We tried two of their cakes since we used Zomato Gold! Loved the parmesan cheesecake because it was surprisingly not too sweet. The chocolate chip cookie cheesecake was good too but a little bit too sweet for my liking. 😊 Would recommend!

Best cake and pasta ive had in a long long time. The creamy chicken pasta is so rich with flavor and texturw and the bb chocolate cake (?) handsdown amazing. I'm not fond of super sweet cakes and though this cake was quite sweet ir just perfect because of the balancing of the heavy sweetness with the light n sharp cream cheese

It all started with a comment on an Instagram post on why I should be in their Food Tasting event. And just like that, I was in! Thanks to Chef Wado, I got to try the sweet offerings of Wadough's, a cute little bakeshop in Maginhawa— a street known for quaint little restaurants and bakeshops.

We were served various sweets that for their new Christmas menu, most of which highlighted Chef's new plaything: Amarena. It's a black cherry that's sweet with a slight alcoholic taste, fresh from Italy— one you may commonly find in a bona fide Black Forest cake. And to get a better idea of how it's the legit stuff, you should definitely get their Ultimate Forest Cake. It's got an Amarena jam on top and pieces of this black cherry in between layers of moist chocolate cake.

Other highlights from the Food Tasting funfare include their Black Bottom series, a moist and rich chocolate cake that made them famous. Their Black Bottom Mousse is a delightful affair with a cream cheese layer in between that resembles whipped cream, while the Black Bottom Amarena is a sinful cupcake that features bits of black cherry inside, and one piece of the fruit (topped with a gold flake to make things classy) on top of decadent chocolate frosting.

The Cookie Dough Cheesecake is a must-have for cookie lovers, while the milk tea fans can enjoy their Muscovado Pearl Latte, a brown sugar milk drink. I personally like the Cucumber Rose Tea though. It's refreshing, colorful and floral— with bites of jelly in every sip. And finally, the Spicy Chocolate Crinkles— seemingly innocent but actually devilish little bites with it a gooey chocolate center that has a touch of heat.

Thanks for having me! ❤️

mucho thanks ng over over wadoughs for picking me to be one of your food tasters, as we had first dibs on your ‘soon-to-be-released’ holiday menu - like x10 un joy ko, kasi i rarely win in raffles. tapos, sheeeeet, i got in! lolz.

surprising, adroit and bold are some of the words i can think of to describe what Chef Wado rustled up for us. can’t wait for y’all to tuck into their treats. ho, ho, ho!

10 offerings were served to us and each were different and daring too. started w/ their best-seller black bottom cupcake that was amped by chef wado adding amarena in and on top of it (amarena is a black cherry from italy originally used as em cherries for the black forest cakes). it tasted as if it was spiked w/ liquer.

we had a sweet savory sandwich of pb and jelly grilled cheese- not much likin it coz the pb wasnt as sweet, the jelly made from amarena was too tarty and the cheese got lost in all of that.

the booku dough cheesecake was okay, coz i like my cheesecakes baked so inwasnt really inclined w/ this but the choch chips were generous. as for the black buttom mousse, the choc cake was surprisingly light and sweetened less coz the cream cheese mousse on top was enough to balance it out.

drinks were busted out, the rose cucumber tea looked pretty but twas tooooo sweeeeet! though their muscovado pearl tea was 2thumbs up for me.

we got treated to a truffle mushroom carbonara, got a lil hyped but it tasted like the usual ones and not much truffle going on but it was okay.

the spicy choc crinkles were WOW! takes 10secs for the heat to kick in and it was awesome!! same happiness when i tasted their ultimate black forest. had their rose fruitcake been cured longer, that too wouldve been a winner during our taste test, but it was crumbly and the liquer hasnt bonded well w/ the cake yet.

overall, i very much enjoyed it and am looking forward to w/c of these become wadough’s xmas line-up.

Cakes are well thought out, their black bottom cupcake is amazing, chocolatey and not so sweet with flavorful cheesecake inside. They offer pasta and grilled cheese as well which is not to be overlooked, the grilled cheese was toasty and the pasta was done al dente and seasoned properly.

Great place to hangout with friends and enjoy your favorite desserts.

Love the taste of the carrot cake and parmesan cheesecake. The carrot cake is light yet creamy and nutty. The cheesecake is cheesy and dense. Will definitely return.

Went here for dessert and I wasn't disappointed. Their cakes have interesting flavors that all look appetizing. I ordered the Matcha Cheesecake because it's my two favorite things in the world, Matcha and Cheesecake, combined into one. My friend ordered Ube Sansrival, which also tastes so good. I love that the flavors of their cake are distinct without being super sweet.

After a quick ice cream fix at Papa Diddi's, I actually wanted to have pizza at Friuli (another Maginhawa fave), but everyone seemed full already. 😢 They wanted to have coffee instead, so we searched for a nearby café where we could have some drinks (and maybe some pastries) while enjoying the rest of the night.

We stumbled upon Wadough's, one of the relatively new kids on the block. 💁 We checked their menu, and decided to have our Stop # 3 here! 😁

I was initially meaning to get a grilled cheeze sandwich, but later decided against it. Instead, I got the following (and wished I'd be full afterwards):

✅ UBE SANSRIVAL CHEESECAKE (Php 180) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was initially reluctant to get this, becuase I found it to be too expensive for a slice of cake! But my curiosity got the better of me, and I got a slice to share with Josh. 💜 This carefully crafted masterpiece is such a delight, as it puts together two of our pastry favorites: the cheesecake, and our very own sansrival! 😍 The creamy ube layer has a distinct tartness added to the rich ube taste because of the cream cheese, and the sansrival bottom layer adds a welcome texture to the cake as a whole. I still find it to be pricey though, but taste-wise, this is definitely 5⭐!

✅ LIQUID HOT CHOCOLATE (Php 160) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thick and rich hot chocolate that will surely give you the energy you need. 😁 It's actually quite difficult to drink because of the thickness, but I loved every drop of it! The torched marshmallow toppings are super good, too! I'm glad this wasn't too sweet either, so it was really perfect! A must-try! 😉

Despite being a bit small, this café surely made a dent in my heart, and I now consider this as one of the places I'd come back for in the future. 😉

It's been a couple of years since I lived in Maginhawa (during my college days), and much have changed in the past years. Ultimately, Maginhawa is still known to be one of the food destinations in Quezon City, a place where you'll surely find the reataurant that fits your budget and tastebuds. I'm glad to note that there are still plenty of the restaurants we used to frequent during our college days, which serve really good food! I'm equally pleased that the new restaurants have also been keeping up with the traditions, continuing to serve people with awesome food options. Even until now, I still believe that every foodie should visit Maginhawa at least once, and experience the diverse food options here. ❤️

We tried their milkshookts and grilled chee sandwich, and carrot cake, and all are delicious! I love how much marshmallows are in the milkshake. the carrot cake serving was worth the price as the cake slice was big. The red sauce with the sandwich is hot sauce, btw. :)

Went here to try their cakes cos I heard it's really good! The waiter told me that their bestseller was the Davao Tablea and though I wished it was a bit more moist, generally, it didn't disappoint 👍🏼 Also tried their Iced Dark Mocha and it tastes great too.

The place is cozy and the servers were nice (although they became a bit noisy at the back counter for a moment). Will visit again!

I love the thickness of the bacon. The liquid hot chocolate is good but I like the matcha latte better. The roasted tomato and basil grilled chee is yummy too and very filling!

Wadough's cupcakes are to die for. As a cheese/chocolate enthusiast, and a sweet tooth, I absolutely love their chocolate cupcake with cream cheese inside. The price isn't too bad also. I LOVE THIS PLACE.

Friends and I have just begin to scratch the surface when it comes to the desserts and food Chef Wado Siman offers at his newly opened light meals and pastry shop on Maginhawa called Wadough. It is in the same complex as Blacksoup ArtSpace and Van Gogh is Bipolar, and just a couple buildings away from the 150 Maginhawa Food Park.

The restaurant is still testing the neighborhood's response to their products, and I hope Maginhawa eaters will catch on to the delicious liqueur-flavored cupcakes of Chef Wado, which he has been making for years, custom-order. Chef Wado makes them in quality vanilla and dark chocolate ingredients and decorates them with those fun liquor-injecting pipettes.

On my first visit to his store this weekend, I contented myself with a slice of his Apo Espresso chocolate cake, with tablea ganache filling, cream cheese frosting, and - you guessed it - an injection of coffee into the slice.

What's more - he serves single origin Risa Chocolates hot chocolate, just like Bakere on Brixton. A double chocolate treat!

Chef Wado is a stickler about quality and refreshes the cake selection daily, with items like blueberry cheesecake, matcha chocolate cake, aptly named "Macho," a yema cake that's sort of like Remilly's, and his classic chocolate cupcakes, which he calls Flat Bottom Cake. One has to pay a little premium for a slice or a cupcake, but I feel it's worth it.

Go and try the Risa hot chocolate too, while you're at it.

A newly opened Cafe along the busy food street of Maginhawa. Wadough's is best known for their award winning Black Bottom Cupcakes and their 20 Yolk Yema Cake. It all started in 2013 when Wado Siman decided to quit his job and pursue his love for sweets and desserts. Wadough's has been voted as one of the Top 20 homebakers  in Clickthecity's 2014 yearend poll while in 2015, their Yema Cake was chosen as Manila's Best Dessert by the Philippine Star. In 2016, their Black Bottom Cupcake won Globe Pitch Tuesday in Merkato.

After the long wait, Wadough's Cafe is now open at 38 Maginhawa Street Sikatuna Village Quezon City. Aside from their Cakes and Cupcakes they also offer Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Hot and Cold Coffee, and Teas. They will soon be offering their All Day Breakfast Menu in the coming days.

Must Try:
Black Bottom Cupcakes
Yema Cake
Red Velvet Cake
Baileys Cake
Tomato and Basil Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Banana Nutella Grilled Cheeses Sandwich
Flat White
Red Velvet Coffee (which is not yet on their menu)

Wadough's is an instant favorite not just for dessert lover but for everyone who love good food.

The red and white facade is a welcome sight at 154 Maginhawa Courtyard. A cheerful break from the more somber colors of its neighboring establishments.

From the not-too-sweet but super delicious desserts, to the amazing coffee and non-coffee drinks, and the "are you kidding me????" grilled cheese combinations, this place is truly worth a visit.

"Bake love, not war", it says as you enter - and love is served generously, indeed. Inside you are greeted cheerfully by the barista, and treated to good music. Relax in one of the bar stools or signature Wadough's swirl table and chairs as you decide what to order.

They don't make it easy, as everything looks tempting. This afternoon we had Carrot Cake (deliciously hearty and flavorful, topped with a huge walnut on each slice), Nutella cake (sinfully moist, perfectly layered frosting and a play on different textures), and Pesto and Walnut Grilled Chee (crunchy walnuts provide a welcome contrast to the gooey melted cheese and hint of pesto served between perfectly toasted bread, and served with habanero sauce on the side - yum!).

Wadough's award winning Black Bottom cupcakes, and, if you're lucky, the much-raved 20-yolk yema cake are available, as well as other cake and cupcake variants ("The Ex", Four Choco, Red Velvet, Jack Daniel's and more).

They pride themselves on their coffee. but there's lots of options for non-coffee drinkers as well. Like the Wintermelon and Red Velvet Lattes - served hot or iced, a perfect accompaniment to your meal. They also serve classic milkshakes ("Milkshookt").

I will be back to try their breakfast meals in the next couple of weeks.

Drop by for something deliciously different in this old neighborhood!
