My daughter calls it my favorite restaurant. Just a couple of blocks from our house, less crowded that it's sister. Faster service. Friendlier staff. Also, some of the dishes here are cheaper than her sister. Bonus point, I prefer their noodles selection over NP.
I went with the xiomai and angsu beef wanton (as per the servers recommendation). The xiomi was ok, the angsu was very well made. Good amount of noodles in the soup. I liked the red chilly sauce with the food. Staff is professional and nice. The food is not top quality but for the price the value is quite good.
Next Door Noodles was a place I would frequent years ago, when I used to live close by. Recently, I decided to have a nice hot bowl of noodles as I wasn't feeling 100% at the office. It was a close walk away from the office, but even that seemed too far at that time, so I took a cab ride that took no longer than 3mins.
Since I wasn't feeling well, I wanted something hot and comforting, so I ordered my usual North Park fave-- Noodles with 3 kinds of Mushrooms and Wanton (Next Door is a sister restaurant of North Park), Hong Kong Noodles. For sides, I ordered fried Shitake Dumplings.
The dumplings 🥟 were really good. A new fave for me as it wasn't on the menu last I went there. It can actually be be a perfect entrée instead of just dimsum on the side. Huge pieces!
The noodle soup bowl 🍜 was great. Though, I think the Hong Kong noodles changed over the years, or they accidentally put in the wrong one. No matter what, I always get an order with 3 Kinds of Mushrooms with something else. Always been that way since day 1.
Food: 4.5 - Yummy Chinese food. A classic in my book!
Price: 4.5 - Through the years, the price has definitely gone up. But that is the economic rule of inflation. Good thing though that their sizes haven't shrunk. Doable prices.
Service: 5.0 - Service is excellent. I had a small incident--not going to explain what happened. The manager approached me personally and apologized.
Ambience: 3.5 - Simple and clean wooden and metal designs. Comfy seating and great place to eat Chinese food at any time of day or night.
It's raining... ⛈️ I am needing something hot, soupy, and comforting. 3 Kinds...
I love super love sweet and sour pork 😍
This place is nice avenue to chill with friends and reminisce. The ambiance helps a lot to make you feel at ease. For me it is a plus factor to consider a good restaurant. Place is small but well maintained. They can probably look into improving the service as as food serving is a bit slow.
I was there for midnight snacking with the family. Food was filling as we had congee and wanton noodles and beef as well, I specifically like their fried tofu! I won't mind going back but have to be ready as one has to wait a bit before your meal is served though.
A really Good Chinese Restaurant with averagely good rates and nice variety
The taste has authenticity of Chinese
Some dishes are with asian Spicies and specially good for Indians To Go for...
Worth a try and also the quantity is really good ...
Food is great, no doubt about that. The place is just dim and it feels gloomy inside. Service is a bit slow despite the place not being packed.
Discovered another dish to love, Angsho Beef (Php253). The sauce was delicious and beef was tender. Yummy! It's now on my list of North Park comfort food. 😬
Then we also shared Asado BBQ on rice (Php203), Jelly Fish & Century Egg (Php178) and of course Siomai (Php93).
I have been here twice and ordered the following dishes; fresh lumpia, congee, tofu and their fresh lemonade. The food they offer tastes the same as North Park and they are usually heavy on MSG (Fresh Lumpia or even their congee), OIL (Fried rice and other fried dishes) and Syrup for their lemonade. Yes, they offer tasty food but to cut on the price and earn more, they will certainly have these items in your food that will not make it as healthy as you think it is. Service is always prompt, not as crowded as their sister restaurant North Park along the same stretch of Makati Ave. I would always think twice before coming back as I mentioned the food is tasty but I really put into consideration the ingredients they use.
Our family enjoys eating here for midnight meals and the like! The service is consistently good. The food has a wide variety of options from congee (my ultim fave) to rice meals.
