Went here last monday to celebrate my aunt's birthday. Good food from appetizers, main dishes, and dessert. It's all good, only my concern are the waiters getting our plates even if the food is not yet consumed completely. Overall good. Quiet and peaceful location.👍👍
To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much since they serve mostly Filipino dishes plus the price per headcount was relatively cheap (at least comparing to other buffet restaurants). But to my surprise the food was actually great! The crew will always take your plate every time you leave the table, and I liked that they’re very responsive to requests. The buffet room was a bit cramped, specially when the house is fully booked but rest assured that the food inside always get restocked. Totally worth it.
The best buffet resto I've been so far. Food is superb...not salty nor bland. Cooked the way it should be. We are a party of 12 but squeezed in an area which is difficult to get in and out. But the menus are absolutely delish. Will definitely go back.
Opportunity to add toilet. Due to volume of crowd.
Celebrated all of the September celebrants birthdays here all in one place-- and it's my very first time eating at a restaurant like this. It's like a big ancestral house, and very spacious, made to a buffet resto!
Some of the mains include Beef Kaldereta, Sweet & Sour Shrimp, Lumpiang Shanghai, Chicken Pastel, Garlic Chicken, Bicol Express, Escabeche, Bistek Bangus, Chopseuy, Laing, Palabok and 2 Types of Paella. They also have a carving station plus a salad, bread, and dessert station! And can I just say that their Beef Kaldereta is just undeniably gooooood. For only 699 (weekend lunch rate), you can eat all of these all day long! Plus all of the dishes I've tasted are definitely incomparable to what I had on the previous buffets I've been too. Definitely worth the extra mile!
Yogurt ice cream, fruit juices
One of the best buffet restaurant in town. Filipino dishes cooked well. Nice place that's not overcrowded.
I went back to the buffet spread thrice. I remember dining at an expensive buffet restaurant and despite being full, I'm still looking for more. I realized that's because I'm not satisfied.
Not at Guevarra's. The food is well-cooked and really delicious. That satisfied me that I didn't have to look for more.
And the desserts! Yum! Other restaurants offering buffets leaves much to be desired when it comes to this department. Not at Guevarra's.
Everything here is sooo goood! The ambiance, the food, the friendly staffs and the Buffet is worth the price. We celebrated our Tatay's Birthday here and we really enjoy the food they served. It was literally fresh from the kitchen. Definitely will come back here again. The best buffet in town!~
Excellent choice for those looking for a good Filipino buffet. Good selections and reasonable price. The resturant gives off a really cozy vibe because it's dressed up like a traditional Filipino home.
Tip: The time we went there, they had an ongoing 5+1 promo. See photo for details.
Dined here for my mother's birthday and was pleasantly surprised with their offerings, for a non-hotel buffet. We loved their beef tapa, bagnet liempo, lechon belly, baby back ribs and kaldereta. I could have several plates of just these dishes and I'll still go home satisfied. They have a wide variety of desserts, but tastewise, they could do better.
Celebrated my hubby's birthday here 😍
They served a complimentary birthday cake and a song for my hubby. ❤️
This is really a fun and amazing place for families to hangout. ✔️
Like in my other reviews, when i go to buffets, my strategy is to go straight to their most premium food selection, in this case the carvings. Guevarra’s carvings DO not disappoint. The lechon was really crispy, the beef was good, and at just about php500ish, everything was well worth the price.
Also, ive always loved the old house ambience of the place
Our team visited the place for our quarterly engagement activity and we are not disappointed.
Table setting could be improved but the food and ambiance covers up for everything.
Dishes are innovative in a sense but they do not forget its classical roots. Great for family/group events and celebration.
They also offer cakes which is cheap and yum! Tried the calamansi brazo and i loved it.
Our family went here for a chill Saturday lunch, we had a hall reserved beforehand so it was great because the place can get crowded during peak hours.
Loved the food and the chill homey vibes of the place. Although it would be better if the dining area is not near the toilet, or it was separate because you could get a whiff of the toilet when it open and closes. Some people might find that a turn off and can lose their appetite.
Overall, it was great dining here, definitely family friendly.
We had our team lunch here. Place is good but a bit small for every room, Foods are awesome, when we got here their theme for the month was Bacolod Mascara Festival so got to taste some specialties from my home town. That's why it was so closed for my heart. Staffs are great as well as the service.
Awesome food and location. Everything is well-prepared and attention is really given to quality. I would have given this resto 5 stars if there is wider variety of seafood viands available.
Delicious filipino food at a very affordable price. If you’re into buffet of filipino dishes this is worth a try! Perfect place for any kind of celebration.
The place was quite crowded but it’s never an excuse for the staffs to not provide a good service for everyone. They were nice and very pleasant.
I really love the angus beef tapa. Babalik-balikan mo talaga! I was able to try all of the dishes. Yes! Hahahahaha I am that “takaw”, and lahat masarap walng tapon.
Comfort rooms were smaller than the usual and tends to become smelly. So I suggest to not seat near that area.
The place looks like an ancestral house so there’s a vintage vibe on it. You can get some beautiful shots after since there are lights and nice view outside. Parking space is available too.
I so LOVE THIS PLACE! Its cheaper than most buffets and yet the food is better than hotel quality. I asked Chef Laudico once “chef hindi ka ba nalulugi dito?” He just smiled and said his thanks for loving the food.
My future celebrations will be here, birthdays, anniversaries or just entertaining balikbayan friends. Mura na, sosyal pa and there is enough parking!
Great place, polite and courteous staff, good food, price is a bit up there but the experience did compensate for the pricing. Great ambiance. No negative feedback
We had a team dinner at this place last friday, i was not able to try everything (yes i’m that takaw) since i had my baby girl with me and i was seated in the corner + her high chair was on the way so i was only able to try some of their dishes BUT majority of those that I’ve tried were super delicious. Been getting good feedback from my team mates as well. Their pizza (all types), the seafood chopsuey, beef with mushroom sauce and the dry sinigang was to die for!! Ohh!! And the chowder soup was super yummy, my baby girl loved it as well. For dessert i enjoyed their banoffee shots and crema de fruta :) the puto bungbong and soft served vanilla and ube ice cream was mehhh. Menudo was kind of salty for my tastebuds. Ice tea was matabang. Will definitely come back to try more of their dishes :)
The buffet spread offered here may not be as wide as that of the others, but most of the food they serve naman is undeniably of good quality; especially for the carving station and main course. Walang tapon.
However, it's a different story for their appetizers, breads, and desserts. It would still depend on your taste though, but I honestly did not enjoy them as much.
For drinks, they do serve an unlimited serving of Pepsi products, lemon iced tea, and red tea.
Was it worth it? Hell yes. If you are looking for a good Filipino buffet around the metro, you cannot go wrong with Guevarra's.
Best place to hold any special occasion with family and/or friends. Serves some of the best selection of Filipino entrees and desserts! Situated inside an ancestral family home, the restaurant makes you feel at home.
Filled with delectable Filipino-Spanish cuisines in a relaxed setting in the middle of San Juan area. Their desserts are tiny bits of salvation.
Value for money! Super delicious angus beef tapa and kare kare, refreshing cucumber iced tea, great selections of dessert and appetizers. Will definitely dine here again soon :)
Consistently delicious filipino food at a reasonable price. Dishes served are on always point. Go there if you want to impress your foreign or balikbayan friends. Food will not disappoint. We especially love their lechon, kare-kare, dinuguan, angus beef tapa, maja and champorado! Comfort food for pinoys
Been here twice and will go back again! Excellent food, Good ambience. Staffs are helpful. With its price super sulit compare to sambo and vikings👍👌 S/O to Sir Chester for accomodating us
I recommend this restaurant to my family and friends. The food was great, price is super affordable and worth it talaga for food and also the ambience sobrang Filipino style. We came here to celebrate my mom's birthday. We will surely come back 😊 Its my 3rd time here in guevarra's
We had a Double celebration here last May (Mother's day + My Birthday).
Food choices were limited but everything tasted Great!! 🍗🍖🍕🥗🍰🍨
I just wish they'd add hot tea 🍵 and coffee ☕ in the buffet table so you can relax over a hot cup after stuffing yourself with so much food. 😂😂😂
Place was clean and had a homey feel to it plus
airconditioning was good despite the crowd.
Thanks Guevarra's! ❤️
One of the best buffet restaurant in Metro Manila!! Suprisingly, Chef Laudico Guevarra’s offers the cheapest among Vikings, Sambokojin and such. They serve dishes that are not usually present on a buffet. I loved the angus beef tapa!! 🤤 Actually, all of their dishes are really good. From main course to dessert. Be sure to reserve a table before going. This restaurant is usually jampacked.
Delicious Filipino savory and sweet dishes;
An ancestral place that radiates elegance;
Accommodating staff members;
It hits very close to home. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Food is really great with superb service and staff. I love their desserts! Must try: sisig, different varieties of lechon, pizza, callos. Everything that i tried was great. Walang tapon! 😊
One of us has a penchant for old Filipino-architecture so we really enjoyed that Guevarra’s was once someone’s home in the 20’s.
Highlights of our dinner were the Angus beef tapa and roast beef for the mains, and the Law’s squid for appetiser. We also loved their house blend iced tea.
The food was impressive! Definitely better than other filipino buffets I’ve tried. Some of the dishes I would recommend are the angus beef tapa, kare kare, the creamy salted egg sauce (loveee this) and a lot of other dishes that I cannot remember lol. The dessert station did not disappoint as well. You can make your own halo halo, try out their own version of filipino kakanin such as pichi pichi and palitaw or try their other dessert offerings . They also have an ice cream machine 🍦
Service was very good, the servers are always smiling and are always attentive. The place is reminiscent of old filipino ancestral houses and the overall feel of the place goes well with the tasty food selection.
Food was awesome! Especially the kare-kare and dinuguan! Friendly staff and cozy ambiance! I just wish they had sinigang and more seafood. You get more than what you paid for naman kaya ok naren. Level-up ang filipino dishes nila. Delicious talaga ❤️

Guevarra’s has been around for a while now but this is the first time we visited the place. A combination of both classic and modern style, the restaurant boasts the best of Filipino cuisine. The food was great and the ambiance was light. It makes you feel you are going through history in this restaurant. By the way, the servers were really accommodating. Surely, I will recommend this to my family and friends. Keep it up, guys!
If youre craving for classic filipino dishes, Guevarra's the place to be. I have been here countless of times, and their angus kare-kare and their grilled meat necer fails to satisfy my hunger for filipino food. I have issues though with their reserving a table on the the same day, most of the time youre not given one 'cause its 'always full." But when i did a last minute one, i was instantaneously accommodated. Weird. Their rate just right, more value for what you paid for actually. Spacious parking lot and an ambiance that gives you 1800 feels.
I just dined here with my family today. The food was amazing!!! The angus beef belly was to die for. It was tender and really tasty. The same goes for their boneless lechon belly and marinated angus tapa. That was the best tapa I've ever had. In terms of food choices, there are definitely less options in Guevarra's, but this is okay because almost all dishes were very good. I didn't like the seafood palabok that much, but evrerything else was cooked perfectly. Please do not leave without trying their banoffee shots😍😍😍

Been here a lot since it opened years ago. Now its the go to resto of the clan when we have folks from the states that misses old Filipino food. And the price doesn't break the bank too. Well trained staff make every visit even more pleasant. May I add that their tapa is one the best.
Food was excellent especially the savory dishes. The dinuguan with puto and kare-kare with bagoong were my favorites. Surprisingly, the desserts were ok as well. A lot of buffets have really bad desserts and this place is not one of them. The leche flan and maja blanca were the standouts for me. Selection is not as extensive compared to other more popular and more expensive buffets around the metro but that made them more focused on improving the quality of their dishes.
Overall, it was a treat dining at Guevarra's which evokes the feeling of attending a handaan at your lolo or lola's house. I guess the rustic vibe of the old but well-maintained house and the welcoming staff attributed to that. My only gripe is the space in between tables is really small which made it challenging each time I had to get up. Good thing the person seated behind me was considerate and adjusts her seat each time I need to get more food. The place was packed when we went there on a Saturday so it's highly suggested for you to make a reservation to avoid the long wait.

Ancestral Filipino Buffet
Product: Guevarra's by Chef Laudico Guevarra, Filipino buffet haven for us foodies. You will find yourself in a place with your favorite homecooked dishes reinvented and leveled up to a whole new level. They provide all these amazing dishes for you and your companions to enjoy at an affordable price. A lot of celebrities have also visited the place and once you eat here, you'll understand why people make the time just to eat here.
Let's start with the appetizer station, I got to taste their pumpkin soup which was sweet and creamy and indeed very appetizing. It goes perfectly with their bread, you can heat up on an open oven in the station. NOTE: Don't heat the ensaymada. Just enjoy it as it is, the bread is so soft and chewy so you'll love it that way anyway. There are also salads, and finger foods like lumpia and deep-fried sweet potato.
For their mains, the one that stood out to me was the Lechon (ofc, that's what they're famous for), the meat was soooo tender. Chewing it is no hard work at all. With or without the lechon sauce, it's bursting with so many flavors. Without the sauce, the herbs and spices stand out and with the sauce, the liver taste stands out. I also really loved their Beef Tapa. It was crunchy and kind of tough but it’s manageable. It's savory and has only a hint of sweetness. What I loved about it was that I didn't need my trusty ol' vinegar to enjoy it even more. Oh, and also the seafood? SUPERB. The shrimp wasn't overcooked at all! I just had to say that because imagine how tough it is to cook the food perfectly at a buffet?
The desserts here were so much better compared to the expensive buffet restaurants out there. You will actually look forward to saving room in your tummy for it. At first, I was disappointed because the red velvet cupcake didn't have cream cheese but wow, even without it the cupcake was already good. It's rare for me to like red velvet without cream cheese so it's worth a praise. I also really enjoyed the Tablea Champorado, it wasn't too bitter so thank goodness for that. There's also a soft serve ice cream station, you get to swerve your own ice cream. I was so lucky that the flavor they provided that day was ube.
Also, make sure to try their house-blended iced tea. You will love it. It's not just powdered ice tea.
Venue: Guevarra's is located at P. Guevarra St. which was named after Pedro Guevarra, a Filipino Soldier, and lawyer who you have to thank for the Tydings-McDuffie Law. Anyway, everyone who is eyeing to visit the restaurant must also be aware that it is a renovated ancestral house, there are so many vintage feelings that this place will make you feel. The garden outside looks so beautiful, they even provide lots of photoshoot areas for you to go crazy on. Especially at night, oh man. It's so magical that you'll even find yourself wondering if your wedding reception could take place here. Well, it can!! You can even get married here if you really want to.
Guevarra's is very hard to reach via public transportation, I live so close by and I go to Greenhills every week but I almost never pass by the place. But guess what? It doesn't matter. A lot of people still go out of their way just to come here. I highly recommend that you call and reserve a table for you and your companions. We went here on a Monday but they were still fully booked. There are people who had to wait outside and take a chance on getting a seat in case any of the people who reserved a table didn't show up.
With everything I had at Guevarra's, I would like to commend them for putting so much effort into cooking the food and making it so delicious. I felt some homemade heart cooked into the food I was eating.
P.S.: my photos aren't of high quality cause I didn't have a personal phone at that time. I will improve it once I paid a second visit.
Food is great :) One of the best places to celebrate special occassions with family and friends. Interiors are beautiful and well maintained. Staff are friendly and very helpful, keep up the good work.
The best filipino buffet for me.😊 They were able to make simple filipino dishes extra special, and it’s worth the price.😊
The place, is very homey, and ideal for simple family gatherings. Just make sure you made early reservations because the were always fully booked.😉
The best filipino restaurant i've tried so far. I love their Kare-Kare and Buco pandan! Value for money is very good. The place is very spacious and relaxing. 🖒🖒
A 4.5 for me because I was really hooked to their meat selection. I was expecting the thick cuts to be bland at some point but the taste was consistent all throughout. Small buffet area so not much to choose from. Although I could honestly say they could make you proud with how they cooked our Filipino dishes. ❤️
Nice place and ambience. God food and service. Eventhough it is somewhat hard to go to this place for a commoner, I will definitely go back here.
The powerful kitchen couple, Chef Laudico and wife, Jackie collaborated mid this year with La Germania kitchen appliances. I was there to witness this wonderful merger, and was fortunate to win an oven as well.
That was my second stop in this go to place in San Juan. And this time they didn’t serve their usual buffet spread, but rather plated dishes designed for this event. Some of what we had, however, can be spotted in bits and pieces on your future visits here.
On this La Germania event, we were served Filipino favorites, done with a modern twist. This special gastronomic day started of with three spoonfuls of appetizers, The Crispy Sisig Basket, Kinilaw na Tuna and Palabok Wrap. The creativity displayed in these starters were impressive, and I loved the creativity and taste the most from the crunchy palabok.
For Soup we had a taste of home with Chef Lau’s Pork Sinigang with Taro Puree wrapped in Pechay. This bowl was both soothing and enjoyable, I liked how the taro added thickness and sweetness to our Filipino favorite.
On a healthier side, we were served a refreshing and color-filled Three kinds of Mango Salsa with Mesclun Green drizzled with dijon bagoong vinaigrette topped with Garlic Shrimps. This was a cool synergy of our local cuisine and that of French.
For a more sophisticated touch, they served us Kare Kare with tender and juicy, US Angus Beef. Beside it is well-seasoned Grilled Gindara served with filling Paella Rice.
Wife, Chef Jackie, a well known pastry chef concocted a wonderful set of Suman Panna Cotta Rice Cake with Latik and Fresh Mangoes for our dessert. This was undeniably delectable and addicting and so I am hoping they will serve this on their regular buffet.
Most of what we had that day was done in front of us as well, making this whole dining experience with Guevarra’s and La Germania extra memorable. Isn’t it amazing to learn how to curate good food and have it too?
Pros:
Food is really good and showcases the Filipino taste well. It's also reasonably priced. The service is excellent from the reception giving out snacks to those waiting in line all the way to the refilling of food in the buffet area.
Cons:
The wait is quite long. We only got seated after nearly 2 hours. That is, of course, because we only walked in. Reservations are available but are limited so make sure to call in at least 24 hours prior.
The best Filipino buffet experience I have ever had. The food is really good and the price is not expensive considering the sumptuous spread they have. My friend and I only reserved seats an hour before we arrived to the place and luckily we were accommodated right away.
I am a fan of restaurants that offers filipino dishes that's why I highly recommend The Guevarra's by Chef Lau. The place will let you experienced the life of Old Manila, just imagine the old houses that was built on early 60's where it was all woods, the stairs are actually on the center front of a white house. The front area and the large garden is also a best place where you can take your selfies because it has a good lighting. Once you entered the place the staffs will give you a warm greetings to make you feel at home. The Guevarra's offers a wide variety of Filipino dishes, from pork, beef, vegatables, seafoods down to their drinks. The decorations on their walls are extraordinary because they put hundreds of plates with the signatures of every customers that they've had and most of them are celebrities and politicians and that is a good proof that the place is recommendable.
I've visited the place for a number of occasions and for different reasons. In all of those, the place always felt the same to me - homey. Although quite limited, the food was mostly delectable and delish. Just skip the lechon or you'd be disappointed with its bland taste.
we had dinner to celebrate my Dad's birthday.. i didn't mention that during the reservation.. we were thinking they might notice it when I gave my dad's Senior Citizen ID Card but it turned out the other way..
Anyway... I love the place, the ancestral house and the chandeliers.. the food wasn't amazing at all. But with 588.88 for dinner, its kinda worth it rather than eating in Cabalen or Kamay Kainan.. ill recommend this to my relatives who lived abroad because they miss filipino foods and requesting eveytime to eat at a Filipino Restuarant when they are home for vacation..
It is my first time here and yes, i will definitely go back but that will be not too soon..
A place perfect to take your Balikbayan friends or even foreigners to try Filipino food! Their Angus Beef Kare-Kare is a must-try. The meat melts in your mouth and the sauce is peanut-ty delicious! I also love their Bacon Bagnet! Ever heard of that? Two of my favorites in one dish! It is crispy and savory. For the desserts, I love the biscocho and their leche flan. So if you want an all Filipino buffet then do visit! Read more on my post to know what other dishes they offer, there's many actually!
Filipino food is the highlight in this converted house and it’s done well. From appetizers to drinks and desserts, Chef Laudico has created an experience diners will want to keep coming back to.
Guevarra’s is located at a large lot at one of San Juan’s narrow streets at Little Baguio, making parking a breeze. There’s a large garden where children can run around, guests can take their selfies and lounge around while they wait their turn dining indoors.
The buffet is mostly made up of classic and reimagined Filipino food. Among the favorites there are the dinuguan, diningding (and as an Ilocana, I must protest this spelling!), pochero (the Cebuano style plain beef soup, not the Tagalog stew with tomatoes and tomato sauce), shrimps, crabs, lechon, sisig and many more. The kare-kare is a standout with the crunchy vegetables and tender tripe and beef. I also love that the drinks are unlimited - they have sodas, juice and gulaman! I went with the Pinoy theme and got the gulaman.
The desserts, unfortunately, are not very remarkable and feel like an afterthought. The different rice cakes are a nice touch though - bibingka, sapin-sapin, etc. There are a few mini muffins but they only stood out because they were a weird combination of bland cake and cloyingly sweet icing.
Still, it’s value for money and I will be back - but maybe after a reasonable length of time.
Sooo love the place! 👍 feels like home... Must try: belly lechon; tapa; callos; tuyo rice... etc... 😂 😋 worth the price! I hope for more special promos/discounts for bdays, anniversaries etc... 😉
I am not a fan of Pinoy food, but I would definitely recommend Guevarra’s. I booked a table via Zomato and they immediately catered to us as soon as we arrived there. For the food, they have lots of selection for dessert, main dishes, cold cuts, bread and drinks. I wasn’t able to try all of it, but the ones I tried reached the standards that I have set. Also, the setting of the place made it homey. They also accept reservation for large groups which is very convenient. Thumbs up! 👍🏻

The food choices are quite few given the price, I am expecting more food choices however the food taste good.
I think it is too pricey given the food choices.
Very good food, and the customer service is top-notch. Everyone should try their Callos and Kare-Kare. The best Kare-kare you're going to taste. The place and ambiance, albeit full of people, is awesome.
Went here for a family dinner and it was lovely. We were a big group and our area was quite cooped but it’s understandable as the whole restaurant is set in an old Pinoy style house so the space is limited and kind of private. Really nice for an intimate and quiet time with loved ones. The food buffet was delicious. Mostly Filipino dishes which my family likes. Since the place is small but very well known, a queue may form in the buffet area. Nevertheless, our experience was wonderful. The yard outside is also mesmerizing at night with all the pretty lights on. Perfect for taking those mandatory fam-bam pictures. Would like to comeback soon.
Highly recommended to anyone!
Actually the time that I was here was a very long time ago when I was in my college days I think it was around 2015, we when here for our culminating activity or what not and it was simply amazing that I had to make a review about this, apologies coz it took so long to write a review about Guevarra’s, you’ll see that even though it was 2 years ago Guevarra’s never left my mind. Kudos to all the staffs! Absolutely adore the food, cannot wait to come here again!

Warm greetings upon entering the vicinity. Cool service, very filipino. All the food is deli specially the bacon bagnet which taste like chicharon. 😂
Everything was perfect! The experience was overwhelming. The food was fantabulous, the ambiance was very relaxing, the crew was very accommodating and there wasn't a problem at all with parking, not to mention its' accessibility to main roads. Just make sure that you come earlier than scheduled/reserved because there's a lot waiting to be seated. We will see you again soon! :)
This is our go-to place for family celebrations. The meat section is one of the best and most flavorful. Its condiments even offer more than just one type. It is a cozy, all-Filipino resto hidden in San Juan.
At first, I was skeptical and hesitant to try this because of how affordable the price is.( Lunch was priced at 447php). But since I've been hearing good reviews about this place, I convinced my self to try it and finally did. I tagged by foodie bestie with me since I'm sure she's up for it. BTW, We made sure to book a table since I've heard it could be pretty hard to just walk in and dine. Anyways, we sat near the buffet set up and was the first one on the line. Surprisingly, we were overwhelmed by how many choices were there. Among the food, I personally loved the roast angus beef with estofado sauce and crispy pork which looked like bacon. I also drooled over their kare kare, the tenderness of the beef really mattered. The crispy crablet is best paired with spicy coconut vinegar, I loved the callos too. Moving on, the desserts were good as well, the rhum ball, suman panacotta and carrot cake are a must try. They also have wide variety of beverage like sodas, iced tea, milk tea, sago gulaman but the buko pandan stole my heart. Overall, for less than 500php, this is worth your money.
My hubby, kids and I loves the Angus beef, Kare Kare, Paella, Crabs, Pusit and Shrimps. 🍴❤
Kids loves the crinkles and leche flan ❤
We'll come back here with our fambam soon.
Me and my family just love this buffet resto. Highly recommended. The ambiance is very nice which will make you feel at home. They offer wide variety of filipino dishes, their kare-kare is a must try! I would suggest to have a reservation because tables are always full. Will never get tired of going back here. Thank you for the good food and service.
Went here on a Saturday during lunch hours. We arrived at around 11 and were seated immediately. First thing I looked for was coffee but unfortunately, it is not included in the buffet. A separate order will cost you P25, which is not bad.
Decent selection of Filipino food. Notable ones were the beef tapa (this was really really good), angus beef (do not, I repeat, do not leave this place without trying this), grilled squid, shrimp cooked in garlic butter I think, and the crispy bacon bagnet (huhuhuhu). I also liked their tokwa't baboy and ensaladang talong. For the desserts, musts are the champorado, buko pandan, and maja blanca. There is also a halo-halo and ice cream station.
Staff was approachable and friendly. It was a great dining experience overall. I would probably bring my family here next time.
The place looks like an old style filipino house. The place has great vibes and refreshing.
All filipino cuisine.
Great service and accommodating!
Greeted by courteous staff. Ambiance really nice. Not so crowded when we went here.. This is Friday night btw. Food gets refilled on time. Most of the food are good. Special shout out to pumpkin soup, beef tapa and hilabos na hipon. Its sugpo. Bigger than usual. Lots of Good food choices making the price sulit. Angus beef really tender. Desserts are plenty to chose from. Plus drinks included. Had a really good time.
This buffet exceeded my expectations. I already heard good things from relatives (I do not trust all reviews online) and I must say that this was worth every cent we paid. Some choices were forgettable, but none of them were bad. My particular favorites were the beef kare-kare and the champorado from the dessert bar! Unlike other restaurants that advertise beef kare-kare and give you two pieces of beef and 10 pcs of tripe, Guevarra's was very generous with their ingredients and obviously have high regard for quality and fulfilling the promise of serving authentic homemade Filipino food. Definitely coming back to celebrate special occasions with loved ones here. Kudos to Chef Lau!
Tried this for lunch on Ninoy Aquino Day.
The Ambience
Home-y, Filipino vibe. Quite noisy because of the packed place. Long lines at 11:30AM, but dies down come 12:30PM. Only one restroom; not too friendly especially with the number of people.
The Food
Great selection of food with minor comments.
Pork Dumplings - not too full with meat compared to kangkong dumpling. quite flour-y, taste of meat not highlighted because the taste of the flour is apparent.
Kamote Balls - mashed inside with some chunky bits. Cheese just right, doesn't overpower the taste of the kamote.
Cheese Pizza - nothing special; typical pizza like in fast food pizzas.
Lumpiang Shanghai - flavor of meat not at all different from pork dumpling. Crunchy wrapper, well-fried.
Seafood Palabok - too soft/gooey. Seafood-nees not apparent. it being cold does not help either. Serving plate is deep, so toppings get mixed at the bottom which makes it not well-distributed (thus, the bilao. It's not deep, so every portion of the palabok has toppings.
Karekare - peanut butter sauce very apparent, but not inside the meat; sauce-dependent.
Steamed fish in ginger soy - perfectly mild sweetness, with a hint of spice from the pepper. melts in your mouth, no need to chew.
Lechon - meat is tender and savory even without the sauce. Skin is hard to cut, but crunchy when chewing.
Bagnet - not too flavorful. Crunchy, but it was dry with no flavor.
Chicken aloha - spicy skin, not too much in the meat but it has flavor also. Because the dish is mostly wings, not too much meat, spiciness will really hit. Pineapple not too apparent.
Shrimp - not all fresh; some hard to peel. Flavor is great, though. After peeling then dipped in the sauce, makes a great viand.
Carrot Cake - small serving is perfect. Firm; not too sweet.
Ice Cream - chocolate flavor was great! It tasted like the rocky road of some expensive ice cream brand. Vanilla was okay; not too sweet as you'd expect vanilla ice cream to be. Both flavors were really creamy. Quite milkshake-like (which I like).
Red Iced Tea - nothing special
Milk Tea - the tea flavor was not overpowered by the milk; milk was actually only apparent because of the creaminess.
The Staff
Some of the staff were really friendly. Some would even suggest angles for taking pictures. Because of the huge number of customers, some would come back to you after some time, but rest assured that they will.
A lot of choices to choose from starters to main dishes and desserts. Its fully booked at all times so Reserve a week before

Good food "sulit"
I love the food. The staffs were approachable. The ambience was not too good because the old ladies beside our table were so noisy but over all its a good experience and we will definitely comeback. ❤❤
I like the food especially the Angus Beef and lot more amazing. However, it is hard to get there you need a lot of patience.
I highly recommend this to you.
Owned by a celebrity chef? Why not... The place was surprisingly old Manila. Typical of the old houses in San Juan. On entry the place was packed... On a Monday! It reminded me of the old resto the the same area "Cafe ysabel". The food is modern and traditional pinoy with some twists. I loved the offering of American meats though. The black Angus brisket just melts in your mouth.... Sooo good. The guvarra's tapa was awesome too! Uou guys have to swing by... Come early though.. Parking is horrific..
Best Filipino food I've had by far.
Angus tapa was so good holy crap.
That TAPA WAS SO GREAT I MADE THAT "uuuUUUUGGGGHHHASDFGHJKL" FACE TO MY MOM.
The shrimp was juicy and plump and how did u guys evenly cook the shrimp??? Like most restaurants f it up by like having one or two shrimps get overcooked but not u guys! I had like 12 pieces and they were all cooked to perfection omg.
Crispy bacon bagnet. Wtf. Omg my heart.
And I thought you'd f up the milk tea. But you didnt. YOU DIDNT AND IT WAS SO FREAKING GOOD WTF MILK TEA NA LANG EH BAKIT ANG SARAP PA NYA.
And omg, if anyone has ever been to Pricemart when they were young – it's basically like Costco bef, or like an earlier version of SnR. Anyway, so I would go there with my parentals when I was young and the only reason I went there was for the ice cream (which they called yoghurt). So when they closed it down I was shookt. I loved their ice cream. Cut to the early years of SnR, I was hopeful. Same look and feel as Costco and Pricemart, diff name. I thought "omg they're bringing back the ice cream!" But they didn't.
Anyway, I got a dollop of ice cream from their machine and gave it to my mom. Had a taste of it.
And I shit you not.
It's the same. Effing. Ice cream.
I have been looking for that ice cream for almost two decades now. I almost cried while eating ice cream wtf. You don't understand how happy you all made me feel knowing that my fave ice cream that I've been searching for was just there. Omg.
I'm def going back.
And your staff. They're the nicest, kindest bunch of people. Their patience is commendable. 10/10 would give them a raise.
This place is so fab. Let's start with the feel of the place which was so fitting to what it offers. It has a laid back, cozy, filipino home feels which really complements the food it serves. It would make you feel you're just at home eating some fancy food.
Then we have the food. Every corner of the buffet offers something exceptional. I personally enjoyed the carvings section particularly their angus beef! Dessert was delish as well and you can even make your own soft serve which was a plus for me considering this level of buffet.
Lastly, the service! It was cool. Everyone behind the counter was smiling and greeting while we attacked the buffet area.
Overall it was a nice experience and i'm really generous so it is a 5.
Great food. It's a variety, too many food choices. We dine as a group so we had our reservation. The place is also nice. Recommended. 😁😁😁😁
Third favorite buffet on my list. Every dish is cooked flawlessly. I didnt have the chance to taste all of the dishes because there are really a lot of choices and almost everything is really delicious. Every food i put in my mouth i utter "ang sarap". The catch is, if youre a dessert person you wouldnt really enjoy some of their dessert. But the food is still worth it. This place is perfect for family dinners. You can only dine if you book a reservation. Totally recommendable restaurant. I wasnt able to take photos of the food because i was quite excited to jump in on my plate. The ambiance also homey and very Filipino.
Been here mga 3 times already . Foods good! I think sulit naman sya. As you can see, first plate pa lang, full load na agad . I wish to go back here again
We were able to celebrate my son's birthday here, yesterday. The place has definitely an astounding ambiance and relaxing aura.I felt like I wasn't eating in Metro Manila. Each menu has its unique blend compared to other buffets. In fact, this is the only buffet wherein my sons were able to eat a lot. With other buffets, they were just strolling around and were not eating enough.😊I got plenty of their crunchy fried squids dipped in spicy vinegar. My sons ate a lot of their chicken barbeque, noodles and pizzas,my husband's cravings for seafoods has been fulfilled and their desserts taste way better compared to other buffet restaurants we've been through.Customer service were ok,but we quite waited for more than 30 minutes before one of the waiters initially served the pitcher of water on our table.Quality over quantity and real value for money.👍😊Almost perfect!👍This is the highest rating I made so far..👍👍👍👍👍I just regret that my family and I weren't able to celebrate Mother's Day and Father's day 2017 in this restau because the time I called them for reservation, they're already fully booked.Early booking is a must for this place.😊
Food is good. I personally love their meat section and the kare-kare.. they are also generous in refilling unlike other buffets. Desserts are not much.
Ambiance is ok, seats and tables are comfy and gives your enough space to pass tru and ventilation is enough even if the place is full. They also have enough parking slot to accomodate guest, if not, you can park on side streets and they have brgy reps making sure cars are safe.
I recommend you reserve ahead as they are always full especially during special days and weekends.

THE BEST PLACE EVER!!!! The service was amazing. This is the kind of buffet I enjoy since I am not overwhelmed with the selection. Plus, they have the best dessert buffet after vikings! Overall, the price is what really takes it-- its very cheap for the experience you have with the ambiance and general taste of the food.
I love how they cook their food without MSG and still tastes good! Affordable yet they serve quality food. I like the old house concept. Just lacks food choices. My whole experience is good still!
We ate here during my Mom's birthday as per her request. She ate here when our family friend invited my parents for a birthday celebration. According to my Mom, the food is great.
I reserved a seat for 5pax because I came to know that this restaurant is usully fully booked. I have mentioned to the receptionist that we will be celebrating a special occassion so in case they have something, like a free slice of cake for my Mom and a birthday song, but she said they don't have any of that.
Upon arriving, the place is a house turned into restaurant, so there is a limited parking space. They have a small garden, good for picture -taking. The place ais almost full of people, most were also celebrating birthdays, found out that they give free dessert and sings a birthday song contrary on what the receptionist said.
The food were mostly Filipino, they have Kare-kare, Lechon, Dinuguan etc. Even desserts were consists of kakanins, leche flan, halo-halo and many more. They have variety of drinks as well Milk Tea, Soft drinks and Iced Tea.
All in all their food was great! Not much variety since they focused on Filipino cuisine. The porkchop was super crunchy, so as the Lechon. They also have Angus beef, which is also good. I liked their Paella. With desserts, i loved their leche flan, Carrot cake and Buko Pandan. Minus point with their Ice Cream Maker because it was under maintainance. We easily got full but definitely got our money's worth.
Mind you, I'm not a picky eater. I'm no food expert nor a food junkie. I don't go around the Metro just to check out the newest restaurant in town. I just love food; great food, that is.
My experience at Guevarra's was intimate. From the food, to the atmosphere and up/down to the service; they were all close to home. I guess, that's the intent of the restaurant, really. And they hit me right at my stomach.
The concept, I think, is conventionalism with a twist. The food choices were modified traditionalism. It is also evident in the lyrics whenever the crew sings its greeting to the birthday celebrator. And the feel of modernism with antiquity that is present in that quaint place, Guevarra's played on minimalism and it played on my personal taste right on the money.
As soon as we left the place, the first thing I thought was, "I'm going to bring my mother here one of these days." Not only that, I shall recommend Guevarra's to my friends. Bottom line, I will return.
