In previous visits, we tried the Callos Buns. Quite a novelty dish looking semi-Chinese on the outside but very Iberian on the inside 😊 We skipped it this time to make room for another favorite: Aglio Olio Con Chorizo. I swear it’s a better, hearty version of the Italian pasta.

I just love their Garlic and Cilantro Clams and Mussels. I had to stop myself from ordering a cup of rice at this point. No paellas; not exactly my favourites here. But I would have loved to spoon some of those clams and mussels with all that chimichurri drippings into a cup of steaming white rice!

And don’t forget those starters: mushroom soup, Calamares salad, Scotch Eggs and Gambas. A bottle of Rioja or Shiraz is all you need to complete this delightful meal.

Always loved the food here. Lechon carbonara and Tapa Buns FTW.

Tried their garlic adobo flakes recently and enjoyed it. Sama the rice was garlic rice also.

Came in to celebrate the last work day of 2018. Enjoyed the porchetta. I recommend the carnitas, croquettas and spicy squid.

Update 03/20/19:

Love the Lenten specials here. The paella balls are fried breaded paella that’s a new favorite of mine. The bangus sisig is pretty good, very creamy.

The place is a but tricky to find. But the food is great and the ambiance is cool. Service is good too. We loved the Calamares Salad. The vinaigrette compliments the veggies really well. The Chouxros are also good. Crunch on the outside, soft inside. I love the fact that you can dip it in either chocolate sauce or whipped cream. The skewers are so-so. The meats are dry as sponge and I'm surprised that it doesn't come with a sauce. Feels vague not to drench the meat into anything. The pumpkin is also good. The portion is very cute.

After trying out Mamma Mia in Uptown Mall, we went to Cafe Enye in Citi Plaza to try out their dishes. It's a bit difficult to find since it's located inside the Citi office. You can ask the guard where Cafe Enye is--it's worth going to. Cafe Enye is Colonial Spanish-themed. Hence the Enye to represent it. The theme has been well-thought-of because the owners really did much research on the Spanish Era--from the interiors and down to the dishes on the menu. I like the ambiance of the place--very cozy and has good lighting.

The letter Ñ, pronounced as "enye" is a quite unique character. It is considered a letter in its own right and has its own place in the alphabet. This letter has its roots in many other ancient languages and has its influence in many other vernaculars in the world, Ñ has been chosen to represent the identity of the Spanish language, especially as a result of the battle against its obliteration from computer keyboards by an English-led society.

I still remember when I tried the Brunch Menu of Cafe Enye at Eastwood, and I felt that I wouldn't be surprised to see more branches of this delicious discovery in the near future. A year later,  Cafe Enye finally decided it was time to expand, with its second branch opening at Bonifacio Global City!

lunch was amazingly good. i did not expect for it to be, but it was and what’s even better is that they have these express lunch bowls that are readily yet freshly made and it catered well to our palates. i got the seafood sofrito rice bowl and my amiga had the chicken chimichurri rice bowl. both were served with fried egg and that scrumptious java rice. the seafood was sweet and tender and fried (w/c i love) and the chicken was roasted and not gamey at all. the drinks were refreshing and again surprisingly delish. the ginger pineapple lemonade was pronounced and the cucumber calamansi gave out a sweet tangy jolt. the chouxros i liked because it had a bready flare to it but chocolate sauce fell flat to impress, it was a bit watery and cant help compare with the other churros store. overall, it was good and id love to try their other offerings.

It’s always an interesting experience finding restaurants that offer something that will take you on a culinary journey. Colonial Spanish cuisine may be familiar, but it can take one’s taste bud on an adventure when it has an influence from other parts of the world. In one of our EATSperiences, we experienced Colonial Spanish dishes on a different level. Executed with influences from Latin America, Africa and Asia, this hidden gem restaurant gave a refreshing take on the Colonial Spanish dishes that may be familiar to most Filipinos. Did we say hidden gem? Join us as we share with you our latest BGC EATS with Cafe Enye at Citi Plaza. Enjoy!

Cafe Enye is now officially open at BGC. It is situated at the 2nd level of Citi Plaza. For those who wants some Colonial Spanish Cuisine, you should try the following dishes:

🥘 Pollo Croquettas for Php175.00 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
Warning, this dish is addicting! Crispy marinated chicken bechamel and potato croquettas served with salsa verde and homemade pickles. Don’t forget to smother your croquettas with sauce at the bottom.

🥘Enye Callos Buns for Php135.00 (3pcs) - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5
Soft and savory, freshly made soft buns filled with our slow-cooked callos.

🥘Lechon Carbonara for Php250.00 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
It is the beat carbonara I’ve ever tasted. A classic pasta carbonara topped with Enye’s homemade mojo chicharrones.

🥘Cochinillo a la Casa for Php1,400.00 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
Slow-cooked and roasted prime cut if suckling pig, served with pan-seared peaches over roasted crop vegetables, served with red wine and honey glazed, chimuchurri and liver sauce.

🥘Moroccan-Style Curry Paella for Php385.00 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
Moroccan-inspired paella, cooked with chicken, curry turmeric and cinnamon.

🥘Callos a la Casa for Php440.00 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
This dish will turn you into a callos fan. Six hour slow cooked classic goodness of stewed stripe, chorizo, olives and potatoes, topped with Enye’s homemade mojo chicharrones.

For first timer, you should try the lechon carbonara. Grabe this one taste really good. Ang sarap! The callos will always be my favorite, complement with the Moroccan Style Curry paella. If you have some money to spend try the Cochinillo a la Casa, the meat was so tender and the pork skin was crispy and tasty.

For the dessert we were served Enye’s different cake... Red Velvet, Mango Cheesecake, Banana Walnut and Carrot Cake. All paired with latte.

Overall, we the #TeanKaladkarin enjoyed Enye’s sneak peak before their grand launch. We ate so much and had fun shooting. Sobrang busog!

Thank you Christina for organizing. And for our guest foodie Gene ‘til our next eat up.

Thank you Enye for having us.

Café Enye just opened their 2nd branch in Citi Plaza, bringing their boastful colors, unique flavors and creative ingredients for customers to experience. Known for Spanish cuisine, they make sure to keep their prices affordable. With their 2nd branch, it goes to show that they are successful with their main purpose – to reintroduce Spanish cuisine to the younger generation.

Ambiance wise, Café Enye is a perfect place to have those meetings or you just want to work there peacefully. There’s ample space to put your things. You will be surrounded by well lit lights & colorful decors to make the place vibrant. You can’t miss their signature red door which can also be found in their Eastwood branch.

Dishes of Café Enye are presentable and drool worthy. An instance, their Moroccan-Style Curry Paella (385php). It’s Moroccan-inspired paella, cooked with chicken, curry turmeric and cinnamon. If you get to ask the other people I was with, they can assure you that this is one of my favorites. I would constantly get and put a lot on my plate.

Another favorite of mine is the Cochinillo a la Casa (1,400php). It consists of slow-cooked and roasted prime cut of suckling pig, served with pan-seared peaches over roasted vegetables, served with red wine and honey glaze, chimuchurri and homemade liver sauce. I love the fact that even though I did not put any sauce, it still tasted great.

Since Café Enye is located at the 2nd floor of Citi Plaza, people working within the area can just go here to satisfy their alcohol intake. From 3pm-7pm, this is where their Happy Hour happens. During Happy Hour, their local beers will cost you 55php and their cocktails at 100php.

Don’t be fooled by Café Enye. They may look sophisticated because of its interior design but their dishes are very affordable wherein young people like me can have the means to get my paella fix.

P.S. Thank you Christina for the invite! It was nice to have an eatup with Team Kaladkarin! :)
