You will discover a lot of new finds here! They have fresh vegetables, Chinese canned meat, vegetables, try thier Canned Pork Pata best with bihon. They have maki and other chinese viands. Our favorite is the Little Store Lumpia! It’s a vegetable lumpia with crushed peanuts and the sauce is so good! One piece is a meal in itself! #musttry
I used to not eat lumpia until I had one here. My friend who’s a foodie took me here. I had soya drink and the meat less lumpia cos I can’t eat pork.
It’s the lumpia that sets the difference. All other food items are the same as those other chinese restos. Don’t expect much of an ambiance. Its very down to earth. Items are expensive though. The grocery items I mean.
My friends and I have been going back to the Little Store over and over again to shop for products that are never easy to find anywhere else: wintermelon tea (blocks that you have to boil), diff. kinds of mushroom, silky tofu, granola (theirs are way cheaper compared with SM products), mirin, sake, among many, many others. However, it was only today that we got the chance to sit down and eat on the store. We have previously ordered their fresh lumpia, shrimp relleno, and kikiam to go and here's my personal verdict:
Fresh lumpia: 5/5 (only if you like the leafy-taste of fresh coriander)
Shrimp relleno: 2/5
Kikiam: 4/5 (I still prefer the Binondo kikiam).
Today we got their congee (plain), cured duck, and century egg.
Congee: 5/5 (no taste at all; you are left to put the seasonings on your food i.e. a winner for me; there are flavored options though: beef, chicken, etc.)
Cured duck: 5/5!! (such a huge hit for us)
Century egg: (the usual, though I hope they sliced it thinly rather than put two halves on a plate).
I look forward to trying the other foods on their menu. I'm sure, we're going back to the Little Store many, many times next year!
This is always our go-to place for affordable Chinese comfort food ❤️ I love the fact they also sell frozen dumplings which you can bring home and steam it yourself for those midnight cravings 😉
The simple little store and diner at the heart of Little Baguio, San Juan. They offer Asian cuisine and sell different food products and delicassen.😊
Nice little restaurant when you get hungry while shopping for in Gilmore.
Meals are less than 100 pesos.
Order their fresh lumpia with seaweed. One of the best fresh lumpias that I've tried.
Skip their 50/50. It's rice with chicken, kikiam and egg. The taste is average.
I super love their fresh Chinese lumpia rolls (egg rolls) with fresh coriander and Seaweed wrap (optional). It goes well with the garlic and sauce. Good for sharing, and reasonably priced too. I highly recommend it to anyone. Half of the lumpia will surely make your tummies full. So make sure that when you order, ask them to cut the lumpia rolls in half so you can eat half of it and take the other one home. Their Chinese quikiam also tastes good. There are lots of dishes for you to try here. Definitely worth your trip.
I ate at their branch in gilmore. I've eaten on this place a couple of times and always ordered their fresh Lumpia. Its still the same formulation ever since. Rate their lumpia 4.5
Since i am quite hungry, i decided to eat their 50/50 rice toppings. Its soy chicken with kikiam. The taste is good (rating: 3.7) the portions is just enough if your not that hungry or taking other food on their menu (rating: 3.8)
I also tried their wanton noodles. This one is great in taste and it was served quite hot so it tastes even better (rating: 4.6) the portions is about merienda size (rating: 4.0)
Service: quite disappointed with it.. they need to improve it (rating: 2.5)
Little Store is a cozy little Chinese resto with a grocery store that sells Asian goodies.
It's quite a gem actually. You just select the food from the display then they'll heat it then serve in small bowls. The simplicity of its presentation makes it even more appetizing. It's budget friendly too. I love their Chinese lumpia the most.
Another hidden gem in San Juan. I walk here when I'm craving for a snack and Eat Fresh isn't open hahaha.
It's a little store (obviously from the name) that sells asian goodies. It's kind of like a small grocery - they even sell fresh items. But! They also have snacks that are ready to eat. I love their siomai and fresh lumpia!
I usually get my food to-go (takeout) because it can get crowded. My familia and I also buy asian spices here, mostly out of convenience. This store is walking distance from our house. It makes for good exercise hahahaha
Little Store is an asian store that sells grocery items and ready to eat food as well. The grocery area is quite crowded but they have a variety of items from fresh vegetables to imported asian snacks. At the end of the store is the kitchen and at the front of the kitchen is a food counter where you can choose the ready to eat food that you want to takeout or eat there. On the right side of the store (when coming in), seperated from the grocery area is the dining area with about 5-6 tables.
Among the food you can choose from at the food counter is the fresh chinese lumpia! This is very popular as a healthy snack or as a supplement to a normal meal.
Another extra thing they do is they can supply you a daily ration of food for a certain price including delivery! You can order for just one day (maybe when the cook is on a day off) or for a whole week.
Little Store has been around at this location since forever and is a go to place for home cooked ready to eat food. When I found out they weren’t in Zomato, I immediately suggested the place via the feedback process. Yehey! first review!
