It was indeed an amazing dining experience! So love the food and place!! Probably the best Paella in Tagaytay! Special mention to the very nice and accommodating staff! Will surely recommend El Cocinero to my friends!

Aside from the superb paella, arroz de matanza also delicioso! A pitcher of sangria finished it all. Plus a spanish speaking server Kris made a difference!

A must-visit restaurant offering delectable Spanish cuisine is nestled inside La Bella Tagaytay for foodies to enjoy. El Cocinero is accessible by everyone even without a booked stay in La Bella, making it a perfect spot for lunch or dinner whenever you find yourself having a time-off in Tagaytay. About El Cocinero

Food took awhile to be cooked but at least you know it is made fresh. Salpicao is really tasty and the quatro queso pasta was just as good. Didn’t like the fact that there were a lot of ants on the floor.

You have no idea how our hearts filled with happiness when we went here. This is where we celebrated my brother's bday and it was rainy and foggy weather. But im a pluviophile so the day and place, food and people i was with became extra special. We get there and were no customers that time coz it really past the lunchtime. Sinadya ko un 🤭 so we feel like we had the place for ourselves. The crew were so nice and attended to us everytime. We dine at the upper deck and the spot was so awesome. It was serene. The food of course, we love it. So much. My mom especially loves the pizza.. as in. The sabaw ng nilagang baka was thick and perfect coz we wer so hungry that time. Im not much of an expert on how the paella really taste like but we finished the entire pan 😅. Lastly, the cucumber pitcher.. sakto ang timpla..thank you btw for the slice of special egg pie i think thats what it is a small bday gift for my bro. God bless to everyone, and we hope we can come back during summer too

Since Tagaytay is our favorite go-to destination, we decided to spent our anniversary celebration here. We stayed and explore Tagaytay for 3 days and of course, our main target were restaurants. Hihi. For our 1st night in Tagaytay, we had our dinner in a Spanish restaurant inside La Bella Residences.

The El Cocinero Pizza's the bomb! It may not look much but the taste is superb! The seafood pasta is good but I personally think that the portion is too small for 2 people but that's fine since we ordered the El Cocinero Paella, which was really great too! The lady that assisted us told us that we can look around La Bella residences while waiting for the paella to be cooked (it took about 25 minutes but it was fine because it's a great time to take photos because the place is inspired by the design of Santorini.)

I suggest that you book ahead so it wouldn't be much of a hassle waiting for the table to be prepared. We booked through the Booky app and when we got there, the table was already set for us. :)

We were a bit disappointed though because we didn't know that they had changed their menu and we already searched for the things we were going to order days before dining.

Thank you for the great service and the great food! Looking forward to dine here again! ❤️

Nestling on an altitude of 2000 ft, anyone can easily fall into the brisky atmosphere invigorated by fresh air coming from relaxing ambiance of El Cocinero. As prescribed by its name, I started to outrun my worries because somehow I was convinced.

PLACE
- The interior of the restaurant has touches of Spain here and there - textured white walls decorated with ornamental plates, dainty dinner dishes that look like porcelain. It was like a time capsule bringing back the bygone colonial era. What makes this visit totally phenomenon is their confort room. There was a tremendous acacia tree holding the ground right next to the bowl. Very alive and refreshing! Yes, because the restaurant is 100% compliant to local goverment law about forbidding tree cutting. For me it was enchanting!

MENU
- Their menu is a collection of authentic Spanish cuicines. Most meals are prepared from fresh, healthy organic ingredients found in abundance within the restaurant's vicinity. Most of their dishes sounded familliar as most have been part of Filipino Food culture. Well, in this resto, they keep it authentic and original as they allow you taste Spain right at the heart of Tagaytay.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Chorizo - this will definitely rival those we taste on other high-end eateries. Their Chorizo was made with high quality meat and spices that dramatically burst wild flavors in every succulent bite.
2. Seafood Paella - could you resist such bewitching plate carrying all the sea goodness invogorating rice, herbs and spices!
3. Wine: Ibiza Hierbas Mari Mayahs!!

It was almost lunch time when we were done exploring Puzzle Mansion, and since we came here mainly for the food trip, my mom and I were excited to look for a place to have lunch. 🐷 I checked the nearby places where we can get a light lunch (we were still full from breakfast and the coconut cream pie), and stumbled upon El Cocinero. We requested for the trike driver to bring us there, and we arrived in less than 10 minutes.

El Cocinero by Chef Arnaldo is tucked inside La Bella Residences, so we had to walk again under the heat before reaching the restaurant (tricycles cannot go inside the subdivision, so you'd have to have another 5-minute walk). 😅 It isn't in vain though, since we were awed by how it looked when we arrived. This Ibiza-style restaurant actually looks a bit like a museum, with Picasso art hung around its interiors. They take pride in serving authentic Spanish and Italian dishes, as Chef Arnaldo was able to work abroad for more than a decade, learning the best practices in serving them. We were welcomed warmly, and we chose to be seated at the second floor. Initially, we wanted to try their paellas, but the serving size was too big for us. We got these instead:

✅ EL COCINERO PIZZA (Php 410) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A thin crust cheese pizza, topped with fresh greens and cherry tomatoes, with a drizzle of aioli. It might be one of the best pizzas I've tasted, to date!!! 😍🍕 The cheeses blended well with each other, and I tasted a distinct bleu cheese flavor which amped up the taste of the pizza. The greens were super fresh and crisp, and the aioli sauce gave the pizza the needed added flavor. ✨ For spicy food lovers, you may want to drizzle some of their homemade hot sauce. So yummy! 😍 I hope they can serve it with arugula and alfalfa sprouts so we can eat it panizza style. 😉

✅ CHIPIRONES (FRIED BABY SQUID - Php 220) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This one's really good as well! I love how each squid was fried perfectly, and had a distinct fresh seafood sweetness. It is served with aioli mayo which enhanced its flavorfulness. It's super addictive! Serving size was quite big as well. 😍

Our food was served after about 30 minutes, which wasn't a problem for us since we weren't that hungry yet, and it was proof that the food was freshly prepared. 😉 While waiting, we were served with complimentary bread which came with four dips: Tuna Pate, Aioli Mayo, Tomato Dip, and balsamic Vinaigrette. My favorites are the Aoili Mayo and Tuna Pate! Yummy!

Service was superb, as our server was very attentive to our needs. He was also quite helpful in suggesting the food to be ordered, and was always available whenever we had requests. 😊

Overall, my mom and I had a great time here stuffing ourselves with their food. Prices are generally affordable for the quality of food you can get here. 👌 Spoiler alert: Among all our Tagaytay Trip eats, this was the best restaurant for me. 😉

P.S.: This spot is highly underrated. I hope people would discover this place soon! 😍

Cozy ambience. Awesome food. We're not able to try their Paella but we really loved the El Cocinero pizza as well as their Mejillones Gratinado. We'd also like to commend their staff especially Bryan, our server that day, for being corteous and accommodating. Staff are very polite even upon entering and leaving the place. Overall, 10/10 dining experience!😊

Great dining experience. A little out of the way if you’re commuting. But this hole-in-the-wall place has a laid-back ambience. And the paella negra is to-die-for.
