I love their cheesecake, the texture is soft and when its melted inside. The place is good and they looks like concerned about the cleanliness.

Lately, cheese tarts are becoming a craze. I’m not sure if I’m just not that big of a fan. It was good, I just when for the plain one. I think one piece was enough for me. Their interiors were very nice. It has this gothic feel to it. If you’re craving for this and don’t want to walk to far along high street then this is for you. 🙂
Cheese is life. Cheese is love. Cheese makes everything better. Cheese tart and coffee is a perfect pair.

Ther ice cream is so good. Eruption cup comes with 3 toppings. My choice of toppings are 2 lava cheese tart and 1 almond flakes.
Coffee is also good.
I wish their ice cream cups and coffee cups have the LAVA logo in it.
There is a saying in Tagalog “Amoy palang ulam na” Lava Cheese Tarts offers an alternative version with the revised saying “Amoy palang meryenda na”, that’s how good their tarts smell even from a distance. I must admit the wafting aroma of their tarts is what brought me to Lava.
Although, it’s not all Smokes and mirrors for them because they do serve scrumptous cheese tarts. Even when cold their cheese tarts are still flaky with the cheese filling still retaining the gooey salty rich consistency that bursts and flows from the tart once you snap it in two (whether with your hands or mouth).
Okay first of all anything that has cheese on it super cmfort food talaga yan. And this cheese start is one of them, medyo pricey pero the taste was so worth it, walang regrets pagkagat mo ng tart super soft ng center and the crust just the right amount of flakiness 👌🏻Tapos you dont wanna leave the place kasi super fragrant ng mga baked tarts 😍
Let me preface this review as; "the best cheese tart in town!" 😊 Because it truly is! Since it regained popularity a couple years back, and after a couple of establishments popping their own versions every now and then, it's quite easy to get lost in all the cheese tart ubiquity. Lava's version however, stood out for me in so many distinct levels, whereas competitors all around effortlessly fail at. First, taste; Lava's flavor legitimately gives off cheese, no doubt, and not even the usual ones, it tastes special. Perfect if they use true, authentic gorgonzola as what their flagship flavor says. Second, consistency. It's creamy, rich, and almost running, soft liquid, complimentary to its savory flavor. It's not overly gelatinous or jellied too, as what most competitors make, which honestly, gave me a very bad impression of what "cheese tarts" are. This is a complete redemption for my cheese tart ideals.

I love their Gorgonzola and Honey.
The tart is in it's best if you consume it immediately after purchasing.

Small space and not comfy but okay for cleanliness.

😋 blueberry cheesetart
✒ the blueberry is just a topping. The cheesetart is very good as it is.. topping it with the blueberry gives it a tinge of sweetness to it.
😍 gorgonzola and honey
✒ this is surprisingly good. You can really taste the bluecheese. And i loved it. I love the bold flavor yet it isnt overpowering. We had it when it was fresh from the oven so it was really gooey
.
🌟 this is my fave cheesetart place just because they offer different variants. I want to try their mushroom n 4 cheese next.
Stopped by after lunch in the Sky Park in SM Aura. They had tarts with different flavours but we tried the normal one. We also got some of the soft serve ice cream to try. Both were nice and tasty. Nice dessert with good flavour.
Delicious!! Hope they have more seats. Tartis best when its hot so its better to eat right away. Its fluffy and tasty on the inside. Nabusog agad ako. Hindi puro hangin yung dough.
Best cheese tarts and ice cream. The best flavour for me is original. I love the idea of adding more toppings like more cheese and nuts to the ice cream. Most of all, ingredients are locally sourced.
I love cheeeeese and I'd love these cheese tarts.
We had all flavors but the original tasted better.
A little bit pricey and wish serving size or portion could be bigger and improve more. I would still buy if not though. 😅
Home grown Lava Cheese Tarts are very good. Good to know if ingredients are locally sourced. They use Malagos cheese.
We got a box of 6 including original (the best), chocolate, Gorgonzola & Honey and Mushroom. Original is the best. Liked the Gorgonzola & Honey as well as the savory mushroom variant.
Tarts are perfectly baked - golden brown crust and gooey center. At about 400 php for 6, price is reasonable
Pablo, mover over!
Lava Cheese Tarts are the real deal. We ordered 3 flavors - gorgonzola and honey, mushroom and cheese, and original. In all 3 tarts, you can really taste the cheese nd not the cream, sugar, or milk. The cheese is the star. That yummy cheese center rests on a crispy crust.
My personal fave is the gorgonzola and honey. There's a strong and sharp cheeseness taste and the honey drizzle sort of balances the cheesy taste.
If you are craving for cheese tarts, head straight to Lava Cheese Tarts. Don't get distracted, ok?
My friend recommended that if I passby a Lava store that serves ice cream, I must try it. And boy, she was right! The consistency was thick and taste was very cheesy. Plus it’s only Php 85 for cone then Php 135 in a cup with 3 toppings. It’s better and affordable compared to Cow Cow Ice’s ice cream.
Then I tried their new flavor: Mushroom and Four Cheese (Php 90). It was good but I found it a bit expensive so I will stick with their original flavor.
This store is bigger and had tables and chairs. Check this out when you are in the area.
Lava Cheese Tarts - sweet crumbly crust with soft gooey filling. Perfectly eaten while hot.
PS. The ingredients of these cheese tarts are locally sourced.

I first tried their cheese tarts when they opened. They were good, the flavors are bold and I really liked their crust compared to other cheese tarts I've tried. However, I think it's a little bit pricey for PHP 80-85 per piece.
Fast forward to this day, I was looking forward to trying an ice cream brand in BGC but since it was raining we decided to have our dinner in SM Aura instead. I tried their ice cream, and for PHP 85 it was so sulit. It's salty, it's sweet, it's so heavenly! The main goal was just to satisfy my ice cream cravings but Lava went beyond my expectations! It's that good! I'll try one with toppings next time!
First time to try LAVA Cheese Tarts.
It's quiet small in size but it is delicious. I got the original and the gorgonzola and honey. I like the original better because the latter is very salty for my liking.
Owned by Food Asia Philippines, the group behind Bibinkinitan, Waffwich, and soon Papas, LAVA Cheese Tart is one of the establishments in SM Aura that is participating in the Art of Coffee tour. In the effort of expanding your knowledge of the craft, and get to know different flavors, roasting methods, and the art of coffee, LAVA held a coffee and cheese tart pairing session. [Read More]
I've tried this before at their SM Megamall branch and I didn't like it that much but I gave it another try. We got it fresh from the oven and it really tastes better while still hot. The cheese was gooey and oozing. Nice presentation too for dine in customers 'coz the cheese tarts were served on a wooden chopping board. I like it now but I still find it too pricey for 80php per piece.
One of the best cheese tarts there is in Metro Manila. The flavors are bold and exciting, and the cheese is gooey and creamy. This definitely did not disappoint. On the contrary it will leave you craving for more!
The Original Cheese Tart is expensive but of excellent quality! Cheese literally melts or leaks right out if you don't hold it at a proper angle. This would be a lovely gift for family and friends as "pasalubong!" I still think the price hurts but it's so amazing and the first of its kind.
If you love Kumori and Pablo, try giving Lava some love!
Normal cheese flavor. Tart could use a more flaky crust and chewy cheese texture/ consistency. Wish lava tops variety is available at sm aura branch to add more variety in flavor.
Best cheese tart available in the Metro. Love their original and the Gorgonzola/honey. Don't like their prosciutto/melon. I like them warm, with the filling oozing. Tried them at room temp and didn't like it.
Cheese tarts have invaded the food scene recently but I've never had the chance to eat one until I've stumbled upon this Lava branch. I love cheese so I was really excited to try this! We ordered a box of original ones and I was surprised by the tarts' consistency. The cheese was really oozing and it had that perfect sweetness and saltiness to it. Yum! The crust had that buttery finish which was a perfect complement to the filling!
It was my first time to try a Lava Cheese tart so I got both the Original and the Gorgonzola + Honey. Between the two, the Gorgonzola tasted better.
Their Lava Cheese tart tastes like heaven. Enough sweetness, super creamy. I love that so try it again. Kinda costly but the taste justifies the cost.
So far, the best cheese tart I've tasted locally. The crust is not too hard and the middle part is cooked just so it melts but not explode into a thousand pieces when you bite into it. Will try the classic and salty variety next time. 😍

Cheese tarts are loved by all kinds of people. I mean, who wouldn't want to indulge into a hot gooey cheese tart in the middle of the day? No one can ever resist the sweet and salty cheese filling, and the rich buttery crust of a cheese tart especially when still fresh from the oven. Although there are other popular stores like "Pablo" and "Kumori" that sell cheese tarts, I believe that they all have their own uniqueness which makes each store stand out among the rest.
Lava's branch at SM Aura is quite small. Seating is available but I wouldn't recommend the place if you're coming in big groups. The place was dark, but at the same time classy. I actually like the mix of black walls and red glowing lights that really fitted well with the "lava" theme. It really felt like you're dining inside a volcano! Alright, enough of the ambience. Now, for their cheese tarts.
As of now, Lava offers 3 flavors of their cheese tarts. Either, "Classic", "Gorgonzola & Honey", and their limited edition, "Prosciutto and Melon Geléé Cheese". Lava also suggests 4 ways to enjoy your cheese tart. Either, molten, frozen, chilled or hot. Due to the irresistible aroma coming from Lava's cheese tarts, my family and I decided to try Lava's cheese tart for the first time.
We ordered 1 of their classic cheese tarts first just in case we weren't much of a big fan of it. The lady who worked here gave us our cheese tart but didn't ask how we wanted our cheese tart to be. Anyways, we just took it since it was our first time anyway. First look, I could already predict that the filling was going to be runny since it was the whitest tart among the others.
Verdict:
➿Classic Cheese Tart➿ (80 php)
- Let's start with the biscuit base. The biscuit base isn't like those firm bases that we all know. It was buttery and crumbly, which makes the base fragile. For the cheese filling, we didn't get to choose the way we wanted our cheese tart baked since the lady just gave our tart right away without even asking. Anyways, we had ours on the molten side so the filling was runny. I like how the texture was smooth and thick, mimicking a lava flow. It tastes somehow like custard but with an enjoyable salty and sweet fusion.
Overall, I would say that it was good average tart. I would try it again but this time, with the firmer cheese filling just because the molten cheese filling left me with a hard to describe feeling at the back of my throat. I hope to come back real soon to try other variations of their cheese tarts.
This cheese tart is literally a "CHEESE" tart. First bite and you'll know you are eating cheese, nothing more nothing less.
For someone who loves cheese, whether you like it melted, hot, cold, frozen you'll appreciate it.
They would advise to consume 3 days after buying it. But you can actually put it in the fridge longer than that since it's cheese and you'll still love it.
I would recommend eating it immediately (melted & sweeter) or after a few hours in the fridge (cold & perfect).
Note: last December they have a special ribbon for gift orders.
I am a big fan of cheese. This cheese tart is just so good, I swore I'd take my girl friend (who is from Cavite) to SM Aura just for this! It's just so crunchy on the crust and just the right saltiness in the core for the perfect dessert experience.
Now, if only it were cheaper than the P80 per piece it sits on right now...
Since I am a penchant de fromage (cheese addict) I got to try the LAVA cheese tart. I ordered the gorgonzola with honey tart. It was definitely a piece of heaven and I can hear the alleluia chorus when I bite into this cheese tart. It is a shame that I didnt't buy a box though. I will definitely return and buy the whole box next time!
I'm giving these cheese tarts a 4.5 because when I first tasted it I felt like I was in "cheese" heaven lol I don't know if its because I love cheese so much or its because I've never tried any other stores who sell cheese tarts and I have nothing to compare it with. But absolutely Lava Cheese Tarts are really good. I even brought a box at home and everyone loved it. It's expensive though, but for the love of cheese I'd still buy it.
If I'd visit Manila again, I will definitely get a box of these cheese tarts.... a box of 6 will do. So love it.
This is not my first time here at Lava Cheese Tart. I went back here again because of the good experience I had and I am craving for Cheese Tart.
On my second visit, I've tried the Gorgonzola & Honey Cheese Tart for Php85.00 per piece. Awesome! That's the first word pop up in my mind on my first bite. The gorgonzola was too flavorful and it's very good with honey to balance the saltiness of the cheese. Drooling grabe! 🤤🤤🤤
🧀 Gorgonzola & Honey Cheese Tart - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
For me, the best way to eat the LAVA cheese tart - "fresh from the oven or while it is hot."
#ilovetoeatph 😃❤
I thought cheese tarts are a hit these days and I kind of expected that stores would have lines and all. This store though, in my surprise, was almost empty but still I'd given it a chance.
There's no doubt that their cheese tart's good. Problem is, it wasn't great. As a cheese lover, I expected it to be gooey and literally cheesy. The texture's okay and the softness of it is good; the taste is where it lost its points.
Nevertheless I'd still give it a 3.5 (even if I think it should only have a 2.5/3) because of how soft it is when you take the first bite. Simple joy, I guess.
Crust is fine and buttery and mousse is smooth and creamy. Next time I'll eat it at store since mine got a little melted when I got home. Nonetheless still super yummy.

My-Food-O-Meter:
taste: 4/5
price: 3/5
service: 4/5
Their cheese tart is way more flavorful compared to pablo's & kumori's. However, I am not a fan of the crust. It is too hard. It is like lengua de gato. Their cheese tart is definitely way better than Pablo's, but I prefer Kumori's which is 20 pesos cheaper.
Finally got to visit Lava's lair in SM Aura! I ordered a box of 3 cheesetarts for P240 to take home. I didn't reheat it and I liked it just the way it was. The cheese inside the tarts wasn't flowy but it was good! It was baked right that the tart wasn't too soft that it breaks, and it wasn't too hard that it loses moisture and fluffiness. The taste of the cheese was definitely evident in the batch that I got. Delicious!
I love all things cheese, so naturally I gravitated to Lava Cheese Tarts. They opened shop in SM Aura, selling cheese tarts and coffee.
Their cheese tarts ooze cheese as you bite. Yum!! Best to eat while it's hot. For takeaway, consume immediately. Staff advised us to microwave it 20-30 seconds tops. Still, dairy can wreak havoc in your tummy if taken in wrong temperature. Best if eaten fresh.
Bought a box of 6 of their original cheese tarts the other day. I liked it a lot, but as I ate it with the LeTao cheesecake that a relative gave us, I ended up getting umay'd by the cheese lol.
Today, I finally got a more accurate taste of it as I just ate the tart by itself. It was stored inside the fridge and I didn't reheat it - I found that I actually liked eating it this way better than the first time I tried it (It wasn't fresh then too as I ate it when we got home, hours after buyung it). I like the crust, it has a nice texture to it.
Anyway, I didn't actually have any plans to try Lava, but when I saw that there were no lines there, I ended up going for it. Next time, I'd like to try their new honey flavored tarts. 😋
there wasnt much queue when i went there last week, the crew was also efficient. i love the taste of the cheese tart - it is similar to BAKE which is really really good. the tart crust had the right crunch and a little flaky (and messy to eat). i just wish the tart is bigger and had more filling.
The cheesetart invasion is real! And no one can stop it! 😍
Cheesetarts and cheesecake brands have been popping like popcorn left and right all over the country. But of all the cheesetarts I've tried out there, I must say that LAVA Cheese Tarts definitely takes the cake! This is the yummiest and cheesiest of them all! ❤️ I just about died and went to cheesetart heaven the moment I took my first bite!
And for 80Php/piece or 240Php for a box of three, it doesn't break the bank either! What I love about them is they use locally sourced ingredients and it is FRESH, fresh people! 😍
I'd recommend eating it freshly baked, you'd love the gooeyness and tartiness of the cheese! 🧀
We ordered the cheese tarts (tray of 3pcs is P240) and Iced Americano (P130?), Iced Tea, and Iced Mocha (P130?).
Cheese tarts are so soft and moist and as my sister described it, "magical"🤣
The coffee though- buy in Toby's Estate or Starbucks instead. Because for the same price, it wasn't worth it. Their coffee selections taste watered down.
Also, service wise, they forgot some of our orders and we had to remind them pa😭
Buy the cheese tarts to go! And enjoy it at home (or while walking.. or while in the car.. lol). Yes, it was "magical"😂 I have yet to try Pablo's though. Let's find out!
With all that cheese tart craze that storming some parts of Asia,I have to try this brand which correct me if I'm wrong a local brand. With that price of 80 pesos each that's fair enough, the consistency, taste and texture of the tart is good but I could say they can improve it more so that they can go with the Asian competition. They also have local coffee and coffee bean products.Plus when you buy their products you are supporting our local farmers which for me is a very good and noble cause.
Even if it opened last November 3, a month back, you can still expect a queue especially on peak hours. This local creation combines cheese tart and the effect of lava on a cake.
The golden brown layer on the outside has its optimum hardened cover and inside is a gooey filling made up of four different artisanal local cheese. It's a nice surprise on your first bite, the taste stays in your mouth for awhile.
The cheese does have an aged effect and the multiple combinations is felt. For Php 80, it does satisfy for its quality and detail.
The store also offers coffee from four regions of the Philippines. They are the exotic, unusual concoctions.
FOODGASM! Lava cheese tarts are awesome! The price is justified by the taste. Perfectly thin tart crust compliments the molten cheese. Molten cheese is not over whelming, its just the right amount of cheesiness. The place is kind of small, definitely not the “tambayan” place as they also serve coffee and iced tea. It’s an order and go shop but who cares when the cheese tart is this good. Their best sales material is the smell of the cheese tart.

Okaaay. So Hawie and I went here last night after work. We were both so hungry and drooling for their cheese tarts.
We waited for about 10mins because they really serve their cheese tarts fresh from the oven. They do it batch by batch that's why it really takes time.
We got the box of 6 (450php)... Compared to ordering just one piece each (80php).. You'll save your 30php! Better get the box of 6 and share it to your loved ones! :)
We sat down and opened their super nice red box. Well, i love the smell. So tempting! I took a bite agad then whoaaaa! The crust has the perfect crisp. Be careful 'cause you might burn your tongue once you take a bite in the middle part. Hehe. Their cheese isn't ooey gooey... It is flowy... Like a creamy soup that came out from a crispy bread. It is sweet, and creamy. I like the taste, tho. But honestly it is expensive for 80php... One tart isn't filling also.. Bitin na bitin yung 1pc.. They should've made each tart a bit bigger or more siksik.. But anyway, atleast we tried :)
I might go back there if they have new flavors that we can try. You guys better try it too! :)
Harron Sapiter
Their filling is way better than Pablos. Even if it's foamy, I can still taste the saltiness of the cheese. The crust is not the usual flaky but this one tastes like Lengua de gato (usually bought as pasalubong from Baguio which is good btw).
I'm in LAVA. To re-quote John Lloyd Cruz's endorsed product a few years back, I'm using this one to aptly describe the latest entry into the Japanese cheesecake / cheese tart game, this time from what I believe, according to booky, is a local product. The timing couldn't be more perfect because Pablo opened a few months back, and Bake hasn't yet opened in S'Maison. Plus Le Tao and Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory, two more Japanese imports, surely aren't far behind (according to the grapevine).
I'd heard not so good things from a friend or two who tried in the first few days of this place, which probably implied heightened expectations or the need for Lava to improve its quality. Good thing there were also friends who tried it at a later date and said that it's quite good. Inevitable, and unavoidable that this will invariably be compared to the gold standard of cheese tarts--- BAKE, from Japan. I've had the pleasure of trying and falling I love with Bake, during my July trip to Tokyo. Bake will always be the elephant in the room to which Lava will always be likened.
But... Despite the inevitable comparison, my wife and I were plenty satisfied with this take. 😊
Lava says they use 4 artisanal local cheeses. Wow. I would venture to guess, Quezo de bola, Kesong Puti and a cheese or two that's sweeter and farm sourced. Coolness.
The prices for Lava Cheese Tarts are as follows:
P80 per piece,
P240 for a box of 3,
or the discounted P450 for a box of 6,
They're likely more competitively priced than the international brands. The Lava packaging is professionally done, with a sticker guide to reheating... I'm loving the attention to detail. I didnt eat mine super warm or hot as they recommend, which is perfectly fine since I've heard that the consistency@ becomes closest to Bake's after it's cooled down. So eat it at your own pace and preference.
I'd describe Lava cheese tarts as having a slightly sweet crumbly crust, a mix of sweetness, creaminess and saltiness to its cheesy filling. I'm rating this a 4.5, with my expectations being nicely met, rounded up generously to a 5.
While Lava cannot compare 100% with Bake's cheese tart, it can certainly hold its own, plus people can enjoy a local brand with good quality or premium local ingredients at a cheaper price! That, along with its timely launch ahead of Bake and other international cheesecake brands, may prove to be a recipe for sustained success.
(Just check Serenitea and Yabu).
..nothin' but a whole lotta LAV(A) for this cheese treat of a tart. the crust is crumbly - resembling that of a thick language de gato or of a russian tea cookie. the center is gooey (when freshly baked) but when cooled it's like of a soufflé. you'll get a sweet savory taste when your mouth interrupts their harmony and all in all, it's a treat that's best paired w/ your favorite coffee or tea.
Was quite skeptical because of all the reviews I've read but I'm impressed! Tastes very good and the woman who took my order was nice. I got the box of 3s but I sure do wish I got 6 instead! Will definitely be back again.
Fell in line for 45mins last night just to give this a try. Honestly, I'm not quite sure how I feel about it.
It's quite small considering the price (₱80 per piece). I've read some not-so-good reviews prior to my visit so I decided to get just a box of 3 to go (₱240) and a piece so I can try it right away.
The filling has a very gooey/smooth texture compared to other cheese tarts I've tried. Not too cheesy though so I'm quite disappointed. But I think I like Kumori better considering the price.
