I love this place a lot and I usually drop by before here and get some snacks and the drinks are also cool and very refreshing. This also built my relationship with a very special someone. The staff are also amiable and they always give a smile. Moreover, your foreigner staff whom I love so much. I would always drop by whenever I have time and try out other foods in the menu! Worth recommending! ☺️
Great ambience and the staff were friendly and attentive even if we dined near closing time. Servings are generous which is good for the price. The callos and paninis are must-tries. Mangia bene!

The Lengua with salted egg rice and the panini are so tender even an elderly can bite to eat easily. If you have an eatogo apps you may get 50% off base on each restaurant time of reservation
Cafe Publico is standout restaurant at Greenhills Promenade as it offers not just food and beverage but as well as board games to pass the time.
Food:
We tried out the Mushroom Truffle Spaghetti (Php 315), Beef Lengua (Php 335) and the Mushroom Soup (Php 160). I started out with the appetizer which is the Mushroom Soup. It comes with three small pieces of crunchy garlic bread and the soup itself is very creamy. Though I would have appreciated more mushroom taste, the soup is within expectations given its price point. I had a bite with the Beef Lengua that comes with some nachos and salted egg. My experience was that the meat was very tasty and tender. It is also value for money given the quality and price point. Last but not least is the Mushroom Truffle Spaghetti. It comes with three pieces of crunchy bread similar to the Mushroom Soup but is also has some salsa on top. Although I find that the pasta itself too creamy, the dish makes up for its generous proportions of mushroom and truffle given its price point.
Service:
The service by staff from beginning to end is above average. They were very accommodating and were alert to our needs (refilling service water without the need to ask). Preparation of our orders took an adequate (not swift and not too long) amount of time to be served. The staff also quickly attended to our needs upon our request.
Ambiance:
Although the interior of the venue itself is small. It is sufficient enough to feel homey and differentiated from the mall itself. Temperature was just right (not too hot and cold) and there is sufficient spacing between tables to not feel cramped despite its size.
Overall, Cafe Publico is a must try if you have yet to do so. Food is highly value for money (and you can obtain discounts using the Eatigo mobile application). Service is excellent as staff is very alert to your needs and service oriented and the place makes you feel like home away from home.

Cafe Away from the Public
Product: Whenever I look at places to eat in Zomato, I always stumble upon Cafe Publico but never really choose to eat here for some unknown reason. Finally though, I convinced my family that we should eat here. The prices were definitely higher than usual and the serving is normal too but the food was good so I don't regret eating here as long as I don't think about the price.
We got a Chicken Salpicao, Mushroom Salad (Can't remember the name), and their Breakfast Platter (Also not exact name), a Nutella Hot Choco, and a Coffee Affogato. The menu posted here is quite different from the one I saw when we ate here so I can't really remember the exact names.
My parents loved the salad, the serving was big but good enough to satisfy only one person and the breakfast platter was also big and it's good enough for sharing. It came with two cups of rice, two small eggs, tocino, and longganisa. I'm a sucker for breakfast food so I loved it but for a smaller price, I can enjoy these at other restaurants. I wish they would put a little twist on it so people would consider ordering it again. The salpicao was also just good enough to make one person full which is reasonable. I didn't get to taste it but the plate got empty so, I think the person who ate it liked it.
The Nutella was sweet, as it should be. It is what you would expect melted Nutella to taste like, full of hazelnut goodness with a bitter mix into it. The Coffee Affogato was served in a cute and small glass, coffee in the bottom and ice cream in the middle, topped with lots of coffee jelly. I would've preferred it without the jelly because I don't seem to enjoy gelatin nowadays but still, I think they used their very own gelato on it so I still enjoyed the whole thing.
Venue: Like I said on the title, Cafe Publico is a cafe away from the eye of the public. When I say public, I mean it's not located in a place where everyone strolling around the area can just see it and choose to eat here. However, they are still in a good location because it is near the cinemas. Only near, so you still have to walk a few steps but it's very easy to find. It also means that, it can be considered a private place to eat at because it’s not noisy outside despite the restaurant having no doors. The interior was gorgeous though, it is a good place to have a chikka with your chicas. The theme is like a garden inside a cafe, you can't help but take pictures. They even have a few board games like Pictionary available for you to play with. The server was patient with us and they're very willing to assist you with anything. The service was okay, not fast nor slow. We didn't wait that long for our food.
This place is very memorable cause aside from the fact that my boyfriend and I had our first date here (hihi), the gelato was heavenly. I am not a fan of dessert, especially ice cream, but when I do I almost always just order chocolate-flavored ice cream. I did and it was amazing. This place will always have a special place in my heart!
First time here. It is situated at the 2F near the Promenade Hall. The place is cozy and have a rustic feel to it. Maybe also because there’s a water fountain right at the dining area! Got the 3-cheese beef lasagna 325 and the Romana pizza panini 115.00, crispy goodness. Yea, famished! Haven’t had any lunch yet and it’s 1800h already! Both are indeed well recommended. Did i mention i got my meal at a discount? Yummm 😊😋🤫
Their Thai black iced tea (I'm not even sure if this is really it's name) is the bomb! Their pizza chips tasted plain potato chips but went perfectly with its sauce. Too bad i wasn't able to take a picture of their giant chess board! Definitely instagrammable! 😊
Got a chicken salpicao salad for lunch. Nice portein mix with veggies instead of the bad carbohydrates. Nice water containers. Place is nicely decorated in a gypsy artsy feel.
Before watching a movie. We had dinner at Cafe Publico. While waiting for our orders we played on their huge chessboard.
For our meals, we had:
Chicken Salpicao (Php290) the serving size wasn’t worth the price. It only had few pieces of chicken meat. Taste was it was good, I like the sauce.
Pork Tocino and Longganisa Platter (Php375) we didn’t realize it had 2 cups of rice. 😱 Rice overload. It was sulit for the price.

Tag: Their serious about their drinks concoctions!
Seated near the cinema area this cafe is indeed an attention catcher due to their "gelato" which I believe is made from scratch! Wide arrays of flavors you'll definitely find one that suits your taste!
The place is small mostly for movie take out but still it holds a cool and warm dining experience
Starting off
Churros! I loved it mini churros crispy outside and soft inside plus the luscious chocolate dip I would recommend it!
Chicken Salpicao one of their sellers is indeed a good rice bowl, savory not too salty plus the huge mushroom in the middle it's really filling!
Mushroom truffle pasta anything with truffle is great specially if not too much, with them it's quite enough truffle flavor that's creamy and tasty at the same time goes well with the mushroom and cheese flavor.
Panini pizza a different take on pizza well just fair what i liked about its is the crispiness and the twist
Truffle fries will be my favorite movie date snack really good
Explosion well it's lava cake with vanilla ice cream on top best with their cappuccino but I must say only sweet lovers would appreciate it quite sweet indeed.
Mango melon wow so refreshing specially if your exhausted this will bring your energy back! Genuine melon flavor
Thai Black iced tea one of my favorite twists done in a milk tea it's tea, milk, chocolate and coffee all in one woaah! Explosion of flavors nice one I must say!
Overall they are good for chit chat dining experience and even better as movie date snack!
This cafe is sooo pretty!!
The ambiance was really good. We went there on a saturday and it was not crowded at all. My friend got the fish and leek and was pretty good and i got the BBQ pulled pork mac n' cheese which was super yummy!! If you are a cheese lover, definety get this dish.. so cheesy and gooey :) we didn't get to try any of theri desserts or coffee but from what i can see of their selection its definitely worth trying!!
The only thing that made me give 4stars was that their service was a bit slow. Considering that there was only 1 constumer aside from us, would have been better if the service was quicker. But the staff were really friendly and everything was really good!
The place.. every corner is instagram worthy!! Will definitely come back! Especially to try their sweets and coffee :)
Their beautiful interiors could win your eyes and hearts. The place is well designed and a corner is dedicated for personalized dedications. Cafe Publico is located just beside the newest cinemas in Greenhills and they serve Italian mostly.
My friend and I got finger foods here before joining our kids from NGO, Little Lights to watch the latest Spiderman. Despite the prices being ridiculously high for its portion, we were okay with it. The Truffle Fries were generously seasoned with truffle oil and other spices, making it a hit among us and our seat mates. The Panini Meatball with nachos was also appetizing, its meat juicy and tasty in every bite. I liked the ample cheese in this order too.
If you are a fan of chess, they have one for your use while you wait. They are significantly bigger pieces than usual. Oh, this place also sells 12 Gelato flavors besides their Pour Over Coffee, a drip brewing method which involves pouring of water over roasted ground beans.
We went into an event near this cafe so we decided to eat there. We were a little shock to see the prices of the food though when we were given the menu after almost ten minutes of sitting there. They have 2 staff, I don't know if it's because of that that their service was slow but there aren't a lot of people. The place looks very pleasing. The food? Well, I can't deny it's good. I enjoyed it. But I really think it's a little pricey. The iced tea is very refreshing too, but it's for 100php! Lol.
Food was really great. Place was great too. Perfect for those people who love to post/document of what they are eating. Service was very efficient also. There are other things to do too to keep you busy while waiting for your food like board games etc.
The place was aesthetically pleasing so my friends and I went and try their food. We ordered the twister fries, meatballs in marinara and pizza panini. I personally liked the pasta and the sauce was okay. And the pizza panini we didn't appreciate it as much because i think because we ordered that has a kick of spicyness and the brewed hazelnut, i liked it but needs to be more sweetened, and my friends liked their coffee. Other than that there's none. Really love the ambiance and the crew was nice.
Was attracted to the aesthetically pleasing place while we were looking for dessert in greenhills. The place was very decorated and had boardgames and big chess games at the front of the resto. We decided to try the Mud Bath (P145) and Cafe Mocha (P155).
The mud bath was true to its presentation, a snow man like gelato in a mini-tub beside a hot fudge cup as it's bath. It was very delicious and the gelato was cheap for its price compared to other restaurants. The cafe mocha was a bit dissapointing as i could only taste half-hearted coffee and it lacked the mocha taste common to coffee shops.
The restaurant was gimick-y but with substance as seeing the other table's food looks delicious and prices are fairly cheap compared to other coffee shops. Will surely go back to try the others.
Food 3.5/5
Service 3.5/5
Ambiance 4/5
Price 4/5
I really like this place. It's quiet and away from the crowds of Greenhills. We only had dessert and enjoyed their Gelato and especially their churros. Place is nicely decorated and one can spend a lot of time with their board games.
Cafe Publico is a quirky place with interesting decor that begs to be photographed.
Their Mushroom and Truffle Cream is a must try, it is really rich, creamy, and loaded with truffle oil, but the breadsticks that go along with it is not the best fit. Their Pork Pot Roast is really soft and flavorful while their Fish in Leeks and Lemon is relatively bland and is something you should skip altogether. I don't get why they put three nachos on their rice dishes but it doesn't really work. The food has small serving sizes and is relatively pricy, and it's not really the most value for money in Greenhills.
The Gelato is relatively cheap at 210 for 3 flavors. I liked their Madagascar Vanilla Bean but their Pistachio was just too grainy. The gelato flavors change all the time and is one of the better gelato places in the area.
I would probably come back, but only to try their truffle fries, coffee and future gelato flavors.
I got attracted with Cafe Publico's gelato stand. However, I ended up falling in love with the cafe itself. For worth 105 pesos you can have a great cup of gelato. I am actually amazed of how they were able to curate Filipino flavors to such awesome gelato. I should go back for more.

Had a light merienda here ordering their churros and red velvet gelato. The churros was nice and crispy while the gelato was just so so. Great for those waiting for their movie as it is very near promenade's theaters
I ordered the Pork Pot Roast, Earl of Publico Iced Tea and Espresso Cortada Condensada. The pot roast was really good. The serving size is just right and I hoped they'd put more pork. For those who are really hungry, you may want to add another dish. The brewed iced tea was refreshing, better if they offered additional syrup. But what I really enjoyed was the espresso shot! It tasted like Vietnamese coffee, which has been my coffee of choice. The taste is not as strong as the one in Highlands Cafe (sadly now closed) but I'll definitely order it again.
It was never enough to compete in today’s food industry, what more if you find yourself in the middle of the ice cream and fro-yo frenzy?
No worries! Peter (owner of Cafe Publico) offers his gelato freshly-made every day! Plus, the fact that he makes Cafe Público’s cold treats from scratch is an advantage for his business since everything has to go under his watch. According to Peter, the best-sellers are Ferrero, Cafe Crunch and Chocolate Fudge. Everyday, they present different flavors just to shake things up a bit.
I was able to try cafe crunch, speculooos cookie butter, oreo, ferrero plus their caffe latte milkshake!
Now, if you don’t have a sweet tooth (or you haven’t discovered that you do), you can also try the their pastas or the savoury crisps and dips that they offer. May I recommend the Chicken Liver Paté with breadsticks that was offered to me for free!
Cafe Publico is located on the 2nd floor of the Promenade, Greenhills Shopping Center
My fave place for gelato and games!! HEAVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN! Definitely a must try! Staff are very welcoming, been here 2x already.
Stopped by here since we had 45 mins to kill before a movie. The restaurant is quaint and homely!
We ordered the chicken salpicao (just ordinary) and the beef lengua with salted duck egg panini (quite good).
The specialty of this place is its drinks. My partner had the red velvet shake. This was just superb -the tastiest shake we've had for a long time. It was really red velvet cake mixed into a shake. Amazing! I had the black velvet coffee which was chocolatey and nutty flavor. And a nice contraption to pour hot water over the roasted coffee beans. For drinks alone I'd give this place a 4.5
I go to this place all the time, absolutely love the interior of this place as it showcases so many various types or art. This cafe reeks of character and I love it, such a homey feel!
The food is also absolutely delish and obviously their coffee is a must try. Will now eat my Mushroom Truffle Pasta
tried their pistachio and ube flavors. they allow you to taste their gelato until you're embarrassed that you've tried everything. :p :) can't say it was the best gelato i've had but the service was good and the decors made for an interesting conversation starter.
I’ve never really heard of Cafe Publico (or maybe I have, but didn’t think much about it) until my sister suggested that we have dessert there today. The place was a quirky, cozy nook near the cinemas and served both savory and sweet treats. You could also play board games or read newspapers and magazines! We each had a cup of gelato - I had El Pili Ube Rismo, my sister had Peanut Butter Pretzel, my brother had Oreos n’ Cream, my mom had Cafe Crunch, and hubby had Speculoos. Hubby also ordered a Cappuccino (which you mix yourself!), and we all shared Churros Jenga with Dark Belgian Chocolate gelato.
Cafe Publico’s gelato is not as creamy as other gelato places I’ve tried. The texture is still smooth and the flavors are still spot on, though. I enjoyed my El Pili Ube Rismo (a play of words on the well-known Filipino novel, “El Filibusterismo”, but with the Pili Nut and Ube or purple yam flavors mixed in) which had the mild sweetness of purple yam and a bit of crunch from the pili nuts. The Churros Jenga was a stack of snack size, deep fried, crisp churros topped with gelato and whipped cream. The Dark Belgian Chocolate gelato was the perfect flavor for these churros as it had a deep bittersweet flavor…soooo good!
We always have ice cream here before going to the movies and we always have Robert Brownie Jr., Strawberries and cream, Cookie Dough, Red Velvet, or the salted duck egg ice cream. The flavors are pretty creative and the name of the ice creams are unique.
Good: the 3 cheese beef lasagna, mac and cheese casserole, mushroom and truffle cream, the lovely Gelato creations per season...need I go on?
Not so good: every time we're here we are about to catch a movie so we don't get to sit down and really take our time to eat. Nevertheless, still an awesome gastronomic experience. :-)
Good food. Great desserts. Gelatos are impeccable. A little pricey though for their serving size...and one of their waiters is a bit loud and annoying.
The staff are beyond friendly and their food is pretty good. Their coffees are pretty interesting, adding a scoop of gellato to coffee and their teas arent the typical. their tables extend to the outside of the cafe, they encourage the arts, posting some of their customers' artworks. And even have a chess table for anyone who would wants to play. My only issue is the repetitive songs and the amount of mosquitoes the tables outside the cafe have. That and they still don't have wifi.
We've been going to this place even before the most recent wing of GH Promenade opened. The place used to be a lot bigger, but don't worry the food and service remained devine. You'll be served by the owner if you chill here often enough. Its that personal service that I love about places like this.
Since its summer, I'd recommend you try out their iced refreshments. Last Labor Day, me and my girlfriend enjoyed the their Lava Cake and it was spongy! The good kind. Wash it down with their brazilian roast of beans. Perfect as an afternoon spot before your movies.
It first opened at Promenade, the side where Teriyaki Boy is located. The design of the place really stood out among all the resto lined up. It automatically gives you a comfortable vibe where you just want to spend your free time there. Now it is located at the new promenade, just beside the entrance of the movie house. They still have the large size chess boardgame that you can play. While playing you can eat their yummy ice cream that comes with an 'upgraded' kind of flavors. Check it out for yourself! Best time to go there is around late afternoon till night.
If you are up for something different aside from just eating, then this is good place to try. They have games that are really familiar unlike other places with games that ive never even heard off.
i think their foods/drinks are a bit pricey. The taste of their food is "okay" and serving size doesnt also give justice to the price. But overall, it was a nice experience and will most likely go back here for the other games ?
THEY HAVE A GIANT CHESS SET.
Okay, now that I've got your attention, they've got a giant chess set here and I think that's incentive enough to pay cafe publico a visit. As for the great food, ambience and comforting service, those are just bonuses.
I love coming back here, not only is the gelato amazing but their entrees are pretty good too. The pasta and meatballs and the chili con carne are my favorites. The meatballs do this thing where they melt in your mouth. I don't know about you but that's pretty bad ass. I'm dying to try the zeppole though but I'm never around when it is available. -le sigh- maybe someday. The people there are always nice, and the owner (I think that's him) is always around and engaging the customers. I remember once this lovely lady working there noticed I was sickly and gave me soup, and I'm a sucker for when beautiful people are considerate and compassionate. I think I forgot to mention they also have a huge chess set you can play while eating, among a myriad other boardgames.
Point in case, I love you Cafe Publico. Never change.
One of my fave go-to place whenever I'm in Greenhills! I love the interiors and the ambiance of this place, the staff are friendly and service was quick too.
After watching a movie, we decided to go here and have some dessert. We had the Grasshopper Pie (dirty mint ice cream, oreo pie crust and whipped cream), Churros, Affogato, Dirty Mint Ice Cream, and the Mud Pie... oh and a Meatball and Cheese Sandwich ????
To sum it all up I liked everything that we ordered, except for the Dirty Mint Ice Cream.. the taste was different from the first time I tried it. It doesn't taste like a real mint ice cream.. I was kinda disappointed with this cause I love mint ice cream... but good thing the Churros was awesome! And the Meatball and Cheese sandwich was surprisingly good too!
P.S. there is one new gelato flavor (i think?) And it's called "Always be my bibe" cause its white cheese and salted egg. I know, it may sound odd to put salted egg on your gelato but it's good! We liked it. ???? I suggest it to give it a try.
We stopped by Cafe Publico for dessert. We shared a medium cup of gelato with three flavors: Pastillas, Ovolmatine and Speculoos.
A medium cup is more than enough for two people and the taste of each flavor is very distinct.
You can actually hang in the resto and play the board games while enjoying the food.
The service is awesome! The owner is very friendly as well.
Cafe Publico has great ambiance. It makes you feel at home or like you're on a vacation. You can even play board games while waiting for your food, or while eating, of course.
I love the truffle pasta and the lasagna. And they also serve gelato!
Perfect for friends/family bonding, loved the place already and it's just my first time. While enjoying the food, you can too play with the board games they have. Suitable for group bondings. And the lava cake was so so good!!!

Too many pictures for this album? Its actually because its composed of our first and second visit to the place. Café Publico wasnt on Zomato back then, hence the numerous photos! :) We obviously liked its homie and relaxing feel we have visited the coffee shop twice in six months! :) I loved the Red Velvet cake in a shake! :)) Their menu is very well presented and planned, feels like we can go there everyday and order diffent flavor each time! :)
This was always one of my favorite gelato places. Recently, I went and found out that they no longer have my favorite Ferrero Crunch gelato. That was a big let down. :(
We were having lunch with a friend so it was the first time i ordered anything other than gelato. I ordered the Meatballs and Cheese sandwich (P280) which I shared with a friend because they said it was good for 2 people. Delish? Yes. Good for 2 people? No. I had half and it felt so bitin. For 280php, i would have expected more. (Looks big in the pic, but it's only a few bites.)
Me and my friends decided to taste test the gelato flavors while waiting for our orders. Of course, i was disappointed they no longer had my Ferrero Crunch, but I decided to try something else. i had a medium size coffee something, or was it something coffee or cafe. It was okay, reminded me of Coffee Crumble, though halfway through my cup I was no longer feeling my gelato. The dark chocolate was okay too.
The waitress at Cafe Publico was so nice though, she let us taste sooo many flavors because we couldn't decide on what to get.
As always, I still love the design of the restaurant, and the service is not bad. But I wish they'd upgrade or replace some of their board games.
If you're looking for a cool hangout this summer, definitely give Cafe Publico a go. The way they designed their interiors is so charming, you'll feel like staying the whole day. It's almost like a plaza indoors, with cafe tables and chairs, a giant chess set and long tables surrounded by windows with shutters and a big door that's supposedly the entrance to "Hotel Publico". There are board games you can borrow and play with while you dine and just relax. Cafe Publico serves up Pastas, sandwiches and Coffee. But the real draw to this cafe is its selection of almost 50 flavors of Gelato. With fun flavor names like Sophia Lauren (strawberry/ pistachio), Black Samurai (green tea with black sesame) and Toothpaste (peppermint) plus the classics like Vanilla and Dark Chocolate, you'll have a ball deciding which kind to pick. Also try their Affogato concoctions, a scoop of their gelato with espresso and other add-ons like coffee jelly and liquor, which I haven't seen anywhere else. Cafe Publico is a great place to stay nice and cool this scorching summer.
