One of my go-to places in BGC. My ultimate comfort food is their kimchi pilaf rice. The kimchi is not overpowering, and it just meshes so well with their chicken salad ❤️

This has been by far one of our go-to restaurants! Pasta is good with the right amount of creaminess and flavor that would make you crave. Pizza has the right amount of crisp and flavor. The meat and vegies are all served fresh and good!
Place is a perfect venue to dine with family and/or friends! 🤩
Do you guys think that simplicity is still at its best? One of the reasons why I love The Cook by Hongleepark because of its simple menu and surroundings. There are only two branches of The Cook by Hongleepark and the one that I visited is in BGC. The restaurant itself has a clean and simple design. But the amazing thing is that they only offer at least 4 types of main dishes that have different flavors. Fewer decisions to make and more time for catching up with friends or just relaxing. The fact that each main dish has the same price even if it is a different flavor is a plus.
...flavors are good, the place is clean, and the prices are reasonable.. their ambience is intimate, and the overall experience was outstanding, well worth a visit on my book
This is one of my favorite restaurants in BGC. Their pastas are the best, especially their Carbonara and their Seafood Aglio Olio. We always order their Pork Steak Salad, too.
I've tried their Frentato Pizza. It was just okay. Maybe I just don't like corn on my pizza. Yep. Others are debating abt pineapples but The Cook went on and put corn. Hahaha. Kidding aside, other pizzas are good. Personal favorite is Gorgonzola and Honey.
Bonus points bc their Ades are sooo good.
Thanks Metrodeal!! We really enjoyed our stay here especially if you’re kooking for an Italian-Korean restaurant this is the place to be. The ambiance of the place was cozy, an open kitchen setup. I really like the bacon carbonara because of its creaminess even though it is a bit watery. The pork pilaf was really good and flavorful also. We’re planning to go back again..☺️😊
Thanks to Metrodeal, we were able to discover this place. We had a great time! The pork steak salad was so good, I especially love the salad dressing. The pork itself was tasty, I love the grilled taste. The gorgonzola pizza was also good - very tasty but not salty. We added hot sauce to the honey dip and it was amazing!
The only downside for me is that their serving is so huge and the price is quite steep. It's not as enjoyable if there's only 2 of you eating here coz one dish might be enough and you can't try other dishes.
Hope they come up with smaller size versions of their salad, pilaf and pasta.
Italian-Korean. Weird, right? But the fusion of two popular cuisines actually work! It’s “Italian” because of the pasta, risotto, pizza and the salads, but it becomes “Korean” because the sauces and dressings are packed with Korean flavors. We keep coming back for the seafood tomato pasta, the clam pasta, the chicken steak salad, and the meat tomato spaghetti. The bingsu - or shaved ice dessert- is really good, too.
We’re not too keen on the stainless steel plates and glasses, and the giant stuffed toys are a bit creepy, but hey, go here for the food, not the ambience.

You can't go wrong with the Group Set A - Pork Steak Salad + Seafood Tomato Spaghetti. 💕💕💕 We were 4 in the table and the food was enough for us since we were really not that hungry. Will definitely be back!!
Go here for Italian inspired Korean! All you need to order is Original Chicken Steak Salad and enjoy! A hefty portion of tender chicken marinated to perfection. It comes along with green leaves, corn salad, fried egg, French fries, cherry tomatoes and pineapple slices. This is a steal at the price and is certainly good enough for two.
The fruity-ades are good too. We had Peach-ade and Calamansi-ade. Plus they give you a fresh bread with sweet butter complimenrary
Ambience is cozy. I like the open-kitchen setup.
Bacon carbonara - a bit watery when served so I added some grated parmesan and after few tosses, sauce became rich! It’s not a typical carbonara but taste is good.
Gorgonzola pizza - served with honey. I would say this is a really nice super thin pizza!! I loved it!
Rice with dduck-ish something - sorry forgot the name lol the rice is flavorful, but the meat on top was a bit weird. It’s like a burger patty but different.
The chicken dish was also delicious! We liked the tenderness of the chicken. Not dry.
While waiting for the food to arrive, they served a soft brown bread. I think it’s a molasses bread. Super soft but really nice.
Overall, the food was very filling. Really big servings. A bit pricey but make sure to get the group meal package :)
We made a reservation by 11:30, we arrived by 11:15 and my mom needed to use the bathroom so badly, but they told us that we could only use the CR when it's alresdy 11:30. So, it wasnt really a great start. (You might misunderstood that opening hr is 1130, but I inquired this beforehand, and they told us they are open by 11am)
As for the food, my sister and I, really liked the bulgogi pizza which has a sweet sauce and cheese on top, and the kimchi rice which is really flavorful, even those who dont like kimchi much may also like it.
Both the pastas tastes okay for me. They taste delicious but nothing different from other pastas. Carbonara is really creamy while the one in tomato sauce is kinda sour and has seafood taste.
The salad also is yummy. I liked how the dressing worked with the sweet sauce of the chicken.
The staff were also nice and accomodating, except with the CR part, which may be due to protocol.
As for the price, the dishes are usually for 2 to 3 persons and usually priced at 699. I think it's just the right proportion considering the taste and the amount of food but it could be really pricey if you want to taste many dishes.
We were won over by their Bingsu. While expensive, their servings are quite substantial that one meal can actually be for 2 people. Their bulgogi pizza was also quite good, surprisingly.
The place was nice, a bit dim but the lightnings was good on pictures. We celebrate my sister birthday here and comes here with the family, 6 person in all. The staff was okay, attentive but weird. We just had ordered, and I decided to go outside but one staff says to other staff "Oh, bakit aalis na agad", its not like I will not pay my bill if we just ordered and my parents were still there. Food was good specially the Carbonara, pork steak and pork Pilaf. Shrimp was a no for me and the seafood tomato pasta. I like the mango cheese bingsu but still can find a more better one elsewhere. And I saw so many comments, most on facebook, that the owner was rude, I cannot say if she really is but she somewhat eyeing us while we eat. I'm the only one who notice it because my family is too happy to care. My father was like 8 years old, he is so loud and like to make jokes that's why our table was noisy (note that we are the only guest at that time). I feel uncomfortable with the owner. Will come back here again, not with my family, maybe just my boyfriend to eat because I really love their Carbonara.
OMG! I AM LOVING THE FUSION!
Okay, its expensive. Probably cause you’re not supposed to eat it alone??
1 order is about 700+ but serves 3.
I ate everything in the menu but what made its way to my heart is the kimchi rice ❤️ and the baguette with Marinara Sauce!
The owner always sits there manages and even give her Employees cooking lessons every now and then. Well im always there! Its worth it!
Dont eat the deserts! I didnt like any of it. Even the tiramisu. But the main courses are superb! Their comfort room looks nice and clean too!
I just wanted dessert and i saw The Cook. They had bingsu so we went for it. We got their large mango cheese bingsu. They served it fast enough and provided us separate cups for sharing. It tasted good and there were lots of cheesecake cubes and mangoes. The vanilla ice cream on top ties the dish nicely.
The people two tables ahead of us ordered pasta and pizza. Judging by their faces i guess it was good. Will come back for the food.
5 ⭐️s for food - super sarrrrrrap! Freshly cooked, hindi tinipid ung ingredients, and big servings. We ordered the set menu no.2 then Bulgogi pizza.
5 ⭐️s din for the staff, super polite 😉
5 ⭐️s for the ambiance, clean naman siya.
SULIT NA SULIT! 😉
This restaurant is highly recommended. 🙌🏻

We ate here as 6 people. We thought the servings were small so we ordered 5 different kinds. Wishing I ordered the Kimchi Pilaf. But based on what we ordered, we were filled with salad which I felt was healthy and good thing we ordered 5 because I finished all the salads they didn't want. Hoping to come back here for a spicier order.
I'm so glad they purchased the Cafe Seoul Hwa brand to incorporate to their menu!! Cafe Seoul Hwa is my all-time favorite bingsu place for its quality desserts. I was finally able to order my regular orders here, which are the Mango Cheese and Strawberry bingsu.
Mango Chesse (P260 - Small)
Right off the bat, you are welcomed with a huge cubes of cheese, slices of sweet yellow mango, shaves of almond, and the mango ice cream on top. What makes bingsu here special is that they are very generous with the fruits and toppings. Inside the bingsu, you are greeted with more toppings like mango jam and milk.
Strawberry (P250 - Small)
All of their fruit-based bingsu have an identical construction. Strawberries are placed on top of the ice and drizzled with strawberry syrup, topped with whipped cream. Again, more toppings of strawberry jam and milk are inside.
A few things I noticed is that the quality of bingsu was much higher when they had their own store. he The cups used seemed smaller than before and the fruits used to have a thicker cut. The ice also melted a bit faster, but that may be because the place was not cold. Despite these noticeable changes, I would still frequent The Cook just for the Seoul Hwa menu. I haven't found any dessert place that could compare to the quality and standard that they offer.
Shrimp Pilaf is to die for! Plus they are now merged with Seolhwa so you’ll have your one stop Korean Italian fusion dining experience! If there’s one opportunity, it will be the lack of bachan aka side dishes which is very popular with Korean restaurants.
Another checked on my bucketlist. Love the food we ordered. Pork Pilaf and Spicy Chicken Steak Salad. Based on their menu it’s good for 2-3 persons but for me it’s like good for 3-4 persons. Big servings and worth the price.
✔️5/5 Pork Steak Salad 💘
✔️4/5 Original Chicken Steak Salad
✔️4/5 Seafood Tomato Spaghetti
✔️5/5 Drinks: Pink Grapefruit Ade
*vegetables - served fresh!!!
*pork meat - tender and super tasty!!!
*fries - yum
Lovin the fusion~!!!
Place is clean and very cozy, they have red teddy bears on their couch. Food serving is also very large, good for sharing. We ordered set A and got the pork salad and seafood tomato pasta. The pork on the salad was cooked like pork samgyupsal and goes perfectly well with the sauce. Vegetables were fresh. The pasta was good, you would even finish off the sauce. Many toppings of seafood too!
Got 2 words for you: KIMCHI PILAF.
It's MUST-TRY dish - Incredibly rich in flavor, in fact, it's so rich you wont need "ulam" for this anymore.
The serving is also big enough for 3 people to consume, so I'd say PHP 699 is a fair price.
Top if off with their bingsu. OMG. Happy tummy, happy life.
Definitely a go-to on your next "sweldo meal"
We celebrated my birthday here last year. I ordered pork pilaf, shrimp pilaf, bacon carbonara, meat tomato spaghetti, pork steak salad and chicken steak salad. I love the food it was so good. Even my guest love the food and the place. I use the metrodeal voucher. It's worth it. The staffs and the korean owner of the resto was so nice. They even waived the cake corkage fee. Will definitely dine here soon.
This is NOT your traditional Korean Restaurant, although similar in taste but there is quite a difference in their taste.. And i liked it.
Tucked in a place far from the busy High Street, my colleague suggested that we would eat at this restaurant. I was a bit skeptical of its serving size but as you enter, they already have samples of their serving - and yes, its really good for 2 people (hungry people)
Place is a bit contemporary - not much of the colors but there are greens around. Plates and Cups are all in steel (which is usual in a korean restaurant), music is also in Korean (which my friends are into - im not complaining). From your dining area you could see the kitchen completely, only separating by a clear glass you could see the whole crew inside.
The staff are very attentive, although when the place got a little packed they were also quite busy. Although calling their attention isn't difficult.
Food - Our orders were the Shrimp Pilaf, Pork Steak and the Seafood Tomato Pasta. I love the combination of the steak and the shrimp pilaf, they go really well together. Shrimp pilaf is a little sweet which compliments the pork steak. The pasta was a bit off for me but nonetheless its delicious. For a group of 4 people the serving is more than enough.
Price is reasonable - they have huge servings so its a win for me.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
i super love this spicy chicken salad. it has the right kick. though a bit pricey, the serving size is quite big. 3 of us were able to share this plate.
Ahhh i loved the carbonara! The serving is huge! I ate with my family and we barely finished it. The ambience is quite nice as well, the staff are very courteous and friendly. I would definitely come back here again.
Food was good. I like the pasta and the pork salad. Servers are quick and courteous. Their menu had improved. Been eating here for a long time.
At first I wasn’t sure if the Korean-Italian fusion would taste good but I was wrong! The White Tomato Spaghetti is a must-try. Their pilaf is okay, big servings ideal for sharing which already includes rice, salad, and meat.
My family and I love this restaurant! The food tastes great and the size! Oh my God, don't get me started with the size. The serving size was so big, 3-4 people can eat in one order. We were first intimidated with the price of ₱699, but thank goodness we tried it. It was so worth it! I highly recommend it.
Great food. Portions were huge and that I did not expect. Everything was so good. The interiors were so-so. The place was kinda dark kase (lighting problems HAHA). Overall, good place to share food & kwento with friends.
Been wanting to try this korean italian fushion restaurant and finally I was able to try it yesterday for dinner. The food is really good sharing. The dishes cost 699php but it can be shared by 3-4 persons. It’s really big. I liked all the food that we ordered. Don’t miss the pork steak!! The meat is so juicy and the salad is just fresh. The pilaf rice with tonkatsu is also a must order. It has giant tonkatsu on top. The tonkatsu tastes normal but the rice is really flavorful. For the pasta, I recommend the seafood pasta. The carbonara is just okay. Just go with another meat salad dish because that’s really the highlight for me. The service was great too. It took only 5-8 minutes to serve all the food.
I ate here last night, worth it yung binayaran ko. The food is really good. The crews are on point. Nothing bad to say about this restaurant and I'm a very satisfied customer here. I'll for sure come back here 😊♥️
The cook by Honglepark is a Korean-Italian fusion restaurant in BGC. They serve variety of korean rice meals and pastas. We got the pork steak salad (P700) which is good for sharing.
Price is quite expensive but they have generous serving so I suggest you visit here in group so you could try their other food options.
Overall I liked their food and looking forward in trying more of their food.
Anyongha-awesome!
Did I spell that right? Simply blown away with the fusion made between Korean and Italian dishes. Most of our orders tasted goood.
I was really looking for a nice deal at Metrodeal (yes, Imma stingy hippo) and chances upon The Cook. At first, I was quite hesitant to buy the vouchers since I'm not quite familiar with the resto. Did a little research and found good reviews so I took a chance.
Upon arriving at the resto, staff were friendly and helpful. The ambiance was cozy with Teddy Bears (hi, bros!) To keep you company while you dine.
We ordered Passion Fruit Soju, Spicy Chicken Salad, and Duck with Rice Pilaf. The serving was HUGE! Each dish costs PhP600+ but you can share it with 2 more friends.
The Spicy Chicken Salad came with fries and egg. It's that chicken sauce that makes the dish yum! Spicy flavor was just right and chicken was tender juicy.
The duck dish was also good. They served duck as a big patty. Patty and the pilaf were both seasoned well. Pilaf has melted cheese and egg.
The most memorable was the Passion Fruit Soju. Not a big fan of soju but this soju cocktail made me gulp down the entire thing easily.Yummmm...
If you are looking for a unique Korean dish presentation, this is it!
Good food! The Cook by Hong Lee Park is a fusion of Korean and Italian cuisines. The restaurant is located at The Forum, BGC. We ordered Spicy Chicken Salad and Pork Pilaf. Spicy Chicken Salad has veggies, corn, french fries and egg while Pork Pilaf has a lot of onions and pork topped with egg as well. The servings are quite big. 2 dishes are enough (more than enough for small eaters) for 4 people. The ambience of the restaurant is good. The staffs are nice.
I went this store by recommendation.
We ordered moksal salad and one of pilaf as well.
Both of foods portion was alot for 2pax of girls. And when our co worker arrived he ordered tender salad. For me I prefer moksal salad more. The price was 699php for one order. And the staffs were friendly and fast response as well🤗 I want to go there one more time
Like everyone else, I was drawn to the place because of the coupon. So, basically without the coupon I don't think I'll be eating here because I'm not exactly sure that it is value for money. The servings are group sharing but... I dunno man. A big platter of rice pilaf with shrimp and egg for original price of 799? I mean... it's rice and it's hardly paella. Salad greens with 3 pork steaks for 799? With a sweet garlic sauce that tastes nothing like garlic? Tastewise, everything had a sweet tinge to it which was unexpected because you expect your salad to be slightly tangy or your rice to be savory. My family enjoyed it, but as for me I generally don't like sugar in my main meal. I wasn't sure if they were trying to appeal to the Filipino palate or this is what Korean style Western food
really tastes like. After eating at another modern Korean restaurant, I have to say the latter (despite my Korean boss' insistence Korean food is not sweet. Sinong niloloko nya may asukal yung ham sandwich nila, but I digress. This will appeal to you if you like sweetness in your food. As for me, I thought it was alright but I don't think I'll go out of my way for this. The Japanese resto upstairs looks like it's a better option.

Celebrated my Sister's birthday here.
Its our 2nd time dining here, and it didn't disappoint.
We ordered Kimchi Pilaf, Seafood Carbonara and Pork Steak Salad.
Everything was satisfying and appetizing.
Thanks to our server, Joy for an excellent service. 😁
We'll probably come back!

Passed this place several times been enticed by the door display of their menu replica.
Yesterday is the day to try this wasn't expecting much as I've seen may be the display is not as generous as the actual serving but I was wrong.
Ordered the best seller the pork steak salad, lava cake as dessert, peach ade as beverage and steamed rice. The serving of the pork steak salad is huge, pork well cooked ,love the sauce that comes with it sweet and a bit salty.,👌🏼.Salad veggies of lettuce, beetroot, tomatoes, red radish ,corn kernels ,red cabbage, pineapple and even fries combined with Japanese mayo is very good, and it comes with fried egg too.
The peach ade was very refreshing ,sparkling drink with real peach in it,love to the the lychee version too.Its like drink champagne sans the alcohol content. And no unpleasant feeling when you have an acidic stomach.
The chocolate lava cake was a dandy, super moist cake with rich choco chips topped with vanilla ice cream.
Quality of rice very good.
Service and staff off the charts.
Place cozy ,good lighting and I love the red teddy bear.
Korean restaurant with a western inspired menu.Im not a western food guy but I super like this restaurant will come back again very soon.🇰🇷🇮🇹
Super value for money, awesome experience and the pickled sayote too.😊
The servers were so friendly - that's one of the highlights of this place aside from good Korean food. We loved the huge bowl of noodles in tomato sauce - forgot what it's called but it was yummy!
My boyfriend and I had our anniversary dinner here last April 18, 2017. We could have chosen a fancier restaurant, but to be honest, I loved every moment we spent dining here and could not have been happier with our decision.
We ordered their Spicy Chicken Steak Salad and Shrimp Pilaf.
Everything was so delicious! I suggest you don't mix the spicy chicken and the greens because, sadly, that's exactly what we did and wish we hadn't. Nevertheless, we still loved it. The taste of the salad was not overpowered by the flavorful spicy chicken and I absolutely loved the mayo they used on the salad. The Shrimp Pilaf was cooked al dente and was one of the most delicious rice meals I have ever had. I am not a heavy rice eater but this dish was my exception. I take credit for eating half of that dish which was supposedly good for 3-4 persons. In the end, we were bloated and sleepy, but every bit satisfied.
For the place, we were lucky enough to arrive before the dinner rush so we had a few moments to ourselves. The lighting is a bit dim inside so it's suitable for intimate conversations. They also have a clean restroom, which is always a plus.
For the service, I commend the staff who attended to us that night, whom I sadly forgot the name of. She was very polite during our whole stay and was knowledgeable about the food they offer.
Me and my family (8 people all in all) recently dine here at The Cook by HongLeePark. We used our MetroDeal Voucher for buying our meals. We ordered One Salad, 2 Pastas and 2 Rice Meals. We are very much suprised by how big the servings are. Even though that we are 8 persons, we still can't finish the food that we ordered. The price of the food is just right based on the flavor and the size of the meal.@ The menu is a little bit limited but we still enjoyed the food that they served. The Owner of the Restaurant is the one who assisted us, he is very accommodating and kind. The ambiance of the place is nice. We loved that they putted some Teddy Bears and some hearts decoration last valentines day as well. All in all, I am satisfied with this restaurant and I will definitely recommend it with my friends.

the food taste good and their servings is good for groups. my classmate bought vouchers from metrodeal and its very sulit! tho their food is kinda pricey for regular pricey ,but what can you ask for? their food and servings gave justice haha!
the owner (i think) is so kind because we saw how she teach her staffs in the kitchen politely.
Did I like it?
I love it! It's nice how the menu is very straightforward and you're not crowded with gazillion choices. The ambiance is great as well and the staff are very helpful. The dishes are amazing and the portions are huge. Aside from that, the presentation is picture-perfect.
The must-try: Shrimp Pilaf and Mango ade (100%!!!)
Is it affordable?
Yes. 800 pesos is already good for 2 and you'll reach almost a thousand if you'll order drinks and desserts.
Will I come back? Yes. :D
I was looking for something new and I chanced upon this place on Zomato. I've read good reviews, and since Metrodeal was having a voucher sale, I grabbed the chance.
The place was surprisingly relaxing on a Sunday. The staff was attentive and service was prompt. The menu offers limited choices, there were maybe 10 choices in all? But I assure you, it's enough. For first timers, just get one salad, one pilaf and one pasta. Each serving is big enough for 3-4 pax. Since they served Korean-Italian food, it's really something you don't see everyday. It's different, but in a good way.
Pork Salad Steak is a combination of pork (kind of burnt and salty but still good), and salad. The carbonara is swimming in sauce. Creamy goodness in every bite. And the best is the Shrimp Pilaf. It's just rice but with the right mix of sauce and shrimp, it's a meal in itself. Best wash everything down with their Sparkling Ades. We had the lychee. It's just soda water with real lychee fruit which is refreshingly sweet.
If not for the voucher discount, it is pricey a bit. But for the quality of food, I can say it's worth it.
Spent the pre Christmas holiday here with my buddies. This place is one of the memorable restaurant that I went to. Since the place is very serene, the only 3 of us eating. We had really enjoyed the food especially the Pork Steak Salad. It is amazing to see a pork menu with a side of salad.. I know that I am not that extravagant when it comes to dining outside. The pork was soft and cook to perfection. We also ordered Kimchi Pilaf since we passed the spaghetti menu. And oh, the Sparkling Ade (Passion Fruit flavor) is for the win! The price seems expensive in my budget but we avail a voucher from Metrodeal so it is okay. But overall, this is a nice place to hang out especially with your loved ones.
Having read a lot of positive reviews about this place, I decided to take my family of five adults and a toddler here last night. Using four Metrodeal vouchers, we ordered three of their bestsellers -- shrimp pilaf, seafood tomato spaghetti, and pork steak salad plus two orders of iced tea (since we're not really fond of sodas and ades). Everything was yummy and flavorful that we couldn't decide how to rank the three. Each serving is good for two very hungry or 3-4 moderately hungry persons. The staff were polite and very attentive. What caught my attention was how the pretty lady owner graciously attended to each table, not really interacting with the guests but checking if anyone needed any refill of their yummy side salad or drinking water. The personal touch was like a cherry on top of the ice cream.
I plan to come back here and try their seafood olive spaghetti (since I'm not a carbonara lover) and their pork pilaf.

Worth the price. Perfect experience. Price matches value. Excellent customer service. The Pork Steak Salad was so moist and tender, it was incredibly delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and there was a generous portion of steak too. Super loved the flavorful Pork Steak Salad, it's like a delicious pile of comfort food and I'm really into it.
Best Korean food is here! With Italian fusion. The bacon Carbonara and pork steak salad are the best. I would love to recommend this to my friends.
First time to try a restaurant wherein I liked all the food that we ordered. I am not much of a vegetable eater but their salad is the best. We ordered their Pork Steak Salad and it's best paired with the Shrimp Pilaf. Just make sure to ask the staff to serve it together. We were served first the Shrimp Pilaf and by the time the Pork Steak Salad arrived the rice is almost gone. I suggest that you try out their ade drinks. I really love their Calamansi-ade. It has the spirit of a soda but with the taste of Calamansi. Very refreshing. I would like to come here again. Just a suggestion for the restaurant ia maybe they could add a little more dishes in their menu. But all in all they are good from staff, the taste, the surrounding and the cleanliness as well.
Ate here for my birthday dinner, Everyone is so accommodating and very welcoming, That is a 5 for them.
For the food, we ordered the bacon carbonara, shrimp pilaf, spicy chicken steak, pork steak salad, seafood tomato spaghetti and the seafood olive one, kimchi pilaf.
I like the shrimp pilaf, the seafood tomato spaghetti, and the pork steak salad those were the only food that i really enjoyed out of everything we ordered. The shrimp pilaf together with the pork steak is something that will make me comeback here.
For the other food i don't think they're bad, but it's not great either. And the carbonara is so bland, it not appetizing at all. like the sauce is malabnaw and the bacon doesn't taste like bacon.
The Cook by Hongleepark is located in The Forum at BGC. If you're taking a BGC bus from Ayala, you may disembark at the second bus stop, then walk towards 7th Avenue. It's a block farther from McDonald's. Since our office is situated in 5th Ave cor 26th Street, the place was just a quick walk.
The place was pristine. The long tables and couches at the sides are perfect for large groups of diners. The walls are minimally decorated with framed pictures of food. The kitchen was in full view of the diners - and we could see the staff hustle about.
The staff are courteous and friendly. When we told them that we are with birthday celebrators, they immediately prepared a choco lava cake - for free.
We had three sets of pasta, two sets of pilaf and their bestseller, pork steak salad. We also had their ades in mason jars. The flavors are heavenly and they didn't scrimp on anything - from the seafood to the meat. The size of the servings was generous and can definitely feed at least six people. And the drinks - oh, loved the fruit ades. My fave was the calamansi ade but the passion fruit is a must-try as well.
And oh, don't forget to check out online deals for discounts. Happy eating!
who'd've known that a Korean-Italian fare would be delicious?! they currently have a promotion w/ #Metrodeal (299p for 500p worth of menu items) and we used this to feed 12pax - the remaining amount was charged off credit, haha. the ambiance was warm, the service too and the food was tasty. our eyes glared with every bite. what they mean on the menu being 'best seller' or 'must try' is true! what i loved about the place was they gave our birthday celebrants free lava cake ala mode. though it's not customary, because i asked for it and i was surprised they accommodated, we were just touched by this lovely gesture and i'm definite this place will boom and make a name for itself! gomabseubnida!!
We got the pork pilaf and passion ade. Both good. The pilaf was tasty but a bit oily, good nonetheless. Ade refreshing. Servings to share with 2 hungry friends.
Was looking for a Korean restaurant in BGC and found this. After showing it to my friends, we decided to dine here. We ordered Shrimp Pilaf and Pork Steak Salad. At P699 per serving, I'd say it's quite a catch. Four of us shared the two meals and, yet, we were so full after. It's that big. Best to dine here in big groups so you get to try a lot of dishes. Other than that, food was great. The pilaf was very flavorful. First bite and it made an impression already. The salad was amazing! Please don't skip this when you order. It goes with a huge serving of tender meat. It goes well with either the salad or the pilaf.
Plus the owner is so friendly and nice even to his staff, who are very attentive btw. We left the restaurant feeling full and happy 😀I would definitely come back for sure. This is such a good find! Hope more people get to try this place 😊

It isn't exactly that traditional Korean cuisine experience, but it is great nonetheless. The food was flavorful and filling for a reasonable price, and the servers were quite attentive. I'd definitely come here again with a larger group to try more of those big-bowl dishes!
The Cook by Honglee Park is definitely not your usual Korean joint. Don't be fooled by its name because this restaurant serves some of the tastiest Italian pastas in town.
First off, let me say that I love the ambience of the place. It's elegant, bright, and contemporary. I also love the simplicity of the menu (10 entrees with the same pricing). Everything on the menu is cooked to order to ensure freshness of flavour.
We've tried several dishes but here are some of my favourites - The Seafood Tomato Spaghetti Pasta utterly satisfied the glands on my tongue which filled my mouth with saliva. The first bite I took was slightly dabbed with the sauce and after biting into it, I knew the second bite must be DROWNED in the sauce. The pasta was perfectly-cooked and the tomatoes added a refreshing touch to the dish. The best part is that they did not skimp out on seafood.
I also recommend the Pork Pilaf (Rice Pilaf with Grilled Pork and vegetables on top). It's warm and comforting and the rice grains had a slightly chewy fried exterior. Or if you really hungry, then you can get the Pilaf and the Chicken/Pork Steak Salad.
To be honest, having Korean and Italian on the same menu was a little bit of a surprise but the food truly did not disappoint. Check them out when you're in the area.
Yeeeeyyyy!!! I'm just so glad The Cook opened up here. This restaurant is a breath of fresh air in Metro Manila food scene. I studied/lived in Korea for two years and I must say, the food looks and tastes every bit as good as my favorite fusion restaurant in Korea, 서가앤쿡. Hihihi! Plus, the service is wonderful. Everyone is accommodating! I will always be back everytime my cravings get me. :)
Even I am a Korean but I can say The Cook is a best Korean restaurant here in the philippines. Food quality was great even the flavor and texture was wonderful. You should try it! I also recommend their passionfruit ade! Fruity ade with real passionfruit's pulpy♡♡♡ This place is good for family and also couple who looking for nice restaurant for date. ;) Wanna try best Korean Food? The Cook is there for you! 더쿡 더더더더더 대박 나세요 :)
Looking for a Sunday lunch and found this place. Aware of the menu being good for 2 to 3 person..but what the heck I'm hungry....the plate is huge! And healthy being a korean dish, and as always, delicious!
I have to take out the rest though 😂
Was looking for a korean restaurant in BGC before I reported to work last Thursday and we found The Cook on zomato which had good reviews.
We ordered the seafood tomato spaghetti. I was eating with my bestfriend and we are both fans of pasta dishes so we opted for this one. The serving was good for 2-3 people. The dish was made more delicious with shrimp, squid and clams/cockles (not sure which). Although there were a few clams we weren't able to eat because it was still closed shut, overall, it tasted good.
We also ordered the salad with their home-made dressing. One of the best salads I've had. There were pineapples, corn, red cabbage, turnip, lettuce, tomatoes and a sweet dressing to put it all together.
The side pickled radishes were also good. You can expect every korean restaurant to serve that side dish.
All in all, the lunch was delicious. I just wish they offer an option to order smaller portions so that we can try other dishes too. But this place is recommended when you're going in as a group since all of the choices on the menu are good for sharing. Two thumbs up!
I discovered this place through a Zomato Foodie Meetup! I was expecting Korean food and was surprised to get fusion of Korean meets Italian and American.
Mr. Park was very accommodating and informative. I really like how the idea of The Cook was to have meals for sharing... perfect for us Filipinos and how we like to eat out with friends and family!
I found their menu simple but pleasing too. There are only 10 dishes which fall under 3 categories: salad, pasta, and pilaf. All their dishes are Php699 and are good for sharing. The menu says good for 2, probably 2 very hungry people (one dish can feed my family, there are 4 of us). 😂 Each dish comes with a description and a picture making it easier to decide... or more difficult cause you want to try everything!
We were fortunate to try 6 out of the 10 dishes! We had the Pork Steak Salad, Spicy Chicken Steak Salad, Bacon Carbonara, Seafood Tomato Spaghetti, Kimchi Pilaf, and Pork Pilaf.
Everything was good! I did like the salad and pilaf dishes more than the pastas. I'm not one to go out to look for salad... but I really REALLY enjoyed the salad here. I even told my mom about it as soon as I got home. Both salads are a must try in my book. They're also pretty filling as it comes with a generous serving of meat, greens, fries, egg, corn, tomatoes, and maybe a few more things.
When the Kimchi Pilaf was served, I liked it a lot. However, when the Pork Pilaf was served, I enjoyed that even more. I really did like the Kimchi one but thought it could use more kimchi and maybe a level or 2 more in terms of spicyness. I suggest you order the Pork Pilaf and a kimchi side dish and eat it together! Best of both worlds. Hahahaha!
We also got to try their Peach Ade and Passion Fruit Ade. Both were delicious and refreshing. Goes well with any of their dishes. I found it to be a nice way to clean your palette too when jumping from one dish to another.
This place is definitely a new BGC favorite for me! Go with as many people as you can so you can try as many dishes as you want. 😂 (or... just keep going back... that works too!)
The very first thing I noticed in the menu is the fried egg in almost all of the dishes. Even the bacon carbonara and seafood tomato spaghetti has fried eggs! Both pasta tastes nice though. The pork pilaf and shrimp pilaf almost has the same taste for me except for the meat it has. But the servings were huge, good for two to three people. Better eat with lots of company to try more dishes.
This restaurant's compact menu merges some of the nicest things about Korean and Italian cooking into a family style dishes that are great for sharing. Each platter costs exactly the same (P699), good for 3-4, or 2 hungry people, so ordering two dishes is probably about right for a small group.
The menu makes it easy for you to pick from two carb-based selections - pilaf or pasta - or their "steak" salads made with chicken or pork. Served in paella-style platters that are cooked to order and arrive to your table steaming, you'll find that they make hearty, comfort style meals.
Their Kimchi and and Pork pilafs will fulfill any rice meal cravings. Those of us who love kimchi would have liked it spicier, but it worked for me! There is very good flavoring in this pilaf, as well as the pork pilaf, because of the excellent stock they used and their trademark stir-fried, smoky flavor. I really liked the pork pilaf for its meaty richness and the sweetness of the onions.
Of their two pastas, the carbonara comes off a little mild and, well, crowd-pleasing. But that is the way many people like carbonara anyway, with cream and bacon. On the other hand, the seafood pasta is mixed in with fresh squid, clams and a rich seafood broth, and we kept going back to this dish until the plate was wiped clean!
Guys who worry salad isn't filling will like the pork neck salad, made with a custom-ordered cut by the chef-owner, Mr Park; it is well-marinaded and tasty. We also tasted the spicy chicken steak, marinaded with a little gochujang - spicy but not too much so - also a hit with those of us present. Heaped with freshly cut vegetables - tomatoes, salad greens, some fries (!) and an egg, there's no excuse for omitting healthy greens from one's diet. Kimchi can be ordered as a side dish, so spicy kimchi lovers, fear not.
Mr Park offered us some of their passion fruit and peach sparkling "ades," served in pretty carafes that keep the drink chilled. We liked this concoction so much that after our event we ordered another mango "ade" separately and hung out some more.
All dishes are made with a freshness and simplicity I sincerely appreciate and look forward to having again.
Thanks to Zomato and to Mr Park for hosting us on yet another great visit.
Whenever we talk about Korean food, we've been regularly accustomed to these: BBQ, Kimchi, Bibimbap, Bulgogi, Japchae, Ramyun & let's put in Melona to the mix. BUT, they're more than those. So much more. The Cook by Hongleepark is a perfect example of how that is so much more, is presented in so much less.
Thanks again to the foodie minds of Zomato, I was able to attend one of their special Food Meet-Ups in The Forum, BGC, where this time, we tried a new player in the market, The Cook by Hongleepark. Having opened last March 1, 2016, this Korean owned restaurant boasts of an eclectic fusion between KOREAN & ITALIAN (you got that right). Take in the unique flavors or Korean cuisine and instill the family-oriented servings of Italian cuisine, and you have a sure fire winner worth trying. As per its owner, this concept isn't new, in fact it has been a consistently famous fusion back in South Korea for some years now. So let's get down to business.
PROTONS (+):
+ Menu - what The Cook can boast of is how simple their menu & food selections are. They take pride that for now, they have just 31 items on their list (which includes beverages already) making selection for customers easy. Plus their menu has visuals of their food items, which is a plus especially because you may wonder how the fusion works, & the visuals will help. Their menu is quite big to hold, but at least it contains all you need to know to understand what they serve.
+ Food - the servings are good for 2-3 people, which they indicate clearly on their menu. I particularly recommend their Pork Steak Salad which has 580 grams worth of pork. It was very tender and the salad portions are hefty enough. Another dish I enjoyed was their Pork Pilaf. Their rice is cooked in a special broth with special pork and an egg to top it off. Very good for sharing and enough to satisfy a hungry twosome.
+ Spaghetti - yes, here's where the Korean-Italian fusion comes in. Their Bacon Carbonara has one heck of a serving and is just full of ingredients. They don't shy themselves from ripping what you want.
+ Ambience - interiors of The Cook are simple and modern. You can see their kitchen from your seat which gives it a transparent vibe.
+ Utensils - it's one thing to have department store bought utensils, plates and such in restaurants, but it's another thing to have custom-made ones which have your resto's logo engraved on them. That's some investment right there.
+ Drinks - despite the simple menu, they have great Sparkling Ade served in different flavors. I liked the Passion Fruit & Peach Ades.
ELECTRONS (-):
- Location's Parking - Your parking choices are limited. The closest would be the open prking behind the McDonald's in The Forum which gets full easily. So, if you arrive past rush hour, expect to either line up before parking or going to the Fort Strip which means a good 3-5 minute walk dependent on your pace.
- Lacking Menu Items - though the owner told us they are still improving this, you can't brag of having Italian cuisine without deserts. Simple menu, straightforward food items, but after a good meal, gimme some sweets.
- No beef? - yes, their menu is mainly Pork, Seafood, Chicken. No beef. Probably for now, but Koreans love their beef too. Hope this gets infused in their menu soon.
- Kimchi is not free. I guess when you get used to other Korean restos which have this like hot tea served in Chinese/Japanese restos, you're accustomed this Korean delicacy is free and available. Nuh-uh, it's for a fee. What's free would be the pickled vegetables.
The Cook?
On a hungry day, I'd dine here and may even devour their meals on my own. But on a regular one, it's best dining with friends or family. Their goal has always been food sharing with the big orders. So don't let the cost fool you, it's for sharing.
Cheers! :)
It was one of those hidden gems in the BGC area that you can fine those interesting fusion restaurants like this in the Forum Complex. Who would have thought that Korean-Italian restos can be possible? This restaurant is one of those exceptions. Their menu is just a simple no frills type of selection that you don't have to browse through pages of orders but everything that was served was prepared so well.
First from their steak salads, it is really a must try if you get the pork steak salad and the spicy chicken steak salad. For pasta lovers, the seafood tomato is more appetizing, the carbonara is a bit typical for me. Of course with the pilafs, you must try the pork pilaf , that packs a lot of flavor like their steak salad counterpart. The kimchi one may need a little more kick to familiarize itself from being a kimchi pilaf.
The ades are also great drink to compliment with what you have ordered The peach flavored was really refreshing and
once I return here I would order other flavors to try. Overall I would definitely come back to have a great meal with either family or a huge group of friends. It's simply an underrated restaurant for anyone to try plus the servings a perfect for sharing for huge gatherings.

Great service! Attentive servers! All their dishes here are priced at php 699. You might think its pricey but all their dishes are good for sharing(2-3 persons). We tried their best sellers: pork steak salad and bacon carbonara. Both are equally delectable. But for those who are not much of a meat eater, you should order their chicken steak salad(they have a spicy and original chicken steak, and fried chicken tenders). Next time i'll probably order their seafood olive spaghetti paired with their spicy chicken steak! And they also offer their fruit flavored soju for free if you order two dishes. I liked their passion fruit ade, not too strong nor too sweet!
Amazing food! Great service...
I heard this is really famous resto in Korea. I got surprised three times there. The first, by the amount of each dish. We were so sure that we couldn't finish them. the second, the taste was amazing!!!! Best pasta ever... and the third, we ate them all... Lol
One dish is good for 2 people so make sure you have someone to share your food with. Overall experience was okay but they had this super good unhealthy salad. Limited options for food though.
I love this place the Cook by Hongleepark in BGC. The place is very elegant in looks yet very homey. The food is very delicious! I just wish that I can bring all of my families next time.
