I was actually just waiting in the area when we ended up having dinner at Damiana's. They serve good Filipino classic dishes at friendly prices, and vegetarians can rejoice at their pretty extensive vegetarian menu. Interiors are also cute and a little quirky.

Sooooo good. In a location where the pretentious and over priced prevail, its great to find a spot that balances great ambiance, great service, and affordable options.

Drinks and food alike are great. The bulalo fries are very decadent but I finished it on my own. Lechon sisig is a perfect pairing to the drinks.

Charlie and the rest of the service crew was very attentive. Definitely a spot you need to visit.

I was at this place during its soft opening and a couple of other times... I have some favorites - lechon tokwa, tortang talong, taro chips, crispy skin...the mixed drinks are good to explore as well. Missing this as a hang out.

Hidden gem in Makati.

The food was great, a little bit oily, but still delicious. I love their plating, something fresh in the middle of the busy business district. I love the place, it gives you the feeling of home. Their decorations are also nice, legit homy feels.

One of the newest gems in C. Palanca. Was here the first time last night with former colleagues for our annual holiday get together.

This used to be a Japanese restaurant but didn't become a hit in the area. I loved the homy interior especially the long family table and chandeliers. The crowd was adoring too, not rowdy and loud.

As to the food, I ordered the all-day breakfast meal Daing na Bangus. When served, the brown rice was served on a different plate which gave me enough space to put fish meat on the side. There were two eggs and condiments. Presentation was commendable. Though I would want atchara, but everything on the plate was delicious just how I wanted it.

I also had a few beer bottles. Thanks to their happy hour. Wi-fi was fast and so as their service.

I will be back here next week for another get together and I highly recommend it those who live or work near the area.

Just visited this spot for lunch and we ordered Gising Gising, Twice Cooked Adobo, Lechon Sisig, Bistek Tagalog and Lechon Fried Rice for sharing.

Among our orders, Bistek Tagalog stood out for me. It tastes sweet with a hint of citrus which I think, represents Filipino's kind of Bistek. Their food are oily though and the actual serving size is smaller than what the server told us. Also, their take on the Twice Cooked Adobo is pretty cool, serving three different sauces on the side so you got a tastes of three kinds of adobo (i.e., adobo sauce with gata, classic, and spicy).

Surprisingly, though the space is not that big, ambience is quite fancy yet the homey feel still remains.

Damiana is one of those places that from the outside you cant really seem to figure out, in terms of the cuisine they offer and the ambiance of the plance. In actuality it is a restaurant that offers a slightly modern take on Pinoy cuisine. I used the word slightly because their menu is a little bit ordinary when it comes to pinoy food, nothing too inventive. The notable variations would be the various versions of veggiemeat and their own version of lechon quesadilla. The lechon quesadilla was a winner, it delicately balanced the rich texture and taste of lechon with melted cheese and the pita wrap, It was such a gastronomic delight. The gambas we ordered was ok, it couldve been better since the flavors werent absorbed by the shrimp. The sizzling callos had that fall off the bone tenderness (although this one didnt have bones), though it was a little dry perhaps brought about by the hot plate. Overall I would probably intentionally walk in to Damianas if I was around if I craved some of that lecho quesadilla, but I wont travel out of my way to go there.
