First, I’m all over their customer service! They made sure we had everything we needed, that we were dining comfortably, even offered and asked if there was anything else we needed. Water refills were quick, we didn’t have to ask!
I love the variety they offer when it comes to salad. I got so excited, I stuffed myself with greens before my main dish came. On the other hand, miso soup was quite salty. I could barely finish an entire bowl. Brown and white rice were available. Neither one I liked. BUT the rice toppings were so yum, I forgive the mushy rice.
There was a pot filled with hot tea. This was greatly appreciated after a pig out sesh.
Over all, I had a great time dining. It was date night, and we got to talk since the place was quiet enough. We did not feel rushed. We had privacy. We will be back for sure.
Mine and my auntie ‘s favorite katsu place, mostly because of convenience and location. Their katsus are to die for, perfectly crisp, perfect flavour, and best of all , they all come with buffet fruits and veggies, rice and miso soup and come with all sorts of unique flakes/toppings that i looove pouring over my meals!!!

Love that my husband and I were able to discover this restaurant. We didn’t know that their Katsu Set Meal are so good! Staff were very accommodating and also love the ambiance! We’ll definitely come back!
One of the best katsu dish around grwenhills. Quality of beef is good compared to yabu. Price is affordable also they have unli rice/appetizer/soup. Love their beef katsu curry.
Good place to dine with friends. Despite the place limitation in space, yet they were able to maximize it. As always, i enjoy the sides and salad buffet station. Curry as expected is good and crispy. Not to oily. Been here twice 👍👍👍

I’ve always loved Katsu but when I ordered Sakura Pork Oroshikatsu in Eastwood branch, I keep ordering it. The radish on top keeps my palate less satiated of the meat marbled with fats. Katsu Sora also provides unlimited vegetable, rice, miso and fruits with an order of Katsu.
Their food is great! Anything I order there never disappoints me. Their sides bar is always restocked once emptied and the crew is very friendly. The restroom is far from the restaurant.
One of our latest discoveries is a lean tonkatsu dish with sweet and salty miso sauce from Katsu Sora, which I love because you can’t find this stuff anywhere else. The pork was lean, tender and juicy, and the sauce accentuated the flavors. 💕
By the way, the rice, soup and salad come in unlimited servings, so if you really want to get your money's worth, this is a good place to go! 👍🏻
My first Katsu Sora branch. :)
Lately the service have been dwindling compared to the first time we dined here.
But the food is always great and fresh and you get value for your money.
Plus points for playing Japanese music in the store.
Their tonkatsu is better than Yabu's. Yes, I am for reals. I always go for their Iberico pork and their heavenly salad bar. I am yet to gain the restraint from their Iberico pork and try their other food items, but please, until then, eat their Iberico pork.
I came out really happy after I dined in this restaurant. Katsu Sora, doesn't seem like a new place in Promenade Greenhills but I've never been here before. January seemed like a good time to try new meals, and this restaurant exceeded expectations.
I went for the chicken Katsu as I am trying to cut down on my pork, on the other hand my brother went for a really nice pork brand for his meal. It fetched quite a hefty price for a dish. Mine was only around 200+ but my brother's meal was around 600+. Although, when I saw how my brother enjoyed his meal, it was definitely worth every buck. The reason I showed the price contrast was because either way, you can have access to their salad bar. I was ecstatic. I'm a big fan of shredded cabbage with the roasted sesame dressing. They had fruits there too like pineapple and watermelon. I also liked their pumpkin and potato salad. They had bottomless hot tea for your beverage and the perennial favorite of most Filipinos unlimited (Japanese) rice. This is just the accompaniment to your meal, I haven't described my main dish yet.
My viand was the chicken katsu, it was very tender on the inside, and had this beautiful layer of golden brown breading. What's not to like here? I love the katsu sauces too which you can mix with freshly ground sesame seeds. My brother on the other hand had this huge donburi meal and he finished everything, not in one gulp but he finished before me. He looked really satiated with the food we ordered.
Service is also very good, since it's my first time here, I asked the staff many questions on the meals and they gave their fair recommendations. The food was served within a good amount of time and the taste was superb. I'd definitely look forward to dine in this restaurant again. If there was anything negative though, I just found the place a bit dark and gloomy given we dined midday. Perhaps they just need to spruce up the place.
It was our first time here last November 4, 2017 with my girlfriend and it was a splendid experience.
We ordered for the Sakura Set, then the waitress gave us 2 bowls which left us wondering why, then we found out that the bowl was for their UNLIMITED SALAD! I repeat! UNLIMITED SALAD! They have this very nice & abundant choices of greenies. We ordered it for 370php and it came with that. Which left us wondering how much of a bargain our dinner was!
I recommended right away to my parents and we will be back ASAP!
“My heart was literally jumping with joy as I get my first sip from my Miso soup, first bite from my Katsu and first munch from my salad bowl. Heaven.”
It’s been awhile since we last posted about #FoodHuntsMnl. We kinda avoided pricey and good restaurants for quite sometime because we wanted to focus more on our business and expenses . However I think after our successful soft opening (which I’ll talk about that in another post) It’s just right to give ourselves a little treat and celebration. (justification level 999999) hahaha
The B was as always kind enough to let me choose what restaurant to go to. (Our readers would know that he always prefers American cuisine but he wants me to be happy so…..hehe) I have been eyeing Katsu Sora for awhile now. The place looks like they serve really good and authentic Japanese dishes that I would fell in love with. Nonetheless it was true. I really enjoyed our dinner and I might consider this my new favorite Japanese restaurant!
We ordered the following:
B’s - Iberrico Pork Tonkatsu Set *655php
Mine - Cheese and Ohba Mille Feuille Set *365php
Both sets come with unlimited refills of rice, salad and soup
First, let us talk about the Buffet Bar. I am in love with it. I honestly went back 3 times because I was freaking loving their salad selection.
If you are looking for a great japanese meal + budget friendly to satisfy your cravings, i highly suggest that you should go to this resto. Friendly environment , cozy and quiet . A perfect spot to hang with your love ones !!!!!!
And the best of part of it is in every set of any meals comes with unli rice , salad and soup !!
So if your hungry as F you better go now 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 !!
came across this place while looking for someplace new to eat in greenhills . just like Yabu but they had a salad bar of veggies, potato salad and all , self service heaps of japanese rice , unli soup . very filling if you're famished .
Excellent pork Katsu, with a selection of 4 grades of pork. Unlimited salad bar. Very reasonably priced. Good alternative to Yabu. Good service too.
What I liked about Katsu Sora was their unlimited salad when I ordered their Sakura Pork Katsudon set.
It was after watching a recital at Music Museum when my friends and I decided to try out this place. It was a good thing that they accepted us at the last minute. The staff were friendly and our orders did not take too long before it was served.
While waiting, we already started with the salad bar which got me a bit sated before trying my katsudon. I liked the choices from the salad bar and I enjoyed the DIY salad, with a variety of dressings to choose from.
The katsudon was tender, works well with the sauce that they have. The serving was good and I had to share half of it to my friend since I already got full.
Gotta love Katsu Sora!
I have to admit that their Katsu is lack luster and quite comparable with the other good katsu places but what endears me to Katsu Sora is their Buffet Bar with the fantastic array of salads (3 types of lettuce, organic cabbage, broccoli, 2 types of potato salad, squash salad, fruits etc). Don't you just get tired of just eating cabbage in the other Katsu places?!?
Then they have 2 types of rice with some choices of rice seasonings (fish egg, salmon roe, chicken egg). They also have a special rice when you order the premium Katsu pork.
The buffet set-up saves me from calling the waitstaff for refills which is a pet peeve of mine.
Been craving for Katsu for a while, gladly on my visit to greenhills, spotted this place. They have this unlimited salad, soup, and rice bar which makes their place unique from the traditional katsu restaurants in the metro. They are also very generous with the vegetables in the salad bar (they didn't limit it to the cheap lettuce but also has broccoli, potato salad, corn, etc.). The sauces had different variations too; I love their sesame dressing. Their tonkatsu sauce had the right taste though I may not have enjoyed the tonkatsu itself because of overeating the sides 😅. Nevertheless, my mille cheesy pork tonkatsu was very crisp and the meat was tender. It was not too salty and not tasteless and the breading was light and perfectly fried!!
Ate here 5x. I find Katsu Sora equally delicious as Yabu. I love their salad bar!! I always get a lot of broccoli and their super delicious potato salad ❤️ all the diff katsus taste the same for me though. My parents also like it here, but they don't like the fact that you have to stand up to refill your rice, soup, drink, salad of choice
Planned on having lunch here on a rainy day during a visit to good ole Greenhills. Read reviews and their menu prior to going so we've already had an idea on what to expect. Upon arriving, you'll get a feel that it's really a Japanese restaurant with it's wooden interior and decors. We were still able to choose where to sit since it's almost lunch time on a friday. We chose to sit near the buffet table for easier access. There's one table occupied already when we arrived but come lunch time, employees from nearby offices started coming in. The boyfriend had the Kurobuta curry set and I had the Sakura Katsudon set. Both sets come with unlimited rice, miso soup and salad which are all contained in the buffet table. They gave us 2 bowls for the salad and 2 miso soups to start off. Their salad choices consists of various vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, corn etc), potato salad with and without egg, pumpkin salad, various fruits (orange, watermelon, cantaloupe and fruit salad). They also have different salad dressings and vinaigrettes which I wasn't able to try since I love sesame dressing so much (avail at the table). You can also find the miso soup and rice refill from the buffet spread. As per the boyfriend, the kurobuta meat was soft as it should be but the curry taste was so so. He liked Yabu's version better since they have varying level of spiciness. I found the pork katsudon off since it's served on a different serving plate from the rice. Nonetheless, it was an okay dish. I prefer the egg from katsudon cooked all the way from the inside which they undercooked. The meat was tender and easy to bite. I enjoyed the salad spread and it's really value for your money since there are a lot of choices. I think they're understaffed with 2 servers because they're also refilling the buffet table. Due to lack of staff, the refill was also slow. Speaking of staff, they were nice enough to heed to customer's request but I think they should smile more often. I get this notion that they're not happy to be there. Overall though, I enjoyed the salad bar and the food that I ordered. I also look forward to visiting again!
This restaurant reminds me of YABU. It has almost the same menu, but with a little difference - they have more side dishes offered, actually it was a big unlimited salad bar.
But when it comes to taste of the food, I like YABU better, maybe just because of the level of spiciness offered there for the curry dish, and my potatoes and carrots was overcooked.
This is still a must-try restaurant around Greenhills.
I love their katsudon, they set my standard with mainstream katsudon. Love the unli salad bar and unli rice (which they have a variety of rice you can choose from).
Got to try this place just for the heck of trying it. The food was typical Korean, the place was nice and clean but nothing really special or remarkable. With the different Korean cuisines or restaurants dotted around the area, there isn't any stand out dish or feature that the restaurant has. I guess I'll go for another try one of these days to try other dishes and maybe write a new review depending on any progress the restaurant has made.
Hands-down my favorite Katsu Place.
Katsu Sora offers everything you want and need. Unlimited salad bar? Check. Food to die for? Check. Good service? Check. Value for money? Check.
Sorry if I'll gush over Katsu Sora'a goodness but I'm such a huge fan of this place. No pretense, just really goo Katsu dishes. For a mere P350-ish, I'll get to enjoy a large serving of katsudon in steamy goodness. The egg was so fresh and flavorful. The pork was tender and the salad bar houses a lot of options. Their potato and egg salad is a favorite.
Even recommended this place to a friend as she absolutely loved it. Well, she loves every place I recommend but still.
I love Katsu Sora. The end.
We had a quick lunch before watching a movie at Promenade. I enjoyed their salad buffet cos you get to choose what you want. I got a little kiddie moment picking all the salad stuff. 😅
We got Sakura Oroshikatsu Set and Cheese & Ohba Mille Feuille plus a Yomogi dessert.
Although I got the one with cheese I ended up eating and liking the Oroshikatsu one. Hehehe 😄. Their katsu sets were delicious!!! As for the Yomogi, which was ice cream with mochi balls++, I found it yummy as well though I felt like it was worth less than its price 😔. Sadly, we didn't get to enjoy the unli rice much because we were in a rush to catch our movie. Their rice was good pa naman. 😅
I've been seeing this place for a really long time and finally I was able to try and boy was I pleased with the dishes offered in comparison to their prices. All their katsu sets have the same grams but increase price depending on the kind of meat used. It's awesome that during lunch time they have a katsu sampler set where it contains two pieces of the 4 pork meat types. The sakura and shimofuri pork were kind of the same thing expect that the other was more tough. I was a bit disappointed with the iberico (their specialty) because it was too tough to enjoy while in my opinion the best was the korubata (wagyu) which was so tender and juicy it just had to be my last bite. Another thing I can commend is that their set include unli salad (not just cabbage), two choices of rice (japanese rice and 5 grain rice) and choice of soup (didn't get a chance to check out the options). Overall, one of the best if not the best katsu place with a really great value for money.
Katsu Sora really made it to my favorite Japanese restaurants! With a very nice dining ambiance, good food, and ofcourse their Salad buffet! It was in SM BF that I started to love Katsu Sora. I must say, different branch, but still the same good dining experience with their Greenhills branch. My friend and I enjoyed stayed for a good 2-3 hrs here chit-chatting while enjoying good food. I wanted to try something else, but ended up with the Sakura Curry Don again. Giving 4.5 rating again, as I would really appreciate if the curry is spicy or even just a little hint of it as curry is really spicy... And also their miso soup is so-so, no tofu and not that tasty. But all in all their food is great! Their matcha iced tea is really delicious and a must try for Green Tea lovers :) Definitely would love to eat here again and again! Everything is worth every cent! And kudos to a very accommodating staff :)

My friends and I were roaming around Greenhills looking for a good place to have lunch when we passed by Katsu Sora — a quaint Japanese restaurant tucked in a corner by the stairwell. We were sold when we read that orders come with unlimited rice, soup and salad. The restaurant's interior is very nice giving a true Japanese ambience to the place.
I originally thought that the unli salad was just like the usual shredded cabbage but I was wrong. Katsu Sora has a self-service salad bar filled with fresh fruits and veggies as well as an assortment of salad dressings.
For my main meal, I ordered the Cheese and Ohba Mille Feuille Set. It was a pork cutlet with Japanese basil and melted cheese layered inside. The cuts were thick and very filling. It wasn't greasy too which is a plus.
All in all, Katsu Sora is definitely a katsu place that I would go back to.
Nice, juicy fat black pig topped with curry sauce for me here in Katsu Sora.
Unfortunately, the saving grace for the meal was the unlimited salad bar that comes with your chosen set. Unanimous favorite was the potato sides, but my personal favorite was the organic shredded cabbage topped with ground sesame seeds.
The rice was fragrant and filling, but their soups were too salty. If there was a Knorr sinigang mix equivalent for miso soup, congratulations, Katsu Sora serves it.
Overall, there has been an indirect relationship between the contents of my stomach to the contents of my wallet. Little regret has been felt about this, though.

i dont usually walk-in to restaurants unless not reviewed from zomato or other reliable sources. katsu sora is undeniably worth the risk! we just wanted a Japanese cuisine that fits our budget and we were very hungry that time. the buffet salad, rice and soup definitely made us say yes to dine in when we pass by. i tried the menchi katsu burger (php250) and it didnt disappoint me. just the thought of katsu as a burger makes me be curious and just go for it. so unique and special. my sister had a pork katsu set. she enjoyed it and the unli salad and rice is super sulit for her. definitely will be back.
service and staff and place is all perfection. the restaurant just didnt have wifi so i cant give it a 5. hiihi

I love dining here with my family. We usually order 3 katsu sets (the mille feuille, the chicken with cheese and the salmon fry). These sets all come with unlimited refills of miso soup, rice and salads from the buffet bar. These viands can adequately feed a family of four. Of course, the food is well-cooked and tasty.

We doctors maximize our time when it we have a "day off", and we mean it. With this, we decided to take a trip to Greenhills San Juan for this Katsu restaurant that has unlimited salad, soup, rice and tea all you can buffet. They have different kinds of pork, what I like is the Shimofuri pork because of it's sutle texture, and compact taste. If you like to taste the "fattiness" of the pork, you have to try premium iberico pork. For the salad, the potato salad and squash salad will keep you from having early satiety. It is fresh, and it has a simple taste but can be very sinful (carb-y) if you keep eating it! Will come back probably to try the fish katsu. :)
We had the Ebi Katsu and Kurobuta Katsu. Each order has miso soup (which is refillable) and Japanese rice (also refillable)
For appetizer, there's a buffet salad bar which we really enjoyed.
This place's specialty is their katsu of course. While their specialty is awesome and all, It was actually their refillable salad bar that I liked a whole lot. I especially liked their potatoes. I think I ate a ton. Of course, it is worth noting that their meat is comparable to that of Yabu.
I was never a fan of tonkatsu but Katsu Sora changed that. I absolutely LOVE this place! I had the Iberico Pork Tonkatsu Set and it was the MOST DELICIOUS tonkatsu I've ever eaten. The salad bar has a good selection of fresh vegetables and fruits, which, of course, is a plus. The fact that you can get unlimited servings of said vegetables and fruits make dining here even better. LONG LIVE KATSU SORA!
Love their unlimited salad bar with yummy choice of dressings. We ordered their mixed seafood set, kurobuta katsudon set, mille feuille set and iberico pork tonkatsu. The pork is very tender and tasty. Trying hard to avoid pork dishes but this one can be my exception and the salad can be my saving grace! The seafood set is also a very good alternative. All worth the calories!
Japanese food at it's finest. Great service, great food. Unli salad and rice, worth the price. Great ambiance as well. Will surely come back 👍🏻
I liked everything about this place especially their side dish unlimited buffet! The tonkatsu serving was cheaper compared to other japanese restaurants but also Big. The Sakura Pork with Cheese is a must-try! I never really liked cheese with tonkatsu but this place put basil and cheese in between and just nailed it!!
A unique restaurant of Buffet/Ala Carte. Premium Katsudons, Lots of Varieties and Sauces. Loved the Buffet of Salad, fruits, Miso Soup and Rice. It will surely make you stuffed just from the Buffet not yet including your main dish/main order. They don't sell Other Japanese Delicacies, only focused on Katsudons. It may Be Pork, Chicken, Crab or Shrimp. And on those choice of poultry, there are still variety if you would want Sakura Pork or etc. A nice place if you are really into Japanese Katsudons.
Worth the money! Salad bar is good especially the potato salad with egg. Katsu is okay, a bit bland compared to Yabu. Staff is very attentive to customers
This tonkatsu place serves really good stuff. Love the fact that it sorts of educates you with the different pork varieties and possibilities. The unlimited salad bar is the cherry that tops the ice cream here, a welcome addition to your meal, great idea. Wished that the place wasn't so cramped though.
After Yabu, everything else comes second but Katsu Sora made it sure that it will stand out. Offering an array of salad options and multi-grain rice options, serving you with a thirst-quenching fresh juice. I will give it a good score! Good service but warning on Sundays, they are jampacked!
Our new favorite tonkatsu place! OMG better than ****! Plus points on the unlimited salad bar, and the pork tastes way better. We should come back soon!
Definitely my new favorite place to have tonkatsu! Their meat is tender and crispy, cooked in perfection. Even their dressings for the salad are the best. Two thumbs up!
This is so much more than what I expected. I ordered their Sakura Katsudon Set, it tastes excellent and I mean it! They also have a buffet of salad, cabbage, corn, broccoli, soup, and of course unli rice! Katsu Sora is definitely not just an ordinary House of Katsu.
the salad bar! the potato salad, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, japanese cucumber, corn kernels. i haven't tried their squash salad but my friend said it's great too. maybe they served my meal late but before taking the first bite of my kurobuta set meal i was half full. unlimited salad, rice, soup and tea. at least 4 furikake variants (tarako is my favorite) and a lot of dressings to choose from. あれは 空。
Tried their new branch at Trinoma. Nothing special on their tonkatsu. But what really stands out was the unlimited salad. With different choices of salads, vegetables and fruits and wide selections of dressings too. The staffs are well-trained and friendly. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

This was a very pleasant surprise. After experiencing Yabu, I thought my katsu experience was all downhill from there. I was wrong. What sets Katsu Sora apart is the buffet style of its salad which complements its katsus really well. I particularly liked the potato salad.
When I first heard of Katsu Sora, I got curious right away as to what they could offer, different from other Japanese tonkatsu Resto. So I, together with my family rushed to the nearest Katsu Sora which is located at the 4th level of Trinoma Garden.
The crew were all very nice and super accommodating. They assisted us every step of the way. They explained everything in the menu with a friendly smile. Then minutes later they brought in our food.
I ordered 3 different dishes..the Cheese & Ohba Mille Feuille, Iberico Katsudon and Chicken with Cheese & Ohba Katsu. "Ohba Mille" is a tonkatsu made with the world's most sought after pork meat. It's so highly marbled, juicy and sweet that it melts in your mouth & want to ask for more. Iberico Katsudon is also made with premium pork served with Japanese rice, salad, soup and hot tea and comes with unlimited refills of salad, soup and rice at the buffet bar. It's pork is made of lean meat only...meaning no pig fats included and it's so "malambot" that even our seniors (Lolo & lola) can munch on it. Who could go wrong with chicken and cheese?? That's their famous "Chicken with Cheese Ohba" that's made even better by coating it in a special panko and cooking it perfectly for that one of a kind katsu experience...its so irresistible!
It's a little pricey but it's worth the money. The ambiance is great. Over all its a 2 thumbs up Katsu experience for me and my family. I will DEFINITELY recommend this Resto to my friends and relatives. We're happy well satisfied customers. Oh by the way, thanks "Jay-Ar" (he's our very accommodating and friendly server) who assisted us all through out our dining experience. Job well done.
Yes, yes, definitely yes!
(There'll be an updated version of this soon on my blog and here on Zomato and I've added new pictures too!)
Last night after watching a movie, the BF suggested Katsu Sora and I was hesitant because I wanted to start a new diet routine. Of course I gave in because I've wanted to try it there for a while now.
From outside it looks like a small place you wouldn't be comfortable to dine in but there's apparently more to it than meets the eye -or once you go inside. We were seated near the salad bar which was a plus because that's what I wanted to eat in the first place: salad. I was honestly so out of it when I was ordering that I just picked the first thing that looked good to me which was the Kurobuta Pork Tonkatsu Set which includes Kurobuta Pork Tonkatsu, Juugokokumai Rice, Salad, Soup, Hot Tea and the BF had the Sakura Pork Tonkatsu Set which has Sakura Pork Tonkatsu, Japanese Rice, Salad, Soup, Hot Tea.
The unlimited salad bar, I loved. However, I wasn't able to go back for seconds because I wanted to leave room for the main course.
The Kurobuta Pork Tonkatsu Set and I were a match made in heaven, it was delicious. To me, it was just the right amount of fat and tender meat. Of course there were variations with our orders like the meat used, the soup and the rice. And I did like mine better but I would've been happy with the Sakura Pork set as well.
The customer service was great, they were trained to anticipate our needs and to help improve our dining experience. They were very friendly and accommodating.
I was a happy camper.
The only sad part about this whole dining experience is that, I wasn't able to do the food justice with my pictures since we watched a movie and cameras aren't allowed inside the theatre so we had to leave it in the car, you could also leave it with the guard but I'm sure they won't be liable for any damages. So I had to take pictures with my phone. Next time though, and for sure there'd be a next time in the near future, I'd take another set of pictures for sure.
I'd definitely encourage you to try. If you ask me their prices are worth it and you can also check out their menu at the top to see their selection and prices.
Let me know what you think!
and check out my blog! (link can be found below)
Happy Eating! :)
