At last! After a long time of planning to visit and try this restaurant, i was able to push it through last Monday. This have been on my to go list for a very long time since i read somewhere along the internet its existence. And it didn't fail me! This is the first time I have tried a soupless ramen. I ordered their Zenbu Mazesoba. i think it is their most special menu because it is the most expensive among the other mazesoba. Although ramen soup for me is very necessary, I didn't get disappointed when I tried it because it's still tasty as with soup ramen. The tender meat, the soft and thick noodles, the boiled and pouched egg is very unforgettable. I am planning to return here with my friends so I can brag them about my new fave ramen resto. Hope you can put more branches in metro manila.

Always has a welcoming atmosphere, reminiscent of neighborhood Japanese ramen shops. Their specialty, the Mazesoba is definitely a hit! A mix of the flavorful ground meat, chives, green onions, dried seaweed, onion and spice mix is spot-on! The Oimeshi is a good finisher to sop up the tasty broth/sauce. As a side, the Cheese Gyoza is a winner. Not too salty, but cheesy, crunchy and juicy. Definitely, authentic Japanese!

First time to Menya Kokoro. I went here as part of my office eat out. I ordered an edamame and a Black garlic tonkatsu ramen. Edamame was fresh but a bit too salty. The ramen was great. Good portion, great presentation. Staff are friendly and service is ok. The table size are small so would be a good idea to remove the bulky spoon and chopstick box. Bill out was fast, although since I did not pay the bill not sure about service charges. I'll be back once more to check out other items on the menu

They give you moist towelettes that grow in front of your dumbass self. You should order their soupless ramen. They say it's good. Haven't tried.

For our appetizer, we tried their Takoyaki (PhP 140) which came with a contrasting sweet and savory taste. Topped with a generous amount of Japanese mayo and bonito flakes, this delicious Japanese treat was fried on the outside while the inside remained gooey. Yum!

Apart from Takoyaki, Menya Kokoro’s Karaage (PhP 200) was lovely as well. The Japanese-style fried chicken was juicy and came out light, crispy, and solid on flavor. It’s a total crowd-pleaser.

For the mains, we got their best sellers, Tokyo Mazesoba (PhP 350) for me and Zenbu Mazesoba (PhP 470) for Louie. We’re told that the best way to eat a bowl of mazesoba is to mix everything evenly. Tokyo Mazesoba had a mix of elements such as the spring onions, chives, and runny egg over a medley of minced meat. I liked the springy and chewy texture of the noodles, and the thickness was also quite satisfying for every bite. Adding a splash of their kombu vinegar can help cut through the creaminess of the sauce. Portion your noodles and give this a try!

With almost the same components as the Tokyo Mazesoba plus more, the Zenbu Mazesoba looked more enticing and it also burst with savory flavor. Give them a good toss and relish the delicious explosion of flavors! The bamboo shoots and slow-braised char siu (braised pork belly) were definitely great additions to the dish.

Both Zenbu and Tokyo Maseoba are available (per request) in a non-spicy version. We tried the spicy version and the heat was tolerable. I think spice-lovers will love this rendition.

All their mazesoba are served with a complimentary bowl of mushroom shoyu (soya sauce) soup on the side–not to be poured over the bowl of mazesoba. Once you’re almost done eating the noodles but still have a handful of tasty ingredients and sauce in the bowl, raise your hand and ask for the Oimeshi. It’s Japanese rice that goes perfectly when mixed with the remaining sauce and toppings.

For desserts, we had their Matcha Ice Cream (PhP 90) and Kurogoma Ice Cream (PhP 90). Both these ice cream flavors remind me of our Japan trip, particularly Arashiyama and Kuromon Ichiba Market. More than the matcha though, here I liked the black sesame more because of its creamy sweet nutty finish.

Menya Kokoro is the largest mazesoba restaurant chain in Japan, and it’s definitely showing no signs of slowing down. Here, even without the soupy ramen, there’s no denying the beauty of a great bowl of mazesoba. The springy noodles, the great quality of ingredients, and the creaminess of the sauce all bring a successful dish that justifies a good value for its price tag. It’s pure bliss, even on the hottest of days, and the good news is there are more variations of mazesoba you can expect to try at Menya Kokoro in the coming months. Check it out.

First time to try mazesoba ever and thank the heavens for Menya Kokoro because it did not disappoint at all. I ordered the curry mazesoba and no regrets!

There are 3 ways to eat mazesoba -- 1) as is; 2) add some vinegar into the mazesoba; 3) mix the free rice into the remaining sauce. I loved how each method gave a different experience and I could not choose which one was the best.

Excited to eat here again especially since I love noodle dishes!

I didn't expect I can eat Taiwan mazesoba here In the Philippines. The quality of food was much better than I expected. Though the serving size may be quite small for guys, it's worth trying the dishes here.

Our girls love to eat Ramen so when I heard that there is this newest ramen place in Uptown, thought we give it a try. I didn’t realize that this restaurant’s specialty is dried ramen. I was hesitant at first because our girls like the traditional ramen with this tasteful broth and all. But since we got all curious we ended up eating here. I can only count in my fingers how many of us eating that are not Japanese. My eldest daughter ordered cheese mazesoba, mine is the everything on it soba (I forgot the name) and my husband got their best seller soba. While waiting for our orders, we studied how to enjoy the mazesoba - mix, slurp, put vinegar and then put the complimentary rice to enjoy the remaining soba sauce. When our order finally arrived, we loved the food. My daughter who is a picky eater almost finished her bowl of cheese mazesoba (👍🏻👍🏻 for me)The prices are enough for the serving and the quality is excellent. We will definitely go back to this and try some other dishes they offer.

First time to try Menya Kokoro and it did mot disappoint. The soupless ramen is very flavorful and portion is sufficient for one serving. While the menu consists of mostly ramen, there are a few side dishes like Takoyaki and Cheese Gyoka that are worth trying.
