Very good food all the ones that rated this restaurant 1 star is wrong, if you want high quality hotpot you don’t go to tongyang, that aint their market lol pumunta kayo sa four seasons lolol
Preferred than Viking's when it comes to the price, quality of food, and service. Must-eats are the Ebi sushi, beef belly, and the ice cream!
I’ve been to 5 Tong Yang branches already and hands down this is the best branch of them all. I would hate not to see this branch succeeding and that’s why I’m posting this review. This branch has responsive and courteous staff. The food selection has been better than the other branches and most other grill places. It’s relatively cleaner and has more spaces than the other branches; the stuffiest would be Megamall’s based on experience. The food here is what you pay for and there’s no funky dust-musky scent you get a whiff off when roaches are around; Robinson’s Ermita would be guilty of that. The most important part is the for-grilling food selection ISN’T JUST PORK (the cheapest meat of them all, and musky too). Tong Yang GH has great seafood, chicken, and the occasional beef plates to get from and to grill or boil. As for pre-cooked food, don’t expect a lot, almost all Tong Yang restaurants have very limited pre-made food to eat. They’re pretty standard with the dishes, desserts, and drinks, but I appreciate they have an option for Guyabano juice.

🍉Shabu-shabu and Barbecue Buffet
The pioneer in Shabu-Shabu buffet in Manila, Tong Yang has been around even decades before the strings of Korean shabu shabu and bbq buffet restaus mushroomed in every corner of the city. Hence? it is a good thing they are still around and active in the food scene. Their bbq buffet has limited choices compared to other buffet resraus but I love that they have freshly sliced pork and beef belly bacons upon request. What they lack in bbq choices they more than make up for in their shabu-shabu buffet. They are truly the king of shabu-shabu in Manila! all sorts of fish and seafood balls, fresh seafoods, meat and veggies are displayed on the buffet corner. Ypu can choose 2 out of 3 soup base choices: satay, clear, sinigang. I like the satay best! There are limited cooked food as wellnif you are too hungry to cook and wait. They have crispy pata, fried dumplings and crabs in that corner. There are a few dessert choices including Halohalo amd ice cream. What I love though are the wide array of drink choices from beer to juices to sodas. Coffee is also part of the buffet.
REALFEELS: It looks flashy from the outside but quite disappointed that the chairs and tables are already aging. Some of the chairs have peeling covers. The plates are a mix of new and vold chipped ones. I tried their branch in Centris and I love that one better. Maybe it is time the promenade branch sort out and freshen up their fixtures amd furnitures.
However kudos to their kind and honest staff!!! They are friendly and alert and above all, honest! I left my walletnon the table and they went out of their way to return it to me.
PURSEPOWER: At 550 for lunch or just shabu shabu dinner and 650 for shabu shabu and bbq dinner, this is one of rhe cheapest buffet tin town. Conssidering the quality of food you are getting, ut is really a good value for your penny!
BROWNIEPOINTS: Make an advanced reservation esp during dinner to get good seats. Skip the sushi rolls and just save your tummy space for the shabushabu and bbq.
Great variety and quality buffet. Features hot pot and BBQ grill. Everything is delicious and fresh. Good value buffet. Drinks and dessert Included. Can be busy, worth the wait.

been there yesterday..nothing special...food was ok..nice ambiance..if you Are craving for korean cuisine..this place is a must try if you are near greenhills..
There was a time when I was in greenhills and I suddenly craved for a shabu shabu and a grill so I thought of having my early dinner here since it was the only place there that serves what I'm craving and a buffet. I went here on a weekday and the place wasn't that full yet.

Went to greenhills.to find and to have the ipad repaired after walking ang got hungry around 120pm and decided to eat at tongyang coz.we are all.so hungry its our 1st time to try this branch. Well when we arrive the receptionist told us last call will be at 230pm anyway we still.dine in. Lots off food choices price is affordable. Place is ok.
Shabu shabu, buffet, staff are friendly and attentive, food mostly for shabu shabu and bbq, it was worth our money and we had a good time...
Getting a table: we where here on a weekday and it was easy to get a table.
Food: a lot of variety specially seafood and different kinds of meat. Good choices and even have a beverage bar that has several options of drinks. In this branch they use wax paper to prevent clean-up of the grill sonce the meat won't stick to the grill. They still give you a bowl of butter to grill your food and of course the 2 choices of soup for your shabu-shabu.
Overall experience: attendants refills the food so you don't feel that they're stringent or they're holding out on their food, price is also reasonable due to the variety of food and drinks. Even though my son is on the tall and heavy side they agreed to have him pay 50% of their rate, which is good since he only eats hotdogs, rice and ice cream.
Located in Promenade Greenhills. Cook and eat all you can ranging from a variety of meat and seafood. I always enjoy eating at this place and the dining experience that comes along with it (average stay is 3 hours). I do not know how to cook but after several visits I've managed to cook some of my favorite dishes. I recommend getting the halaan, squid, oysters, scallops (seasonal), gindara and the pork neck bbq and beef belly bbq. For cooking, butter, garlic, ginger were readily available. If you want salt you must request for it. For the sauce, sate was my favorite. For dessert their ice cream, halo halo were all good. Bottomless Iced teas, juices, soft drinks and coffee were available. Only downside i can think of was the extra charge for the angus beef and comfort room was out of order, had to use the mall which was quite far away. Function rooms available. Suitable for big groups. Accepts reservation. Not suitable for small children.
I like this branch better than the one in megamall! First time i ate here on a saturday at around 2:30pm. There were still a lot of food on the spread. They do not scrimp on refilling too. Plus they do not run out of crabs, cooked or not. Their beef slices are of better quality too. And they have crispy pata.

Lots of fresh food to choose from. The meat tastes good! (They have additional fee for angus beef) The ambiance is relaxing. The staff are very accommodating and generous. Although it has limited dessert station, (halo halo bar and ice cream bar only) it's still good.
Plus they serve unli crabs, unli crispy pata and unli San Miguel Draft beer too! It's pocket friendly for an eat-all-you-can. My girlfriend and I had a great time. 👍🏼
Will definitely come back!
The best Tong Yang branch I've ever been to! The place is big and has a second floor. The price is a little bit higher compared to other branches but it's worth it. They have a lot more food choices ranging from the type of slice of meat to grill to the type of vegetables, balls and noodles to cook with the soup plus their other meat and fish for grilling. They also have sisig, crispy pata and crabs. Yes, crabs with lots of aligue! Plus they have unlimited beer, coffee and other drinks to choose from. The waiters were also very attentive to our needs and I love the ambiance as well. The only negative side is that the floor was so sticky and it was kind on untidy. 😀😀😀
I do not have much to say about this place. It is just a regular all you can eat restaurant but it has a very fresh seafood, lot of fish choices, freeflow beer, and a nice cozy silence place to be with your family. Not to mention the all you can drink coffee with lots of choice also.
I like the Tong Yang at SM Megamall better. We sat at the second floor so we had to traverse a flight of stairs every time we got food. Plus, the staff isn't as accommodating here at Greenhills.
At 700 pesos for dinner buffet of shabu-shabu and hotpot, it's good value for your money. There aren't a lot of premium items on the menu, but at least they have beef belly. The shrimp always runs out and they take time to refill it. Their sauce selection is good, you can use them to cook your food on the grill, mix them in your soup, or use as a dipping sauce. I was also able to try alupihang dagat, or mantis shrimp, as no one seemed to want to try eating that weird-looking thing. It was quite good, actually, tasted like crab.
Good experience. Had lunch here for our pre-Wedding Anniversary celebration. It was fully-booked being a holiday, we waited for awhile and they were nice to accommodate us. They offered immediately highchair for our baby. Shabu-shabu Clear Soup was delicious, our baby loved it. Veggies and dumplings savory taste made the soup more enticing. Enjoyed their fried chicken and my husband enjoyed their beef strips. Ice cream was also flavorful and good texture.
Oooookay! After a traffic enduring and marathon walking kind of day, finally squeezed in a movie date! Of course, Burnt is our top pick since KP and I could really relate to it.
Anyway, I was craving for Shabu-shabu for some time now and KP surprised me for dinner here before we watch the movie! Yaaay!
We were given the chance to choose between 3 types of broth and we chose the Clear Soup and Sate Soup. There were a lot of fresh choices from greens, vegetables, fresh fish, poultry, and meat. They also have different kinds of fishballs/crab sticks and anything you can imagine into your shabu shabu.
I like their sate sauce but they also have different types of sauces that would compliment your grilled items and shabu shabu.
Personally, I liked the sate broth it has a little bit of kick and the shitake mushroom, young corn, shrimp and fresh noodles. For the grilled items, I liked the Chicken Satay, and Tuna.
They have limited dessert bar though, a halo-halo station, ice cream and fruits. I just had fruits cause I didn't feel like eating desserts.
Beer on tap is also available and different juices to choose from.
Our dinner has been wonderful, my craving was satisfied and our tummies were full before watching the movie. :)
Loving their eat all u can shabu shabu & grill in one! 😋 because i like the experience of having hot sate soup & grilling your own food at the same time. there's also readily cooked food you could choose from whenever you're tired of cooking (i usually get crabs😋).
As for the dessert, i dont remember much because im usually full before i can get to that part.😊
For sushi lovers, this is the right place for you! Yup, they serve quite great and satisfiable sushis plus you can have your own little shabu-shabu. As for the food, the categories are only limited. There's just not enough filipino food- if you're looking for them then it's just a no. There's more of Japanese cuisines but don't worry, they have dessert lounge that could really satiate you. Overall, it's a great place to hangout or catch-up.
Tong yang is a great place to eat. If you are looking for an affordable eat all you can place you might want to give this serious consideration. Their shabu shabu food choices are plentiful. Even the ones I tried out for the first time were all winners. This is a great place to eat with friends and family.
Tong yang I was not expecting to be good. And I was right, it was not good, it was great! The shabu shabu was awesome and I had a great time plunking down stuff after stuff on it. Funny enough I did not know when it was cooked already. I just kept on putting food there. overall, it was a fun eating experience.
Definitely a go-to place when you're not sure what you want to eat but you can definitely take in a lot of food. They have all sorts of items you can boil and grill and cooking your own would mean it would also be your fault if the food doesn't taste good (lol!).
Great choice of food. Good service and price! Ambiance is good, not too noisy. Only problem is the exhaust system. You smell what you grilled. Fun place to be with friends and family
Buffet items not as complete as the ones from Jupiter, Makati branch. Fascinated that they sometimes have shark meat on their selection. Servers are nice but not as friendly as the ones from the other branches who really take care of you.
Tong yang was a bit of a surprise. I did not expect much. I mean a shabu shabu buffet? Not exactly an appetizing thought. Lo and behold, their selections for the shabu-shabu are quite yummy! I do not recall all their names but I definitely remember the tastes and flavors. There are also cooked dishes for those who cannot wait for the other ingredients to cook in the soup.
Tried this place for the first time when we celebrated my brother's high school graduation. The place was packed that time but still, the receptionist made a way to give us a table so, we didn't have to wait that long 😊
The service was good. Fast. Nice waiters and waitress. I also liked the ambiance, very comfy. Although I liked almost eveything about the place- structure, location, ambiance, service and drinks, I wasn't really impressed with their food 🙈
Almost everythinh was slightly bland. I think it wasn't marinated long enough. Their selection of raw and preserved meat and they display's limited. Like of there's a hotdog on display, you'll find every single kind of it 😂
But on the plus side, everything was fairly okay. I personally loved their varities of drink! The desserts was so-so. I'm not really a fan of sweets.. so yeah 😅 I also liked their shabu-shabu since they have lots of seafood to choose from 👌
Super worth it. Although the soup we tried (sinigang and kimchi) were a bit bland, you can alter the taste by adding condiments since they have a lot! Lastly, Guyabano juice, THE BOMB!!
A great place for shabu-shabu and an exciting cooking experience. It is a buffet with both ready made and raw food you can cook on your own table. I like how there is a choice between boiling it in a hot pot and frying them. The best part about this place is the special sauce that complements any of the veggies, meat, and seafood in the buffet. There is a dessert place but it is not so impressive. I recommend the tenderloin beef and all of the fresh veggies for a healthier alternative of the normal buffet with greasy food.
Affordable Shabu Shabu buffet.
My Food-O-Meter:
Taste: 3.5/5
Price: 5/5
Service: 4/5
Buffet comes with drinks (soda, juice, brewed coffee & even draft beer)
Seafoods include crabs, oysters, mussels, shrimp & squid among others.
Shabu shabu and grill buffet, comes with a very affordable price compared to other buffets in the metro. Although, I didn't like the set up of the promenade branch, the up and down scene didn't really impress me at all. If you're in a buffet, you wouldn't want to go up and down to get your food right? When it comes to the food, there's a wide variety of raw food for grilling and shabu shabu. But, from the crispy pata and calamares, (only 2 cooked dishes!) it was really cold and hard to chew already.

Had buffet shabu shabu and grill. Choices for shabu shabu are quite similar to each other. What we enjoyed much is the grill which has very tasty barbecues and seafoods, meat and squid good with lots of butter. Had also side dish like kimchi and ice cream for dessert. Quite expensive with few choices of dishes to choose from.

I came here with my friends for a get together. I have been to tongyang at centris before so i know what to expect. The Food choices on this branch ok, though smaller than the one in centris. overall, this is a nice experience since even though unlike yakimix where there is a wide selection of foods, tongyang lets you experience both grilling and making a hotpot which is their main selling point.
overall experience is nice but not really outstanding.
as for the price, it's reasonable and quite affordable.
Recently had dinner for my birthday celebration...Found at the new wing of Promenade Mall Greenhills, this new branch is much better than Jupiter branch in terms of interiors and buffet set up. Organize and prompt customer service. Food and drink varieties is still the same, but more presentable and organized, I like their Wintermelon drink and Fic ice cream. Price point is P595/person net, not bad and still a bit lower compared to other buffet restos. they slightly have lesser food choices but they are the only popular resto I know that includes shabu-shabu style with yakiniku grill and unlimited drinks! Recommended.
One of the best places to eat with the family and the whole crew. Hotpot is such an awesome way to bond. Average pricing, not too overwhelmingly pricey, but the soup could still use some improvement.
Best for family gatherings! They also have unlimited draft beer to pair with your samgyeopsal!
