthy food selection too (because of all the veggies! Not sure about the meat though hahaha!). The place is not too pricey and the food is yummy! We love it here! Try their soy garlic fried chicken and their woo samgyup!
My favorite samgyeopsal restaurant in the Philippines so far simply thanks to the quality of the thick meat, banchan, rice and everything else. Staff are helpful and friendly. The restaurant was clean and have nice ambience. Love it!
We had the family weekend dinner at Matgalne as requested by our niece. We were seated outside, as the place was full. We ordered Galbijjim, Bulgogi, Pajeon, Sampgeopsal, Ramen, Bibimbap. The unlimited side dishes was a plus. Food tasted very good. Galbijjim is tender and very flavorful. Service was very good as well. Price is average.
I particularly liked the Ramyeon here at Matgalne although they only use instant noodles. Most Korean restaurants only serve spicy ramyun - Matgalne has two variants for the soup base (spicy and mild). My stomach reacts to spicy food so the mild soup base is just right for me. It was also my first time to try the Haemul Pajeon (Korean pancake with green onion and seafood). It was good but their egg rolls (side dish) are the best. For desserts, they offer a lot of Korean branded ice creams. We just chose from their freezer and they just add it up to our bill.
