Good ambiance and the place feels warm and homey. The prices are very affordable. Their ramens are delicious for their price, would be recommended place if you're craving for ramen but only have a small budget.
Was with my food buddy and it was a rainy friday of July 2017 so we figured its the best day for soup and et al. The best ramen restaurant I've been so far! place is great for people who loves Japanese food. The ramen menus are all 150 Php. You can also choose menus with rice and other side dishes. We ordered Chicken ramen, Yakisoba , Gyoza and chicken rice. Their food is instagram worthy!. Anyways, They all taste good, simple and sumptuous. Soup was flavourful. The chicken meat was soft and tasty. The ramen noodles was just right, not too soft, not too hard so its al dente as they say! Service is a bit slow the staff though were all friendly.
Go to place for my Ramen cravings. For only 150, it's not heavy on the pocket. Big No No to visit the place during their opening since I guess that's the same time they are preparing the food. Took 40mins to serve the food. Last visit was around 3pm and food was served in 5mins!
woke up later afternoon last black Saturday and was craving a different taste and while walking around IT area and saw Ramen Dojo - then I got excited and had a fulfilled feeling exactly is the word! satisfied tongue and tummy!
This has one of the most affordable ramens i went to but the broth was very oily. I didnt enjoy much of it and one try of this place is enough for me.
Ramen Dojo serves P150 ramen. Go find ‘authentic’ ramen places in Cebu; the prices play around P500 a bowl.
Traditional ramen starts by simmering chicken bones for hours, then adding cuts of pork, then adding a cloth sack filled with dried anchovies, then adding ground pork, then eggshells to clarify the soup. There should be a large onion in there somewhere, and lots of skimming for scum. The result of all this hassle is a soup that is the hearty heart of ramen. I watched this on Youtube, so it must be true.
If those P500 ramen places achieve the umami taste in their soup the traditional way, they charge fair rates.
I suspect the chefs (or cooks?) at Ramen Dojo use MSG or some kind of commercial soup base, and if they do, I do not much mind. Remember: P150.
Their pork ramen has soup with a creamy texture and taste as should be expected. The beef ramen is a bit salty, and the beef is a bit tough. The gyoza is tasty and not too greasy, but with a bit too much MSG. A set that includes a ramen and gyoza costs P250. A set is surprisingly very filling.
There are other selections in Ramen Dojo’s menu that I am eager to try soon.
Food: it's the only other ramen house in Cebu that I'd come back to regularly. Good straightforward ramen and gyoza with very fair prices. Don't expect to get the same full-tasting, long simmer broth of other ramen houses but nevertheless, it's very good ramen. Noodle texture is just right.
Service: it's self-service, otherwise they're efficient in serving
Ambience: rightly cozy; modern Japanese; clean
Tip: spicy is nice but even #1 (of 3) is hot enough. If it's your first time, you may want to dial it down. Store favorites: Tantanmen and the Pork ramen
Fast-food ramen at very affordable prices makes RAMEN DOJO an instant click to Filipinos who are in the hunt for something Japanese yet budget friendly as well. My order most of the time though is the Spicy Sichuan Ramen. I have tried up to level 2 spiciness and I will never do it again. Level one suits me best. Their chicken rice and gyoza are worth a try too.
Looking for Japanese meals at an affrdable price and on the go? Well this place will definitely be in your list!😊 At first I was seeking for an authentic ramen place but as I made some frequent visits, it reminded me of a fastfood type ramen which people craving for one can find satisfaction here. If you visit this place, be sure to order gyoza paired with chahan or yakisoba & a spicy ramen for a challenging meal!😉
We ate late after our class at night but the staff are still energetic and smiling. I ordered the tantanmen with gyosa and a bottled water which they serve on a wooden tray. The food was reasonable for its price. The place was clean and the staff were game on taking pictures of us friends. The whole experience was good.
