Had dinner with the in-laws.  The place was a home converted into a resto-cafe.  We ordered the Burrata, Trofie, Risotto, Vongole, Rigatoni, Parma Pizza, Tartufa ai Formaggi, Tiramisu all Amaretto.  All tasted very good with quality ingredients and are very well plated.  Service was fast.  Pricing is on the high side.  Parking is available.

The food in this restaurant is a bit pricey, but you'll definitely get what you paid for. The food was absolutely delicious and we were very satisfied.

The mushroom soup I had tasted very fresh, definitely not like canned soup quality. The Puttanesca pizza was a good combination of cheese and savory flavors. But the highlight of our meal was the Tuscany T-bone steak. The meat was well-seasoned and very juicy. It was big enough for our group of six.

The ambience of the place is perfect and the service is very commendable. Placing a reservation is recommended since the tables tend to fill up fast. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Metro Manila for me.

The osso bucco is expensive but it is really good. I Ordered Papardelle with duck ragout and mushrooms but it was a letdown, too gamey for my taste. Their tiramisu is the best I ever had.

Finally got to try this place.Authentic Itlaian cuisine in an old San Juan house.Everything was consistent and good from the Burrata salad down to the pizza.

First off, the menu is very interesting and looks like a typical menu you would find in a restaurant in Italy (except that it’s cheaper in many places in Italy). So thumbs up for the menu, decent wine list, and great service - very little waiting time and warm and accommodating.

The food is good - but it doesn’t sing. My pappardelle was 1 degree too soft and the ragout 1 degree underseasoned. I tried the vongole though and that was much better. The pizza was good but the crust was just crust.

I wonder what magic is missing- the water used in the dough? The eggs used in the pasta? Whatever it is, there is that touch that doesn’t seem to be quite there. And for that price point, these marginal errors count.

Been here twice already. Food has been consistently good. Ordered risotto, margarita pizza, carbonara. Their free bread and dip is good. My favorite is their panna cotta. It is really tasty, you know they don't scrimp on using good ingredients. But no matter how good their food is, I find the restaurant to be too expensive. For the amount spent dining here, I could've gone to a hotel restaurant already.

Francesco's Kitchen is one of the best authentic Italian restaurants in the metro. You can order a full-course meal starting from appetizers and antipasti to the main (we had spaghetti with meatballs and pizza) and dessert (we recommend the tiramisu). It also has an in-house cafe which serves delicious cakes (order the mascarpone & berries tart).
This restaurant tends to get packed so it's best to contact them for reservation especially on dinner time or weekends.

My friends and I tried some dishes on the guest chef’s menu. There were some dishes there that were good and others lack flavour.

The suckling pig was really flavourful and soft. My friends really liked it.
The risotto I got was a bit lacking. Maybe I am used to a very strong tasting kind of risotto. I love tasting the leeks, onions and cheese in risotto which was lacking in this dish. Also the crawfish was too dry and it didn’t seem to complement the risotto, I’m sure it isn’t fresh since it doesn’t grow in this region, so the dryness is understandable.
Pizza was surprisingly good. I love the taste of the four cheese pizza and the dough! My friends and I ate our slice/s with honey and their chilly oil...I’d come back for more!
Finally dessert: my fave, Nutellamore!! Always a treat! So glad to be able to come back and enjoy this dish with friends.

I only review iced teas and noodles (in this case pasta). Both get a 4. Yes I will come back and yes it is worth your time and money. The drink is home brewed with layers of flavor. Actually maybe a tad bit too much. The iced tea felt more like it was competing with flavor rather than complimenting the dish, or quenching my thirst. The pasta was aldente and well represented. Was it consistent, no. But some of them brought you to heaven some a bit short. Having said a that would still recommend Francesco's to anyone with a discerning taste for iced tea and a more than decent pasta experience.

The place to taste authentic Italian in Manila. I loved the Parma pizza and the Rigatoni tartufo. Didn't scrimp on the great ingredients. Will definitely be back for more.

Great for people looking for authentic Italian dishes. Serving is good for 2-3 people depending on your appetite. You pay a little extra compared to other basic Italian restaurants but here you’re paying for quality. Looking forward to trying their other dishes soon!

A few friends and I have been craving Italian and since we were at San Juan, we decided to hit up Francesco’s Kitchen for their authentic Italian cuisine. There are three dishes I always crave for and that’s the Osso Bucco which was super tender and flavorful. Next is the Carbonara with its creamy, but still light and not heavy sauce. Last, but not least, the Grouper. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Their pastas are always cooked al dente unlike some places that tend to over cook it. Awesome Friday lunch!

It's a hidden gem tucked along Mabini Street in Addition Hills, San Juan City. Francesco's kitchen serves Italian cuisines. It was very quiet on the area. They have a parking space in front of the restaurant. Inside the restaurant, the ambiance is homey maybe because it's like a house converted into a restaurant. The place is spacious. They play Italian songs (remembered 'O Sole Mio because I also heard that song as a background music in Venice Grand Canal mall). There are few customers that time. Service is good. Staff were accommodating They refill my glass with water whenever it gets empty. They're also attentive though I feel quite awkward when someone's looking at me while I'm eating. WiFi is available. Just approach a staff, he'll give you a code for an hour of WiFi access.The comfort room is clean and pleasant.

I ordered Spaghetti Carbonara and Nutellamore. They served complimentary bread after I chose my order.
Spaghetti Carbonara (P540.00) -  I like how they have an option if you want your carbonara cooked the authentic way (with egg yolk, parmesan cheese, guanciale) or the one that's creamy. I chose the creamy one. I'm surprised that the serving size of their Carbonara is big enough like it can serve 2-3 persons. As a heavy eater, I was able to consume it all. I like how the dish is meaty somehow. It's not noticeable when it was served because most of it were at the bottom of the pasta.

Nutellamore (P480.00) - Molten Nutella lava cake with one scoop of mascarpone gelato. I guess the star here is the Nutella. It was rich and sweet. The mascarpone cheese is not too sweet and I like how it balanced the sweetness of Nutella. Once you slice the lava cake, the chocolate will ooze. I was able to consume the gelato and the gooey chocolate, the cake itself is too much for me, I guess. Serving time is fast.

For me, price range is steep but as a foodie who loves Italian cuisines, this is worth trying for.

Had lunch here with the family and ordered Caprese, osso buco, parma pizza, vongole pasta and nutella dessert. Everything was good. The taste is simple, yet authentic. Service was good and fast. Price is a bit on the high side but given the quality ingredients used, it’s worth it.

Will definitely be back here if I’m willing to load on carbs again 🤪

So we had our despedida for our dear Aunty yesterday at Francesco’s and everything we ordered was superb. I’ll try to remember all of the dishes we tried since I was so busy eating everything placed in front of me.

-Meatballs in marinara sauce
-Assorted seafood pasta in tomato sauce
-Vongole
-Truffle Pasta
-4 cheese pizza with truffle
-Margherita pizza
-Tbone Steak

There were other 2 dishes, I think chicken and the other one is squid. Wasnt able to try it since I was already full. I was so happy with the food that Im planning to have my birthday dinner here.

I was invited for a dinner event at Francesco’s Kitchen in San Juan.

Francesco’s Kitchen is an authentic Italian restaurant, the name was derived from their Italian Chef Francesco.

THE PLACE

You will be fascinated with the interior set up of the restaurant once you enter the place. It’s like a house that it’s very inviting and want you to come all the way. It feels like a home.

They also have brick-oven where they baked the pizza. The restaurant made their pasta from scratch too.

THE FOOD

We were served several Italian dishes from appetizers, pizza, pasta, main course and dessert. All the dishes were flavorful and tasty. But the following caught my attention, and want to come back again for another round:

“Burratta with tomato selection, arugula extra virgin oil and basil”

🍕Cappesante e Portabello, pancetta croccante, vinaigrette al tartufo for Php580.00
“Roasted scallops and portabello mushroom, crispy pancetta ham truffle vinaigrette”

🍕Casarecce con pesto e salmon for Php540.00
“Short twisted pasta with basil and salmon”

🍕Parma Pizza for Php580.00
“Arugula, shaves of Parmesan and cherry tomatoes”

🍕Ossobucco in gremolada con fettuccine alfredo for Php1,080.00
“Veal shank stew with gremolada and fettuccine Alfredo”

🍕Tiramisu al amaretto for Php420.00
“Traditional tiramisu, amaretto flavored”

THE SERVICE

The management of Francesco’s Kitchen were so generous during our visit. The staff were courteous and attentive to assist us.

Overall, I was satisfied with the amount of serving, cozy ambiance and good service provided by Francesco’s Kitchen.

Best Kept Secret Italian Restaurant in Manila

For those people still chasing for the finest and authentic Italian Cuisine, you may include on your list this hidden gem located in San Juan. Francesco's Kitchen managed by Chef Francesco Rizzo. I just noticed that a lot of residential turned into a commercial or restaurant, which is actually perfect because of a homey vibe. The place was huge (two-story home). The kitchen area is spacious as well as the dining area. Interior and table set up really looks good.

Food is served with so much love and passion. Why? Because of how they arrange it, the plating looks enticing and salivating. The Open Kitchen would be enough to testify that they only serve with the best and the freshest Italian Cuisines. According to Chef Rizzo, all ingredients were all made from scratch. WOW!

First on the list is the Le Polpette Di Mamma – One of Chef Rizzo’s favorite appetizers and proud recipe of his mother. The soft and tender meatballs was perfectly seasoned with herbs and spices and melted with Parmesan cheese. A highly recommended dish!

Polipo Alla Griglia Condito Al Salmorglio Con Patate E Fagiolini – OMG! This one caught my attention because of the grilled octopus placed on top of the mixed baby potato and haricot beans. Servings are good for two.

The Burrata Co Varieta’ Di Pomodori Arugula, Olio Extra Vergine D’Oliva E Basilico – this healthy, colorful, simple yet posh salad is made with soft fresh Italian cheese, Roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, crispy arugula, basil plus dashes of olive oil.

For the main course, I genuinely love the Casarecce con Pesto e Salmon – the idea of salmon and pesto totally intrigued me. The taste of the pesto complimented the flavor of the salmon. It was not salty and oily too. 

Guangia Di Manzo Brasata, Con Risotto Affumicato Al Parmigiano or Braised Beef Cheek Risotto – I’m not a big fan but Francesco’s risotto stunned me. I loved the tenderness of the beef cheeks. It melts in my mouth and was so good. Same thing with Ossobucco in Gremolada con Fettucine Alfredo.

I’m pretty sure that kids will like the Spaghetti di Gragnano – the authentic Italian sauce was so hearty and satisfying. 

For the Pizza, their authentic handmade Italian Pizza was baked in brick-oven that toasts within minutes. I tried the Parma comes with tomatoes and fresh & peppery arugula with salty dry-cured Italian ham. My favorite is the Puttanesca Pizza. This amazing recipe made from tomato, mozzarella, capers, sardines, olives, roasted garlic, cherry tomato and pesto. 

Overall, I’m satisfied with the food. I had a great dining experience together with my friends. Highly recommended.

Located somewhere along Mabini St. in Mandaluyong, Francesco's Kitchen is one of those restaurants that you probably pass by daily that you won't notice unless if you see the big F logo on a house  (if you work/live in the area). A house converted into a restaurant that serves in my opinion, one of the best Italian dishes I have ever tried. We ordered the Burrata Salad, Beef Cheek Risotto and the Lamb Ragu Pasta and was served complimentary Foccacia bread. I like the Beef Cheek Risotto the best as the meat was cooked perfectly and almost melts in your mouth. The pasta was a bit bland to my taste while the Burrata is a good as Gino's Burrata.

A great date place because the ambience is great with its brick walls and attentive servers. The risotto nero (560) with sea urchin was absolutely delicious. The lamb chops (1350) were sort of small but cooked medium well. Overall, a good place.

Very good menu and the food is fresh and tasting Italian. Reasonable price. We will come back with a bigger group and hopefully the chef would not be on vacation. Thank you Paolo for recommending Francesco,the chef.

Taste 4, Ambience 4, Price 3, Service 5. Overall 4. The place was packed on Easter Sunday and rightfully so since the food is good. We had pesto pasta with salmon, beef cheek risotto, assorted apetizer platter, pizza, prawns, seafood soup, and minestrone and all tasted well and just glad that they were not salty like restaurant food. My pet peeve is really the pizza dough which I found a tad thick and undercooked. Seems the bottom of the pizza doesnt get hot enough in the brick oven. Or maybe they are afraid to serve the crust with burn marks. Dough should be really worked and the middle of the pizza should have the thinnest dough. But overall still a good pizza but can be taken up a notch. Worth coming back to to try the other food in the menu.

We had dinner here for a late Valentine's celebration. Our meal began with a basket of sourdough that was so fluffy and flavorful! the buratta salad followed. It was a damn good ball of cheese that bursted and melted in your mouth. The crunchy fresh tomatoes and arugula were noteworthy.

The white, truffle pizza came. It was an absolute burst of flavor! The crust was chewy and baked golden. Pure comfort food. The ravioli had a strong bleu cheese flavor that overpowered even the thick yellow cheese sauce. Finally, the black risotto was hearty! The rice was a tad bit mushy and the squid was a bit soft, but the uni was a great touch that made this risotto special. :)

We tried their burrata, their crab fettuccine, and their truffle pizza. The burrata was fine, a bit pricey for my taste but on par with all the other burrata elsewhere. The crab fettuccine was a bit heavy for my taste, and could use some more tomato or a squeeze of lemon juice to give it more brightness, as it was kind of a one note dish. Not really something I'd go for again. The truffle pizza was fantastic, very cheesy, good truffle flavor, definitely something I would want to have again.

I would definitely want to come back and try more of their dishes, a bit pricey of a place but it has some good food.

Francesco’s Kitchen now serves breakfast sandwiches, paninis and croissants with good Italian coffee. Opens 8:00 am. Place is cozy and plenty of parking space. They now also serve lamb, steak and even have the fresh pastas. Ravioli and steak are sooooo good!!!!

Im amazed by this newly opened restaurant near our home. The chef owner who used to cook for Paparazzi in Shang did a pretty good job setting this place up. Ambiance was perfect. Prices are reasonable and the food are authentically Italian.

We ordered the burrata salad, truffle pizza, parma pizza, aglio olio pasta, fettuccini with crabmeat pasta, meatball spaghetti, and grilled chicken.

The burrata salad was a great starter! The tomatoes were juicy and the burrata was so creamy and cheesy and complemented the bitter arugula. It was perfect!

In terms if pizza, my favorite pizzas are cooked in a brick oven with fluffy and chewy dough. But Francesco’s pizza had a thin crust, which was just ok for me, but their toppings were a winner! The truffle pizza was very cheesy and flavorful. It had a good amount of truffle so as not to be overwhelming.
The parma pizza was my favorite dish. They didnt skimp on toppings and i loved the salty and fresh flavors from this pizza.

As for the pastas, they were all just okay for me. Im a pasta girl so I have high standards for pasta dishes LOL. I liked the meatball spaghetti the most because the tomato sauce was very Italian tasting with a tinge of sourness and the meatballs were nicely done too.

The chicken arrived last when we were all full, so i think I won’t be able to give a good review for this. Its grilled chicken with tomatoes which i found just OK, but the people i was with loved this too. The spinach side with cheese is really yummy tho.

We had mascarpone gelato for dessert which was a good way to end the scrumptious meal! It had a light flavor of cheese and the texture was really gelato-y.

It was great too that we were able to meet Francesco himself when we were on our way out. Ill definitely be back here for pizza and their salad!

Finally! Good Italian food made by an Italian chef! We like that their carbonara has an option with cream or eggs. The octopus appetizer was good too. The pizza was thin crust which is a plus.

Service needs work though. The waiters and those making the pizza are a bit slow though.

So happy to have this resto in my neighborhood. My girlfriend and I shared 3 items and my favorite was the scallop with truffle and bacon. This new restaurant is a winner! It was a pleasure meeting you Francesco. Deliziosissima! Salute!

My husband and I are always excited when there is a new restaurant near us. When Francesco's Kitchen opened, we made sure to check it out early on.

We ordered the ff:

Gli antipasti di Francesco - solo. We liked this a lot. The sausages were sliced generously (thicker than most places I've tried). We liked that there were cold cuts and warm items like polenta.

Risotto nero con calamaretti e polpa di riccio - this was what I had as my main dish. It was made very well, but could use a bit more flavor. I liked that they put uni too and it made it different. Simple but different.

Trofie al forno con crema allo zafferanno funghi broccoli e salsiccia- My husband ordered this and it was good!! Order this! (My MIL was eating off his plate lol!)

Spaghetti con polpette al pomodoro - Little child ordered this. Pretty authentic! Even my husband said so. The pasta was well made. Al dente, just like we all like it.

Diavola pizza - I liked the topping a lot (they could add more) but I felt the dough was too tough. My husband liked the dough.

Pollo al mattone con spinachi al parmigiano - my MIL ordered this and she didn't seem too happy with it. When my husband and I tried it, we were quite happy. Flavorful, and the white meat was very juicy and tender.

Gnocco fritto con prosciutto di Parma e mascarpone tartufato - elder child got this and it must have been good. I wasn't able to try any at all hahahhaha!

All in all, we will certainly be back to try the other items on the menu!
