We got the roll set and katsu set. Really good. I'd say it's affordable, lots of servings even. We only got those 2 sets for 3 people and we were full. I'd recommend this place. Ambiance needs a little improvement.
I was looking for a Japanese restaurant in Robinsons Galleria, since my part-Japanese fiance just needs to have his Gyudon, when I came across Azabu. So we tried it out and it was such a great place, with really tasty food that (for us) is a good value for the cost.
The Okonomiyaki was wonderful- thick, just the right amount of savory, with a bed of bacon, and a generous helping of delicious sauce and mayo. It was a huge heap of a serving, too, that I needed help consuming it! My fiance had the Gyudon, and he was amazed at how there was a perfect balance of rice and meat, unlike other restos with just a small serving of meat. Their Gyoza was alright. What made Azabu a delight, too, was their free servings of sweet milk and coffee jelly after you finish your meal.
Azabu just made it to our top 5 favorite Japanese restaurants! πππ
At first I thought this is a pricy Japanese restaurant, but I was wrong because they provide just right for a yummy meal. Tried the set meal & we enjoyed it because adding a small amount, you can have the regular sized ramen! Hehe!π Their food taste great & I like to go back soon & savor the other food in their menu!π
The okonomiyaki is my guilty pleasure. Personally prefer it with the squid over the pork. The squid pieces they put in are huge and it's so satisfying every time you bite into one, which is quite often.
Delish! Among the 3 Jap Restaurants with good katsu don. Remarkably worth a good referral to family and friends. Affordable too! ππππππΌπ―

Their Katsudon was quite balanced in taste. Not so sweet and not so salty as well. There was a nice balance of flavors especially with the addition of the red ginger was a welcome touch to the dish.
I love Azabu! It's one of the best authentic Japanese restaurants in Cebu so far. The staff welcomes you with warm smiles and are very polite. The ambiance is relaxing and I love their simple yet appealing interiors. I suggest you try their set menus! Worth the budget and definitely a must-try! π

Azabu is my favorite best! First dined at their Lahug branch and brought with me our visiting clients from Brazil. Awesome feedback from the food and I very much liked the service. We ordered a lot from the menu and took seconds of the salmon sashimi.
The latest trip to Azabu is 6 mos later and I HAD to look for where it is located in Galleria.
There is an expansive menu and a lot of hard choices too. If you are eating alone, order the set meals. Even at a premium price... it is worth it. I ordered the sashimi set which comes with everything! Portion of ramen, salad, varied sashimi, rice, and varied tempura. Spent two full hours eating the whole darn thing. ππ
And finally just when I thought I'd be crawling my way out of the restaurant, voilΓ ! The set came with a coffee jelly dessert. Small serving but I thought it was a sweet gesture.
The ambience in the Galleria branch is more straightforward. But the Lahug branch has a more intimate feel.
I love a japanese restaurant that serves hot tea (a staple in all Japan eating houses). This one is free-flowing in Azabu.
It is my favorite best because they try their hardest at achieving authenticity, and they come closest to it. Their ingredients are fresh. The taste is simple and almost makes you think you are back in Kyoto enjoying that delicious sashimi or tempura. Their servings can be shared for two.
You need to at least try it once. And decide for yourself if you wanna keep coming back.
The interior is okay, seats are comfortable and the A/C works fine. However it does not have a "japanese feel" but it's okay. We are 3pax when we go and eat there but we order only 2 set menus since the serving enough(too much actually) for one person. The katsudon, oyakudon, tendon, their sushi sets are all good. I think it's worth the budget.
