Food: Best bulalo by far! Large portion of beef shanks and bone marrows with the collagen and fat melted in the clear broth. Pair it with fish sauce and calamansi with lots of chili. Broth is unlimited too!

Place: We have tried both the "Kubo" and 2nd floor. It was foggy when we came to dine, so sure is cold up there. Staffs were nice as well.

Price: Affordable.

We stopped here to grab some lunch and maybe to enjoy the view; however, we were told that the highest floor was closed, so we had to stay on the first floor or in the kubos. They suggested that we stay in a kubo or hut, so we did. However, we weren't oriented that we had to ring the bell to call their attention. We figured it out ourselves. Even after ringing the bell, it took them a long period of time to assist us. Lastly, when the bill was given to us, we noticed that there were some discrepancies. When we asked the cashier in the building, we found out that the price of the buko juice was corrected and was changed to 75 pesos; however, we were sure that the menu given to us showed that each buko juice was worth 65 pesos only.

On the other hand, the food was good. We ordered the special bulalo and we first thought it was pricey, but when it was served, we couldn't even finish the whole bowl. The tapsilog was also good, reasonable price.

Out of all the bulalo joints, my friend brought us here because he said that the bulalo here is special and tasty. It's my first time to see a bulalo bowl so huge that can be shared by 3-4pax. Good thing it's unlimited broth! My verdict for their bulalo is just average, though it was nice to have on a cold breezed night at Tagaytay.

The best bulalo is here! The small kubos outside the main area is also a very nice place to eat with your family and friends. :) There is a very nice server named Trish, super masipag and maasikaso.

On a quick road trip, my friends and I went off to Tagaytay and had a quick dinner at Mer ben. We ordered their extra special bulalo and their crisoy tawilis with rice. While I found their broth salty the beef itself was so tender especially the parts of fat and litid. Their tawilis was crunchy no need to tske it apart but just bite it straight. Our order was good for two and cost around 700 pesos. Service was good and there are even acoustic singers.

I had a sudden foodtrip with my workmates and decided to go to Tagaytay to have some bulalo. Along the road, we saw this area with lively lights on seems good place to eat, so we decided. We tried different dishes. The kare-kare as well as the chopsuey tasted sweet but still delicious. The tawilis was evenly deep fried and tasty perfectly matches the bulalo. It was good for my first try. We had a big serving of crispy pata. It was as well good match with kare-kare. I was pleased with the bulalo as it was served with a lot of beef and I can say that the soup broth was so tasty. The cold breeze and ambiance made our meal even better.

Their Special Bulalo gets cold easily but has enough meat, so please provide charcoal to keep it warm. Their Bulalo goes well with their Pork Sisig and Garlic Rice.

5 stars if you’re looking for somewhere affordable, clean, and with good tasting food to eat!

Staff are also very attentive including the parking attendants who will find their way to assure you get to park safely.

I strongly recommend their Sizzling Sisig ₽270 or 285? good for 2! Their silog menu: tapsilog, longsilog, and chicksilog is reasonable and great if you’re on a tight budget. Price ranges from ₽80 - 90. I also had their banana shake and mango shake, I do personally prefer the banana shake more which costs ₽90.

I have yet to try their bulalo. (they do serve you bulalo soup for every meal you order) I can’t wait to go back!

Bathroom is clean!

I prefer eating at the 2nd top floor or at any of the kubos.

They have best Bulalo and Fried Tawilis!
The Bulalo with Unli Soup costs 520 that is already good for 5 person and the Fried Tawilis costs 120.
The restaurant is also nice. They have nipa huts and you can eat there without a charge. Staffs are also very accomodating and we enjoyed our lunch their while listening to some good musics played by an acoustic trio (I forgot the name of their group).

Ordered

Sisig
Bulalo
Tawilis

I love their sisig its meaty and the savory of what sisig should be is really evident with every bite.

Bulalo is also good tasting. Meat is tender. Only downside is that they offered us with no bone marrow.

Overall the place is great as well as their service and food. You can also choose places..we choose to eat in a kubo :)

I just dont like the price. It think its pricey.

We had lunch there a month ago and we chose to stay at the cottages outside. It was chilly but not too much. We ordered Bulalo, Kare kare, and Tapsilog. My favorite is the Bulalo. It was very delicious that the oil from the soup didn't even start to freeze given that it is cold outside. We asked the staff to refill our soup which is for free. We even had some food left for take out.

WE ORDERED: Medium Extra Special Bulalo, Inihaw na Liempo, Garlic Rice

(+) The staff were friendly!
(+) The medium-sized bulalo was enough for me and my two friends. You could have the soup refilled, and they refill the whole bowl! Each of us had two cups of garlic rice because of this. :P
(+) The bulalo beef was tender, and the flavor was just all right.
(-) My only problem with the bulalo is that it wasn't hot enough. Even the soup refill wasn't hot  enough as well. We wanted scalding hot bulalo to match the super cold and rainy weather!
(-) The rooftop seats offer a view of the Taal Lake. It was okay; the view of the lake was obscured by the buildings around the area though
(-) The liempo was so-so and too small for P160

Overall, good experience. :)

This our alternate resto from Diner's which is just across it. both are situated near the "Y" street that the other heads towards Mahogany and the other leads the National Highway.

We often order their sinigang na Bangus..gig serving for 2 pax...👌

Tawilis is also great and their fried fish💐💐💐

And a must try is their Fried Kangkong..OMG

You can also opt to stay in their nipa huts but I haven't tried...Queer that when I'm here at this resto I feel satisfied inside the main dining area😊

Sorry will take photos next time..But try this place!

Me and my family had lunch earlier here and we really enjoyed our lunch. I can say our "bulalo" experience here in Tagaytay is superb.

So here are my ratings

Food: 4.9/5
We had Ensaladang Mangga, Chopsuey, Crispy Pata, Bulalo, Crispy Kangkong, Sagot gulaman and Fresh Buko (100% fresh they will give you the whole fruit)

Bulalo was superb! Its so meaty, theyre not stingy and the marrow and meat just falls from the bone, thats really superb! Just the crispy kangkong was too crispy that it hurts my gums but its tasty ☺️

Service: from the parking to the dining the staff was accomodating! We are served by the staff named Dez. Shes really wonderful so accomodating she checks every table and her smile hasnt gone.

Ambience: they have those mini huts for families and BIG families they have a second floor as well which has a great view of Taal Lake but sadly its under renovation but its really beautiful.

I recommend everyone to eat here at Mer Ben!

A wonderful long weekend was announced in our office. My brothers (officemates) we decided to go in Tagaytay's famous bulalo joint. There was no traffic, pure road trip with music. The weather is rainy so its a perfect weekend getaway for us.

We wanted to eat in Tagaytay wherein we can sit outside and view the good looking Taal Volcano and trees. So we researched and "Mer-Ben Tapsilogan sa Tagaytay" they serve Extra Special Bulalo a must try.

We ordered a lot! Mamantika (oily) food and one gulay, Krispy KangKong. 😁

The food is classic Filipino, masarap talaga! After a good hour of driving, sulit talaga! The price? Yes, its affordable! We didn't even reach 2,00😁0 pesos.

What's good about this place? Parking space yes, outdoor and kubo seating yes, taal view yes, the food yes na yes. And of course the staff are friendly and fast.

Our highlight here was the UNLIMITED Bulalo's broth (sabaw) mainit na mainit, tamang tama sa panahon na tag-ulan. 😊

This place is wonderful for those people who wants a new bulalo joint to try, for friends and to relax too. We enjoyed the place. 😁

Tagaytay is known for their Bulalo and speaking of Bulalo, I've tried Mer-Ben Tapsilogan. I can't say that they have the best Bulalo in Tagaytay, but what I can assure you is that they serve decent Bulalo. I actually like it!

They have fast service and approachable staffs too. I also love the ambiance because they have tables at the roof deck, eating in front of a stunning view and cold air.

The place had a really ice ambience because it was really cold. The downside of the cool weather was the soup got cold after some time. We got crispy kangkong, liempo, and tawilis which were worth the price. Definitely a good break from only eating only at Leslie's.

Found this place while my boyfriend and I were looking for a cheap bulalo place. It is located in an area where a lot of bulalo and filipino cuisines are served. They have a nice roof deck. Overall food was great! Service was also good; staff were accommodating. There was also a group singing for customers. This was a plus point for the ambiance 💖

The view was good! Not the perfect view of taal but definitely better than no view at all 😜

The food was also affordable! For as low as 85 pesos, you already have tapsilog (one of their bestsellers! It's a must-try). Compared to other restaurants offering bulalo, Mer-Ben has the cheapest (410 pesos for medium, good for 2-4 persons; 480 for large, good for 5 or more pax).

Bulalo was not as tasty compared to some that I tried here in Tagaytay but it's definitely worth it! Lots of veggies & full of meat (not so much fat). Tapa was great too! You should not leave this place not trying these cuisines 💖

Went here for a small family reunion in Tagaytay. I didn't really notice this resto before so I was surprised that it was big. Anyway, enough of the jibber jabber, I'll go straight on to the food.

We had the Bulalo, which is their best-seller and for me, it wasn't as good and flavorful as I expected it to be..but you know it's okay. Meh.

Next is the Crispy Kangkong which was my favorite! I ate this like a popcorn! hahaha! I love snacking on this one! It was crispy and not oily!

We also had the liempo which was kinda tough to chew and Fried Lapu-Lapu for the oldies..

So, food here is okay. View, not much. Price is super okay for the service and serving size! definitely a great place for big groups on a small budget!

We had dinner here during our photography group's 9th anniversary overnight trip. The bulalo was excellent for the rainy weather. The fried tawilis was pretty good as well.

That night after some drinks and some family ktv (or early the next morning; who can even remember after drinking), we dropped by again this time for some breakfast meals. I tried the tocilog and it was good also!

They are open 24 hours which is a big plus for travelers and late night people vacationing in tagaytay.

We ordered tapsilog, fried tawilis and sago gulaman. Really loved the fried tawilis. The tapa was a little salty. Sago gulaman was not too sweet, which we really liked. They also gave us free bulalo soup. We sat at the roofdeck overlooking Taal. Service was fast even if they had a lot of cutomers.

My friend recommended this place not because of the tapsilog, but because of the bulalo. We decided to eat here during dinner when the weather would be colder because dining al fresco style during lunch would be torture since it was so hot and humid.

We got a long table at the second floor which had a nice view but we weren't able to enjoy it that much because it became dark not long after we were seated.

I would say that we made the right choice dining here at night because the weather was cool, perfect for a hot bowl of bulalo.

We decided to order food that is good for sharing:

Extra special bulalo - we came here for this dish and it's perfect for the cold weather at night. It was good enough for the 8 of us. My only comment though is that it was not boiling hot when served or maybe it got cold because of the cold breeze when it was being transported from the kitchen at the ground floor to our table at the second floor.

Chicken inasal - portion size was good for 1 person only, nothing special or different with the taste compared to the other inasals I have tasted.

Pork liempo - good for 2 persons. Nothing special as well with this one. It's just your typical inihaw na liempo.

Crispy fried tawilis - we all liked this one because it was so crispy. I guess it's also because it's not that often that we get to eat tawilis so we liked it that much.

Chopsuey platter - serving size is big. Had lots of veggies but nothing spectacular about the taste.

During dinner, there was a group going from table to table serenading the diners. It was a nice touch but of course you have to give them a tip after they sing.

Servers were okay though there were times that they were not that efficient with our requests. I guess it was because there were a lot of customers at that time.

Overall, it was a good dining experience. I may not be raving about the food but it was a good place to hang out with your friends or family.

Mer-Ben's pretty decently located: it's by the highway and has a view overlooking Taal Lake. It's pretty big, too; you can choose to sit inside the restaurant, outside in one of the huts or on the roof deck. If you want the full experience, eat at the roof deck, but make sure you bring a jacket on particularly freezing days.

It was my first time ever eating bulalo, so I was pretty excited. After tasting it, I found that it was pretty much like nilagang baka, but that's not a bad thing. The broth was very tasty and hot, which should warm you up while enjoying Tagaytay's nippy weather. The meat was incredibly tender so you're not spending half the meal chomping on a gum-like piece of meat. I understood why people like putting some calamansi into the soup: the sour and salty result is delicious.

We also ordered fried chicken, which was pretty good; as well as calamares, which tasted great but is a bit overpriced to me.

Looking forward to coming back, since Mer-Ben's specialty is tapsilog and we didn't get to try it.

At start we thought that the Bulalo is delish, however to our suprise it was no different from what we have tried from other restaus'.. Not to offend but that's our taste bud's tell..

Tawilis and Fried Kangkong however is a differenr story.. It's delish and I can say - standout amongst we have tasted..

Me and my colleagues decided to go to Tagaytay city for a test drive and planned to have dinner there. Were looking for a great place to eat bulalo until we headed to Mahogany market and finally decided to eat at Mer-ben. The place was cozy there are few nipa hut outside where you can eat and at the 2nd floor of the restaurant you can go overlooking but we didn't aprreciate the view because we arrived there at 8pm. There are also a lot of vendors selling tawilis and assorted tarts.

Since we're all hungry we ordered three dishes the special bulalo, crispy bulalo and chopseuy platter which cost us 1500 for 6 persons and make our tummy full. The food was so delicious so we finished eating for less than 30mins, my friends ordered extra rice because the food is irresistibly tasty. The staffs are also accomodating, the meal serves fast and the service is okay we'll definitely go back here next time.

My favorite meal in this "carinderia" is the tapsilog (Php 80), I feel that the meat they use for it has that creamy taste. Their bulalo is 'legit' and you know that they have been cooking it the whole day. The meat just falls out in the bone, and when you eat it, it just melts in your mouth (well, not literally). Sisig is also good, no mayonnaise, crunchy, spicy. Tawilis is good, crunchy as it should be, but i'm not sure about the taste, I just think that they all have the same taste.

You have a choice of eating in a kubo, in the open restaurant, or you can eat carinderia-style, complete with narrow table and worn-out stools.
