Good service and yummy food (sushi was awesome). Just lacking in ambience but it’s clean. I’ll come back. The menu selection is quite large and affordable.
This restaurant never fails to impress us and our taste buds!
They were kind enough to split the fish udon so we can share (they recommended to purchase additional soup because by default soup might not be enough for two).
Sashimi is extra smooth and silky!
Celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday here. They gave him a complementary rich Matcha Cheesecake that we would definitely order if it’s on the menu!

My mom and I really enjoy coming here for the modern Japanese cuisine that is standard fare in Tokyo. Highly recommend the cold tofu with uni and salmon roe, the wagyu burger steak, garlic rice, and the coffee jelly. Perfect! My mom loved the salmon and tomato salad from the seasonal menu.

The place is modern Japanese. Quite cozy. there's a long sushi bar and an open kitchen. Sitting is spacious and comfortable. The wait staff is fantastic, efficient but not obstrusive. No need to request refill of you tea cup the wait staff is observant and acts fast. Food is ok and many have different interpretations. The japanese egg omelet is a pleasant surprise. Cooked ala minute and served warm. The seafood kakiage was yet another nice interpretation, the veggies are cut in chunks not the usual jullien which was good but the seafood was a token tiny slice of salmon. The Chirashi Sushi is perfect. Quality seafood on a very flavorful perfectly cooked rice. We also ordered the spicy beef with cabbage soup. I could not find any fault in it but neither were the angles singing praises. Lastly the shrimp of the tempura was not to my liking but the batter was perfect not too little and not too much. Probably vannamei shrimp. I was expecting a little more as it has two Japanese chefs. Over all not a bad experience and would be back just for the service and the Chirashi sushi.

Moving away from the traditional and into more modern cooking techniques, Chef Koji Oki’s creations bring about a new take for those tired of the same, old, traditional Japanese food. In creating its offerings, Fukudaya openly borrows from the cooking techniques of other times and cultures — and the result is magnificent!

Take a bite of their Salmon Carpaccio and their Australian Wagyu Steak, if you don’t believe me. None are traditionally Japanese, but for both you will find the distinctly Oriental tastes the Japanese are known for. Even classic sushi and tempura got their international upgrades! Needless to say, if you want to take your palate for a new spin, then this is the place to go.

June 28, 2018 Deckard, Puppycat and I had second dinner here with the family. Since there was a lot of us I don't remember all of the orders but I'll just list here those that particularly pleased me.
Potato Salad - they serve this with a boiled egg on the side. Anything with Japanese mayo is a winner for me.
Smoked cheddar cheese cubes submerged in sweet soy with Wasabi on the side - I don't remember the exact name of this dish but I'm just calling it as I saw it lol. This was so interesting, it looks like it won't work but it does! I'm even thinking of recreating this at home.
Fried oysters - delicious and crispy. They serve this with potato salad on the side too and there are 2 dips. I went for the dip that was like tartar sauce.
Vegetable tempura - this looks like a blooming onion ring and they also serve this with awesome pickles on the side.
Karaage - everyone likes fried chicken. We squeezed lemon on top of ours.
All the sushi and sashimi - their salmon was like butter melting in my mouth
This seared tuna - at first glance it looks like the Japanese version of beef carpaccio and I'm not a fan of that so I just ignored it. Then someone told me, no it's tuna, so I gave it a go. Delicious!
Puppycat had her own order of beef strips over garlic rice. This came in a steel pot. She said it was delicious. She wasn't able to finish the entire dish, so we took home the leftovers.
The other kids had Udon, tempura and more of the Karaage.
For dessert, I liked the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Some of the others had coffee jelly that had whiskey in it.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal that we shared. Pricewise, it's comparable to the restos at Little Tokyo in Makati. The service was good too and they also offer parking validation.
Fukudaya is easily among the Top 3 Japanese restaurants in Manila.
I’d rather not spoil the enjoyment of the food, but rest assured every dish pictured (all 4 apps, 4 mains, and 3 desserts) is priced accurately to its level of quality. Foodgasms all around. (slight exception to the Duck Breast - approx P1200 but could’ve been had for slightly less, although this was my personal favorite)
The service was impressively lightning quick. Our server Reggie was on top of everything, and the food arrived to the table with no time wasted.
No significant complaints, a rarity. Thank you.
Hello everyone! How’s your 2018 been going so far? Just a week ago it was still January and now, we are already in the second month of the year. It’s time to say hello again to February, the love month. As husband and wife, we still look forward to this very special month because it’s time for us to celebrate our love for each other. We have become more conscious about celebrating Valentine’s now that we have a baby because we rarely spend alone time. Good thing every once in a while, we can leave our baby with grandma and grandpa so that we can have some quality time over movie, coffee, lunch, or dinner.
