Everything was delicious most especially the garlic butter shrimps. However, the Mud Crabs look big but don’t have much meat inside them. Other than that, we’ll definitely be coming back to try more of the other dishes.
Got curious about a seafood paluto place right in the heart of a busy bustling metropolitan. Heard some great stuff plus they were on sale so why not?
Alright, me and my friends came over here for lunch a few months back and was surprised with the cozy and chill interior. Honestly, I thought it was gonna be smelly but it wasn't. Damn! Totally posh place. Upon entering, you will see all the fresh seafood, meat, and vegetables on your left. There are also water tanks for more expensive variaties (like lobsters) which you can consume for an extra charge.
The scheme here is that you go to the wet market area to choose your seafood and then choose how you want it to be cooked. They have preselected cooking methods for different fishes and seafood so you need not worry. If you need help, someone is there to assist you. Quite convenient!
So, since me and my friends were such seafood freaks, we ordered a lot. Here's a run down.
> Salted Eggs Shrimps - Well cooked and I love the subtle flavor of the salted egg since I really don't want it to outshine the freshness of the shrimps.
> Singaporean Chili Crab - Nice flavor and well cooked but the crabs, too small to be enjoyed.
> Calamares - Quite a surprise to be honest. Wasn't expecting it to be soooo good. The cut was different and the seasoning was just on point. We had a few orders of this, hahaha.
> Grilled Tuna Belly - Very tender and still juicy so I commend how they cooked this. The second best food item here, nesxt to the calamares.
> Buttered Scallops - Uhhmm.. I liked the sauce but for some reason I felt like the scallops were overcooked as they tasted rubbery. Too bad. I was really looking forward to this one.
Overall, solid experience here.

Dined here for their promo of P888/pax. The resto's space is huge, great for families or big groups. What we love here is you still get the 'dampa' feels but in a clean, air-conditioned place. Of all the food we ordered, my faves are their crispy talangka, baked scallops with garlic butter & cheese, and fried salmon belly teriyaki.
Second time going here! Yoohoo
Must try:
Kinilaw/kilawin
Buttered shrimp
Oysters(steamed/baked)
Baked scallops
Crablets
Sinigang Shrimp/ fish
Nyay:
Tempura’s batter kinda thick
Anything Singaporean, just not my taste
Place is really nice, this is better than Dampa for me. If you would just want to chill and eat this is the place to go. If you want adventure with the “tawad” scheme go to Dampa somewhere in Cubao or Roxas.
Price is a ‘lil cheaper if you can eat a lot in one seating. If not, then I am sorry you cannot take anything away. Plus there’s a fee for food that was not eaten. They are big on unfinished businesses and food wasting you know and so should you! LOL
Tip: after lunch time is the best time to go here round 3-5pm as they still serve almost everything. Sometimes there is scarcity of scallops/oysters so plan ahead!
Seafood lovers, attack!!!
this is so much better than paluto in dampa!💯
We celebrated our traditional year-end party here last year. Food is great. Good thing malalakas kumain kasamahan ko. So sulit na sulit ang bayad. 😊
Sulit!!! The best paluto out there. They have the best choices and it all tastes good (not a fan of seafoods ok). My most favorite is the buttered scallops. It is good for family and group of friends. The place is clean and service is good too.
Ate here with family tonight.
Pros:
They accept reservations and are prompt to respond
Good and prompt service
Decent taste of dishes - personal favorites are the black pepper crab, salmon sinigang and garlic butter shrimp, even the inihaw na liempo
Clean dining area and washrooms
How it works - You wait for a server to come to your table so he/she can guide you to the paluto area, ask you what seafood you like and suggest ways on how to cook it then they bring your food to your table
Decent waiting time, even for new orders (at least in our experience)
Cons:
Unbearable amount of plastic used whenever you have a paluto order.
It was so disheartening to see them waste a whole big bag of plastic per paluto order, and I mean PER order. Isla Sugbu, that is just wasteful and ignorant to continue to use that much plastic when you are serving SEAFOOD. We could always do with trays, it's all going to be cooked anyway.
Another con would be that there were no oysters and tahong in the selection, but really this doesn't even matter because ISLA SUGBU SHOULD JUST REDUCE THE PLASTIC.
I also did not like the scallops, they did not taste fresh at that time.
I'm giving a 4 rating because overall we had a pleasant dining experience but please please please, if this ever reaches management, consider other ways of separating paluto orders.
I really really hope Isla Sugbu will notice my review and many others would reach out to them too about their unnecessary use of plastic.
Kudus to Marco and the staff they were very attentive! Worth the price!

Isla Sugbu is a huge haven for seafood lovers like me. It is located at the Venice Grand Canal Mall in BGC. Not that far from Ortigas and its really worth the traffic. Here's my review! ❤
FOOD: They offer paluto all you can for all the seafoods except for the premium items in the acquariums. They have lots of choices. Different kinds of fishes, oysters, crabs, shrimps, squids etc. And not just that. Unlike the other paluto which you will pay for the other sahog like gulay, here in Sugbu, veggies are also included in the paluto all you can. You can choose all you want, and the way you want it to be cooked. Just make sure you can eat all of it or else 💸💸💸 lol!
PRICE: I think the price of Php888 is just enough.
SERVICE: They will assist you in everything that you need. From choosing items in the market, to what dishes to prepare or how it will be cooked and everything. The moment you enter the place, everything's so organized!
PLACE: Huge place and beautiful. A kind of susyal unlike the usual dampa which is.. uhmm.. you know what dampa looks like. Haha!
