Went out for late lunch at Aozora this afternoon. Service was great and food was nicely portioned.

We ordered Chicken Karaage Curry and Beef Gyudon.

The chicken karaage had the right crunch and was also delicious. The gyudon though, I wish would have served hotter and I also found the sauce a bit too sweet.

Overall, we had a pleasant visit this afternoon.

Here’s another restaurant to add to your must-try list when visiting Tagaytay: Aozora Japanese Restaurant. Aozora literally means “Blue Sky” in Japanese. It refers to the food quality served in Aozora: “the place where your taste meets the sky.”. Aozora is notable because it’s the first Japanese restaurant established in Tagaytay. At the time of our visit, they have 2 branches in this city.

Last January, Ian and I celebrated our 8th anniversary as a couple in our favorite go-to destination in the South, Tagaytay. We spent 3 days in Tagaytay so we really maximized our time visiting new places and restaurant. LOL. Yep! We’ve been there so many times yet we keep on coming back. We consider Tagaytay as our second home.

My best friend and I ordered their best seller Aozora Ramen (Bulalo inspired) and Katsudon. The Aozora ramen tasted flavorful and didn't disappoint. The soup was a bit warm though. We preferred it to be blistering hot lol. Their katsudon was uniquely cooked because it has shiitake mushrooms on it. Very palatable. Plus points to the attentive staff who always have smiles on their faces whenever we look and ask something from them. We were so delighted! Best value for our money! We'll go back there when we revisit Tagaytay next time. :)

The food was great. It has a peaceful ambience. We tried the bento set, dragon maki, and shoyu ramen and so far, this was one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in the south. 😊

Must-visit Japanese restaurant in Tagaytay!.
They had the best Tagaytay overlooking site before Starbucks came and bought the whole building. I still love the fact that the place relaxing and not crowded. The al-fresco dining is always inviting...surrounding you with garden landscapes.

Aozora Ramen - Bulalo-inspired Ramen that is addicting! Not enough soup and extra soup does cost extra. MUST TRY!

Chirashi Don - Fresh ingredients, great sushi rice. It has uni!! MUST TRY for sushi lovers.
Donburi - you can't go wrong with any of the donburi here. Filling and high-quality ingredients. Delicious.

Spicy Tuna Maki - I always order in every Japanese resto anything that has "Spicy Tuna" in it. This one did not disappoint either. Although it can be better if it is spicier. Generous toppings.
California Maki - flavor is on point. Simple yet delicious.
Gyoza, Tempura- although not very memorable, still a must order.
Fried Rice - good and bitin. You'll be asking for more.

Don't forget to ask for House Tea!
